Chapter 5

Glynda was watching carefully on her Scroll. She was watching Cole and Delsin running away from the Nevermore with Velvet and Lethe behind them. "Please be safe, Cole," Glynda whispered to herself. She knows that Cole's been in different situations, but this is one where it is possible that he could die.

"Glynda, you just need to relax. Have faith in Cole and he'll be fine," Ozpin said to her.

"I know, Prof. Ozpin, I just can't help it," she replied.

"Shit, shit, shit, shit!" Delsin shouted as they kept on running away from the Nevermore that wanted to maul them to death.

"This is what I mean, Del, you gotta plan before attacking!" Cole shouted back at him.

"Stop talking like your mom and think like me!" Delsin shouted back.

"You spray paint too much!"

"I'm just trying to assert my talent!"

The four kept on running until they reach a cropping of rock formations in a clearing. "Look, we can take cover there from the Nevermore!" Lethe shouted as she pointed at the location.

They all nodded and started to run towards the formations. They then started to feel trembling on the ground. "Please don't let that be another Grimm," Delsin said out loud.

A Deathstalker came rushing out of the forest, screeching as it crawled towards them. "You had to fucking say that, didn't you!" Cole shouted at him.

"Don't blame me!" Delsin shouted back. He raised his hand and started to shoot smoke shots at the Nevermore. "Well, you know what they say about second hand smoke."

In response, the Nevermore lifted it's wings and started to barrage them with razor sharp feathers. They four kept on running as they dodged the feathers. "Delsin, stop and think!" Cole shouted.

"You're sounding like Reggie right now, you know?!" Delsin yelled back as he switched from the Nevermore to the Dethstalker. "A Nevermore, a Deathstalker versus me. Seems about fair."

Cole lifted up his hand and shot an electrical rocket towards the Deathstalker. It landed a direct blow on it's face and it started screeching in pain, stunning it for a bit. "C'mon, we can't just keep fighting until we're out of juice!" Cole said as he went behind a rock formation to avoid the feathers.

"Well what do you have in mind?!" Lethe asked him.

Cole was about to reply when he didn't see Velvet nearby. "Wait?! Where's Velvet?!" He looked around as the feathers subsided for a moment. He then saw Velvet taking cover behind one of the formations far from the major bulk of the group. "Velvet? Are you okay?" he called out to her.

"Yeah, I just sprained my ankle. My Aura is currently healing it but it'll take awhile," Velvet replied.

Cole was about to step out into the open until Delsin grabbed his arm. "What are you doing dude? You can't just go out there. You're gonna get impaled by those feathers if Birdy over there decides to shoot it's feathers at you," Delsin told him.

"She's my partner, I can't just leave her, Del," Cole replied.

Delsin dropped his arms to his sides and shook his head. "Your funeral, man."

Cole nodded as he got ready to run towards Velvet. Feathers started to fly past him again. One of them just grazed his left arm as he kept on running. He got the to the formation and smiled at Velvet. "Hey."

"What are you doing?" Velvet asked him.

"I'm your partner, Velvet, I'm not gonna leave you behind," Cole said to her. He noticed that she was blushing a bit at his choice of words. "Hold still. I'm gonna help you out with your ankle."

"What are you gonna do?" Velvet asked him. Her eyes widened when she saw him having electricity course through his right hand as he reached for her arm. "Don't hurt me!" she screeched.

"Just relax. Trust me," Cole replied. She just nodded and took in deep breaths. He placed his hand on her arm and let out a small electrical pulse into her.

Velvet felt a huge jolt in her. It wasn't a jolt of pain, more like adrenaline. After the jolting subsided, she didn't feel any pain in her right ankle anymore. "How did you-?"

"No time to explain. I'll tell you later," Cole said to her as he helped her up. "Stay low. I'll draw it's fire." Velvet nodded as she started to towards Delsin and Lethe, who were trying to keep the Deathstalker at bay.

"Cole! This Deathstalker is giving us a hard time!" Delsin shouted.

"Hold it off for a moment!" Cole shouted back. He ran out into the open and started to shoot rapid bursts of electrical bolts at the Nevermore. He dodged the next barrage of feathers heading towards him as a smokey smell started to engulf the air. Cole slide towards Delsin who was chuckling at him. "Why are you laughing?"

"You almost got your ass handed to you man," Delsin said to him.

"Up yours," Cole replied. "Hey, you can use your smoke dash to go up besides from the sides right?" Cole asked him.

"Yeah, why?" Delsin asked him.

"You're gonna do your thing, Del," Cole replied.

"No way, ride a Nevermore?" Delsin asked with a childish expression.

"Ride a Nevermore," Cole confirmed. "I want you and your partner to distract that Nevermore while me and Velvet take on the Deathstalker. A'ight?" Cole told him.

"Sure man, you can count on us," Delsin replied.

All the while Lethe was shaking her head. "No. There's no way that I'm gonna ride that thing!" she said while pointing at the Nevermore.

"We never asked you to do so," the Conduits said in unison.

"Oh no," Lethe mumbled as her cat ears flattened against her orange hair.

Instantly Delsin grabbed his partner with a devilish grin on his face. "Hold on," he said as he crouched down.

"Let me go you idiot!" Lethe shouted as she batted away at Delsin's back. Delsin jumped up and enveloped into a cloud of smoke which started to move towards the Nevermore. The plume of smoke reached the Nevermore and moved behind it. The smoke then materialized back into Delsin and Lethe, landing on the back of said Grimm. This started the Nevermore causing it to flap it's wings and started flying into the air.

"Whoooo!" Delsin cheered as he took off his beanie and spun it around as it flew around in circles. A huge grin plastered it self to his face as his cheeks were wiggling about from the rush of wind hitting his face. "This. Is. AWESOME!"

"You're such an idiot!" Lethe screamed as it started to dive bomb down to the ground before going back up into the air.

"That's the cue. C'mon!" Cole shouted as he ran towards the Nevermore with his Amp drawn.

Velvet watched the electrical Conduit swing his Amp at one of the claws before throwing a ball of electricity at it before it exploded.

...I may be a Conduit, but I'm not invincible...

She shook her head and put on her game face. She took out her Dust wand and ran towards the Deathstalker. By now, the Deathstalker managed to knock Cole out of the way with one of it's claws. Velvet concentrated her Aura into her wand. A bright green light started to glow from it before she let it loose near the Deathstalker. Horned vines bursted out of the ground and started to entangle the legs and claws of the Deathstalker as it struggled to get the vines off of it's body. It then raised it's stinger and tried to strike Velvet with it. She was about to dodge it until she saw a bolt of electricity hit the stinger. She looked to her right to see Cole running back towards it. He jumped on it and started to send strong electrical pulses into it's body.

"Yeah, buddy, right?! Hit me in the head again!" Cole shouted as he continued to shock it.

"Anchors away!" shouted Delsin. Cole and Velvet looked up to see the Nevermore above them, with Delsin jumping off it, leaving Lethe behind who was slashing at it with her claws.

"Velvet, get out of here! Run!" Cole shouted as he jumped off the Deathstalker. He ran towards Velvet and picked her up in bridal style causing her to blush madly.

"Wh-what's gonna-?" she asked.

"Just watch," Cole replied as he stopped and placed her down. They turned around to see Delsin speeding down towards he Deathstalker. He was using his smoke thrusters to give him more speed as he descended down. He made contact with the Grimm. A huge cloud of smoke, along with an explosion, went up with the dying screams of the Deathstalker. The smoke then started to dissipate and started to gather into a singular small cloud near the where the Deathstalker should've been, which was totally gone from creation. The smoke cloud then materialized into, yours truly, Delsin who was so hyped up from his recent move.

"Whoo! That was awesome! I rode a Nevermore and Orbital dropped on a Deathstalker! Can this day get any more awesome?!" Delsin shouted happily.

"Well you did left your partner on the Nevermore. Tell her to jump... and catch her alright?" Cole said to the smoke Conduit.

"But I was just having soo much fun, dude! Don't make me save damsel in distress!" Delsin pouted at Cole.

"She's your partner, it's your responsibility to get her, which you don't really have man," Cole told him.

"You sound like Reggie, bro. Fine, I'll do it," Delsin muttered out. "Hey Lehte, you should jump of that Nevermore!" he shouted out.

"Are you crazy?! I'm not going to jump off and fall to my death!" Lethe screamed back.

"I promise I'll catch you! C'mon, you still have eight lives if you fall flat on your face! I thought cats always land on their feet when the fall?" Delsin said with those humiliating cat puns.

The response was the sound of Lethe screaming as she jumped off the Nevermore with her arms flailing in front of her. "Go get her, lady killer," Cole said to him. Delsin jumped into the air and smoke dashed towards his partner. He reverted back and caught her in his arms.

"Need a lift?" Delsin asked mockingly. He just received a slap to his face.

"You're such a dolt you know that?!" Lethe screamed into his face.

"A simple thank you would be nice," Delsin replied before smoke dashing back down to the ground. They reverted and he placed her down. "So, how're you gonna kill Birdy over there?" Delsin asked Cole.

"Easy. Thunder storm," Cole replied.

"Whoa, dud, that's gonna drain most of you juice man!" Delsin retorted.

"You got a better idea, banner man?" Cole replied, using the name Delsin despises so much.

"Hey, don't call me that. I don't want it back!"

"I thought so." Cole took in a deep breath as he relaxed his body. Electricity started to course through his arms as he concentrated to have them funnel down to a singular point. "Delsin, Sulphur Bomb it," he told him.

Delsin grinned as he arched his hand back. He conjured up a small ball of smoke in his hand before chucking it at the Nevermore. It landed a hit on it's face as it started to fly more disoriented. "You are a clear, Cole," Delsin replied.

Cole nodded as he raised his arms up. He quickly brought them down letting out a grunt. A rumble in the sky went out before massive lightning bolts started raining down on the Nevermore. "You like that?! C'mon!" Cole screamed at the top of his lungs as he continued the barrage, the Nevermore starting to descend to the ground. Cole started to run out of power so he gave it his all on it. As the last of his juice left him he fell on his knees with Velvet running up beside him. "Is it dead?" he asked with a slight pant in his breathing.

The rumbling of ground was the evidence they needed. Delsin placed his hand over his eyes to see the corpse of the Nevermore laying on the ground with the occasional crackling of lighting around it. "It's over man. That was fucking insane man."

"Yeah, it sure was. I really need some power, Del," Cole replied.

"We better get you to the infirmary, Cole," Velvet said to him.

"I'm... I'm fine, just need some electricity and I'm set," Cole replied.

"Can we get out of here? I don't want us to get jumped with a power drained Conduit whose friend is a nutjob," Lethe proposed.

"I'm not a nutjob," Delsin pouted.

"You're an ass, I can tell you that," Cole replied.

"From now on, you will be known as Team RWBY. Led by, Ruby Rose," Ozpin said as the crowd started cheering. The newly formed Team RWBY walked off the stage. It was then the two Conduits and Faunus girls stepping on the stage. "Delsin Rowe, Velvet Scarlatina, Lethe Radiance and Cole MacGrath. The four of you have collected the Black Rook pieces. From now on, you'll be known as Team CLVR (Clever). And you'll be led by... Cole MacGrath,"

Cole and Delsin looked at each other and brofisted each other. "Finally, it's official, Del!" Cole said happily.

"You're a leader man. Your mom is really proud I bet," Delsin replied.

"Which I am, Mr. Rowe," Glynda said as she stepped on the stage. "To hell with it." She then hugged Cole in front of everyone who cooed silently at the sight.

"M-mom, you can let go now!" Cole said as he tried to wriggle out of his mother's grasp.

"But I'm so proud of you, Cole!" Glynda said as she hugged him even tighter.

Cole then heard the sound of a camera going off. He turned his head to see Delsin with a big ass smile and his phone out. "Gotta catch those memories, man."

A lighting bolt almost hit him in the head as Cole stomped towards him. "I'm gonna rip that phone out of your sorry dead hands!"

"Gotta catch me first!" Delsin shouted as he smoke dashed through a vent.

Lethe shook her head at them. "Why are we on a team that has a crazy smokey guy and all?" she asked Velvet.

"I dunno. But all I can say is that my time here isn't gonna be that bad knowing that I'm with great people like you, Lethe," Velvet replied.

"This is going to be some interesting year," Ozpin said with humour as Cole rambled like a mad man about Delsin.
