Author has written 6 stories for Pokémon. Important Notice: Olivine Romance has been censored in order to comply with FFN content policies. The full, uncensored version can be found at my primary publishing site, Archive Of Our Own. You will have to search the AO3 website for my author profile or story page (Snowden and Olivine Romance, respectively), as FFN no longer supports direct links. News and Updates Current Status: 6-21-2019 Olivine Romance is on hold at FFN. See Archive of Our Own for the latest chapters. P.S.- Olivine Romance has a TvTropes page now! Check it out if you can! Bio: 32-year-old American male, college graduate, college student, part-time worker. I like to write an eclectic mix of genres, including romance, action/adventure, drama, fantasy/science-fiction, comedy, and slice-of-life (so basically everything). My main fanfiction endeavors are focused on the Pokemon franchise. I like the Pokemon universe because its modern setting makes it feel familiar, while the Pokemon make the world fantastical without being overly dangerous. I'm a visual writer, and prefer being able to see what I'm writing about, but I also don't like being constrained by previously established characterization. Pokemon has a large number of characters that have good designs but very little characterization, which make them perfect for a writer like me to craft original personalities and back-stories for. As for the Archive of Our Own and censorship thing- in the summer of 2014 a group known as Critics United got onto my case for the small amount of smut scenes present in Olivine Romance. I strongly disagreed with both the applicability and spirit of the rules against erotica, but had no real power to oppose FFN moderators. In order to continue the project and avoid Olivine Romance being deleted without warning, I chose to censor the version here and migrate my main publishing efforts to Archive of Our Own, a more welcoming and liberal fanfiction site. I believe that, as a story about a young woman attempting to come to grips with the inherent sexuality of adult society, the erotica is vitally important to Olivine Romance. It is not enough to indirectly suggest Jasmine's emotions; I want to explicitly portray the sense of titillation, tension, worry, and arousal she is going through, in order to help the reader empathize with her feelings and understand her actions. This is why I encourage every reader (at least, the ones who are of age and not shy of this kind of content) to visit Archive of Our Own and read the story unblemished. |
