![]() Author has written 9 stories for X-Men, Pirates of the Caribbean, Book X-overs, Misc. Comics, Doctor Who, and Discworld. PLEASE vote in my polls regarding whether/where I should begin updating the Nightcrawler/OC fic. Thanks! I'm a middle-aged widowed grandmother who, ever since I was able to read, has wanted to be Spider-man when I grow up . At this point, I don't think I'm going to grow up, so I guess I won't be slinging any webs either. I was always a Spidey purist, then in my late 40's read some Daredevil and X-Men and it's been downhill from there. Latest obsession is writing the Nightcrawler romance "Unguarded Moments." I have a lot of it ready to go, but some of the earlier stories need to be polished, so it will be a long-term project, if the Lord gives me days. I had posted a few "test chapters" but have now taken them down and started from more or less the beginning, so stay tuned for the hijinx of Nightcrawler, the OC, and various X-men who traipse in and out of the story. (The reason some of the reviews do not match the current chapters is due to the substitution of new chapters for old.) When not churning out fanfic, I write a little humor, fantasy, poetry, etc. Rewriting fairy tales is a favourite, especially done in a snarky vein. My favorite fairy tale bar none is "Beauty and the Beast," and almost everything I write reflects that. (Even the fanfic - although it's my OC who's the beast, haha.) I am much better at refining, editing, or plot doctoring other people's work than at creating something original. As with any author, it's enjoyable to find out, through reviews or PMs, what parts of the stories people enjoy, as well as receiving polite suggestions for improvements or being alerted to areas needing clarification. For a few years I participated in National Novel Writing Month () under the username gammy-the-slug and recommend it heartily for anyone crazy enough to try. It gave me the gift of realizing that I could push through obstacles and write a lot for an extended period of time, and was also instrumental in my making some great writer-type friends. Now that I work a regular job, I haven't fit much time in for writing, but my GOAL is to become organized enough to carve out time to post the mega-thousands of words already written for "Unguarded Moments." If I don't use my spare time to write, I use it to (in no specific order): eat junk food, waste time on the internet, read, sing, pray, grow food, play with th parrot, and watch silly-but-clever movies. |
