"We should get married," Leo said. Reyna looked at him. They were on her couch, feet tangled together. Reyna was reading a book, and Leo was fiddling with some random materials.
"Why?" Leo put his little contraption down, sitting up.
"Think about it; we could elope to Puerto Rico or Mexico or Paraguay and we could live there. I mean, I'm pretty much the best mortal mechanic ever, you could get a job, and we both know Spanish. So, the real question is, why not?" Reyna smiled at him.
"Because we have a life here, friends and jobs and a knowledge of the culture. You know we can't just drop everything and leave."
"We can still get married! We don't have to make it a big thing, we can just have Jason and Piper and Percy and them. And I have-" he reached into his pocket, pulling out a silver ring fitted with a modest yet beautiful diamond. "-this." Reyna gasped, sitting up.
"When did you get that?" she asked. Leo snorted.
"Please, belleza, I made that. And as for when- about three weeks after we started dating." Reyna smiled at him, melting at his sentiment.
"You knew? Even then?" she asked quietly. He nodded.
"Even then."
"I love you."
"Then marry me!" She smiled again.
"We're only 19." He took her hands.
"That just means that if you marry me now, we'll have all the more time together." He slipped the ring onto her finger. "Please."
"How about this," she said. "I'm saying yes-" Leo grinned crazily, "-but not for now." His brow furrowed.
"Wha-"
"What I mean is that I am going to marry you. But not for a while. I love you, so much. But we're just too young." He sighed.
"It's a- work in progress," he said, smiling a little. Reyna kissed him.
"Exactly," she whispered.
So here's a tiny little one-shot, probably will turn into a story or collection, don't know yet.
