remember all the times you've shared with them...

1. Mackerel. "Eirem," she said quietly, pulling back just enough that her words wouldn't be muffled unintelligibly by Twister's fur. "She's my mother - but not, because she hated me, and I... she came to me in my dream, said that it was my fault that he's dead, but it wasn't - it was all an accident, and I didn't - I didn't know what was happening. And then she told me that I could run once but never again, that she'd catch me, but I ran anyway because I was so scared, I thought it was real, and she caught me like she said, and - and--" she broke off as her voice cracked. "I didn't kill him, I never hurt Shaw not once; there was too much smoke and he just died. I didn't do anything to any of them, they just hated me and I don't know why. I ran away but it's still here, it's inside me, and it's not going away no matter how deep I bury it."

2. Jaci. A barn? Jaci's heart fluttered for a slight moment, pausing her. What was that feeling? She couldn't put a name to it. Hope? No, no it couldn't be. Not after everything that they had gone through. She wasn't sure such a thing could exist, at least, not for them. Not for her. To her, the barn didn't symbolize anything more than a new home. She hoped that the others would get more of a feeling out of it, perhaps her kits could grow up there. Yes, that would be nice. That would be really nice.

   ---

3. Twister. "Work 'til dusk, before the creep. Of sweet darkness on quiet feet. And to sleep, we shall return. Us safe and sound 'til chilly morn. Fear not the world turned black and dead. Just rest your little weary head. We're all here, and we're warm. To keep you safe from ev'ry harm. But now to bed, dear, we run to rest until the morning sun."

4. Maelstrom. She took in a deep breath, tried to ice herself over, unwittingly copying him in the process. There would be time for weakness and regret and shame and shaking later, but for now, she had to be strong. For her Clan. For everyone. "Well, I don't love you," she said, throwing the words at him, crushing all his broken promises and tossing it into his face like sand. "Goodbye, Maelstrom."

5. Shackle. I will take care of them, he silently promised, all of them. All of our family. I am sorry I was not there to defend you when I was needed. I suppose you know now that I do not have all the answers, and never did. I could not live up to whatever you thought I was. He blew out a quiet breath. I am sorry. But I will look after them, I swear it, and if you are out there anywhere, I hope you can find peace with that.

6. Jenner. "You're better than them all, Jaci - don't even deny it, 'cause you're wrong, okay? You're beautiful and kind and you make me laugh, you're perfect to me. You're everything I've ever wanted, and I love you, love you more than anything in this stupid world." Jenner wanted to believe so badly that if he spoke these loving words, the life would return to her broken body, but the dwindling sane part of him knew it was useless, that Jaci was as good as gone. He sucked in a shaky breath, looking away from her for a moment, up to the black sky and the pale stars that twinkled coldly down. She would be with them, soon. After a moment, he looked back down at her. "I'll be here with you until the end. I love you." He cracked a crooked smile, putting on one last show for her. "Don't be afraid, you're safe now, Jace."

   ---

7. Jessie. Jessie's eyes widened as she realized what this meant. She didn't have Jenner to protect her anymore. She didn't have Shackle or Twister or Maelstrom or Mackerel or Jaci. She was alone now, and she was screwed. What can I do, what can I do?

Well, Honey obviously isn't really social. She kinda became friends with Hail and maybe had a little crush on him, but that all ended when he snapped at her and they stopped talking. She met Wolf and they became close, and I think she was in love with the idea of actually falling in love.

She's realizing she doesn't really like Wolfpelt as much as he likes her, but doesn't want to be the cause of him going insane, especially since she blames herself for Spiderpaw's disappearance.
