So this is the day after date night (chapter 8) It jumps right into the next day, so feel free to reread that chapter to place things in chronological order.

Also, I've made some changes to previous chapters worth mentioning, in order to fit my evolving writing style, so check out previous chapters as well.

Chapter 11: Wallet

The next morning, Kagome woke up to find her sheets in disarray. She was the only person in bed, but she could not recall a time when the man had left. The young woman glanced at her roommate and best friend. She had her back turned to her and was still asleep. Kagome's face reddened at the memory of last night.

She slept with Inuyasha.

The blunt jack ass who asked her for sex.

The blunt jackass who worked magic with his lips.

The blunt jackass with the body of a god.

What in the actual fuck, Kagome?! She thought to herself. How could I sleep with someone on the first date? How could I sleep with someone I don't even like? All sense and reason had left her the moment the man began to work his lips on hers. Kagome began to gather her things for a shower. I CANNOT let that happen again. Stay away from that man. She mentally scolded as she closed the bathroom door.

Twenty minutes later, a freshly showered Kagome stepped out of the bathroom, wearing her favorite college t-shirt, complete with navy blue shorts. As soon as she opened the bathroom door, Sango was up and dressed, using the full-length mirror on the back of the front door.

"Hey, how was the date?" She asked as she expertly applied blush to her cheeks.

"It was okay." She answered not wanting to go into detail. In truth, it was better than okay. After they finished eating, they laughed, talked, and joked around so easily. Everything was going great until he'd bluntly asked what he asked. She thought it was best to keep the rest of her date night to herself.

"That's good. What's the chance for a second date?" She asked as she grabbed a band from her nightstand to tie her hair in a ponytail.

"Can't promise you that." Kagome responded with a slight laugh. She took one look Sango and knew where she was going. Her brilliant friend had been accepted into the internship at the hospital near campus, and routinely left every morning on the weekends for on the job training. The brown-haired woman opened her backpack to check the contents before heading out the door.

"See you later!"

"See ya!" Kagome replied as the door closed. She glanced at the book on the floor; a reminder of what she should have been doing last night on the side of her bed. It was the last quarter before she made her way to being a third year and she had fully intended on staying in and studying for finals last night. Picking up the book and grabbing her computer from the shelf next to her, she began to diligently review and study notes. That only lasted about a half hour, though, because of the knocks she heard on her door. Kagome sighed at her studying being interrupted, but made her way to the door. Her eyes widened at the person in front of her.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, grabbing his wrist and pulling him in the room as quickly as possible. She didn't want wandering eyes to see the silver haired man at her door. The man wore a dark blue muscle tee with a picture of an old movie on it, a pair of black joggers, and dark blue sneakers. Inuyasha had come back to see if his wallet was in the woman's room, but was not expecting to be yanked back in. He gave a smirk as she closed the door.

"I figured you enjoyed yourself last night, but I didn't think you'd be dragging me back in your room," He responded haughtily as she opened the door again to see if anyone was in the hall. She sighed in relief at the empty hallway. "Or should I say you enjoyed myself on you, in yo-"

"Look Taisho," She cut him off and closed the door. "Just let it go. Please? It was just a one-time thing, and I…" Kagome trailed off as she realized she'd been taking small steps towards him.

"You…?" He provoked while edging a bit closer to the woman.

"I don't think we should do that again." She weakly finished but did not sound the least bit convincing. She took another step closer, and could feel Inuyasha's breath on her neck as he inhaled her scent.

"I think," the hanyou began while lightly nipping at her neck. "We should try again just to be sure."

Kagome closed her eyes as the man began to trail soft kisses up her neck to her jaw, the last kiss landing on the side of her lips. She felt intoxicated by his scent, and their closeness was bringing back vivid memories of the previous night's rendezvous. She had no idea what effect this man had on her. Golden eyes met chocolate ones, and in that instant, Kagome began kissing the hanyou.

Seconds later, the two were on Kagome's bed, Inuyasha on top of her as he rushed to remove his shirt, as well as her top and bra. The garments met the floor and he began to lay kisses over her smooth, toned stomach, eventually making his way to her breasts. Kagome sharply inhaled at his actions as her hands trailed from his abs, to his bare chest. The two locked eyes, an unknown desire that they didn't quite understand forming in the pit of their stomachs.

"Inuyasha?" Kagome lightly spoke, almost at a whisper.

"Yes?" The man responded with an equal tone to her.

"Let's keep this between us."

The hanyou looked at her for a moment longer, trying to read anything he could from her eyes. That was to no avail, though, seeing as she wore the same look of desire he wore. He wasn't quite sure why she said this, but he was not going to do anything to betray her trust. It was never in his nature to do so.

"This is no one else's business." He promised as one of his hands began to undo the drawstring of her pants...

"Hey Kagome! Oh-" Sango stopped mid-way and slowly closed the door.

"Sorry," Kagome sheepishly apologized. "I just took a hot shower. I opened the window." She ended while glancing up from her laptop and notebook. Both things were true; after Inuyasha left, she'd taken a shower, which subsequently fogged up the small dorm room they shared. She was also hoping to get the smell of sex out of the room before her friend returned, so opening the window that was positioned between both of their beds was the best option.

"No worries. Oh, hey," Sango began as she started to take off her hospital attire that had little cars and dolls printed on them.

"I know you don't think much of Taisho, but there's gonna be a party at Kidai tonight if you want to go. Miroku invited us both." She ended while rummaging through the mess on her bed for a towel.

"You know, that sounds fun, but I have to study for finals." She replied, while reading a few lines on her computer and copying them to her notebook.

"Oh, c'mon you've been studying since I left!" Sango exclaimed as she made her way to their bathroom.

Yeah, I wish that were true. Kagome thought as she looked at her notebook. One of her legs dangled off the side of her bed, and it was only then that she realized that she hadn't picked up her clothes that Inuyasha practically threw on the floor. She collected the items and balled them up, throwing them in her teal laundry basket at the head of her bed. A dark brown wallet was thrown as well, and landed on her bed with some of the contents falling out.

"Besides, finals aren't until Friday and its Sunday," Her friend pointed out from the bathroom as she rummaged through the medicine cabinet.

Kagome's eyes widened at the item on her bed and quickly collected it. This must have been why the hanyou had stopped by earlier that morning.

"And I wasn't gonna tell you this, but your mom told me to drag you out from time to time because she doesn't want you in your room all day." Sango ended while making her way back to her cabinet to grab a new bottle of shampoo.

"Yeah okay." Kagome quickly responded. She was sitting cross legged on her bed. Sango raised an eyebrow at that but shrugged her shoulders a few seconds shortly after. "Alright, well rest up, because it starts at ten." She informed while making her way back to the bathroom and closing the door.

Kagome released a breath she didn't know she was holding as she lifted her pillow to reveal the hanyou's wallet. She agreed to go before she knew what she was saying, answering her friend in a slight panic after finding the wallet. She was going to have to go to now.

Only to give the wallet back, of course.

Hours later, Miroku knocked on the young woman's door, and the trio was on their way to the man's previous university. Both women were surprised at just how massive the campus was, and could only imagine how big the rooms were. They soon found out, as the three made their way through a series of hallways to the front door of an old high school friend of Miroku's. The rooms were the size of a small apartment, and seeing the amount of people that could fit into one bought on a surge of jealousy to the two Kawaguchi girls. That quickly faded, though, the loud music booming as they began to enjoy the party.

Almost an hour later, Kagome was still searching for the hanyou, in between her conversing with a few Kidai boys. After a while, she began to wonder if he was even showing up. She hadn't texted or called him, but assumed he would be here since Miroku had commented earlier that the hanyou would. She thought about sliding the wallet under his door, but didn't know what door that might be, and more importantly, if his roommate would be trustworthy to return it, assuming he had one.

Alternatively, the woman did not trust herself to be alone in a room with him. She wanted desperately to return the item in the public eye, but that would raise too many questions. As she was thinking about how to return the item to its rightful owner, the silver haired man walked through the front door. A few of the people greeted him, joked and smiled as he made his way around the room. His right ear tweaked and he looked in Kagome's direction.

Kagome bit her lip, walking between the loud and crowded room to the man, who wore a look she could not decipher. She grabbed the man's wrist, as she had done a few hours earlier, and led him into the nearest empty room; which, luckily for her, was not that far away.

A smirk began to form on the man's face as his eyes wondered over her figure. Kagome closed the door. The room she chose was not a room at all, instead a spacious walk in closet. Kagome reached in her jacket pocket, pulling out the wallet.

"How do you forget the same item twice?" She asked while handing the man his belonged item. Inuyasha gave her a once over before responding. "I was distracted." He answered as a devilishly handsome smirk made its way to his features. He took the wallet and pocketed it, not even bothering to check the belongings.

"You didn't go on a shopping spree with my cards beforehand, did you?" He asked playfully.

Kagome rolled her eyes at that. "Never again. Agreed?" She demanded, not needing to go into detail about just what.

"You tell me." He challenged while folding his arms over his chest.

"I don't like you." She proclaimed as his smirk began to turn into a smile.

"I beg to differ."

"Look. I don't know you, and you don't know me. So let's just make our way back to the party, and let it go."

Inuyasha shrugged his shoulders. "I'd say that I know you pretty intimately." He commented as she rolled her eyes a second time. "I don't see what's wrong with what happened. We are both single people, free to do what we want. You can say you don't like me, Kagome, but that doesn't mean you don't want me." He explained as if he'd just solved a great mystery.

The young woman looked at the closet door, the music muffled from behind the cherry oak exit. As much as she didn't want to admit, he was right. She didn't quite understand the need she had for this man, but she didn't think it was going to go away overnight.

"Fine."

"Fine what?"

"This," She motioned between them.

"Yes, I know, it stays between us. I get it." Inuyasha dully finished.

Kagome looked into the man's golden eyes for a few seconds, then opened the door, inviting the noise from the party back in. The two inconspicuously separated, Kagome heading back to Sango and Miroku while Inuyasha drifted into the sea of people, the deal officially sealed.

The next morning, the sun beamed in the young woman's face as she picked up her cell phone to read the time.

"Oh shit!" She cursed under her breath as she hopped out of bed and began rummaging to find something to put on. Class had started a half hour ago, and she had slept through her alarm and back up alarm. Kagome moved around the room as quickly and quietly as she could. She chanced a look over to her roommate, who was blissfully asleep. Luckily for Sango, her classes didn't start until noon. Knowing there was no way for her to stop by the school's cafeteria, she grabbed an apple from the shared mini fridge, stuffed a few items in her backpack, and headed out the door.

She quickly made it to the first floor and jogged down the stairs, fully intending on keeping the pace up, until she heard a familiar voice.

"You know, it took me a second because I was kinda drunk last night, but I'm totally better now."

Kagome looked around her, having stopped at the end of the stairs. She then placed it to her friend Ayame, who had been sitting on the stone sign with the name of their dormitory on it. She gracefully jumped down in front of Kagome, who had paused, a questioning look on her face.

"So, you and Taisho, huh?" She asked while wiggling her eyebrows. Kagome remained frozen in her spot, trying to figure out how she knew. Ayame saw the look her friend was wearing and finally answered.

"I can smell him. Ugh, and he smells just like a dog," The young woman commented while wrinkling her nose. "If you could smell as well as a wolf demon, you'd keep your distance I bet." Ayame giggled. Kagome stared at her friend for a few seconds.

Of course she could smell the hanyou on her. She was a freakin wolf demoness!

"But I showered…" She responded under her breath.

"Yeah, I can tell, but his scent is all around you," She explained in a matter of fact tone.

"So what your saying is, every demon and half demon on this campus can smell him on me no matter if I showered?" she asked in disbelief.

"Mm. Pretty much. But you're assuming that every demon and half demon knows him. And they probably don't since he doesn't even go to this school. If I hadn't met Taisho at the party, it would've been just some random scent on you." The woman answered truthfully.

"Ayame, please don't tell anyone about this."

"That's not my business to tell," She responded. "Besides, you're a single woman in college, whose slept with one of the hottest men on this planet. That's nothing to be ashamed of. I mean, unless he's in a relationship..." She thought out loud.

"He's not." She responded. "Wait, so does that mean that someone at the party could smell him on me or vice versa?"

"Probably, but let's be honest. Its college. It's not uncommon in this environment to smell different scents on different people. After a while, you just ignore it. Its normal. Besides, there were multiple scents in that room, they probably didn't even notice." She truthfully answered, putting her friend at ease.

"Thank you, Ayame."

"Don't sweat it. See you later, Higurashi!" Ayame winked at her as she headed the opposite way of her.

Kagome sighed and began her walk to class.

Well so much for keeping things under wraps.
