Elise was bored.
She had no one to play with, since her Aunt Anna was with her Uncle Kristoff, Kai and Gerda were busy roaming around the castle and making sure everything was in order, Olaf wasn't in the castle and her mama was being boring by doing paper works.
Tired of her dolls, she roamed around the castle, walking around the west wing where Elsa's and her rooms were. The three year old noticed the open door of her mother's room, so she happily invited herself in, high hopes of seeing her mother done with her work and ready to play.
Lo and behold, she was correct. Elsa had her back turned towards her, her head practically buried in paperwork. Elise, not noticing anything wrong with it, ran towards her mother, accidentally grabbing her left arm.
At that time, she was just about to dive her quill in the ink bottle, but was knocked down due to Elise grabbing her writing arm. The document was drenched in ink, and it was coincidentally one of here important ones that did not have another copy.
"Elisabeth!" Elsa yelped, standing up and grabbing a small towel that was supposedly for her hands by her desk to absorb as much of the ink as possible. The document was soaked through, nothing was decipherable. She controlled her ice to the best of her ability, but the rebel frost spread across the desk and around her feet.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Elise yelled, tears streaming down her face. She's never seen her mother so angry before. She started backing up, but not before making a little accident.
Elsa saw all of this, and as she sensed her daughter's fear, she started breathing deeply, immediately defrosting the floor and the desk behind her. When she saw the liquid trailing down her daughter's legs and pooling around her on the floor, she was almost in tears herself.
"Baby," Elsa breathed, stepping closer to her daughter, only to have her walking backwards further.
"Don't be angry, mama," she hiccuped, her lisp becoming more prominent. "It was an 'ccident." She was standing against a corner, the warm liquid starting to feel uncomfortable as the wet patches on her underwear and stockings rubbed against her skin.
"Shh, Elise, can you come to me?" Elsa crooned, kneeling on the floor, making sure to avoid the puddle that Elise had created. When Elise shook her head in fear, Elsa started to crawl towards her daughter, only to have her hide further into the corner. "Mama's not angry."
Elsa finally reached her daughter, gently putting her hand on her shoulder, only to have her flinch away.
"I'm sorry, mama," Elise cried. "I'm sorry. I be good."
"Oh, baby," Elsa breathed, her tears finally falling. She gathered Elise in her arms. She was fussing and squirming at first, but eventually relaxed, sobbing into her mother's chest.
"Mama's going to clean you up, alright?" Elsa crooned, kissing her forehead first before picking her up in her arms. She went to her washroom and started to undress her daughter. When she pulled down her stockings, Elise whimpered.
"Are you gonna spank me, mama?" Elise whispered, her eyes closed tight, as if she was expecting it. Elsa couldn't help but choke back a sob. She's never had to discipline her daughter before, nor did she ever had any experience being physically disciplined by her own parents.
"No, baby. Mama will never do that." Elsa reassured her, finally slipping her soiled stockings and underwear off, but not without a bit of fuss.
"Are you gonna give me back, mama?" Elise sobbed, her grammar deteriorating. "I be real good, mama. Don't give me back, please. I be good."
While she was saying this, Elsa was lowering her down in the tub, kneeling down to her level, scrubbing her legs with soap. When she heard her daughter's voice crack at the last word, she put down the soap and breathed heavily.
"I need you to look at me, Elise." Elsa said, gently but sternly. When her daughter didn't budge, she tilted her daughter's head up with a sud-covered finger under her chin. "Baby, look at mama."
When Elise didn't tear her gaze away from Elsa, she started. "Baby, I love you very much and I'm sorry for reacting the way I did. I didn't mean to scare you like that. But regardless, I need you to ingrain it in your mind that I'm never, ever going to give you back. No matter what you do or what you say, you're not going to go back there. Am I clear?"
"Yes, mama." Elise said earnestly. She was determined not to disappoint her mother again. "You're clear."
"But I did instruct you that you are not to go in my quarters when I'm working, correct?" Elsa said, making sure she cleaned her daughter thoroughly before washing the soap off by motioning her to stand up and rinsing her with more water. Elise hung her head low, nodding sullenly.
"That means no dessert for a week. And I need you to promise me that you're going to knock first before entering my quarters, alright?" Elsa decided upon that punishment, figuring that wetting herself was punishment enough. She picked her daughter up from the tub, wrapping her in a warm towel and carrying her over to her quarters but not before bumping into Anna.
"Hey there, Elsa. Forgot Elise's clothes again?" Anna mused, knowing that when her sister bathes her daughter in her quarters, she more often than not forgets to bring her daughter's clothes beforehand, resulting in a handful of episodes of Elise running to her room naked with Elsa chasing after her with a towel.
"You can say that," Elsa said, not wanting to embarrass her daughter by revealing the truth. When Anna came close to ask for a kiss from Elise, she was quite surprised to see her with red, puffy eyes, and sniffling.
"What happened?" Anna asked, concern lacing her tone. Elise buried her head in Elsa's chest, shaking her head.
"I'll put you down for a nap, alright, little love?" Elsa whispered to her daughter, kissing her forehead. She diverted her attention back to her sister, mouthing 'I'll tell you later' to her before entering Elise's room, leaving Anna on her own. With a soft sigh, she walked to the portrait room, knowing her sister would most likely find her there.
Back in Elise's room, Elsa was dressing her daughter in a casual dress since it was only a little after noon.
"Mama?" Elise said in a small voice, as if she was afraid. Elsa was tucking her under a light blanket, sitting down by her side when she heard her daughter shyly calling for her.
"Hmm?" Elsa answered gently, stroking her daughter's hair. "What do you need?"
"Can I have a hug, mama?" Elise asked shyly. Elsa's chest constricted, her heart feeling heavy that her daughter had to ask for comfort instead of simply going for it. Elsa wrapped the blanket loosely around her daughter before settling her in her arms, holding her as if she was a new born.
"You don't have to ask for that, baby. You know I'll always give you hugs," Elsa reassured her, holding her daughter's swaddled form close to her chest.
"You give the warmest hugs," Elise commented. "Aunt Anna's warm, but you're warmer." Elsa couldn't respond to that verbally; all she could do was press her lips against her daughter's head, screwing her eyes tight so her tears wouldn't fall. No one's ever told her she was warm before.
"I love you, baby girl," Elsa whispered, rocking Elise to lull her to sleep . Elise yawned as she shifted in her arms, snuggling closer to her mother.
"Love you, mama."
Sorry for the delay. College stuff, y'know.
