Hi, guys! I know it's been a while since my last update and that I've left you hanging, but here it is! The final chapter of this story. I hope you won't be disappointed because lately I feel like I've lost my writing mojo. I just had to end this story.
She was walking down the hall to her room after yet another exhausting practice session, meticulously wiping her favourite blade before safely placing it in the sheath hanging from her hips. She then suddenly felt a strong and familiar hand wrap around her wrist and pulling her in one of the many dark corners available in the Institute. She released a gasp when their bodies crashed together and his lips quickly found hers, sucking and biting hungrily. Her slender fingers played in his black hair, twirling and caressing. He moaned against her lips and lifted her legs from underneath her knees, wrapping them around himself. They stopped to catch their breaths, emerald eyes meeting warm brown ones.
"I had to do it. You just looked too hot today during practice. I couldn't take my eyes off of you." he whispered, playing with her whitear hair.
She grinned, showing her small pearl-like teeth. "Stop saying stuff like that. You're embarrassing me." she admonished him.
"Seriously, after the things we did last night... this makes you blush?" he chuckled, his eyes forming two tiny smiles, one of the many things she loved about him.
She hushed him, smacking his arm. "We're in public! Seriously! Have you no decency?" she whisper-shouted.
"Have we met, my love? You know I like to call things what they are." he teased, pressing a light kiss behind her ear.
"Yeah, well, not here, where anyone could hear you!" she replied, slightly pulling his hair.
"Yeah, seriously, Julian. You should listen to my sister. You never know who could be eavesdropping on your impromptuu make out session." they heard a voice and Julian quickly let her slide back up on her legs, both facing the intruder.
"Max..." Julian gulped, not really knowing what one should say to a man whose sister you were pinning against a wall a few seconds earlier.
"Save it. I knew you and Emma had a thing for eachother. I just didn't know how big of a thing." he stated, looking at them lazily with his arms crossed. "But wait till our parents hear about this." he grinned mischievously, his golden eyes shimmering the way they always did when he was about to do something to annoy his beloved sister. He absolutely adored her, but she was so short-tempered and feisty that messing with her was the highlight of his day. With their parents, no wonder she was that way.
"Listen to me, you brat." Emma threatened through gritted teeth. "I don't care that you are my twin brother, I will dismember you, maul you, cut your guts out and display them out in the yard. I will ruin your manga collection and then feed it to the cat."
"I love it when you talk dirty." Julian teased, admiring her, with her blond curly mane and her unrelenting gaze that could kill a weaker soul.
"Now's not the time, Julian." she snapped, menacingly approaching her brother, who was just smiling in a satisfied way, relishing in the pleasure of seeing his little sister (by three minutes, he always reminded her) distressed.
"Well, number one: I hid my manga collection since you dropped them all in the fountain outside last time, and number two: let's see who gets to mom and dad first." he blurted out, breaking into a run. Emma and Julian ran after him, avoiding all the inhabitants they were passing on their way, who just regarded the spontaneous race as an everyday occurance when it came to the twins.
"I will feed you to ravenous demons! Damn you to hell, Max!" Emma yelled, while cursing her short legs which were practically useless against her brother's stork-like legs. Julian passed her and threw himself on Max's back, imobilizing him, just before he was about to enter the dining room, where their parents were all eating. "Gotcha " Julian panted, bringing Max's hands to his back.
"What's happening here?" Isabelle asked, eyeing the three teenagers suspiciously, her arms crossed. Jace, Clary and Simon were watching them intently from the dining room table.
"Nothing, aunt Izzy, just goofing around." Emma intervened, flashing her best Oscar winning smile, placing her hand over her brother's mouth, while he was writhing and thrashing underneath Julian's weight. Isabelle raised her eyebrows. "Mhm..." she hummed, squinting her eyes at them.
"Emma, stop doing that to your brother! Be nice to eachother, by the Angel!" Clary shouted from the dining room. "I swear they haven't allowed me a moment of peace since the day they were born." she whined, rubbing her temples. Jace watched his distressed wife, furrowing his eyebrows. The three culprits simultaneously snapped their heads in his direction when they heard the screeching of his chair and his footsteps approaching.
" You're in trouble now." Isabelle announced in a sing-song voice.
"Emma, let go of your brother." Jace said calmly.
"But dad-" she began, but was cut off by her father's stern look. She sighed and released her grip on Max, while Julian got up and helped Max as well. Maybe Jace would kill him in a merciful way if he showed kindness to his trophy-son.
"And what is the cause of this ruckus?" Jace inquired, reading the expressions of the three.
"Emma and Julian are in love!" Max blurted out, sticking his tongue at his sister who was only able to look at her father with bulging eyes. Julian was trying his best not to shake while Jace's eyes were drilling holes into his entire body. His only hope was that maybe his mother would save him. His mother who... was laughing. He tilted his head with a puzzled look on his face.
"Uuu, really? We had no idea!" she chimed, giggling. Simon and Clary joined the party, trying to catch up.
"You guys knew?" Emma asked in disbelief, looking at her snickering father. He was the best father a girl could have, he was understanding, funny, caring, a good teacher and a role model. But he was protective, overly protective with both her and her mother. And that was one of the reasons why she and Julian had been reluctant to tell everyone about them.
"You two have had crushes on each other since you were practically in diapers. I would have been shocked if you hadn't ended up together." Clary joked, grabbing her daughter's hand. "It's okay, honey. We support you."
"Bbbut dad-" she stammered. "I talked to him. He's... trying" Clary laughed, ruffling her daughter's blond hair.
"This is so exciting, I can't wait to start planning your wedding!" Isabelle sang, clapping her hands.
"WEDDING?" Emma and Julian blurted out, their mouths hanging open.
"Now, Max, what have I told you about sibling rivalry..." Jace began, wrapping one arm around his son's shoulders, taking him away from the crowd for some fatherly advice, while he looked at his mother with pleading eyes.
