Farlan is settled comfortably beneath the covers of his blankets, engaged in some light recreational reading. The brown leather-bound books were found abandoned in a dusty corner of the trainee corps classroom, unused, and so he decides to utilize them for his own purposes. Most of these books were written observations and early theories on the titans, though not all of them. He discovered the detailed novel on politics that he is currently reading, thoroughly engrossed within its contents… that is… until the abrupt sound of the cabin door slamming open shatters his train of thought. A short figure staggers awkwardly into the room. He quickly recognizes him as Levi, except his entire face is smeared in alarmingly dark, gruesome blood.
The book is violently tossed aside, momentarily to be forgotten. Farlan rushes to his companion's aid and catches him beneath his arms just before Levi loses his balance. The shorter man grunts in response.
"What the hell happened to you?" asks Farlan, setting him on the bottom of the bunk bed. "You look pretty roughed up. I don't understand… you didn't lose a fight, did you?" Absolutely impossible. Erwin might be able to take him on, but why would he do this?
"Not exactly," he murmurs and pinches his nose in an attempt to stop the bleeding. "Find me a towel. This is fucking disgusting." Farlan complies, still obviously flustered. There sure was a hell of a lot of the gooey red fluid. He patiently watches as Levi cleans himself.
"Did you speak with Isabel?" he asks.
"No."
"Wasn't that the reason you went out?"
"Yes."
"So get to the point, dumbass. Who beat the snot out of you?" Farlan takes a seat beside him, a strange gleam twinkling in his grey eyes. "I've never seen you walk like your nuts are on fire."
Levi gives him the dirtiest glare he can muster. "I ran into Petra Ral. That's what happened."
"Okay." What did that mean?
He drops the soiled towel from his face, studying it with narrowed eyes. He is quiet for a while longer and then explodes into a torrent of words: "I got lost, alright? I couldn't find Isabel, so I tried a few doors and… well, one of them was the girls' changing rooms."
"Ah." Farlan sees where the conversation is heading. "Then you saw her?"
"I saw everything," Levi admits in a tone that is somewhat reminiscent of guilt. "I don't remember much." (This is a lie)
Farlan scratches his chin with the makings of a broad grin. "So she nails you in the face and kicks your manhood. Damn, what a woman!" he teases lightly.
Levi shrugs. He doesn't care to explain that the nosebleed actually happened in the ten seconds before Petra's punch.
