Red Leader swirled the hat that held the names of the team members. He gave a mild annoyed sigh.

Punisher = kill more stupid mob guys

Electra = Kill stupid ninjas

Red Hulk = Make an old man's guilt ridden near death experience a little less guilt ridden.

Venom = Find the last unicorn.

He sighed to himself again and didn't even calculate the odds of whose name he just pulled. He passed the folded paper to Rulk. To be honest, it was kind of funny watching him try to open it in is behemoth state. It did warrant an internal giggle from the genius. He almost wanted to hate himself for finding humor in the most childish of antics.

Rulk arched a brow. "Venom. Looks like you're the winner." He said throwing his name back into the hat. "What's the mission." He stood and crossed his arms, too large for the chairs.

Venom leaned forward, his hand though his blonde hair. "Okay, I'm gonna say it. It's been two weeks." The room groaned. "He's our team mate, we have a responsibility." Frank gave a dead look while Electra just looked board. "They kidnapped them. We have to help."

Frank rested his head on a fist. "Okay. Fine. Where are they?" Flash opened his mouth but closed it slowly.

Electra arched a brow. "What's the extraction plan?"

Flash looked around the room quickly. "go get em…?"

Rulk sighed. "All opposed." Frank and Electra held their hand up and said 'neigh' in unison. "Neigh's have it. New name." he said looking at Red Leader.

"Guys." Flash pleaded again.

"Guys?" Scott yelled in the empty halls of the institute. He gave a confused look around. The place was freakishly silent as the young man started to wonder the halls. He heard something and walked towards it. In the security room, there were ten monitors all showing the same movie.

Jean was the first to notice his presence even if she was in the middle of a conversation with Hank. She waved at him as the movie about snow in the middle of summer and two sisters shared a smile.

"Oh thank God that's over." Wade said he jumped up to change the movie.

Bobby readjusted his pillows. "Dude, it's a classic."

"It's like two weeks old." Wade retorted and wanted to microwave the DVD.

"The story's a classic. It's by Hans Christian Anderson about-"

"Cool story, bro. My move time." He announced gathering everyone attention. All of the X-kids were in civilians and sitting on cushions on the floor or in stuffed chairs. Each person had a bowl of popcorn, at Jeans insist, and a drink, ready for the new movie. "Did you know one of our resident X-Men is a movie star?"

Everyone gave an unbelievable 'what' even Celine, but it was David Bond/Hijack who stood up. "Whoa, what kind of movie is this?" he asked with a bit of a worry seeing as how the two older female X-Mens 'how to wash tag' was probably the largest piece of cloth on their outfits.

"Relax dude, it's a horror movie." David seemed to relax slightly as he retook his seat. "It's called Thirty Days and Nights. Jeanie, get the lights." With a simple mind blast, all the light switches were turned off.

When the movie started, it was silent. When it was revealed that X-23 was a star, a few of the kids whooped, even if she accidently not invited to the film night. Wade threw popcorn at the screens when the villain was revealed.

Morph leaned into David. "This movie sucks. Talk about a shoe string budget."

David shrugged. "Whatever dude. It can be your turn after this. Until then, support Laura in her other business." A girl in a hawk outfit broke her neck and landed on the ground. "That's actually pretty good graphics."

"Oh, by the way," Wade announced from his small mountain of pillows, "it's a lil dark. Gent's, get yer spoonin buddy."

Scott looked at Jean who only bashfully looked away causing him to do the same. Before he could come up with anything, Hank put his hand on her hip and offered for a seat. Realizing that he was indeed the third wheel, he took a seat next to Warren who, because of his wings, was forced to sit in the back. After exchanging a fully understandable head nod, they watched the movie.

After an hour, Scott felt the best part of the movie had already passed. The red guy, Mettle gave his life for everyone. Even though they were all doomed, he still surrendered his life to buy them enough time to escape. But, Cammi was kind of a bad ass.

It was a forest scene and X-23 was tracking her buddy. Scott turned in his seat to see the small light of the open door. Laura looked at him then the screen. He gave a small smile then watched the movie. Scott gave a small smirk when Mettle came back. Hazmat was so excited to see him but then he sprayed her with X's trigger scent. Laura looked absolutely crazy. Kind of like Mr. Logan after he smelled-

Scott turned around to see Laura looking absolutely terrified. She noticed his glance and instantly removed any fear from her face. Scott lowered his brows and watched the movie. The entire area was covered in her trigger scent. She stalked each person, caused them all to fear her, and worse, her claws were drenched in blood. Her eyes were red, and she only saw the target.

"Cullen" Cammi said on the screen after firing eight rounds into her, "its, X-23, I can't stop her."

Scott turned again to look at her. She was forcing herself to watch the screen without emotions. The other students started to notice she was in the room. They all gave her a thumbs up or a congratulatory nod except or the time displaced X-men. Well, except Bobby. Warren noticed the tension in Scott as Hank noticed the scent of fear on Jean. Wade heard the rumor and stood up. "When's it start getting good?" Laura just arched a brow and continued to watch the screen as Cullen turned into a monster and attached her. She severed a claw like it was nothing.

Laura turned and left the room silently. Scott noticed and followed her out. "Laura," he whispered in the hall knowing she could hear him, but she kept walking away. He started to run after her. "Laura."

She turned quickly popping her claws ad forcing him to come to a complete stop. She scowled at him waiting for him to speak. He looked at her face and didn't know how to respond. She dropped her gaze first and snaked her claws at her side.

Scott took a step closer. "That's not fiction, is it?" Laura didn't respond or even look at him. "Why didn't you tell us?"

Her eyes hardened. "Because it is the exact reason I cannot be here and the reason I am trapped here."She stepped away from him. "If someone is wearing my trigger scent, I will kill them without hesitation. I cannot fight it and I cannot control myself. Until recently, my programming goes deeper. I have control phrases, trigger sets, if someone says them, I loose control and I become a puppet again." She took another step away from him. "I am too dangerous to stay here."

Scott was silent for a moment. "I used to feel the same way."

"We're not the same." She bit out. "You'll grow to control your power. I'll always be an animal." She said over her shoulder as she walked away.

Scott stood in the hall like an idiot. "I'm sorry about killing all your friends." Now, he's an idiot.

Laura stopped walking. "Go watch the movie." She kept walking and turned the corner to see Deadpool standing with his arms in the air like he was about to kidnap her. She gave a confused look. Wade opened his mouth but Laura silenced him, waiting for Scott to go back to the movie. When the door closed behind him, she punched him in the jaw, knocking him back.

She reared back for another punch only to have him grab her by the throat against the wall and pull her off the floor. Laura popped her claw to cut off his arm. Instead he took a knife and thrust it so hard into her neck, that it actually hit the stud in the wall. Laura kind of dangled there for a moment, clawing at her throat, begging for air. When her body weight released her from the wall, she gave a slight growl and he scoffed. "Will you stop? Seriously."

But Laura wanted the anger. It's because of him she's trapped here with a bunch of teens whose worst memory is just knowing their mommy is dead. Whose most vile act of villainy is disobeying one of precious Scott Summers orders. She hated this place and the people that filled it. She was sick of their looks, the whispers they think she can't hear, the training, and all the ridiculous drama. Sick of it all.

Wade grabbed her by the wrists and pulled up enough so her toes were off the ground. "Look, you have a healing factor, I have a healing factor, lets just put this all-" she stopped fighting and just dangled in his hands. "X?" he released her hands and let her fall to the floor. "Get the fuck over it. As far as they know, your biggest secret is that you're a low budget actor. They don't know anything about the island, so you can stop hiding." Laura didn't move. Her hands were in her lap and her back against the wall. "I mean, Its not like you killed em. Which totally wouldn't work for phase two. Would help though."

He looked down at her. She was zoned out in emo land. He knelt down before her and pulled her hair back to make her look up. "Focus. We need to build allies, you moping aint gonna help."

"What does it matter?" she asked barely above a whisper.

He smirked at her question and released her hair. "Remember that chaos that you can't live without?" Laura looked at him and arched a confused brow. "The one that will drag you kicking and screaming for the rest of your life?" His smirk grew into a full smile at the mere thought of it. "Just do what I need you to do."

"I am not you."

Wade rolled his eyes. "No, but you're just as pissed off as I am." That caught her attention. "Weapon X made us into animals, and the X-idiots stay here parading it like it's a war cry." For a fleeting moment, the anger that was behind his eyes was obvious as he spoke only to be washed away by a charming smile. "So," he lifted her chin with his fore fingers, "do what I need you to do."

She moved her chin away from his hand and arched a brow. Everything about him was chaotic even his plans. She couldn't ask and she did give him full control. But looking at the smile, she began to wonder where her loyalties lied. Cyclops was keeping her here, but Deadpool was liable to kill every sole in this compound. Laura swallowed hard. Control him, or freedom?

Laura gave a small nod to the mercenary. He offered a hand to let her stand. "Keep doing your thing. You'll know when I need help."

Laura awoke the next morning, yawned, and went to the restroom that was adjacent to her room. While sitting on the toilet, she glanced at the mirror, and squinted. She cleaned herself, and stepped towards it. There was a small red light. She looked behind her, it wasn't reflecting, meaning-

Laura rolled her eyes and put her hands on either side of the two foot by three foot mirror and tried to move it. It moved easily and only held to the wall by the bracers.

She rolled her eyes and removed the mirror from the wall. Inside, was a small nook that should've belonged to a medicine cabinet. Inside, was a camera, it was recording. She released an annoyed breath when she saw it was sitting on top of explosives. She sucked her teeth and looked at the wiring. The set up was obvious. She cut the wires and changed into presentable clothes before removing the explosive.

She walked it down to the danger room only for Wade to be sitting outside the room in full uniform sharpening a knife against a wet stone. He gave it lick then smirked at her package. She gave him an annoyed look as she walked past and set it in the room, and securely closed the door when she left.

Wade stood beside her as she gazed into the window of the room. "Where'd ya find it?"

"Where you put it." She said unamused as she held her hand out to him. He gave an innocent smile but eventually gave her the detonator for the bomb. She gave a slight thanks and pushed the button.

A loud explosion went off behind her. Laura turned to see a cloud of dust built in the security room behind her. She looked at the detonator in her hand then at the Merc who was wearing the biggest smile possible, then at the cloud. It took Laura a few moment to get her lungs full of oxygen to yell at the Mercenary. "You son of a bitch! Do you have any idea on what you've done?"

He just smiled as she held the collar of his spandex. "Me, you're the one that pushed the button."

"Laura" a voice call. Laura and Wade both turned to see Kitty phase through the floor in nothing but panties and an undershirt. "What have you done?" she yelled.

Laura looked at the detonator still in her hand, then at Wade, then gave an annoyed growl. Kitty ran into the room to make sure no one was in there. Laura wanted to break the detonator, to throw it in his face. But he only arched a brow and gave a mirthful smile.

"What the hell happened?" the older Scott yelled as he entered the hall with a handful of other X-Men. "Was anyone hurt?"

Kitty came out the room. "No one was in the security room. Laura," she started but seemed to have lost all ability to communicate.

Scott turned Laura furiously and saw the detonator in her hand. He shoved her against the wall. "What were you thinking? You could've hurt someone."

Laura kept her hate filled eyes on Wade. She played right into his trap and hated him for it. She should call him out. Tell everyone it was his fault. Laura paused. Deadpool didn't care about the rules. If he wanted people to know it was him, he would've been holding it or simply told them. Or rather, he wants her to blame him. What's he playing at?

Scott poked two fingers into the pocket of her shoulder. "What were you thinking?"

Laura turned her attentions to the leader. "Surprise sky light. Do you not like it?" She asked sarcastically.

Scott's mouth hung agape for a moment. He closed his mouth then tried to form a sentence but also lacked the ability speak.

"She's lying." The Cuckoos stated in unison behind the leader.

"Deadpool planted the explosives here and in her room." Celsie explained. "He knew she would find the ones in her chambers, and when she would detonate those safely, she would actually detonate an explosion she wasn't aware of."

Celine swallowed hard. "This was a ploy to further his agenda."

Scott stood straight and looked at the red and black clad mercenary that was dressed in full attire to include his katanas. "And what exactly is his plan?"

Wade tilted his head slightly and smiled. "Go ahead ladies, why don't you tell em."

There was a pause before Emma spoke up behind Scott. "Enough. Deadpool, you know I will not allow my girls to even think about going into that chaotic, consuming landfill you call a conscious. It could drive them insane even to look at it. You are too dangerous to be kept here. For the safety of these children, you must leave."

Deadpool shrugged. "Fine." He smiled as he spoke. "I get it. Really, I do. But," he reached a hand out and pulled Laura to his chest, his hand wrapping around her throat while his other hand held a sword at her heart "I'm taking my prize with me."

Emma looked at the situation. Laura was frightened, but wouldn't show it. Her emotions were mixed between anger, fear, and revenge. Emma took a step back. "I'm sorry Laura, but I am willing to sacrifice one life for the good of everyone else here."

"I'm not." Scott said, taking his place as the leader. "If we let them go, Deadpool will kill Laura."

Wade smiled. "Hear that?" he whispered in her ear, "I have a chance."

"Don't be a fool." Erik almost yelled. "It is plain that X is his puppet. You brought them here to train, but they don't. You brought her here to socialize, but she doesn't. It was a fools notion to think these tigers can change their stripes. You think the clone of that brute Wolverine can be anything more than an animal. You think the rejected science project will change?"

Scott cut his hand through the air. "That's enough."

"No." Erik argued as he took a few furious steps toward the leader. "I will not be silenced by this any longer. They are a danger and a liability. Both of them have proven they do not care for our ways, our life styles nor our choices. Keeping them here risks our students livelihood, security, and all around sanity. We need to get rid of them."

"They have to stay." Scott told the older man.

"No." She looked at Laura and pushed herself though her mental shields. "Get out." Laura only looked behind her at the man that was holding her throat but didn't move. Emma tried again but was cut off by Scott.

"Emma, No. That's not what we do."

"Silence, it will just take a moment." Emma said softly as Laura was fighting her. Blood was running down the girls face from her nose and eyes. "Stop fighting, Laura."

"Ya know," Wade said, holding Laura up against his body, "If you kill my hostage, I'll just kill everyone else, right? And this bitch is stubborn, so-"

"Silence. Girls, if you don't mind." Emma added gently as if she was asking some menial favor.

"Stop it." The younger Scott yelled from the back. But it was Jean to silenced him. "This is wrong."

Jean just shook her head. "The movie we watched last night wasn't a movie. It was a documentary. That stuff actually happened." The other students overheard her and started to listen. "She really is dangerous. If we let her stay, she could kill is all. And Deadpool is no better. I've seen his conscious, it's beyond depraved. Scott, we have to get rid of them or they could kill us all."

"No, she's just-" he paused looking for the word "alone."

"Emma" the older Scott yelled. "Stop this. You do this, you're no better than the people who made her."

Emma glowing blue eyes were turned to him now. "Unlike you, who only saw a machine? A weapon against our enemies."

"That's not what I said."

"Yes, it is."

Scott lamented for a moment. "Not like that. They're supposed to protect us against our enemies. Laura is supposed to protect us against Wolverine and the Avengers while Deadpool" he stopped as he looked at the man.

Wade arched a brow. "Kills them." He finished for Cyclops. The argument seemed to stop between the two.

Scott ground his teeth. "We X-Men cannot kill unless absolutely necessary."

"And I'm not an official X-Man. Making what I do, my own responsibilities." Cyclops didn't respond. "So that's why I'm here."Laura sagged in Wades arms and he let her fall to the floor. He only arched a brow at the White Queen. HE gave a disapproving sound. "Looks like you killed my hostage." He said lightly as he put the flat of his blade on his shoulder. "Know what that means, right?"

The younger Scott ran from the back of the group to the front and stood between the arguing adults.

Wade arched a brow. "Get out of the way kid." He warned.

The boy didn't move. His entire body was shaking out of fear, but he stood his ground. "Let them stay."

But it was Jean who gave the argument. "No. They're dangerous. On top of being wanted fugitives, you want to allow psychopaths to stay here. You're out of your mind."

"Maybe." The younger Scott said. "But Hank, the blue furry one, said he brought us back to spark hope. The hope that we-" he paused again, "hope that we would create hope for the future. You don't do that by doing what you've always done. You have to make changes, adapt, be flexible."

Bobby scoffed. "hard to make changes when you got two claws in your abdomen."

"Tue, but hope is like trust. You have to give it to receive it." Scott looked over his shoulder to see Laura pushing herself up onto her elbows.

Erik grunted. "Scott, you speak of matters you don't understand."

"I know you think I'm a kid-"

"You have no idea of what they are capable of." Emma argued.

"Do any of us know what we are capable of? Do any of you know what you're capable of?" the youth retorted. "Since I've been here, I've read reports of how some of the people closest to me have turned to darkness. How even Magneto joined Xavier's battle. Do you mean to tell me that you are willing to kick out mutants based on the fear of what they might do? Isn't that the same racial stereotypical hypocrisy we're here to fight?" The group seemed to get silent as they all looked at their feet. "They have to stay here. If we can't believe in them, then who can we." The youngest version looked at the older. "You must have seen something worth saving."

The older Scott put a hand on Emma's shoulder. "They have to stay."

The blonde woman shook his hand off. "Why?"

"When we were at the school, everyone saw Laura and Deadpool. If anyone finds out our location, they will bring an army or two with them just for those two. If neither of them are here, we leave ourselves open to their attack. We need them. As chaotic and ridiculous as this might be, we need them to stay here."

Emma's eyes were aflame of anger. "What do you suggest?"

"The brigg." Illayna said sternly. Everyone turned to look at the blonde Russian woman who was resting against the back wall. "We put them in the brig and only release them in times of great crisis."

Laura was on her feet. "No." Laura grunted as Wade helped her to stand. "I would rather die at his hand then to be locked up and told to kill on command."

Wade didn't hear her though. "We'll take it."

Her cell door closed and Laura gave a duck face. "One day," she said to Deadpool who was in the cell next to hers, "I will kill you."

"Yea, we'll see about that." He said happily.

That caught her attention. She lowered her brows and thought. "Why did you want to come down here?"

Wade just smiled at her and looked at the next cell. "Hey, you're that kid. What's up."

Daniels looked up from his SAT book with a confused look. "Me?"

"Yea. Donald right?" the boy nodded. "Well, the big terrible Scott Summers has also deemed us too dangerous for his after school special forces so I guess we're about to be bestest friends. But I get the "BES FRI" part of the necklace."

The boy seemed to smirk at the comment. "I'm sorry, who are you?"

"Names Wade Wilson, Deadpool, aka Merc with a Mouth, Regenerating Degenerate, Crimson Comedian, Superhero Supreme, and King Slayer." The boy gave an amused look. "I added the last one. Buddies call me Wade or Deadpool." Wade looked at Laura. "That's Laura Kennedy, or X-23 aka Wolverette, She-verine, Talon…" Donald gave another confused look. "She's Wolverines daughter/clone."

She could feel the boys excited gaze on her. Laura laid her head on the bars of her cell door. Great. Laura arched a brow then smirked. This might actually be easier than she thought.
