Author has written 10 stories for Godzilla, Misc. Movies, and Doctor Who. Update May 31, 2016 One of my stories received a title change. Rodan vs Noregon is now called The Wrath of Gigan. The old title didn't seem to be attracting as many readers as my other stories. So let's see what a new title will do! Update May 29, 2016 I just posted War of the Sea Monsters. It's a sequel to the film Godzilla vs The Sea Monster. You will also see characters from my other fan fiction stories, such as Japanese secret service agent Shindo Yamaguchi, gun-for-hire Satin and her mercenary gang, and college student Gary Culmin. So all the characters have a bit of history to them, but don't worry. I explain their pasts so the story should not be confusing. In other news, I had the pleasure to write the foreword to Matt Dennion's Gfantis vs Guest Monsters anthology, book 1. Gfantis is the creation of Daikaiju Enterprises and is the kaiju mascot of G-Fan magazine. Matt Dennion has been writing short stories pitting his kaiju and kaiju of other writers against Gfantis. I have read a number of stories. They are amazingly imaginative. The book will be available as an Ebook. Frank Parr provided the cover art. The book should be available in July 2016. The anthology will be available in various formats including Kindle, Ibooks, and Smashwords! Any proceeds fromt he book will go to help Kaiju fans in need. I will be at G-Fest in July to host the writer's panel. Matt Dennion (Atomic Rex & Operation ROC), Timothy Price (Big in Japan & Big in Japan II: Power), Skip Peel (Rex Summeral saga), and Erik Glascoe (The Awakening) will also be on the panel. We will be discussing all matters of writing kaiju fiction. Hope to see you there! Update August 7, 2013 The readership for Queen of Hearts has been modest but the reviews have been enthusiastic. Thanks to everyone who has tagged along for the adventure thus far! As a psychic, Miki Saegusa has probably been in touch with psychics who have worked in parapsychology. She may have researched psychic phenomenon, maybe even have attended conferences. The Heisei films never say, but I went with the assumption she has done these things in between her kaiju adventures. If you haven't read Queen of Hearts, you'll notice she's familiar with Tarot cards, fortune telling, and ufology. It would be fun to involve her into a horror story like Legend of Hell House, which has a psychic central to the plot, but Miki seems to be the type to shy away from hauntings, ghosts and poltergeists. Update July 28, 2013 The writer's panel at G-Fest was a success. We had a full room with lots of good questions from the people who came. I started a new Godzilla story. This one is a bit special because it's my first crossover story. Normally I don't do crossovers but I couldn't resist spilling the Doctor Who universe over into Godzilla's. This story picks up after Godzilla vs Destroyah. Miki is heartbroken over Godzilla's death and is still losing her ESP. Meru is in charge of the Dinosaur Research Team, studying Godzilla Jr and a new monster, Anguirus. OK, Anguirus isn't new pre se, but he's new to the Heisei continuity. Where does Doctor Who fit in? You'll have to read the story to find out. It's called Queen of Hearts and the first part is available now on Fan Fiction. Check it out! Update June 4, 2013 I've been working my novels and haven't done much with fan fiction as of late. It's still great seeing people are reading my stories and thank you to you who added my work to your favorites! The big news on the horizon is that I will be hosting a writer's panel at G-Fest this year with Skip Peel and Timothy Price. This panel is a forum for you, the writers. Anything you want to talk about or have questions, we will be there for you! G-Fest will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Chicago, IL, July 12th through the 14th. For further details go to the G-Fan website. Back to my profile... I've been a Godzilla fan for a long time. How long is "long"? Let's put it this way, I was there when they invented fire the wheel and indoor plumbing. OK, maybe not that long. But I do remember the days when there was no Star Wars or internet. I've done about all the fun things a Godzilla fan can do, collected the Bandai figures, attended G-Fest, had my stories published in G-Fan, and visited Toho studios. I’ve always considered Godzilla a good guy even when the movies portrayed him as a menace. But if you think about it, is he really being evil or is mankind flipping out over his ignorance of private property rights? Godzilla proved deep down he was a moral creature when he rescued Mothra in Ghidrah: The Three-Headed Monster. The unanswered question is at what point did he decide to be mankind’s protector as well? That became the theme of my first story, Attack of the Super Allosaurus, which was published as a three-part “novel length feature” in G-Fan issues 15 through 17. When Toho revamped Godzilla for the 90s, I still thought Godzilla was a good creature. He spared Miki’s life in Biollante and seemed to show remorse before blasting Yasuaki Shindo in Godzilla vs King Gidorah. I made of point of digging out Heisei Godzilla’s moral nature in Battle of Manazura Island (published in G-Fan #25) and Godzilla vs Tiamatodon, posted to the G-Fan website in 2006. My stories can be read in any order, but if you want to see how the characters develop, this is their chronological order: Attack of the Super Allosaurus Rodana, Queen of the Sky The Wrath of Gigan Godzilla: War of the Sea Monsters Godzilla: Rise of the Phoenix Battle of Manazura Island Godzilla vs Tiamatodon Toho characters which make appearances: The Twin Fairies Shigeru Kawamura (Rodan) Kiyo (Rodan) Dr. Yamane (Godzilla & Godzilla Raids Again) Dayo (Godzilla vs the Sea Monster) Captain Yamato (Godzilla vs the Sea Monster) Kyoko Manabe (Destroy All Monsters) Miki Saegusa Katsura Mafune (Terror of Mechagodzilla) Dr. Mafune (Terror of Mechagodzilla) Akira Ichinose (Terror of Mechagodzilla) Professor Miyajima (Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 1974) Dr. Kawaji (Frankenstein Conquers the World) Dr. James Bowen (Frankenstein Conquers the World) Dr. Sueko Togami (Frankenstein Conquers the World) Minister Segawa (G vs Mechagodzilla 1993, G vs Spacegodzilla) General Aso (G vs Mechagodzilla 1993, vs Spacegodzilla, vs Destroyah) Professor Mazaki (Godzilla vs King Gidorah) Other stories I’m also a Hammer Horror fan. If you’re bored with Godzilla I’ve got two Hammer Horror stories buried in my story collection, Idleburg's Doppelganger Affair and Captured! |
