![]() Author has written 11 stories for Star Wars. I'm a Star Wars fan. I have been since the first movie came out way back when...does that date me???? I guess it does. I'm actually one of the few old time SW fans who truly liked the prequel trilogy as well as I did the the first. I cried when when the Jedi were slaughtered, and I hated Anakin for doing it. SO...after a little urging from online friends, I decided to change the outcome. Presumptuous of me, I know, but, well, what can I say. I'm sure having fun doing it. Favorite character: If you've read any of my stories, you probably know it has to be Obi-Wan. Dislikes: Obi-Wan romance stories - ugh! My apologies to those who write them, but, well, ugh! Obi-Wan-turning-to-the-Dark-Side stories, I just don't see him doing that. Mary Sue stories of any kind - blech! And stories that make the Jedi look like heartless brutes - they just weren't like that folks. I'm probably going to become unpopular with some readers, but The Clone Wars and Rebels. I don't like the animation. I hate the way it villifies the Jedi-see #4 of my dislikes. Unstable Anakin is given an apprentice? The resurrection of Maul-he was bisected, no amount of plot armor can fix that. Obi-Wan has a lover, my number one dislike. I did want to like TWC, but after seeing a handful of episodes, it was pretty clear what direction it was taking. I never watched Rebels, what I know about it, I gleaned from sites like Quora. Enough to tell me that I wouldn't like it. And then we come to Disney's Star Wars. I don't even know where to start, but here goes... Rey comes off as a Mary Sue-a superhero who can do just about anything. The First Order seems to have come from the remnants of the Empire, but they apparently have unlimited resources while the New Republic, which has had twenty years to rebuild, has been reduced to nothing more than they were before the Empire was defeated. Han deserts his wife and son to go back to smuggling. My favorite OT character, Luke, turns his back on both his sister and the New Republic to become a bitter old hermit after almost murdering his own nephew. I only saw the first two, I have no desire to see the last one. To be continued... TamsynDell 04/17/18-WRITING UPDATE: For any readers still following my stories, I would like apologize for the long interval it has been since I last updated my "current" story - "The Inhertance". In the two years since I posted the last chapter, I have been "drafted" into a Boy Scout Venturing Crew by a couple of very dear friends that has kept me very busy and distracted from writing, and I have lost both of my cat companions, the first the summer before last, and the second just before Christmas this past year; both of them required special needs and extra attention during their illnesses. So writing during those mourning periods has been very difficult if not impossible. It has only been in the last month or so that I have finally found the voices of my characters "talking" to me again, and so I am hoping to finally bring the story to what I hope is a satisfying conclusion very soon. Whether you, dear readers, are still interested or not will be determined when I start posting again. T.D. 05/02/20-WRITING UPDATE, CONTINUED: Yes, I am still working on finishing my latest story. I have 2 chapters completed, but my goal is to finish it before posting anything to avoid future delays. It's been a bit of a struggle, and I'm not quite sure if what I've already written hasn't become too drawn out and cumbersome. I may go back to review it and cut out some of what may be unnecessary drama before posting. I'd like to say that will be soon, but I promised that 2 years ago, and, well here we are... In any case, I wanted to let you know that I have not abandoned it completely and will, eventually post some kind of conclusion; hopefully, a satisfying one. After that, my next project will be to go through the already completed stories to correct typos, grammar and spelling errors and continuity problems. After going back and rereading them, I am seeing quite a few errors I would like to fix. I have a few story ideas in my head, but, truthfully, I'm not sure just how many of my readers are left out there after all this time. I just wanted to update you again, and promise that, eventually, "The Inheritance" will be completed. I will try very hard to make it soon. TD |
