Author has written 2 stories for Game of Thrones, and Mortal Instruments. “Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind, is written large in his works.” — Virginia Woolf Hello! I'm Karen Regal, future novelist and avid reader of anything fiction or historical, or both. I hope to be a professional writer in the future, and I realized this by writing fanfiction. What started off as a way to make the endings of my favorite movies and cartoons end the way I wanted them to blossomed into a genuine love for story-telling, creativity, and world-building. I don't have many stories at the moment because like many authors, I have too many ideas and too little time to write them. Nevertheless, I appreciate anyone who comes around and takes time from their busy schedules to read my stories. Below are my fics as they stand: The Hound and His Lady: My first and only completed fanfic. My favorite character in Game of Thrones was Sandor Clegane for obvious reasons (who doesn't love chicken and fighting?) and while I was satisfied with the poetic ending the show gave him, a part of me felt he deserved a much happier ending that didn't revolve solely on revenge. I felt he truly wanted someone to love him, and make him feel human and wanted. Thus, the idea of Celeste was born. She is the perfect foil for our lovable brute, and she softens those very rough edges of his to bring out the gentle giant he is. Evangeline: My second fic, born from my love for The Mortal Instruments and all of Cassandra Clare's works (we can all thank my friend for introducing me to the series). The story starts off with the mysterious orphan Evangeline, who was left on the steps of the Silent City and has lived her life in the New York Institute. The fic takes place just before the start of City of Bones where you read of Evangeline's life, the family she sees in the Lightwoods, Jace, and Hodge Starkweather, and her blossoming love with a very unlikely individual. As the story unfolds, Eva begins to find pieces of her past, of her family and of her origins, until she comes to the truth and realizes she has to sacrifice herself in order to save the Nephilim from the evils of Valentine Morgenstern. |
