A/N : Finale.

Yue was lying down on her bed, looking at the ceiling with her phone in her hand. For the umpteenth time, she had been flipping it open and shut numerous times.

If the phone could yell, it would have done that already by now.

Mayuzumi Chihiro.

That was the name of a boy who had been with her since kindergarten years. The one who was there when her parents were busy working outside. The one who supported her with every decisions she made. The one who went through thick and thin with her. The same who never got tired of her cliché antics over and over again.

The very one Mayuzumi Chihiro who she could count on. No matter what.

Pipipipipi!

Yue flipped open her cellphone at the sound of incoming text message. Her heart slightly sank when it was only the message from her telco company promoting about their latest feature.

She grabbed her bolster and hugged it tightly. Her mind wandered once again. She had been trying to contact Mayuzumi by any means that she could think of – emails, texts and calls – but Mayuzumi returned none.

She even thought about using smoke signal to reach him.

Just since when did the distance between them growing apart?

To call or not to call?

Mayuzumi had been asking himself the same question since three hours ago. The question popped itself into his head when he had received the letter of acceptance from the university he applied months ago.

The same university that Yue suggested. And the same university he's leaving for tomorrow.

He glanced at the corner of his room. Half of his things were packed. All that's left was personal belongings.

And her.

Mayuzumi let out one final sigh before sitting at his desk. He pulled out a testpad and pen and began writing.

To Yue...

She started her day like the usual – woke up, brushed her teeth, took a shower, changed into a nice pair of casual clothes and went outside to get her mails while eating breakfast – toasted bread and mocha.

What went unusual was the letter with a handwriting that she recognized very well.

To Yue...

I'm sorry. I wish you the best of happiness with Akashi.

Signed : Chi

Her heartbeat almost stopped, but her shaking fingers automatically dialled a number. "Mibuchi-senpai?"

"Yue-chan~ What brings you-"

"Which university did Mayuzumi-senpai go to?" Yue already ran upstairs to get her purse.

"Hah?"

"Which university did Mayuzumi-senpai go to?!" This time her voice was louder that it gave Mibuchi the shock.

Mibuchi frantically searching for the third-years' files. He found it, and skimmed through it. "He went to University S in Tokyo. Did some- Hello? Yue-chan?"

By then, Yue already hung up on Mibuchi and rushed outside. She put on her shoes and ran as fast as she could. Her destination was one and only one : the train station.

Lonely.

That's the one word he would use to describe himself. It's pathetic, now that he thought of it. The aloof Rakuzan phantom, who loved solitary and time to himself was feeling lonely.

Such irony.

Around him were students with their families, students with their friends and students with their loved ones.

And him?

Nobody.

Or maybe not...

In front of him, Yue was panting like crazy with her both of her hands on her knees. She was out of breath.

"Yue?" Yue looked up. Mayuzumi was standing 100 meters from her position. "What are you doing here?"

Yue didn't reply. Her breathing had become better. She walked at slow pace to where Mayuzumi was. A minute later, she was standing in front of him.

"Are you-" Mayuzumi felt a sting of pain on his left cheek. "What are-"

He was shocked when he saw the tears in her eyes. The only time when Yue had ever cried in front of him was after she broke up with Akashi.

Wait.

"Did Akashi hurt you again?" Though it still made no sense why Yue slapped him. Was it to vent frustration? Sounded logic.

Yue closed their distance by resting her head on his chest, making the teen male stiff. "Letter is a lame way to part ways."

"..."

"Why did you leave without saying goodbye?"

"It was for the best."

"For who?"

Mayuzumi couldn't answer the question. He knew he lied. It was not because it's the best. It was because of his own selfish whim.

"What about Akashi?"

"..I'll call him later and I'll explain it properly. I'll apologize if needed."

Mayuzumi wasted no time. He wrapped his arms around Yue's small frame. "I love you."

Yue smiled and tighten her arms around Mayuzumi. "Took you long enough."

Extended ending :

"I guess maybe it's going to rain snow."

Akashi stopped playing his violin. "What are you doing here, Mika?"

Mika sat on the couch in the living room. "Just come to visit my cousin." Mika was Akashi's cousing from his mother's side. "Didn't expect Yue would dump you."

It didn't surprise Mika one bit that Akashi pointed the tip of the bow at her neck. "Shut up."

"What did she say?"

Akashi withdrew the bow and continued playing. Schubert's Serenade echoed through the house.

Flashback

"Akashi?"

Akashi raised his eyebrows when he received Yue's call. Her tone was...flat.

"What happened?"

"About your proposal..."

End flashback

"You pressed the 'end call'?" Once again, Akashi stopped playing. He placed the violin and the bow inside the case. "Can't stand your ego being hurt?"

"I'm just going to say this once." Akashi ignored Mika's sarcastic comment. "You were right."

"About?"

"What you said to me about not declaring me and Yue's relationship." Girls needed support. And in Yue's case, Mayuzumi had been doing that non-stop.

Mika nodded. "Too late to realize it."

"And Yue was right too." Mika did not get it. "I lost, despite I won."

Mika looked at her cousin. "Is this the part where I comfort you?" Mika immediately regretted it when she saw a dangerous glint of shiny object in Akashi's hand.

"Die."

A/N : And...that was it.

Honestly, this is so much fun writing this fic. And I would never could have done it without your supports and reviews are such a good way to show it.

CAlexandrina That was a good song you recommended. And yes, I could relate to Mayuzumi when I listened to it.

Again, thank you so much for sticking through this fic until the end. *bowed
