Like the old pro who knows he doesn't have it anymore, but can't bear the thought of sitting in the bleachers forever, I'm back.

I really feel like my stories have said all that they have to say, and I should move on. But the urge to write is like mercury. A little builds up every day, until you go crazy.

My best writing is behind me, but nobody ever taught this old dog how to stay down. (Nobody ever taught him how to write, either, but that's neither here nor there.)
