 Author has written 20 stories for Law and Order: CI, and Simon and Simon. After 28 years of working for a business, they had a change in management. This change was not a surprise, something I had been pushing them to do to meet the new direction of funding. With this change, I was let go. I am currently trying to see what is out there, what direction I need to go and how to 're-purpose' my life. I was going to say recycle...but that sounds harsh at my age!! lol Now that the dust has settled and I am into a routine, I will be back on fanfiction, reading and I keep saying, writing, but I sure hope so! Have a great day! Mary Ellen, aka charlieboy Update: I am currently going through a training program for a insurance specialist (coding and billing insurance companies for services). I am hoping that I will be able to land somewhere at the end of this training (ends mid-October...so does my unemployment! YIKES!!). More to be revealed! :) Update: I am working at Golden Living as Administrative Intake. Meaning I key in patient information into their system, run reports etc. I am new to this (going on 2 1/2 months) but I am loving it. The people are awesome, the stress level is fairly low and I love going to work every day! Woo Hoo!! See, you can teach an old dog new tricks!! Update: Having learned the job and duties, they are now bringing in new software! Yikes! But, I feel I can learn it. Keep moving forward, right? Update: 11/27/17 The job I was working at (Golden Living) ended after 3 years (they sold off their nursing homes). I am now working with a non-profit. Am hoping that things will be good here! Great bunch of people lower stress level (usually) and designed to help those in need of training to get it. I am into my 7th month and do like it! 12/22/18 I think they will begin calling me 'The Closure'. The job that I began in April of 2017 will end sometime before June 30, 2019. Now that I am 62, the finding of a job is even more difficult. You might find me around Fanfiction even more! 04/27/20 Oh my, what was I thinking of wanting/needing another job! The last one was sweet, this one is a lot tougher on this old brain. I currently work at an Independent and Alzheimer's Living center. It is a for profit facility and has a lot of drama. Right now I am spending more time working and stressing than I am writing. Hopefully all is well with everyone! |
