Sorry about the wait. I realized I had started this story too soon. Usually I have a fanfic in my head for months and form plans with it. However, with this story I only had it in my head for a few days. Realizing my mistake, I took a break to plan my next moves for this story.

I do not own Class of the Titans.

Chapter 3

When Neil stopped laughing Jay asked, "How did you get detention?!"

Odie explained, "Biology was our," he indicated to Neil and himself," last class of the day..."

Archie interrupted, "Of course! Ms. Otyr gave you that detention, didn't she!"

Odie nodded, "Yep. Towards the end of class Neil and I were given our reports."

Neil took out his report and showed it to everyone, "D-, baby!"

Odie took out his own paper and showed it, "She gave me a zero and a detention slip. After class, Neil and I stayed behind to ask why. She said that my report was way too advanced for someone my age to write and that it seemed like an adult wrote it for me. I promised her that I wrote this myself and she told me that she would give my points back if I got a guardian to tell her that I worked on it myself." Archie huffed.

The likelyhood of getting his parents to defend him in time was slim. His parents living so far away means that they might not get his message for help in time. Even if they did, there was no way they could arrive in time and sending her a message from their home would probably not convince Ms. Otyr to release him from the punishment. She would figure his parents truly had no way of knowing for sure he worked on it by himself.

Theresa offered, "Maybe one of the gods will testify for you." She added, "We're already late for training."

Jay walked toward the door, "Then we better get moving."

After training everyone had scaled the building looking for Archie's book. (However, Neil didn't do much work.) It wasn't until they realized how late in the evening it was until they stopped. They all turned their focus to getting Odie out of detention and eventually bumped into Zeus.

After hearing their situation, he replied, "Ms. Otyr? Yes I can talk with her. I'll tell her I witnessed you working on the report. If she asks, Odie, you were working on that report in the library, and I was wiping tables."

Odie looked like he wanted to hug Zeus, but he only said, "I'll remember. Thank you so much!"

"What about Archie?" asked Herry.

Zeus pondered the question, "I could conjure a new one, but something tells me she'd make sure it was in fact the book you were assigned at the beginning of the year. There's a number inside the binder in the textbook. Do you remember it?"

Archie sighed, "No, I don't. You're probably right about her inspecting my book. She doesn't seem too fond of me."

Not too fond of him was an understatement. The first thing she did when he entered the next day was ask him if he had his book.

"No, ma'am." He said the last word in a mock tone. Ms. Otyr scowled as Archie sat in his seat next to Atlanta. "Have you heard if Odie got out of detention?" he whispered.

Atlanta replied, "He got the 100 he deserved, but apparently Zeus was too late to save him from detention. According to Ms. Otyr, the detention had already been finalized."

Ms. Otyr went up to the whiteboard, "Everyone open to page 345." The sound of books opening and pages flipping filled the room as the class followed orders. Atlanta once again shared her book with Archie.

"As I'm sure you children can see we are learning about animal behavior."

One girl raised her hand, "Do you know about the crow vending machines that Mr. Morris mentioned once?" The substitute seemed very confused by the question and had whispered something Archie didn't catch.

"No," was her simple answer to the girl. "Anyway the next couple of weeks are going to look like this..."

Archie began to zone out from her speech and rested his head in his arms as he thought. He tried to think of a teacher that had made him this angry and couldn't think of any. He couldn't help but have this feeling that this teacher wanted to send him to the darkest corner of Tartarus. It seemed like they just naturally hated each other, even before they met. Why that was he had no idea.

He was taken out of his thoughts when Ms. Otyr slammed a new detention slip right in front of Archie. He looked up at her face, which held a fake smile.

"I forgot to give this to you before class. I hope you can forgive me for its late arrival," she told him. Archie looked down at the piece of paper as fury built up inside him. As he glared at the teacher, her smile widened. 'She wants me to be angry,' he realized.

Smiling, took the slip and replied, "I accept your apology Ms. Otyr. Better late then never they say." He smirked at her as he put the paper in his pocket. Her smile disappeared and an 'ooooooo' from a student in the back was heard.

"I'll see you today and tomorrow in detention." Archie saluted before getting back to his own thoughts.

At lunch, all of the heroes sat together. The couples sat by each other as the rest sat on the other side of the table.

Neil told Odie, "I don't see why you're so upset about a detention. It's not like you have to serve two now like Archie."

Herry added between bites, "You still got an A+. That's better than nothing, right?""

Odie shrugged as he played with his food, "I guess."

Jay put down his spoon, "We've dealt with monsters, gods, and titans before. Certainly we can deal with a substitute teacher."

Atlanta lightly shoved Archie, "We won't let her ruin our day off. I'm willing to wait for you both to come back before going out."

Herry raised his hand, "Me too!" He turned to Odie, "Are you going to eat that?" Odie scooched his tray over to Herry, who happily began eating the food.

Theresa offered, "While you guys are here, we can go to the video store and choose a movie. Then when you both get back, we'll all watch it."

Jay agreed, "Sounds like a plan." That's when the bell rang dismissing the students to their next class.

Atlanta placed a hand on Archie's shoulder, "Did you hear what Mrs. Otyr said under her breath?"

"What?" he asked.

"When Paula asked about the crow vending machines, did you hear what the teacher whispered to herself?"

Archie shook his head, "What'd she say?"

"It sounded like she was asking herself what a vending machine was."

Let me know what you all think in the reviews!

Also, on my profile I added a tiny story about how Archie got his fear of water. It's definitely a first draft, and I may or may not add it in another story one day. I figured I might as well share the snip-it with everyone.

Have a nice day! :)
