![]() Author has written 18 stories for Lupin III, Star Wars, White Wolf, Warcraft, and Misc. Books. Velkyn is a very old name from a very old MUD for a very old woman. Well, perhaps not that old. Velkyn is a former west coast girl who now lives in Ontario with six cats, nine computers, and several hundred books. Her interests include films, music, chocolate-making, ballroom dance, and most of the things mentioned in the previous sentence. She writes humour, fantasy, horror, mysteries, and on rainy days, romance. What she most enjoys writing, however, are lengthy and wryly amusing biographies of herself. Velkyn went through an angst-filled adolescence during which she wrote copious amounts of poetry which will hopefully never see the light of day. She refuses to take herself seriously. Although Velkyn did not create the Mary-Sue Litmus test, she uses it every time she writes an original character into someone else's universe. She specialises in Lupin the Third fanfiction, and is currently at work on her Alexis Finch series, as well as a fleshing-out of Edward Gorey's Gashlycrumb Tinies. Velkyn also writes original fiction, which she has so far declined to publish. She speaks and writes in Queen's English, and she is a great proponent of the Oxford comma. She knows the panda joke. When not sitting at her computer, emptying the contents of her overactive imagination into Wordpad, Velkyn plays CitySim games and takes classes in everything from Japanese to chocolate tempering. She has a psychological block that prevents her from eating cheesecake. She amuses herself by surfing Wikipedia, watching MST3k episodes, and reading books on how to be a better writer. Velkyn started collecting hats when she was six, and now owns more hats than shoes. She was definitely born in the wrong decade, and possibly even the wrong century.
