Author has written 6 stories for Medal of Honor, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Greetings all: I enjoy writing at the moment, and hopefully I can keep it that way. I am doing a fan fiction about if Knuckles had a lost brother. It is sad, uplifting, funny, and drama and action packed. I'm doing this for one: to better myself at story telling, grammer, spelling, and structure before I go for some original projects. It is also helping my character building process which is key to every story. My favorite Authors are: Tom Clancy, Ray Bradburry, and John le Carre, but also branch out as much as I can. My tips to other aurthors on this forum: Keep at it. Take your time so times, and take time off from writing so you don't get frustrated. Don't be afraid to go back over your writings to do editing and better story structor. I have done this several times on my first two sections, finding many mistakes and gaps that could loose readers. Right now, the next section and book that I am doing has so far, been drafted and redrafted three times. My final draft, that is still in the process of being written, came to me with the wind flowing through the trees. Make your endings as powerfull as you beginnings, and make you beginnings grapping, making the reader wanting to contiune on with the story. I listen to lots of classical when I write. Waltzes for one, but mostly soundtracks and other artists. I also listen to rock and stuff but for the story and parts that I am doing now, I tend to keep it soft. I love Sonic the Hedgehog games and comics. I also enjoy Helsing magna and Path of the Assasin. Two awsome Magnas. I also enjoy reading history, particulaly World War II and now ancient Japanese history (the Samuri and such.) I also study Law Enforcement and anti-terrorism tactics, history, and moivations, so you might see some of that in my writings. Currently, the only games I am playing is Sonic Heros, Rainbow Six, and Silent Hunter III: racking up almost a milion tons of shipping. I can't wait for the release of SH4. I also fly flight simulators. Been a Combat Flightsimer since Microsoft put theirs out many moons ago. I have flown and been and worked around old warbirds. There is something about them: their buety, their history, and how they fly always fasinates me. I try to bring my experinces to bear in my writings and stress that others do as well. It is how we find ourselves, and put things in prospective to others. In essence, Aleutian is somewhat me, but most of us put our alter-egos and selves in our orginal characters. Again, what makes this type of writing fun. To add to my tips: make characters that are unusal, different, and by this I mean: attitudes, dialogue and history. Also make characters that could make some readers relate to. When I develope settings, plots and emotions, I bring up scenorios and wounder how I would act and feel if it would happen to me. Then I would create a character and put their emotions and thoughts on the idea. Other than that, this is me...and me alone. |
