Team Bonding

A/N: Thanks for the reviews I'm going to begin getting into the longer chapters now, so please bear with me! If there's any specific pairings that you like more than others/ones that aren't listed, please comment so I can include them too! Also, sorry this chapter took so long. My computer broke down and all of my documents were wiped :( If the ending feels rushed, this is why. I wanted to crank this out as quickly as possible!

Summary: Serin and the other teams are forced into a mandatory "School Bonding" in a private hotel in the mountains. Similar to a training camp, it's one week long and only a select few are chosen to participate. So that schools are able to continue being strong by learning from each other, they can keep their healthy competition while being able to stop one school from completely dominating all the others. It's one week long—one day of traveling to the natural hot springs nearby, and six days of games with one to two games a day. Those include Night Tag, Capture the Flag, Mercy tournament, Freeze Tag, Trial of Courage, Sharks and Minnows, Hiking Race, Elbow Tag, La Lou Garou, Water Balloon Toss, and Scavenger Hunt.

HOW TO PLAY: Unconventional Capture the Flag

A line divides a given area into two sections, one section for each team. Each section has the given team's flag hidden somewhere inside it, as well as a 'jail'. The goal is to get the opposite team's flag and escape back to your side without getting captured, which means the enemy grabs on to your wrist or hand. If you get captured you have to go to 'jail'. However if one of your teammates cuts the link between you and the enemy then you can both escape. Likewise, if you are in jail one of your uncaptured teammates can free you. You can only free one person from jail at a time. You can only get captured on enemy territory. While running back to your side with the flag, you can't pass it to other teammates. Also, neither team knows where their own flag is hidden.

You win either by capturing the other team's flag and getting it to your own side without being captured, or by capturing all of your enemies and getting them into the jail.

Chapter 4: Capture the Flag

"Good morning." Momoi, Masako, and Riko stood on a chalk line that seemed to run through the entire forest. The other players were gathered around the smirking ladies, rubbing their eyes and complaining about the early time.

"When did you even get here?" Aomine complained loudly, arm strung around Kise's neck. "I thought this was supposed to be players only!"

Momoi smacked him so hard he fell over. "We just got here this morning!" She snapped, wielding her clipboard like a weapon. "And you'd better listen up, because we're announcing teams!"

At this the others perked up.

"Don't get too excited." Riko said and put her hands on her hips. "While we're announcing them no one's allowed to move. This means that if you're on enemy territory you're up for grabs." Everyone looked around nervously.

"Team Blue!" Masako stated loudly and pointed to the left, "Will be this side. The following people are on the Blue Team: Ootsubo, Hyuuga, Aomine, Miyaji, Kasamatsu, Takao, Izuki, Kagami, Murasakibara, and Akashi."

Tensions rose as Akashi, Miyaji, and Sakurai realized they were on enemy territory. Especially when Midorima and Kise began to edge closer to their ex-captain, determined to take out the biggest threat as quickly as possible.

"Team Red!" Momoi began with a deep breath and pointed to the right, "Will be this side! The following people are on the Red Team: Kise, Midorima, Hayama, Kiyoshi, Sakurai, Himuro, Kuroko, Mitobe, Moriyama, Hanamiya, and Imayoshi!"

"Now on the count of three, begin!" Riko exclaimed. "Three…Two…One…GO!" She and the other girls ran out of the forest as the sparring began. Kise and Midorima chose either side of Akashi to corner him but Kasamatsu proved to be a valuable player when he made the snap decision to skirt over the line and pull the redhead to safety.

"Takao! Miyaji!" The captain exclaimed, "You're the fastest runners out of all of us! Go find their flag!"

"Roger that!" Takao saluted as Miyaji grabbed his wrist and dragged him away from the rest. They made to step over the line when a hand reached out and nearly pulled them over it. At the last second Miyaji managed to roughly tug his teammate free.

"God damn it, Midorima." He growled, lowering his stance. The Miracle did the same, edging closer to the other side.

"Don't get in my way, Miyaji-senpai." Midorima answered, eyes set on Takao. Said point guard thought quickly and decided that maybe this was for the best.

"Miyaji-senpai!" He said, running around his teammate and towards Midorima, tackling him, "Run!"

"Thanks," Miyaji nodded at the sacrifice and bolted over the line at top speed, his sneakers kicking up dirt behind him. In the background he heard Takao struggling while Midorima dragged him to jail. How am I supposed to find this stupid thing…? He wondered, looking around as he got deeper into the forest. Honestly, he didn't even know what the flags looked like. No matter what, red would stand out. It couldn't be too hard to find.

A shiver went down his spine and he turned to meet a pair of sparkling eyes and a devious grin.

"Mi~ya~ji~"

"Shit!" He exclaimed and narrowly managed to avoid getting slide tackled by Hayama.

"Aw, senpai, don't run away!" The demon player smirked with glinting eyes. When Miyaji tried to fake him out he didn't bother trying to follow, merely shooting forward quickly and grabbing the object of his desire. They tumbled to the ground. "Don't worry," He grunted, pinning the blond down, "I promise I'll be gentle~!"

"W-wait!" Miyaji gasped when Hayama bit down on the sensitive part of his neck.

Hayama scowled, his mood quickly darkening. "What?" He asked aggressively, eager to continue. Miyaji knew that the demon wouldn't really do anything unwarranted or unasked for—and even if he tried Miyaji could kick his ass into next week—but that didn't mean it was okay to do it in the forest. Also, he had a feeling that someone was lurking in the background, waiting for the right moment to…

"Not now." Miyaji ordered, taking control. He rolled them over and straddled his boyfriend. "Later. At night when everyone else is asleep. That's when we fuck."

"God, you're hot." Hayama whimpered as Miyaji slid his hand under his thigh.

"I'll be even hotter when you're at my mercy." The look on Hayama's face as he realized he was being played was absolutely priceless. "See you tonight, kohai." He smirked triumphantly as Izuki came out of nowhere, breaking Hayama's grip on Miyaji's wrist and effectively freeing him from capture. The pair ran off with Hayama right on their trail.

"Miyaji-san!" Izuki huffed as they sprinted away, "He's cornering us right where the jail is."

"Damn," Miyaji swore. "Okay, when we reach it, let's split. Do a complete 90 degree and run."

"Is it possible to do that fast without tripping?"

"Lean into the turn and at the last second twist your knee, not your ankle. Use your other foot to push off the ground." Came the breathless reply. The jail came into sight; Midorima was dragging a red-faced and disheveled Takao to it with a determined expression while Takao struggled and failed to break the grip tightened around his wrist. He turned when he saw the pair running forward but his eyes weren't looking at them.

Miyaji glanced over his shoulder to see what Midorima was looking at and bit his lip to keep from swearing. Hayama was mere feet away, sprinting after them with a demonic gleam in his eyes.

"Now!" The blond ordered, and at the last second he and Izuki both turned. Hayama used the lack of distance to reach out his hand and try to grab onto Miyaji when instead he fell face-first into the dirt. "What the—" Miyaji began, wondering who saved him, when he saw Takao stretching forward out of Midorima's grip to trip his chaser.

Deciding that he'd be better off with searching with someone who had a Hawk's eye, Miyaji changed directions with a twist of his knee and bolted forward. Instead of slowing down to sever the connection his kohai had with each other he sped up, running straight between their hand-to-wrist connection and throwing it apart. After all, Midorima was much more determined to keep Takao than Miyaji was and the only way to overpower him was with his speed.

"Run!" Miyaji yelled at the point guard, and Takao nodded before they both bolted off on opposite directions, Hayama and Midorima hot on their backs.

With Izuki…

Izuki ran for at least ten minutes before stopping and leaning against a tree trunk to catch his breath. This reminded him of training with Riko's dad in the mountains, and he smiled at the memory.

"Hey," Kiyoshi said, appearing from around the trunk. He smiled gently at his teammate and leaned next to him with a hand rubbing his knee. "How's it going?"

"Hayama's after Miyaji and Midorima's after Takao but other than that?" Izuki smiled in return. "Good. You?"

"Oh, you know, just looking around for the enemy." Kiyoshi kept smiling and edged closer to the point guard, who eyed him cautiously.

"Kiyoshi…?" He asked with a raised eyebrow when the brunette grabbed his hand and squeezed it with a happy smile.

"Caught you." He said, and Izuki twitched. Crap…I forgot he was on the other team! He sighed and rubbed the back of his head with his free hand.

"Fine," He shrugged, "Let's go to—Kiyoshi?" Kiyoshi turned from dragging Izuki away. "This isn't the direction the jail's in."

"No," Kiyoshi agreed. The smile didn't leave his face. "It's not."

"But—"

"KIYOSHI YOU TRAITORRRRR!" Hyuuga sprinted out of nowhere and grabbed Izuki's wrist, yanking him out of the brunette's grasp. They began to run away when Izuki glanced behind—Kiyoshi was catching up. Hyuuga began to pant, never being one for running, and he realized that they'd have to split up or sacrifice someone if either of them were to have a chance at escape.

"Hyuuga!" He said, getting the Captain's expression. They didn't have to speak, already having similar minds.

"Yeah." Hyuuga nodded. However, instead of going opposite directions Izuki turned left and bolted while Hyuuga got between him and Kiyoshi. The taller brunette couldn't stop himself in time and ended up tackling the other to the ground, and they groaned in a tangle pile of limbs while Izuki ran away. When Kiyoshi tried to get up and follow the eagle-eyed teen, Hyuuga growled and caught his hand. "No. You caught me. Now take me to jail."

"Ah…hai, hai." Kiyoshi smiled, though inside he was frustrated. Oh, well. I'll have them both later. With that, he began to drag his captain away.

"Oi," Hyuuga said with a pissed expression. "This isn't the way to the jail."

"No," Kiyoshi smiled deviously, "It's not."

With Himuro and Kuroko…

Kuroko tightened his grip around Himuro's hips and neck in his attempt not to fall off. He was being piggybacked around the Blue Team's side while they looked around for the flag, his energy being depleted from running from Hanamiya and Imayoshi. Now Kagami and Muraskibara were hunting down Himuro and him—though mostly Himuro, much to the shadow's annoyance. He appreciated that Kagami-kun and his 'brother' had a…close relationship, but there were times when they were a little too close for his liking. After all, Kagami was an innocent and surely wouldn't see anything wrong with sharing food or wiping off Himuro's face, or holding his hand and hugging him for extended periods of time. It was when he would kiss his brother on the forehead goodnight or practically cuddle with him when they sat next to each other that Kuroko found himself frustrated.

His arms tightened their grip around Himuro's neck as the other ran not on purpose, but as an instinctive reaction to his thoughts. Himuro slowed down automatically and let go of one of Kuroko's legs, using his now free hand to loosen the grip.

"My apologies, Kuroko-san, but I can't run properly if you hold on too tightly." He said, something hidden and mysterious in his voice. Kuroko had a feeling Himuro knew exactly what he was thinking about.

"Aah…yes…" He said quietly. "My bad." He sighed and glanced around, gazing at the scenery one last time before Himuro began running again.

"You know," Himuro startled him by speaking up, "I'm just as jealous of you as you seem to be of me."

"I don't mean to be rude," Kuroko counteracted blandly, "But that would be impossible." He could practically hear Himuro smile.

"However, I don't think it's in the same way." He said. Kuroko waited for him to elaborate until several minutes passed, and then he took it upon himself to ask.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not jealous of your relationship," Himuro confided, "I'm jealous of his dedication to you. Even if you're a little blind to it, he cares for us both very much. Of course, he loves me more—but that is simply because of our past together; after such a long time of being close with someone that is bound to happen. But the things he does for me that you're jealous of me for? He does them for you."

"For me…?" Kuroko wondered, raising an eyebrow. Of course Kagami-kun would find reason in something like that. He thought fondly, though he was more confused than heartwarmed.

"To put it bluntly, Kagami is…a prude." Himuro laughed a little. "He's as completely in love with you as it gets, but is a big-time virgin and doesn't really handle intimacy well." He paused to take in a few breaths, stopping for a minute or so before continuing his run. "So he asked me for help. We'd try being intimate—in a brotherly way, of course—so that he could handle it when you wanted to do things like hold hands in public. Now it's just something that we do; we don't particularly think about it when we do things like hold hands or quick kisses on the forehead, since we were already at that level of emotional bond; now it's just showing on the outside, too."

"And you're jealous?" Kuroko asked dryly. How could he be, when he got to be intimate with a cute and blushing Kagami-kun?!

"Well," Himuro paused again, "Not exactly. But the person I like doesn't really do things like that. Not a lot, at least, though he's very possessive."

"Ah." Kuroko realized, understanding now why he and Himuro had been at odds. "Have you told Murasakibara-kun how you feel?" He smiled a little when Himuro's muscles tensed up; it hadn't been hard to guess who the crush was on.

"…Yes. We've been dating for a few weeks now."

"I see…" Kuroko thought for a minute before tugging on Himuro's hair. "Let me down, please."

"Ah? Okay." He stopped running and let go of Kuroko's legs. The shadow closed his eyes and listened for any approaching enemies before gazing at Himuro.

"Please wait here. It won't be long." With that he ran off, leaving a bemused Himuro in his wake.

The beauty-eyed teen waited a few seconds before getting bored. He sighed and glanced around, curious as to where Kuroko had gone but unwilling to leave his designated post. Finally he heard a rustling and cracking of fallen branches and turned, ready to ask sternly what exactly he'd been waiting for.

He didn't get the chance. Before he could react Murasakibara shot forward and wrapped his arms around Himuro's shoulders, nuzzling his face against the teen's neck and holding on tightly.

"…Caught you." He mumbled slowly. Himuro smiled and closed his eyes, relishing in the skin-to-skin contact and pressing his cheek into Murasakibara's temple.

"Yeah, you did." He murmured. Kuroko's more mischievous than I thought. Instead of dwelling on it, he sank further into Murasakibara's arms and sighed happily.

With Akashi…

"Do you know where they are?" Kasamatsu asked as he and Akashi picked their way through the foliage up the mountain. They'd managed to secure their flag and decided to hide it by tying it to the top of a tree. That way it would be easy to watch from a distance, and if someone managed to get it it'd be easy to catch them. Now they were hunting down Moriyama and Mitobe, who snuck over the line during the chaos of the first few minutes.

"No." Akashi frowned. It was uncommon for him to say that word but it didn't bother him in the least. He would find them eventually; that was inevitable.

"Hmm…well, knowing Moriyama they're somewhere near the top. They have the entire side of the mountain to cover, after all, and he knows it's easier to run down the slope from the enemy than up it." Kasamatsu looked around carefully before resuming their brisk walk upward.

"They would think of that?" Akashi asked politely. "You must train them quite well."

Kasamatsu looked down at the redhead, who kept his gaze on the horizon. "You're…actually pretty nice, aren't you?" He stated calmly, thinking back to all of the things Kise said about him. The model made out his ex-coach to be a demon, but maybe Akashi was just strict because he cared.

"You assumed otherwise?" Akashi asked, turning his head slightly so he could catch Kasamatsu in the corner of his eye.

"Yeah," Kasamatsu admitted sheepishly. He was about to say something else when a twig snapped nearby, and both captains whipped around at light speed.

"Shit!" They heard Moriyama swear, followed by the padding of feet.

"They were following us," Akashi deducted with a small smile. "If they had not been caught, it would have been quite effective."

"You could just say that they're talented instead of wording around it." Kasamatsu replied. They watched Moriyama and Mitobe run down the slope at a breakneck speed. "Shouldn't we go after them?"

"No." Akashi's smile turned intimidating. "I had already seen this coming."

One minute, the escapees were running. The next, they were sprung up in a net trap, hanging from one of the trees in a tangle of limbs. Kasamatsu sweatdropped and gave the shorter captain a weary smile. When the hell did he get a trap set up?!

"Let's go back to the Red Territory." Akashi said, putting a gentle but firm hand on Kasamatsu's arm and guiding him in the opposite direction. "While Imayoshi captures Aomine."

"O-okay…" Maybe Kise was right…

With Kise…

"Woah!" Kise gasped as he barreled over a short ledge, tumbling over the five foot drop and landing gracefully before resuming his quick pace. Aomine and Sakurai (who was coerced into helping him despite the fact that they were on opposite teams) were hot on his back, quick enough that Kise didn't have any time to take a break. They were already deep in Red Team territory, and the model had no idea where the boundary line was. He was completely lost.

"Got you—" He heard Aomine exclaim victoriously, but right as the ace's fingers brushed Kise's shirt the blonde slipped on a patch of moss and slid underneath the hand, landing on his back while his chasers tried to slow down.

"No way, Aominecchi! I'm not losing this time!" Kise stood up shakily, ignoring his swelling ankle and running to his left. Snapping branches behind him told of the pair following him.

"Just let me catch you, damn it!" Aomine growled, sounding too close for comfort.

"I'm sorry!" Sakurai burst out.

"Give up alrea—" Kise slipped again, this time not lucky enough to miss the hand reaching out for him. Both he and Aomine fell to the ground, the bluenette crushing the model underneath his weight and pressing him into the dirt. "D-damn it!" He tried to squirm out from underneath the other while Aomine got his bearings when the bluenette pinned his wrists to the ground.

"And you were so close." He whispered huskily in Kise's ear. Kise looked over his shoulder and hissed with dissatisfaction—the boundary line was mere feet away, as if mocking him.

"Damn it, Aominecchi!" Kise let his eyes well up with tears, but the bluenette didn't buy it. He tugged them both to their feet with his hand clamped firmly around Kise's wrist, ruining any chances the model had at getting away.

"Ha! As if you could win against me!" Aomine laughed loudly. He continued to laugh until a new figure appeared, so fast and shadowed that they appeared to have come out of nowhere. Two pale, long arms reached out and wrapped around Kise's middle, pulling harshly until both the model and ace were pulled right over the line. This time it was Kise's turn to gloat as he grabbed onto the bluenette's shoulders happily.

"You were saying?" He asked pridefully, turning to thank whoever had helped him. Imayoshi smiled over at them, brushing a bit of dirt off his shoulder.

"Sakurai." The captain turned to the only remaining blue member. "Take Aomine to the jail."

"Y-yessir! I'm sorry!" Sakurai, ignoring the fact that he wasn't even on Imayoshi's team, scurried over to Aomine and Kise and began to accompany them to jail. It was a short trek, and when they got there an angry Hyuuga was sitting in it, scowling. A bright red hicky was visible from just above his collar.

"Hey." He greeted Aomine with an unsurprised expression. "Thought they'd get you next, I just didn't think it'd be so quick."

"Eh?" Aomine squinted at him stubbornly. "You making fun of me, four-eyes?"

"Respect your senpai." Hyuuga warned darkly. Aomine rolled his eyes and sat next to the captain in the cell. Sakurai sat behind both of them, worming into the corner of the jail.

"Stay h—" Kise began to order, when a movement caught his eye. He barely managed to snag hold of a royal blue hoodie before Kasamatsu succeded in freeing Aomine. "Captain! I was looking for you everywhere when Aominecchi found me!"

"Oi!" Kasamatsu struggled when Kise wrapped his arms around the other, snuggling them closer together than comfortable. "Let go!"

"But senpai!" Kise frowned and began crying crocodile tears. Kasamatsu kicked him in the head and fumed as he walked into the jail, sitting next to Hyuuga by the end. Kise sat in front of the jail cross-legged, waiting to see if anyone else would come and make sure the prisoners didn't escape. "This is so boring." He said after a while.

"No shit." Aomine muttered. Kise rolled his eyes.

"Do you think anyone else's been captured?" The blond asked.

"Maybe." Kasamatsu answered. "Maybe everyone else got captured and they're trying to find you right now."

"Oh." Kise didn't seem too happy about that. "No, I bet Hayama-san's got Miyaji-senpai by now."

As if on cue, an angry cursing filled the air. Miyaji was hauled over Hayama's shoulder, wrists tied together by a thin rope behind his back, struggling violently and swearing loudly. From behind the line, Kise could barely make out Ootsubo being held back by a wildly grinning Takao.

"LET ME DOWN, BASTARD! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!" Miyaji's foot lashed out, narrowly missing Hayama's groin. Kise and those in the jail paled and winced in fear, shifting uncomfortably at the thought of if Miyaji had hit his mark.

"Why is he so angry?" Kise asked, watching as Hayama dropped Miyaji into the jail with a happy expression.

"Oh, we just took a little detour~" The demon player grinned.

"Detour my ass! You nearly fucking devoured me!" Miyaji snarled, turning his neck to face the other and giving everyone else a view of his shoulders and collarbone. They were covered in bruises and bite marks so dark they were nearly violet.

"Miyaji-senpai?!" Midorima rounded the corner, eyes wide as he looked over the marks. Miyaji whipped around ready to yell, but was surprised when the greenette headed to Hayama angrily. "What did you do, strangle him?!"

"Midorimacchi!" Kise pouted. "Those aren't strangle marks, those are—mmph!" Miyaji kicked Kise in the back and shook his head. Kise rolled his eyes but decided to cover for the other blond. "They're bug bites! See? Hyuuga-senpai has one too!"

All eyes turned to the megane, who sighed but revealed the hicky. Midorima seemed to accept this and nodded at Kise. "Help me get Takao."

"Eh? Who'll guard the jail?"

"We can." They turned. Imayoshi was dragging along Hanamiya by the elbow. The latter was scowling, glancing around as if worried about something.

"Oh." Kise said. "Okay!" He stood up and winked at his captain before following Midorima out of the clearing. They walked along the chalk border line signifying the division of sides, looking around carefully for any Red Players that could be hiding nearby.

"The coast is clear." Midorima stated.

They literally stepped inches over the line when Akashi appeared out of nowhere, dichromatic eyes flashing as he yanked them over and gripped each of their wrists tightly.

"Now!" He yelled. Takao sprinted out from behind a tree and headed towards the jail. Midorima swore and Kise tried to shout a warning but Akashi used his grip to pull them away, the force of it throwing their voices from their throats.

"Shit! We have to warn—"

"It's too late." Akashi said ominously, a victorious smirk on his face. "I've already won."

No POV…

It was over before it even began. Himuro, Murasakibara, Kagami, and Kuroko were disqualified when Riko found them outside of playing grounds. Takao managed to nab Midorima and free Hyuuga, who then captured Kiyoshi. Hayama had disappeared with Miyaji somewhere in the crossfire and they were both counted as MIA, and Sakurai easily went over when Akashi ordered him. Hanamiya and Imayoshi were the only ones left, at least they were when suddenly Izuki and Takao, double-teaming, grabbed each of them and pulled them over to the Blue Side.

Momoi, Masako, and Riko announced with a loudspeaker that the game was over, calling for Blue Team victory.

"As a reward for this game, the Red Team will make dinner and do the dishes tonight!" Momoi proclaimed cheerfully. Half the boys proceed to groan while the other half smirked victoriously.

"Get ready, Shin-chan~" Takao muttered in Midorima's ear. The greenette turned beet red and stuttered, "S-Shut up! Don't be indecent, Takao!" With that, everyone made their way back to the hotel.

Omake:

"Where's Bakagami?" Aomine wondered. The others had left long ago, and even if they couldn't play basketball he wanted some sort of competition. A race, maybe, back to the camp. He dragged a complaining Kise behind him while he searched.

"Aominecchi, let go! I'm tired!" Kise whined, tugging on his wrist. His legs wobbled when he moved, worn out after running away from his friend-with-benefits for nearly half the day.

"Eh? Fine. Just let me-" Aomine made to turn around and his foot slipped on a patch of wet grass. He fell onto Kise, who bumped his head hard against the ground and let out a shout of surprise. When he tried to get up his hands found Kise's, and he pinned the other down while pushing himself up. Kise's eyes watered as the pain from hitting his head reached it's peak.

"O-Ow…" Kise whined again, a few tears leaking out. Aomine was about to reply when Kagami, piggybacking a sleeping Kuroko, appeared from out of the bushes. His red eyes widened and an angry blush spread over his cheeks.

"B-Baka! What do you think you're doing to K-K-Kise?!" He stuttered furiously.

"It's not like he doesn't like it." Aomine replied blandly, rolling his eyes. He realised how compromising they looked, and decided that he'd play along with it. So, much to Kise's confusion, he leaned down and licked the tears off of the model's flushed cheeks. "See? Now leave, Bakagami."

"Jerk Ahomine!" Kagami shot back, jogging away with a face as red as his hair. Aomine rolled his eyes again.

"But I thought you wanted to race him…?" Kise asked. Aomine smirked and leaned back down to press a kiss to his lips.

"I found something much better to do." He muttered.

Oh, well. Kise thought with a grin. Works for me.
