Chapter Ten- Game Over
I couldn't believe my ears as I listened to Jake explain what he had done. I knew his hatred for Edward ran deep, but I couldn't believe he did something so reckless. We had received a panicked phone call from Esme explaining what had happened after the phone call. That they expected that Edward had headed for Italy to meet with Volturi asking to be put to death. It was only then that I grasped the severity of the problem. Edward I didn't care about the pack however, if the Volturi got wind of them they'd surely attempt to wipe them out. Edward knew associating with wolves was a suitable crime for death. The possibility of him throwing the pack to the wolves so to speak was high. I needed to do everything in my power to stop him before he got to them. I was a bit upset that my first trip to Italy was to save Edward Cullen's ass.
Alice and Rose insisted on accompanying me, so we packed a bag and hoped in the Corvette speeding toward the Cullen's landing strip where a private jet was waiting on Carlisle's order. Traveling in style at least appealed to me. I sat in a deluxe seat holding a Margarita in one hand as I casually conversed with Alice and Rosalie. The air was rough and the plane shook from the time to time but we flew on. We discussed how lucky I was to have a imprint let alone two. We discussed how Edward was probably the stupidest man on the planet, regardless of his vast intelligence. Time zones changed and day turned to night and back again as the plane entered the continent of Europe. The land was just as beautiful as I had dreamed. Vast countrysides and open spaces as well as huge cities with towering cathedrals.
As the plan rounded the next bend of air the city came into view and it was a dream. The plan landed in the biggest airport I had ever seen and Alice was off the plane before I could blink and Rosalie was right behind her. I downed the rest of my drink and figured I'd better catch up before they got to far away. I grabbed my bag and hopped off the plane and into a car that was waiting. Alice already had started the yellow Convertible when I got in so once my door closed we were off going faster than was even remotely safe. The Airport was outside the city so we drove through the winding bends and into the city. We had to stop almost immediately inside of the city limits because of the people in red cloaks running around. They were walking through the streets so it was probably a festival of some sort that they were celebrating.
The city was crawling with them and it became more and more obvious that we weren't getting through by car. So I hopped out and made my way through the busy crowd shouting Edward's name. Alice had a premonition on the plane so I knew, he was planning on showing himself in the sun. His skin would shine like diamonds and he'd be executed for breaking the Volturi's most basic law. Secrecy. He'd do it in the most public place possible. He'd want as many humans as possible to see it. Not even caring that the only method of containing something this big from being leaked would be to kill all witnesses. He was too caught up in the loss that plagued him. The bastard was morning a living person. He was going to get hundreds of others killed for no reason, he was going to leave them to die because he was selfish.
It was one of our problems. He was the most controlling and selfish people I had ever met. Being around him made me happy at the time but looking back on it now, the guy had watched me sleep almost every night, that screamed creepy stalker not true love. So I shoved people out of my way to get to the clock tower to stop him from getting my friends and my imprints killed as well as all these people killed, one thing hit me. It was my fault. I had brought this on myself and all the others. I had refused to leave well enough alone. I had wanted to know what was going on with the Cullens, had been intrigued by them. God. What an annoying mess of a person I was back then. It wasn't a wonder that I had few to no friends until recently. I would have even hated me. But as the clock tower came into view I saw it strike noon.
I saw his pale chest as he came close to the door way. As he began to step outside. Not knowing what else I could do I tackled him back inside with all my strength. He opened his eyes and looked at me in shock before a guard pulled us apart and dragged us off. He didn't speak till we came to a room in a nicely finished buildings. He only told us where we were and said Aro would see us now. We entered the large gold plated room and noticed Alice and Rosalie were there already. That's when I first saw them, one with platinum hair and pale skin who looked at me with a scorn of superiority, his eyes a smokey gray. The one on the other end of the row was brunette he had almost a kind face that despite the situation was oddly comforting to see right now.
The one in the middle however, I knew he must be Aro. The most intimidating vampire in the room for sure. His eyes landed on me at once and he looked like he wanted to say something. However he held his tongue. He looked at the others with looks of mild interest but nothing like what he had shown me, he seemed to think I was special. The group of elders gazed at us for a long time. It seemed like it wasn't going to end until the door opened and their attention shifted toward it. From the look of the two who joined us I recognized the two as twins Jane and Alec. The two most fearsome Volturi guard members. They had powers of pain and sight so they turned the tide in a war to their leaders favor very quickly. They joined their leaders and stood off to the sides of their thrones and looked at us as well. Finally, Aro spoke.
"Isabella. Alive and well. Edward here wanted us to end his life because of his belief in your death and yet here you stand." Aro said with a smile that was neither kind nor friendly.
"What can I say my 'lord' rumors of my death were greatly exaggerated." I replied sarcastically.
" Yes it would seem so. But there is still the issue of what to do with you. Young Edward assures us he can't read your mind, would you mind child , if I took the opportunity to check our powers as well?" He asked.
"Not at all go right ahead." I told him as I walked right up to him and took his offered hand.
He took her palm in his and tried to shuffle through her thoughts only to be tossed out. He looked startled by this and reared back.
"Outstanding." He said giggling. "Alec, Jane. If you'd please try." He suggested.
Edward growled from next to me breaking free and charging at Jane with a "Leave her alone." Jane side stepped him before mumbling a simple "Pain." Causing Edward to collapse in agony before Felix came up from behind and plucked his head clean off before smashing it with his boot. Edward Cullen's life ended as his head exploded under Felix's strength and his body crumbled to what resembled diamond dust. Alice had tears streaming down her face while Rosalie look indifferent. I just shook my head. The idiot just had to do that. I was immune. To the effects of Jane's power yet Edward felt the need to anger her knowing what she'd do. He died because of his own stupidity and ego. Even at the end he didn't understand I wasn't an object. His death was avoidable but he took it in his own hands.
Jane turned her eyes on me with a smirk and mumbled "Pain" once more only to frown and then silently boil with rage when her power failed her. She screamed in rage as she lounged for me. I collided my fist wither face dazing the teen girl before snapping her neck to the side and pulling as hard as I could her head join the remains of Edward's on the floor. My fist went through it with a crunch. My bones breaking echoed through the room as the youngest twin, Alec, try to process things. He looked at his sister's body crumbling before his eyes tears coming down his face as he howled in agony at the loss. His eyes locked on me before Aro put a hand on his shoulder to hold him back. He seemed pissed and then calmed suddenly. His eyes still shedding tears for his family.
There was a short escape attempt that began with me running for the door before I was caught and ended with Aro's voice.
"She is a good one. Her powers will be great as an Immortal and that is my judgment." As he spoke the vampire holding my sunk his fangs in my neck as the other two were forced to watch and my world went black.

Lily Greene looked up from her book her eyes becoming unfocused. Her lips curled into a smile and she knew. She knew everything would soon come to pass. Bella's life would soon change forever. But she felt something else, or rather someone else.
"My son. Welcome home my sweet baby boy. My Harry."

A plane from UK Airline landed in the Seattle Airport. Emerald eyes looked at the mysterious and new surroundings with wonder and confusion. The boy's companion who had beautiful caramel colored locks stroked his shoulder comfortingly as they landed. Her warm brown eyes filling with concern. Her husband's mother was alive and she chose the state that had the most rain to hide out in? As they exited the plane it was obvious that a lot had changed for them over the summer. Yes for Harry and Hermione Potter life had been quite complicated as of late. If only they knew, it was just the beginning.
Shattered Glass: Finale
Pain; All I could register was pain. My body felt as though a ocean of fire was running through my veins. The venom worked hard turning my cells to stone and my blood to ice. I felt it all. My teeth became sharper as did my appearance. My eyes and lips took on a somewhat fuller look. The brown became more red my hair darkening by at least two shades. The pure agony was almost unbearable. But as the changes slowed and the pain lessened I felt better. I felt more alive than ever before, and when I opened my eyes I stared right into a mirror positioned in front of my face. They were blood red.
