It's short, but purposely so. Please enjoy. I know I've disappeared but grad school... I finished 2 years worth of work in 1. But I've been writing a lot more lately.
Thank you to my loyal readers who have been concerned about my absence. All of you fanfiction supporters, readers, authors, etc. are just plain awesome. Thank you.
"Hey. Snow. Come on. Wake up." Slowly, the older brunette began to stir. As she opened her eyes, she noticed quite a few faces peering down at her.
"What happened? And why am I on the floor?" Snow deadpanned.
"Well, you and your daughter actually have a lot in common. Emma fainted when she found out too." Regina explained.
"Found out what?" Snow just looked to Regina. Then to Charming. And finally, to Emma.
"Mom, Regina's pregnant."
"Really? That's great news. I'm going to be a grandma again!" Snow said excitedly as Charming helped her back into her seat. "Wait. What about….?"
"Mom, I think it's best not to bring up the past."
"Yes. I think you're right." Snow looked directly at Regina. "Regina, I'm so happy for you. I hope this will be such a great experience for you."
"Thank you, Snow. I… You don't know how much that means to me." The older brunette choked out. These pregnancy hormones were definitely getting to her.
"Mom, are you sure you're okay? Do we need to take you to the hospital?"
"No, no. Don't be silly. I'm fine. I think maybe we should just head home." Snow replied looking at Charming.
"Uhh… yes. I think that is a great idea. We've gotta get you ready for your big mother-daughter shopping trip tomorrow morning." Charming obediently said.
"Okay, well, honey, thanks for dinner. We'll have to do it again soon without so many surprises involved. I'm going to have a heart attack one of these days."
"We're the same age, Mom!"
"Yet, I've still lived much longer than you." Snow chirped back. Back turned to the Swan-Mills family, headed for the front door.
"Now you're just being tiresome." Emma spoke under her breath. Only Regina could hear it. The blonde learned long ago that it's best to just let her mother have the last word.
"Alright, lovelies, I'll see you tomorrow." And with that, Snow walked out the front door and down the brick path to their vehicle with Charming closely behind. Kyra followed to shut the door after them and came back to the dining room.
"Ma, I think we're gonna go hang out in the living room for a while. Come on Gwen. Let's go pick out a cartoon movie to watch. Thanks for dinner, Moms. It was really good." Henry turned and started to wheel himself toward the living room when he paused. "Also, Ma. I think maybe you should talk to Gramma tomorrow. She really is being quite kooky lately."
"I won't lie, Emma. Your mother is very weird." Regina said when the kids were out of earshot. They were both still standing in the same place from watching the in-laws walk down the path.
"Yes, dear. You should know. You raised her." Emma replied with a mischievous grin.
"Oh no. You can't blame that on me. I was a child just as much as she was back then."
"Okay. Sorry, babe. My bad." The blonde turned to her wife, placed her hands on her hips and pulled the brunette towards her.
"Yes, you are. Very bad." Regina leaned in to place a chaste kiss on Emma's lips.
"So, what are you going to do about it?" Emma challenged.
"I'm going to let you win the chore of doing the dishes."
"Aw, come on. You won't even help?"
"Okay, maybe for a little bit, but no water wars. Promise?"
"I promise." With that, Emma led Regina into the kitchen to clean up their evening's mess while the kids relaxed together in the living room watching Gwen's favorite movie, Wreck-It Ralph.
"Emma, I'm worried about your shopping trip tomorrow." The brunette quickly blurted out as she leaned against the counter. The blonde stopped what she was doing momentarily, put down the soaking dishes and turned to her wife.
"This has been bothering you since we talked about it at dinner, hasn't it?"
"Yes, it has, Emma. With good reason though."
"Babe, you can't be worried about me all of time." Emma said while picking up a hand towel.
"It's not just that. It's my nightmares. They've all come true. We haven't been able to prevent any of them. The only one that hasn't happened is the one with you and your mother. Who knows though, it's been a while since that nightmare, it could've changed by now."
"You don't think that it would change though, do you? I mean, now that we know about it, we could potentially prevent it, right?" Tensions were starting to get very high.
"I don't know Emma. I'm not familiar with the magic involved with dreams and nightmares. Especially involving the future. There is only one person that I know…" Regina stopped suddenly, realizing that all of this truly was connected to her past.
"You don't really think she is doing…"
"No, Emma. I don't think, I know she's completely involved in this. She started working on this much sooner than when we think. It takes a lot of time to plan these. How and when did she get to me?"
"Could she have gotten to the baby? We only just found out."
"She couldn't have known. Emma, we need to stop her. She could hurt both of us; me and the baby. Whatever she could be messing with could create a completely different effect." The brunette said while carefully placing her hands on her abdomen. Her blonde wife quickly moved to wrap her arms around the brunette to comfort her.
"We're gonna be okay. I'm going to make sure that everything is going to be okay. Nothing is going to happen to you or the baby." The blonde used the back of her hand to wipe away the stray tears from her wife's eyes and just pulled her close to her. "Let's get Gwen to bed and then we'll head to bed too. I think you're a little exhausted."
"Okay. I just really want to be close to you right now. Emma?" Regina said looking up into the blonde's eyes.
"Yes, baby?"
"I love you."
"I love you too. So much. And our new little bean." Emma moved her palm to be over Regina's abdomen.
"Our little bean? You never cease to amaze me with cutesy names."
"We've got to have our fun somehow." Emma winked at the brunette.
"I'm sure I could show you some real fun if you were truly interested." Regina pulls herself from Emma's arms and saunters out of the kitchen. After a brief moment of disbelief, Emma was closely following her.

The next morning had come way too soon for Regina's liking. She was nervous about sending her wife into what could very well be a trap that was created for her mother-in-law. Granted, everything that the brunette had dreamt about has become real whether she liked it or not. So far, nobody has died but she didn't want to find out how bad things could really get.
Thinking about their current situation was pretty stressful for Regina and for the baby. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was definitely going to happen today. However, all that managed to do was refuse to let the blonde out of her site. Leaning up against the doorway of their bedroom, the brunette watched Emma get ready for the day.
"Emma, how about I go with you today?" Regina asked, walking towards the blonde. She noticed that her wife was not in the mood for any games. "We could get Kyra to watch Gwen for us and I could go with you and your mom shopping and make sure that nothing happens."
The blonde just stared back at her wife. "Baby, I think what you need the most right now is to relax. Nothing is going to happen today. If it does, then I'll take care of it. I don't need you to get hurt too."
"But I won't, Emma. That wasn't how the dream went. I wasn't even there." Emma abruptly turned around, taking a hold of her wife's hips.
"Exactly. You weren't there. Just calm down. Have a mommy-daughter day with Gwen. I'm sure she would love to spend time with you." The brunette looked deep into the blonde's eyes. She was always very capable of reading Emma.
"Fine. But the first sign of trouble and you call me. Got it?"
"Yes, ma'am!" Emma replied. She pulled the brunette's hips closer while putting one hand on the brunette's face, bringing her closer. The blonde pulled her down further and kissed her lips sweetly. "I promise, I will let you how things are going. Okay?" Regina nodded her understanding. "I love you."

Emma and Snow had finally made it out shopping for new clothes and shoes shortly after they had convinced their significant others that everything was going to be fine. The blonde had left her 'mini-me' with the brunette but not without some crying from the four year old. Regina told Emma that it was a sign that she shouldn't go today, but Emma did not agree. Snow and her daughter were finally getting their own mother-daughter bonding that they haven't had in quite some time. Luckily, the two of them had found some really good deals on jeans and Emma was just dying for a new pair of boots that were just calling her name.
After what seemed like trying on every boot that they had in the store, Emma finally found a pair that she could live with. It emphasized her calf muscles even better than the last pair. Snow couldn't understand what was so different about them compared to the she already has, but she wasn't going to argue. A day with her daughter was already more than she could ask for. And because it was just the two of them out and about, they had to spoil their loved ones back at home too. Everyone got something new to add to their wardrobe.
"So, Mom, what do ya say we call it a day?" Emma said after several hours of shopping.
"Yeah, I think I should get home to start cooking some dinner."
"Why don't we go back to my house? I'll call Regina when we get to the car and have her order pizza. You should call dad too. Tell him to come over and bring popcorn. We'll have a movie night with the kids."
"That sounds wonderful, Emma. Let's do that. Your dad will be so excited to spend some time with you too." They proceeded to the front of the shopping center with all of their 'prizes' to head to the car.
On the way out to the car, Emma sensed something very different, very awkward in the air. Her senses started going into overdrive but she was having a hard time placing exactly what was wrong. There was a type of magic. Something that she wasn't quite familiar with, but maybe something she has felt before.
Suddenly, at least a dozen black crows came flying out of the sky towards Snow. The pixie-haired brunette joined the blonde in running for the car. When both women were coming into contact with the door handle, there was a small yellow-ish spark produced. With her hand completely wrapped around the door handle, Snow felt a surge of power run through her body. Her whole being began to shake with the unknown yellow magic enveloping her. Emma noticed this from the opposite side of the car and did not hesitate to rush to her mother's side; the sparking magic not bothering her in the slightest. The blonde tried to grab the brunette's wrists but was shocked away by the same yellow power that was currently torturing her mother. Emma tried to use her own magic against the other, but nothing she tried was working. Instead, forced to just watch what was potentially killing her mother, Emma kneeled on the ground near the brunette in hopes that she will fall from her position and be released by the magical power. And so, she was, not five seconds after the blonde was on her knees, she was able to catch her mother's limp body in her arms.
"Mom, look at me. Come on, you can do this. You're strong. Mom, MOM! Come on!" Emma pleaded with her mother, looking into the unresponsive eyes. The blonde started slapping Snow's face just enough to pull her from sleep, but there was still no response. "Okay, Mom, I'm taking you to Regina. She'll know what to do, okay? Hang in there, Mom. I just got you, I don't want to lose you after all we've been through. Regina was right. She is always right. I'm so sorry, Mom. Don't leave me."
Emma pulled her mother up into her arms and proceeded with caution to touch the car, but once the initial contact was over, she realized that there would be no more harm coming from the car. She opened the door, set her mother in the passenger's seat, buckled her in, and then ran around to the other side of the car and got into the driver's seat. She was off and headed towards home before anyone could even get close to them.
In her concern for her mother, the blonde had neglected to pay attention to the crows flying around them. Once the magic had faded away, the taunting black crows flew to the nearest tree and created a pattern in the branches. A pattern that was very similar to a dark pair of eyes.
Please review. They help the juices flow. Love you all. Mwah.
