Author has written 8 stories for Disney, Hanna-Barbera, Rio, and Scooby Doo. Whoever's reading this, I'll try my best to make it interesting. There's not much to me. (Interesting, right?) As my name would suggest, I am indeed a girl, and will turn 20 pretty soon. Ah, about to be tossed into the throes of adulthood. Well to that, I say no thank you. I'm perfectly happy watching my cartoons, and playing my Nancy Drew computer games, and watching more cartoons. I'm pretty sure there's a link on here to my stories, and you'll notice that they are all for animated movies or TV shows. Yep. It's how I roll. Let me explain for just a second: Animated movies are magic. ANY movie is magic, but...there's something special about animation. Call me childish if you wish, but I believe animated movies are not just for children. Sure, kids are fascinated by the bright colors and the cartoonish features, but...why can't adults be, too? Of course, there must be more than just that to entertain adults over their youthful counterparts, which brings me to my next point: A child will be just as entertained by a GOOD movie as a BAD movie. So I'd like to make one distinction: I like the animated movies with levels. Some of them are completely aimed towards kids, or just idiots. (If I was in charge of Disney...'Mars Needs Moms' would never have made it past the "Hey, I've got an idea" stage). But most of them...they're just brilliant (Mostly Pixar). The kids will be entertained because it's a good movie, and they'll grow up re-watching it, and noticing things they've never noticed before. And adults will, too, if they keep an open mind. That's how I grew up, and that's how I'll always be. In cartoons, features can be exaggerated. The boundaries of physics are stretched. The line of believability is chalked a few yards farther than that for live action. If I had a hat and something frightened me, my hat would go flying off my head. If something caught me by surprise, my pupils would instantly shrink. If I became sad and I cried to myself in a closet, the closet door would move with the intensity of my wracking sobs. It would be awesome. And I appreciate all these little things that make a difference, partly because I'm still a child at heart, and partly because I just legitimately find them entertaining to watch. You get an entirely new experience with each animated movie because their worlds are CREATED, not just adapted. Everything is from scratch. It's...it's wonderful. I wish I could explain more, but I can't, and I know that I've rambled quite enough already. AH! So serious! I'm a lighthearted soul, and so I'll stop my deep introspective rantings, mostly because I know you, as the reader, probably doesn't really care. I suppose I should insert some plug for my few stories. But while I DO want people to read them, I don't want to be the "here-read-this" girl, and so it's completely your choice. May the force be with you. KhallieGurl P.S.: I've written a few "Rio" fics, and in my first, I christened the little birdie samba club "The Branch". People have been using this name, I have been told because they actually think that was what it was called in the movie. I wanted to provide some clarification: "The Branch", at least the name, is my creation, and I LOVE that people are using it. Truth be told, I'd prefer to be PMed asking permission, but I'm really just honored people want to use it in the first place. So if you read this and you want to use that name...PM me? Please?
