Zoro slows down his approach as he gets a meter near Sanji. Damn, even with the stench of alcohol and the different scents of people, he can still smell that ripe aroma coming off that blonde. He can almost taste it, touch it, even grasp it, so unlike the ones in his dreams.
"So," Zoro starts, his voice louder as he thankfully sits on an empty seat near Sanji, gesturing the bartender for a drink.
Sanji sips from his own drink and flashes a look at Zoro, "Just so you know, I came here to enjoy myself, hope you don't ruin it." He says leaning just so Zoro can hear him.
Zoro scoffs at that, this guy is still cocky and annoying, "Please, you enjoy yourself whenever I'm near." Zoro smirks.
"I swear," Sanji then gags playfully to Zoro, "the things that come out of your mouth is just plain shameless."
Zoro laughs at that. His order arrives and he took a shot, "My mouth haven't even started being shameless." He laughs again when we sees Sanji lightly choke on his drink. Zoro watches as Sanji wipes his mouth clean, Zoro's brown eyes faintly sees the swipe of tongue against already wet lips.
"Should have known you're the type to have bad pick up lines." Sanji mocks him and laughs lightly. "So did you?" Sanji asks, Zoro almost not hearing the questions.
Did he pick up somebody? Oh god, oh how much he did want. Zoro wanted to relieve himself so many times with other people's heat. Their heat would be so different from the one he craved, he'd be forcing himself, imagining a blonde he knows not there. It was again so, so easy to do, but here he is, dry from other's touch with wet fantasies and dreams that kept him closer to sanity. "You said no other partners". Zoro simply says and waved his head as a no.
He sees Sanji taken aback by his honest answer and the blonde gulps a drink before he responds, "So I did."
And then it's back again, the familiar electric charge that always seems to brew between them. It's awkward and welcomed, and Zoro wants to change it to shockwaves of pleasure the two of them can create.
"What about you?" Zoro asks.
"And me what?"
"You frequent this place, found someone interesting?" Zoro bites a snarls that almost comes out. Just a stray thought of the cook being with somebody irks him off.
Sanji thinks before answering, "A lot actually. People here are nice, talked with a few."
"Just talked huh," Zoro considers the answer, "bedded someone?" It was an inquiry to calm his own thoughts.
Blue eyes widen at the blatant question, "Do I have to?" Sanji flusteredly reacts.
"Certainly not." Zoro mutters and immediately Sanji furrows his eyebrows in question. "Heard you made a name for yourself here." Zoro continues, "like an untouchable princess of some sort."
"You know you piss me off without even trying, you green-haired weirdo." Sanji grits, "I want to kick you really."
"Well, I'm not lying about it." Zoro then looks at the way the blonde is dressed. Blue shirt that hugs a lanky figure and pants that fit snugly on his legs. The look is normal but with the added sleek belt and a few bracelets, it's completely Sanji. Attractive, yes. But he's still a curly brow. Zoro inwardly laughs.
"And you?" Zoro almost doesn't catch Sanji's question, "What have you been doing this past few weeks?"
Oh, how Zoro wants to answer that truthfully. Let's see, he agonizingly waited for a message from Sanji, which he didn't receive. Waited for his phone to ring with an unknown number, and hoped for any conversation starter from this blonde. Zoro actually thought they went off on good terms last time they met, well, good enough terms. Anyway what else? Oh yeah, he was on the verge of insanity. All because he can't forget the smell and taste of Sanji - his surprisingly first obsession. A cruel obsession he doesn't even know how to get. And now that he thinks about it, he should be angry at this guy. The past weeks have been hell, to be honest. It's like he's been running in a desert not knowing where to go.
Undeniable anger is what he wants, to lash out and blame the cook. No, he should have cut him off from the start. Why did he wait anyway? Why did he even have to honor the no-other-partner deal they had? They aren't even dating based on what they talked about weeks ago. Just what the heck are they?
Wait, Zoro does know. He's going on a whim with this curly-brow because he wants him. He wants him in so many ways. Zoro is curious about how those potty mouth would shut up with his cock plugged into it. He's interested in how the blonde would lose himself when Zoro buries himself deep, touching Sanji's sweetest spot. Ah, fuck. Now everything is vivid. Zoro remembers how he touched Sanji. His gasps and pants coming out of those red slick lips. A snarl is about to escape Zoro when suddenly the lights turn off and excited howls and reactions are all he can hear from the different drunk party goers.
This one he remembers as well. Zoro met Sanji before in this bar in this circumstance. Even in the dark, Sanji's scent called out to him. Their scent, mixing together was heady and Zoro felt like he was programmed to get closer to the blonde.
But now, this is different. Zoro doesn't move. Sanji too, is seemingly stuck on his chair. They don't do anything while giggles and laughter mixed with short moans reach their ears as eager people take advantage of the darkness.
Zoro would have also participated in such events but he finds himself glued on his seat with no interest at all. At least, this gives him time to think more of what the hell does he want from Sanji. No, he already established he wants the blonde canine. But is that it? A full fuck with this cook and he'll be done and over? Does he just want to kill his curiosity? Is that all there really is? Zoro feels empty at the thoughts.
Though, can't Zoro get this excitement from others as well? From willing partners to be exact. He can, can't he? It's all the same right? It's just body heat. He can. He did it before, he can do it again. But now he can't. Why? What's different? Why can't he? What's with the cook's heat that seem to bind him?
Are body heats from others subpar?
Yes.
Is he willing to give up those countless bodies just to have Sanji?
Yes.
Does Sanji's warmth topple all of the heats he can take from people throwing themselves at him?
Yes!
Zoro's inner soul screams in answer. Yes!
A realization, yes.
Zoro takes a deep breath and heaves heavily. The lights slowly flickering back to how it was.
Heart thumping loudly against his chest, Zoro swallows the lump forming on his throat with what's left on his glass.
Sanji eyes him, concern etched on his face, 'What happened to you?"
Zoro licks the faint traces of alcohol on his lips, "Nothing." He simply says, catching the way Sanji followed the darting of his tongue.
Sanji stands up from his seat, looks at Zoro to sarcastically say, "This has been dreadful." His voice still laced playfulness, "I really must go home to get away from you." He adds as he takes out his card to pay for his own drink.
Zoro rolls his eyes in response, "Let me walk with you?"
Sanji does a do over on Zoro, "Are you sure you're the moss head from before?"
Zoro scoffs, "Of course, want me to remind you your good spots?"
This time Sanji laughs, "ah, a pervert with green hair. You're the marimo all right."
After settling their accounts, Sanji walks past Zoro, "As long as you don't get inside my house."
Zoro follows and teases, "Where's the fun in that?"
The sound of the buzzling street greet them outside. It's awkward at first. The way that there's no alcohol to disturb them and no music between them. Yet soon enough, they find a slow pace of walking and conversation starters.
For one, Zoro is glad to find out that the blonde lost his phone. So he wasn't actually ignoring him on purpose. A relief comes over Zoro at the thought. Zoro on the other hand, shares that he's a kendo player. By the looks of Sanji, he's seriously surprised at that. Sanji admits that it's cool of Zoro to know how to handle swords because he himself doesn't want to. He wants to take care of his hands as much as possible but he still wants to learn some sort of self-defense and that's why Sanji took some savate class. He says that he focused more on the kicking part of the lessons and then proceeded to learn some other martial arts. Zoro is genuinely amazed and even offers to spar with him.
"You're gonna fight me with a sword?" Sanji smiles at that.
"Don't be stupid," Zoro bites back in humor, "you'll get your ass kicked if I did that."
"I think I can still defeat you and your bamboo sticks."
"I'm not gonna fall for your taunt but I can probably beat you with some hand to hand sparring."
"Pssh, you can't. I know so."
"What? Not accepting? You scared little cook?"
Sanji perks up, "Of course not! When? Where? Tell me."
"I don't really know some place."
"Ah, wait!" Sanji exclaims.
"You know a place?"
"No, not that," Sanji start, "The sparring needs to be hold off."
"Why is that?" Zoro asks.
"I'm perfecting another recipe for Baratie."
"The bear's restaurant?"
Sanji nods. "Actually I recently finished a dish for Baratie." Zoro hears the change in Sanji's voice as he speaks.
Sanji talks like an excited child at the topic, proud and grinning. Sanji mentions about how hard it is to cook the meat correctly and how he had to find the correct portion of the seasonings and how he managed to do it. Zoro can't help but fall and listen to Sanji. He sees the blue eye sparkling and hands being animated as Sanji demonstrate how he does his thing. Truthfully, Zoro enjoyed every word of it.
"I can make it for you sometime." Sanji casually offers and Zoro is taken aback. "Or you can help me with taste testing."
"Sure, sometime." Zoro smiles, "Well, this is your place." Zoro adds.
"Oh, yeah." Zoro catches the - was that a sad - tone in Sanji.
Zoro watches Sanji fidget with his hands in his pocket before uncharacteristically saying in a hushed voice, "I know I said you're not gonna go inside but," Sanji inhales, "coffee to freshen up?"
A bare hint of tongue then skids along Sanji's lips, gliding to wet dry lips. Zoro catches the action and unknowingly follows it.
"Stop looking at me like that." Sanji breaks his short reverie and Zoro looks at him feigning innocence. "N-Nevermind," Sanji stutters a bit, "Were you even listening to me?"
"Of course. We were on the verge of sparring, but you got scared. So that's on hold." Zoro watches the irk forming in Sanji's face, "You owe me lunch or dinner. And now you want to make me coffee."
Sanji makes an annoyed face with a hint of glee, "That is so not how it went." Sanji bites his bottom lip, "So?" Sanji drags the word in question.
Isn't this an invitation? Zoro thinks.
But if he goes inside, he'll just go insane. Again. Zoro thinks, again.
Shaking his head, he answers, "I'm good."
Zoro catches the short, 'oh', that escapes from Sanji. And isn't that just adorable in Zoro's eyes. How Sanji is expecting Zoro to say yes. Cutting the short distance between them, Zoro leans to kiss the off-guard Sanji on the head, "Bye then." He says, voice dropping.
Sanji takes a step back and immediately whips his head to stare at Zoro in disbelief.
"What?" Zoro breaks the silence, "Is that not allowed too?"
Sanji coughs, getting his composure back, "It's not that… just go already." Sanji shooes him away.
"This wouldn't be walking you home, if I don't actually see you going inside."
"Touche," Sanji bites back. "Here," Zoro looks at Sanji's unlocked phone being handed over to him.
"And if you lose your phone again?" Zoro teases.
"Then don't." Sanji's about to hide his phone back in his pocket, only for Zoro to catch his wrist and grab his phone.
"I'm kidding." Zoro enter his details on Sanji phones slowly, "You're not such a bad date than I actually imagined so I get to leave you my number."
Letting the word date pass, Sanji replies, "And what exactly did you imagined?"
"Shouting. Angry curses to be exact. And dead airs." Zoro gives the phone back.
Sanji looks at his phone, "What Roronoa Zoro?" He then edits the name, "Fixed it. Should have been Roronoa Moss Head." He shows Zoro the changed name.
"Bye then." Sanji says and before turning his back, he reaches for Zoro to plant a short peck on Zoro's cheeks. "You were agonizingly boring by the way."
Zoro to say the least, is stunned at the action. He never gets the chance to react as he sees Sanji sprinting towards his apartment. What he does note though, are ears blooming red and going across Sanji's face.
Ah, this is bad. Zoro can feel the place from where Sanji's lips landed. Warmth is spreading all throughout Zoro's skin. His heart pumping heavily for reasons he doesn't know.
Ah, Zoro wants Sanji. He really wants him. He wants him more. He wants him differently. It's not just Sanji's warmth. It's not just Sanji's pants. He knows it now, something that didn't sink in to him before. He wants Sanji. All of him. He wants to know everything. Even the little things - his pet peeves, what ticks him off and what makes him angry. What makes Sanji's ear turn red or when the blonde gets shy or even how he whispers words. He wants to take care of Sanji, not just in bed, he wants to please him, serve him even. Make him dependent on him, make him complacent so he'll be his. His and his alone. So that he can't even breathe without him. So that everything is his.
How quickly everything has changed.
