Well, after all of you asked so nicely, You convinced me to add one more chapter and an Epilogue (that'll be a bit later). So, here it is. It's a bit different.
-2 years later-
"Papa!" Carla shouted. She ran into her parent's private study in the castle.
Startled, he looked up from his work, at his 5 year old daughter. "What is it, snowflake?"
She started at him, determined. "Where do babies come from?"
He stared at her in shock. "Why… why do you want to know that?" He stuttered.
"Cause." She said, pouting.
"Uh, right. Um, well." He looked over at his wife. Elsa's shoulders were shaking from silent laughter. He glared at her.
"Well. When two people love each other…" He started.
Carla listened, "Yes?"
He cleared his thought. "Yes, when two people love each other, then-"
Carla tapped her foot impatiently. "Papa, you already said that part."
"Right. Of course I did. How silly of me. The snow king who repeats his sentences. Quite the scandal, really-"
"Papa!" Carla exclaimed. "Will you please just answer the question?"
Next to him, Elsa burst out laughing.
Carla frowned. "Why is momma laughing?
Jack kept glaring at Elsa. Finally, she calmed down. "Why don't you go look for your brother, snowflake?"
Carla brightened at the thought, and took off in search for him.
Jack sighed. "That was horrible. She is five! Where, how did she even think of that!?"
"Oh, I think you were doing great!" She said, grinning at him.
He chucked a piece of paper at her, which she froze mid-air, throwing it back at him.
-10 years later-
Ryan was training outside. It was raining like crazy, but he was running laps anyway. He had become rather obsessed with sport lately.
Elsa frowned, moving away from her spot at the window, where she could watch him. "He is going to catch a cold!" She said, concerned.
"Really, Elsa? You know that that is physically impossible, right?" Jack commented.
She sighed. "I just wish that he would take care of himself more."
Jack laughed. "He's fine. I'm pretty sure the only reason he is training so much is Princess Rosalie."
Elsa's eyes widened. "B-but he is too young to be i-in love!"
Jack chuckled. "He's four years younger than me."
"No, he is 320 years younger than you." Elsa said, annoyed.
"Hey!" Jack pouted. "I look pretty good for 337, don't you think?"
She rolled her eyes. "Of course." She said in a sarcastic tone.
He smirked. "Isn't a certain snow queen turning 40 this year?"
"I…uhm…" Elsa blushed, looking away. He walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. She put her arms around his neck loosely, but didn't meet his eyes.
"Hey." He tilted her chin up, so she had to look at him. "You're beautiful, you know that?"
She blushed even redder, making him laugh. He kissed her cheek, then the tip of her nose. "I love the fact that I can still make you blush like that. I love you."
Elsa smiled. "Isn't someone being sentimental today?"
"Something wrong with that?" He asked, grinning.
She shook her head, and kissed him. He tangled his hands in her hair, pushing her gently against the wall. She tightened her grip on him in response, pulling him closer.
Their daughter chose this exact moment to burst into the room.
"Momma! Papa! Have you seen-" She stopped dead in her tracks. Her parents were kissing, against a wall. Kissing a lot.
She ran out of the door, shouting, "I've been traumatized for life! Ryaaaan, heeelp!"
She found him outside, training again. "Ryan!" She shouted over the thunder. He grinned when he saw her, sprinting in her direction. They were so close; they really couldn't live without each other. He was her second half, and vice versa. They would study together, take lessons together, read, paint, they were pretty much inseparable.
"Hey!" He shouted, crushing her in a hug.
"EW!" She screamed, pushing him away. "You're soaking!"
He stuck his tongue out, and she punched his shoulder.
"So, what was so urgent?" He asked, taking a towel a servant offered him with a thank you.
She told him what she saw, and he looked horrified.
-10 years later-
"Lucy?" Carla called through the gardens. She was 25 now, and her brother was going to be crowned king in five years.
"Yeah?" She heard her cousin call. She found her standing next to the pond, talking to little ducklings.
"Aren't you so cute? Yes, of course you are, you are sooo fuzzy and sweet, just look at you! You're radiating fluffiness! Oh my, and your little feet, they're so orange and webby! I can't get over how fuzzy you are either, just-"
"LUCY!" She couldn't believe it. Her 26 year old married and pregnant cousin was freaking out over fuzzy ducks. They were really fuzzy, but that's beside the point.
"How's Arthur?" Carla asked.
Lucy gazed into the distance dreamily. "Yeah, he's awesome."
"Uh, okay." She wasn't really sure what she was supposed to say to that. "How long still?" She asked.
"Three months!" She squealed excitedly. "Arthur and I were thinking maybe Josie for a girl and Jakob for a boy, but maybe Jason. What do you think?"
"Uh, Jason's nice." Carla said, unsure.
"Oh, look at me, talking crazy like this." Lucy made a face. "Why were you looking for me? Do you need something?"
She laughed nervously. "Um, yeah. Jamie is asking momma and papa if he can marry me, and I'm sort of freaking out a bit. I would be rather upset if they froze him. And if I were in his place, I would be super scared. I mean, Papa is the winter spirit, and momma has this huge ice castle, and she set the entire kingdom into winter once. Yeah, I'm freaking out a lot. A whole lot, actually."
Lucy giggled. "My father told me that Auntie Elsa had practically pinned him against the wall with these really dangerous and sharp icicles, and she had threatened his life if he were ever to hurt my mother."
Her eyes widened in shock.
Just then, a rather confused looking young man approached them.
"Oh good lord, Jamie! You look like you've seen a ghost! What happened?" Carla asked, rushing over to him.
"Your parents were very… uhm, what's the word? I'm gonna go with protective. That's okay right? I mean, they're also scary and intimidating and wow, they talk like one person at times, and I totally respect them and I really don't want to know what a fate worse than eternal winter looks like and I think I need to sit down."
"I can't believe our little Carla is engaged!" Jack said, tugging on Elsa's hand gently, twirling her.
She laughed. "Yeah, it's pretty amazing, isn't it? You know, even Ryan has grown into such a handsome young man. He's taller than you now." Then she raised an eyebrow. "Jackson, are you trying to get me to dance?"
He smirked. "And if I am?"
She rolled her eyes. "Immature as ever, I see."
"Yeah, but you still love me." He said.
She mumbled something.
"Elsa, enough with the insults in different languages." Jack said, pouting. "Oh, please, just one dance?"
Elsa sighed. "Fine. How do you plan on dancing without music?"
"…"
"No."
"Pleaaase, I only ever heard the end of that song." He whined.
"Well…" She cleared her throat. "Will you shut up then?"
He nodded, and she sighed, exasperated. He pulled her close, on hand on her hip and the other laced though hers. She put her other hand on his shoulder.
"Ready?" She whispered, and he nodded.
"The snow glows white on the mountain tonight…" Her voice filled the ball room.
-10 years later-
58. 61.
Anna had lived till she was 58; Kristoff till he was 61. They had both passed away a week ago.
Elsa stood alone in front of the gravestones that were next to those of her parents.
She just stood there, staring at the rocks.
"Anna…" She whispered.
"I love you, my dear sister."
She had tried, really. She wanted to stay composed, for her family. But here, where she was alone, she finally broke down. She fell to her knees, screaming. She cried and shouted and sobbed, because her sister, her sister, was gone. The one who had always been there. Blinded by tears, she hammered on the stone with her fists, until they were bruised and bloody. She sat down heavily, giving up. She curled into a ball, pulling her knees to her chest.
She didn't even know how much time had passed, but she could still feel the tears streaming down her face. Then she felt two strong arms wrap around her. She jumped, surprised.
"Hey." Jack whispered.
She turned and threw herself into his arms. "Oh, Jackson." She sobbed. "What am I going to do?"
He held her hands up carefully, examining them. He didn't pry, or ask any questions. Instead he held each hand separately, and kissed it gingerly. She cried all over again, lying in his arms. After a while, she fell asleep, exhaustion overwhelming her.
Jack gently pulled her up, and flew to their ice castle, where they chose to stay for a while.
-5 years later-
Elsa looked down at the little baby she was holding. It was her sixth grandchild, George. Carla and Jamie had four children, Clair(age 8), Cora(6), Philipp(3) and George( 5 months). Her son, Ryan had two kids with his lovely wife Rosalie. Their names were Sophie(4) and Alexander (2). Then there was Lucy, her niece. They spent a lot of time together, since her parents passing. She and Arthur had three children. Jason(9), Josie(7) and Jakob (4).
The castle was practically bursting with kids.
Time had passed so quickly, it seemed. She rocked George back and forth gently.
"Grandma?" She heard someone call. She smiled.
"Yes, Cora?" She whispered. She was six years old, and she looked just like her mother at that age.
Her eyes widened as she realized that her little brother was asleep. "What's the matter, sweetie?"
"Oh, I was just wondering when tooth is visiting again!" She said, excited.
Elsa laughed softly. "Well, you're going to have to ask grandpa for that. He's in the library with Sophie and Philipp." She said.
"Okay!" She said, running along the corridor.
It had taken her a while to get used to the title of grandma. She was 65, but still looked like she was 24. That had been a bit strange at first, but they quickly got used to it.
She noticed that her grandson was waking up. She started humming a song to calm him down. It was the song that Anna and she had sung together so many times, just for fun. 'For the first time in forever'. She smiled as George looked up at her with big eyes. She rubbed his tummy gently, and he giggled, making her laugh as well.
"Momma?" Ryan walked into the room. "Hey, how is my little nephew doing?" He picked him out of Elsa's arms, twirling him around. He set him down in his crib, and he almost instantly dozed off.
He pulled his mother into a hug. He sighed. The last time they had hugged properly was too long ago. He really missed this. Elsa smiled up at him. "Everything okay, snowflake?"
"Yeah, just need a break from everything." And that pretty much summed it up.
"Your Father and I can always help if your duties as king are too stressful, you know that." Elsa said.
He pulled away, grinning. "Yeah, thanks. That would be really nice, actually."
She smiled. "That's what parents are for, aren't they?"
…
They had seen so many of their family come and go, they had helped their children and then grandchildren rule.
They had seen their own children leave this world.
After many years, they decided to move to their ice castle permanently.
But, they always had a family to come back too.
For their family in Arendelle always knew that the winter spirit and snow queen were real.
