Originally written for Darvey Secret Santa 2019. Donna's dad dies a few days before Christmas; Harvey helps her through grief, while also making sure they celebrate their first Christmas together as a couple.

Donna and Harvey move to Seattle, and everything is going well- that is, until a family reunion they didn't see coming. Some character crossover with Grey's Anatomy (though you don't need to be familiar with that show to read this.)

She had gotten very good at placing her feelings into a tightly sealed Harvey box in her brain. That is, until last night, and now she was scrambling to get the lid back on. Alternate ending for 4x16.

Two years ago, she'd be going through this by herself, with a bottle of wine. Old habits die hard. Post 9x10, Donna and Harvey are closing in on their first year in Seattle and things haven't turned out exactly as they planned.

Sometimes, life is about trusting that the future can be amazing, even if it's different than you pictured. Post 9x10.
