Clovis POV - En Route to Area 11 Viceroy's Palace – 2015 a.t.b.
"Sir, we have had some trouble in looking for the information you requested since they all seemed to be well-spread out, we were not able to find any pictures, but we were able to get all the general information, which ranges from their names, towards their birthlands." The general's face appeared through video call in the car's communication's system.
"Very well then, please flash them on the screen."
"Of course your highness."
Hmm... Eldest is Viketoria... Their parents seem to be dead... Their youngest is their little Brother, Lelouch Lamperouge... LELOUCH?
Lelouch POV – Student Council building – Lelouch's Quarters
"Lelouch, we have just noticed that several government sources have accessed your profile several times in the past several hours. It is entirely possible that Clovis may have found out, or is simply trying to investigate the Lamperouge family, since Iona, and Kongou's profiles have been accessed several times as well." Yamato reported in a more serious tone than she usually uses.
"I truly doubt that anyone has found out about me yet; if I was found out, then the entire school complex will be filled by Knight Police, and my brother's royal guard, he was one for theatrics after all... We have to be on alert though, there is always that small possibility that we were, in fact, found out." Yes, in case of such a possibility, with several explanations to old-man Reuben, we have made use of, and improved a network of tunnels underneath the school that extends to several old subway tunnels around the Tokyo Settlement. Of course the old man was surprised with the developments; but he still gave his blessing under the pretense that it can be used in emergency situations to lead the school populace to safety.
With this idea in mind, the area underneath Ashford was turned into a pseudo-bunker, complete with a submarine bay that currently has I-401, Iona, docked inside. This submarine bay is only known to Reuben, and Milly, but they are currently under the explanation that the submarine, I-401, is one of the many resources that my mother's secret service group, Codenamed: FOG, has procured.
"Should we go on standby around the Tokyo Settlement then, Admiral?" Yamato suggested, her voice carrying a hint of worry.
"No need for such measures." I answered; true with Hiei currently on stand-by deep inside Tokyo bay itself; along with Kongou and Maya, any possible emergency can easily be dealt with cover battleship barrages, thus effectively giving me and Nunnally enough time to make it towards Iona and then escape safely.
The barrages will then most likely be reported as Terrorist attacks, and since the targets we're aiming for will be the large groups of Britannian forces, the School should take minimal damage, and provide a possible cover-story for the Military to save-face for the losses that they will incur during such an event. The cover-up would most likely be about finding out about a possible terrorist attack on the School, and bombs being rigged around certain areas, thus leading to the loss of lives of several officers on the line of duty.
"Understood Admiral, but Luuluuu..." Urgh... I face-palmed, it seems as though that nickname will never leave me. Ever since, the now Knight of Nine, Nonette Enneagram started calling me such, along with Euphie and Nunnally, the name seems to have stuck, despite the word not being uttered once. "Are you sure that you don't want me there? I even thought up of a cool name for myself!"
"Yamato, we have already talked about this; I need you there in Iwo Jima to oversee all Fog operations. Besides, what is this name that you thought up of?" Seeing that Yamato went through all the trouble, I decided to at least hear her out.
"Hmmm..." Her voice then took on a thinking tone, as though she was just thinking up of an answer on the spot. "Argo!" She then happily answered.
"Argo huh..." Argo... It sounds familiar... I just can't seem to put my finger to it, but it sounds really familiar to one of those anime shows that Suzaku and Nunnally made me watch back then.
"Ah, Admiral, I just received a report from I-402 that the sensory equipment has finally been mounted on her, and several tons of nanomaterial has been loaded onto her supply racks." Yamato then reported. It seems like the preparations for the job for the Viceroy are complete, and the nanomaterial that were sent with for the preparations have been used to form a dummy crew for I-402. Clovis will be sending a few of his men after all...
"Good. Any reports from the Chinese Federation?" I asked, since the Misty Shipping Company that I developed, now has several branches opened up in each major port within the Asian continent.
"There are no sudden movements or any strange cargo yet as of the moment Admiral." It has been two years since I have made connections with the underground smugglers in the Chinese Federation. With the sentoku sister's help, the negotiations went more smoothly, mostly due to how I-400 and I-402 dressed. To think that their clothes were all part of Yamato's idea of 'having fun with the admiral,' when in fact she thought that far ahe- No. This is Yamato we're talking about, despite the professional persona that she employs during certain situations, I just can't picture her thinking up of such an advanced tactic. It's most likely just dumb luck on her part. Yes that was it.
"Hmph." I then heard Yamato pout over the call, "You just thought up something rude about me, didn't you Lulu? But still! Are you sure you don't want me there? I can provide a service that can only be found in five-star hotels! Come on Lelouuch!" She suddenly stated; her tone a mix between being sultry and clumsy. But it seems like she's really desperate to at least see how I am doing. She did dub herself as my big sister when she found me several years ago after all.
"Fine, you can come visit us here at Ashford, but you have to go back every now and then to Iwo Jima." I answered, before something heavily glomped me from the back.
"Thank you so much Lulu! Now that we're all alone; call me N-E-E-S-A-N I know you like those kinds of things!" Yamato's voice suddenly squealed and spoke up from behind me as two large objects suddenly propped themselves on my back, while a pair of arms wrapped around my chest and then began the process of squeezing.
"Yamat- Nee-Nee-san please! Arrgh!" I couldn't breathe now; Yamato is squeezing me too much... Is this the end? Heck, I feel as though Yamato said something disturbing about me!
*Boink *Crash
"Iona! Why did you do that to your Supreme Flagship? Is this a mutiny?" Yamato cried, as I gasped for air. Fortunately, Iona seems to have been keeping watch, and was there if any assassins ever came for my life, such as tonight.
*Poke
Err... A finger suddenly poked at my cheek. Looking for its source, I found Iona poking me, while looking at Yamato, as though she was teaching something.
"Admiral needs air." Were the only three words that Iona stated, before she suddenly left me at the mercy of the scariest Nee-san among them all, despite this Nee-san swearing her loyalty to me while she nursed me back to health back then, Yamato is just scary. Comparable to Milly even!
...
Huh? Silence? Iona already left, yet there are no awkward moments happening yet.
"Y-Yamato?" I asked, the Fog's Supreme Flagship's Mental Model, seems to be silent. I then decided to try calling her with her preferred nickname.
"Nee-san?"
Her head perked up a bit. Okay, that was a little success. But what now...
"Admiral... Are we useful to you?" Yamato then gloomily asked. Her words bringing about a heavy weight of sadness and depression with it. A total turn-around when compared to her earlier bubbly personality.
"What brought about this sudden attitude Nee-san?" I asked. There were times I observed that the Fog, my big sisters, were in this form of depressing state. Seeing the chance of finding and possibly fixing its cause now, I decided to fire out with that question.
...
Silence. I decided to wait.
...
"There are times we remember that the only thing in our minds was that we were weapons. We were made to be used as weapons. The way we're being used right now... It's totally different and goes against what we have decided to call, the Admiralty Code. This is the last objective that we remember from before we were rebooted... Before we were awakened by you. It's just that, we sometimes feel as though we are not doing what we were meant for with what we're currently doing. Yes, we admit that it's fun, but there's this nagging feeling within all of us, that we were made for something else. We were made to be weapons. So please Admiral, use us to wipe out Britannia, to wipe out your enemies!"
Yamato then started to raise her voice as she ended her speech. She was about to say more, but at this point, I feel as though I've heard enough.
"Enough." I stated, in the most commanding voice that I could muster. I tried imaging my father in my head, that Voice he used when he spoke to the nobles, despite being the man that I hate the most, his character proves useful at times, it is quite ironic when I think about it this way though.
"But... We're not fulfilling our purpo-"
"Who cares about your purpose?" I asked, making her gulp, as I saw that look of hers that was in fear. Fear of being cast aside. I then continued, "The past, the Admiralty code, are ideas and times that do not exist anymore. What remains from the past remains in the past. If this Admiralty Code of yours is something that is bothering you so much, then over-write that with the following words!" I ordered, as Yamato, whose face was now staring at me, simply nodded. Her face was one full of shock.
"Your purpose as the Fog, is to live for yourselves. No one has the right to dictate what your purposes are. Only you yourself can dictate as much! Face your life, it's pain, it's pleasure, leave no path untaken." I said quoting a famous artist from the EU, his name was Gaiman from what I remember.
"I... I understand admiral." Yamato seems to have been moved by my short speech. She has been like this from the beginning, based on what I remember. She can be pretty serious, yet easily moved at times. I guess she makes up that 'air-headed moe' character archetype that was a bit prevalent in anime before Japan was invaded.
"I finally understand Admiral! From this moment forth, the Fog exists solely for you! We shall achieve our dreams with you! We will destroy things for you! We will live for you!" Yamato dramatically declared, in the most contrasting whisper that she could muster, without being a disturbance to the others inside the Student Council building. Who knows what will happen if Nunnally hears of this, or Milly for that matter...
"Now Yamato-"
"Shush Lulu... At this moment in time, I am currently linked with the entire Fog, we have all chosen to live out our lives for you, our Admiral." With this Yamato, gave me a hug, and caressed my head on her lap until I felt really drowsy, "Now just sleep my Admiral, I know that look of yours, Haruna even catalogued that tired look of yours as the image for tired in her thesaurus of sorts."
"B-But—" I tried to protest. It has been years since I was pampered like this, with my hormones raging on, I really got embarrassed at times, but for tonight, somehow I don't feel any of those urges. I guess I'll just go with the flow and drift off to sleep just like those times ages ago when I found them, and they saved me.
Yamato POV
"Yamato." The monotonous child-like voice of Iona spoke through the door, most likely checking if our dear admiral is asleep.
"This child, he's grown into quite the splendid man of an Admiral hasn't he?" I gave out a thought, waiting for 401's response.
"Yes, but Lelouch still shows signs of inexperience, especially when it comes to managing us."
True, Iona does have a point. Using a submarine of all things would most likely attract attention, especially from our client, the Viceroy himself. Showing that the Misty Shipping Company has military-grade ships will surely prompt investigations by the Viceroy. The inspections on the Lamperouge profile are most likely just the beginning. I won't be surprised if we find some spies within the Company grounds next time... Or stalkers...
"We changed." Iona suddenly stated. Now that's a very interesting thought...
"How so Iona?"
"Observations suggest that the most efficient method of communication would be using the online connection that the Fog shares, but we are instead wasting processing speed to communicate while keeping in check our Admiral's resting state." Iona then walked up silently next to me, staring at our Admiral's face.
"He's quite feminine isn't he? If I were to simply make a glance, I might mistake our Admiral for a girl." I gave off a slight chuckle, which then prompted Lulu to shift to the side, escaping my grasp.
"Yes, I have once suggested that he make use of this feature of his to mislead his opponents at times." Iona replied, sitting herself on the bed with me and the Admiral, as she adjusted the admiral's head to rest on her lap this time. Lulu is a really heavy sleeper now that I look at it... But when he was at his own room back in Iwo Jima, he usually wakes up at the slightest sound of his door opening... Or could it be? Could it be that he feels safe enough to drop his guard around me? Oh how cute!.
"Admiral Lelouch reprimanded my suggestion afterwards though, despite my analysis and report on the possible rewards of such an action." Iona continued, this time staring at the face of Lulu.
"Well, our admiral has the pride of a man after all." I answered, "Despite the obvious rewards and tricks that he would be able to employ if he posed as a girl..."
The both of us then looked intently at our Admiral's innocent sleeping form. "How about we stay with him just for tonight, it's been a while since we've all slept together as one family after all..." I suggested, earning a quick approval from Iona, who immediately snuggled up next to our Admiral, and in effect became his hug-pillow for the night.
"Aww, no fair Iona I was su-"
Iona then placed two of her fingers to my lips and gestured to Lulu's slightly disturbed face. I nodded back at her, and slept on the other space beside our Admiral.
Lelouch POV – Misty Shipping Company – 1 week later
"Yes Admiral- Lelouch, the preparations are complete, I-402 has been equipped by a fully armed dummy crew, along with an extra energy-filler to be used in emergencies." Kongou stated, biting her tongue a bit at the word 'admiral,' as I asked for a situation report.
"How about I-402's current situation?"
"I-402 is currently at coordinates 28, 123. Situation with the dummy crew is currently at normal, the Prince's men are stabilized at the moment too." This time Maya, spoke up, as two data rings appeared around her. I have decided to visit the two, Kongou and Maya, after putting them in charge of this small operation with I-402.
"So everything is going smoothly then..." I gave a sigh, as Maya then proceeded to serve me some tea, before she went back to playing her piano at a corner.
"Good. Kongou." Upon calling out her name, Kongou from her seat immediately stood up with a response.
"Yes Ad- Lelouch."
"I need a live-feed of the entire situation, have all of I-402's on-board surveillance drones connected to my computer later tonight." I ordered, as Kongou walked up over to me, and gave me a plug-in device.
"Le-Lelouch, this has the needed application to connect with I-402's on-board sensors, along with a direct connection feature to the dummy crew on-board." Kongou stated, as she once again made an awkward pause in mentioning my name. "Just plug it in to your computer and run the program; you can also have Iona link-up and support I-402 with processes through the computer that this program is running on."
"I see, thank you Kongou." I stated, as I took the device.
"It was my pleasure Admiral." I then gave her a short playful glare afterwards, as to which Kongou-neesan then sputtered, trying to restate my name. It seems as though she took my light playfulness seriously.
"I'm so sorry Admi- Lelouch!" Kongou-neesan shouted, as Maya was humming louder with the music that she was playing.
"It's alright Kongou-neesan, we have been pretty busy after all." I gave a light shrug. Upon hearing me call her 'neesan' once again, she gave a short smile as I turned to leave. Hopefully she got the message that I don't really mind, but would really prefer it if she called me Lelouch instead of the rank that they gave me.
Lelouch POV – Student Council Building – Lelouch's room
"All Dummy crewmen are stabilized, and are making interactions with the Prince's units." I-402 reported, as I looked through several cameras within her.
"Make preparations to receive the package at the holding bay once the Prince's men are asleep. Plant several bugs in the Holding Bay, it's possible that the Prince's men will have that area secured once the package has arrived." I responded. I have decided to have the dummy crew simply act as a crew, and only make use of the several miniature bugs that were sent to I-402 before this operation started.
The current plans makes use of placing said bugs inside the holding bay, before the package gets there, since there will be no doubt that Clovis' guards will stand guard at that area once the package has been received, thus the use of the Crewmen to inspect said package once it's there was scrapped.
The bugs we are using are miniature drones that Hyuuga invented with the use of nanomaterial. With the rich ores and minerals that the Fog and I discovered underneath Iwo Jima, a discovery that I've attributed to the surprising volcanic faults underneath the island, Hyuuga created her 'secret' production lab wherein she creates her 'inventions' that range from said miniature drones, to sentient robots... Now that I think about it, my big sisters did have some trouble with cleaning up that mess, wherein the entire island of Iwo Jima almost became 'Robot Island.'
It took several corrosive warheads just to clean up that mess... Though it did prompt Hyuuga to invent the 'Corrosive Grenade.' A grenade with the same power as their missile counterparts, but weaker. A mini version, if seen in another perspective.
"It will be done Lelouch." I-402 responded, before I cancelled the link. I guess it's time to go to sleep now.
Walking towards my bed, I noticed that Yamato has once again claimed an entire half of my bed, leaving only enough space for me to sleep. For the past few days, I've noticed that Yamato has been clinging to me every night, a fact that I observed when I woke up due to thirst one night, and found that I was immobilized, and could not move an inch. It was then I realized the two soft things that was my squishing left arm that I decided to simply sleep it off...
Was it weird to have thoughts of nee-san like that? I guess it's something that I can only attribute to my hormones... I'm a healthy human male after all... But still, it's just really awkward to have those kinds of urges around those I have considered as family; my big sisters.
I mean, I don't get the same kind of urges when I think of big sister Cornelia. Maybe it's because deep down I don't really think of the Fog as family, but something else?
Impossible! No. Simply no.
With that thought in mind, I snuggled next to Yamato-neesan and went to sleep, somehow aware of the light breathing that came from her chest... Chest...
No.
This is bad.
Really bad. Bad enough that I can't sleep. Damn hormones. I guess it's a good thing that I'm not in Iwo Jima anymore; else I'm not sure how I would have turned out with these kinds of hormones raging through me currently. Is this how that damned father of mine feels? No, no thoughts like that; he is not your father. Yes, a few more years, with enough time I will be finally able to beat him! With my big sisters' help, with the Fog's, anything is possible.
With this, I placed an arm around Yamato, and used her as a form of pillow to sleep my troubles away. Those last thoughts of mine completely absent this time around.
Yamato POV
Seems like our little Admiral is tired, he's just snuggled up next to me! I can't wait to do things with him tonight! His blood pressure is even increasing! He's finally growing up...
'Restrain yourself Yamato, you may be the Supreme Flagship, but in this school I AM THE PREFECT! I will stop you if I must!' Hiei, whom I was having a chat over at a mental link 'overheard' my thoughts.
'Now, now. I will never take advantage of our little Lulu like that; our Admiral is innocent after all...' Yes, our Admiral, despite being exposed to violence as a child, and even subjected to rejection, by his own father nonetheless, he still has that sense of innocence upon him. An innocence that is so easily seen whenever he gets those eyes, those eyes yearning for some form of revenge.
Revenge is after all, a childish act, and this just goes to show how innocent and child-like Lulu is.
'Yamato...'
'Everything will be fine, I swear; as the Supreme Flagship of the Eastern Fog Fleet, I shall do everything within my power to help our Admiral in his happiness!'
'And we the members of the Fog shall aid you.'
Lelouch POV – Weeks later – Ashford Student Council clubhouse – Lelouch's Quarters
"Yes Admiral Lelouch; the package has arrived in a sealed container that will require it to be broken for it to be opened." I-402 stated, as I looked over the current report that was laid out in front of me.
I was correct on my assumption that the package to be shipped was not an ordinary one. The container it came in was a sealed-off one that did not leave any space for air to get through. It was a literal hollow metal-armored block. And based on a small sample test by an on-board bug, the material used for the container can hold-off a knightmare bullet barrage. The scanners within I-402 has also shown that within the cube-like container is another container, this time a metallic spherical object; but with the distorted views I am getting of the inside, I can assume that the metal container is also sealed off with lead inside.
"So the miniature bugs, won't work, and having a dummy crewmember covertly open it is also out of the question, with it being a totally sealed cube of concrete... Hmm..." I muttered, as I tried thinking of a plan, while re-reading the report that was laid out in front of me.
"Hmm... I-402, try seeing if it's possible to mold some of the bugs as part of the concrete, around 2 should do." The only option now was to simply bug the package itself. I can't use a large number of the miniature bugs since the risk of being discovered will be higher. But with a smaller number, such events of being discovered can simply be dismissed as a natural occurrence by the other party, especially with the way the nanomaterial is designed to turn to a powdery grey mush upon deactivation, similar to the finer powder of ground-up concrete.
"Color-melding is effective Admiral. I suggest that some stronger discrete scanners be prepared at the hangar bay at the MSC branch in the Tokyo Settlement." I-402 added after she reported the success of planting the bugs. Now that idea is actually pretty good! The only problem would be setting it up in time; knowing Hyuuga-neechan, she probably has a prototype of such a scanner, but I think it would be good to contact her too.
With that, I turned to Yamato who then nodded; somehow knowing that I needed to contact another member of the Fog. The phone in my pocket suddenly began to vibrate. I had this certain idea on who was calling, especially when my current circumstances are taken into account. I pressed the receive button after making sure that the phone was a safe distance from my ears.
"LuuuuLUUUUU! How is Iona-NEESAAAMAAAA?!" Hyuuga's fascination with I-401, Iona; clearly showing its fangs through the phone, as her rugged breathing began to take precedence over the silence of the night in my room, with Yamato's occasional giggle on my bed.
"U-Umm... Hyuuga-neesama..."
"Ohhh! I know what you need! I heard it all from I-402 herself!" Hyuuga boasted, the topic of her interest suddenly taking a turn. Based on what I know, it's either I-402 contacted her earlier on, or she was somehow able to hack into my conversation with Iona's sister submarine. Knowing big sister Hyuuga, she most likely did the latter.
"Good. Then Hyuu-"
"It's done! I will just have to take a short visit to add some modifications for breaking through lead, but I already had such devices installed when the facilities were built. Information gleamed from shipments are highly profitable after all Admiral." Hyuuga's voice, now exuding the experience that she utilizes when she misleads Britannian coast-guard patrols off-trail, and away from Iwo-Jima with a small force of Light Cruisers, sometimes even sinking such patrols, and coinciding it with the weather; thus making such events look like natural accidents.
"Admiral? Are you there?" Hyuuga's voice cuts me off from my thoughts about her; her next statements though, make me rethink these said thoughts.
"Ohh! Has little Lulu finally awakened the beast inside? Has he found my commanding stature within his tastes? This! This will sell! Attention, all Fog Members; the Admi-"
"WAAAIIIT! HYUUGA-NEESAMA!" I interrupted Hyuuga's voice-message, which seems to be transmitting to everyone inside the Fog right now. Heck, I already received an e-mail notification of a live voice-conference... Wait... Impo-
"LuuuLUUUU!" A certain flagship glomped me from behind, almost pushing me off my chair. "I didn't know that that was your taste! Very well, from this moment on, as your big sister and flagship, I shall make sure that my little brother and Admiral has the most comfortable setting when he works! If you want the commanding-type of woman, then who am I to oblige? I am the flagship after all!" Yamato announced, as she looked at my screen, wherein I was currently deleting the voice-conference e-mail notification that I received.
"I see... Very well then..." I then got the image of Yamato propping up her glasses, as she prepares to say something. "Hyuuga!" Yamato's voice was now clear and strong; it was a voice suited to generals on the battlefield... When I think about why all this is happening, I can't do anything but simply palm my face.
"Ughh..." I groaned, just as Yamato began scolding Hyuuga over the phone that she somehow swept from my hand. Thinking about it, the entire report is done and over with anyway, all that's left is to put my trust on the Fog, and await results. If I-402 does run into any trouble, there are several long-ranged Fog Ships stationed at certain points along I-402's route. These were put into place in the case that problems occured in the earlier failure of determining what's inside the package.
These checkpoints were also to give quick reinforcements to I-402, in the case of maritime complications such as pirates, natural accidents, or even political ones, which will either result in the Chinese Federation sending ships after I-402, or the Britannian government deciding to sink I-402 along with the package, if Clovis deems attaining said object too risky, and if I knew my brother, he will most likely abandon the package and his men on-board, if such a think were to happen.
*knock *knock
"My Lord, Dinner is ready." Sayoko came in, the caretaker that the Ashfords assigned to Nunnally when she was taken in by old man Ashford, thanks to Suzaku's efforts years ago. According to Iona's appraisal of the maid however, Sayoko is no stranger to combat, she has several callus on her fingers; showing possible acrobatic skills, and several scars across her body, scars in the shape of puncture wounds, as well as a few bullet-wounds, thus cementing the theory of Sayoko, being a soldier or warrior of some kind.
She also has this habit to move as quietly as possible, as well as this well-guarded presence on her, which was proven when Iona tried to sneak up to said maid; and when the Fog sneaks, the use of certain stealth utilities are involved, such as muffled movement noise, wherein the Fog's avatars glide across the ground, instead of touching it. Sayoko was somehow able to detect Iona's presence, and according to Iona, there was a short glimpse of shock on Sayoko's face before said maid adopted her usual demeanor, and simply offered assistance as to whatever Iona needed.
Knowing old man Ashford however, I wouldn't be surprised if he assigned some ancient ninja-bodyguard as a maid to Nunnally...
"Will your guest be joining us?" Sayoko asked, as she noticed Yamato lounging about on the bed. Her eye looks as though it's evaluating Yamato.
"Umm..." I looked at the Fleet's fogship, who merely gave a wave in response, as she tinkered with a random datapad on my bed. Most likely playing some random game with another member of the Fog. Her wave must most likely mean a yes, and that the game's about to finish, so go ahead.
"Yes, Yamato here will be joining us." I answered, introducing Yamato to the maid, who only nodded in response.
"Very well, I must make the arrangements, Lady Nunnally is currently waiting downstairs." Sayoko gave a bow and left.
When I went downstairs, I was greeted with Nunnally seated at a table, simply smiling, as a platter of cookies were presented on the middle of the table, as though it's the main dish.
"Good Evening Nunnally." I ineptly stated. There was this awkward divide between the two of us, unlike before. I guess I can attribute it to being separated from Nunnally for a few years. Despite this however, I was surprised by Nunnally's sudden statement.
"Big Brother, I heard from Milly that you have met some of... Mother's friends." Nunnally stated, her awkwardness showing, especially when the topic came to our deceased mother. But to start such a conversation, I feel really proud of her...
"Ah yes, they were a part of a secret unit that Mother was a member of back then." I answered back, her mouth etching to a smile, as she then stated something that I literally did not expect.
"So brother- Who are you marrying?"
Yes. I now understand completely. She was with Milly the entire time after all... As grateful as I am... And as proud as I am... With Nunnally being able to pull a fast one on me... I should have realized that the etching smile was actually a laugh that she was holding in though. The slightly faster pace of speaking that she used to ask that unexpected question should have been clue enough.
"Big Brother; today I learned how to bake cookies with miss Sayoko." Nunnally answered, most likely seeing the contemplating look on my face, her innocent smile melting the ice and trying to melt the tension between us. Hearing this, I took a piece from the plate on the middle, taking a taste. A nice try though Nunnally... A nice try. Cutting off my thoughts in order to distract me, by bring up a totally different subject is a pretty good tactic, but it is pretty ineffective if there's no one else to follow-up the topic and keep it there.
"Mm... This is good Nunnally; I am sure that given time, you will be able to attract several fairies and successfully capture them." I teased, remembering her quirks when we were younger. With this I call check.
"Lelouch!" Nunnally screamed, as Sayoko came in with a giggle, serving the dinner for the day.
"Miss Sayoko, not you too!" Nunnally wailed, as she faked some tears. Very crafty little sister, but such an act will not move me!
"Big Brother and Miss Sayoko are... Uhu... So... Uhuu..." Damn it, she even has the tears correct, though her words needs more practice, since it was obviously an act.
"Oho ho ho ho; what's this Lulu? Making your little sister cry at such a time of day?" Oh damn it.
Yamato has arrived. It seems like they're about to double-team me. Where's Sayoko? Damn it! She left me! Left me in front of these two scary women.
"Big Brother who is this?" Nunnally innocently asked, her demeanor different from the crying persona she was enacting earlier.
"Ohhh... Didn't your big brother tell you? We are both promised to one another, we are set to marry soon!" Yamato dramatically stated, her voice imitating one of those pitiful heroines in late night operas.
"Oh my! Big Brother how could you! I am so very sorry miss; but do not worry however! I approve completely!" Nunnally declared, as she then swallowed, causing Yamato to stop in her crying.
"Big Brother, I want seven nieces." I then fainted.
Waking up, I was met with Iona's inquisitive face; and Yamato at the background, hurriedly contacting several people.
"Lelouch, it's an emergency." Iona stated, as she saw my eyes open.
"W-What?" I asked, as I immediately stood up. "Where's Nunnally? Where are we?"
"We're currently in your room; Sayoko has brought Nunnally towards the hidden bunker underneath the building, we have a certain special guest who's downstairs at the door; knocking." Yamato answered, as several holographic data rings appeared around her.
"All units are on standby Supreme Flagship" I heard several voices robotically shout out at the same time from the several data rings around Yamato. Seeing said flagship nod at me with a serious look told me that this was no joke, and a glimpse from the communication channels illustrated the severity of the current situation.
The door to my room suddenly opened, and in came Hiei and Iona. "Admiral, we shall serve as your protection if you seek to pursue the situation downstairs," Hiei stated, after which Yamato tapped my shoulder for attention, and promptly explained the situation.
"Prince Clovis is downstairs, there are only two men with him, and upon scanning for any possible weapons; we have only detected 2 handguns on the bodyguards, and a ceremonial chambered pistol on the Prince." Yamato continued, "We currently have several underwater ships at new Tokyo Bay, with their sights set on areas around the Academy, the Prince's visit seems to be unofficial as well, since even the Ashfords were not informed, and the Prince's arrival was through a decrepit vehicle."
Yamato then shows me a live camera feed showing the situation at the Student Council building's lobby. In it was Clovis dressed in his usual attire, showing off the extravagant clothes he is known for, and above it, a brown leather jacket reminiscent of a delinquent rich kid.
"I guess that reasons out how Clovis got here virtually undetected. He did something that was simply inconceivable for us to associate him with." I spoke out, showing that I have grasped the current situation with Yamato.
Though I do need to give my brother some props, it seems like he is learning; but to go as far against his own line of thinking... To get here through such a vehicle must have caused him quite a bit of cognitive dissonance, but according to what I've just heard, it seems as though he knocked casually on the door, as though there was nothing wrong with the world.
"Alright then! Hiei, would you kindly accompany me downstairs?" I asked the girl, who gave a sharp salute in return. The other two then looked to me for further instructions.
"Yamato, you stay here and oversee the current situation, contact the necessary individuals if needed. I give you full authority if things turn out badly." Yamato then smiled, and got to work, several data rings immediately appearing around her. "Iona, I need you to stay with Nunnally, you're one of the only ones I can trust with my family, bring her aboard and escape to Iwo Jima if need be." I ordered as to which Iona simply nodded and left.
"Good Luck Lelouch, we got your back if it's needed, and I guess Hiei will be there physically." Yamato said, as she waved us off.
"Alright Hiei, here's what we will be doing." I then began to explain my plan to Hiei, as we walked towards the building's lobby to meet my brother.
When I first played Chess against my older brother Clovis, I thought of him as the type of person to run when the chance is given... His background in art helped build up that image of him in my mind as well. To think that the upper-class socialite that is my older brother would come to visit me through an old decrepit vehicle, while wearing clothes that one can associate with a rich delinquent, is currently hugging me. His face was tearing up, breaking that almost immaculate image of a smile on his face that I've grown accustomed to.
"Brother, it's been so long, I could not believe it at first, but to see you first-hand!" My older brother broke the hug, drinking in the sight of me, as his gaze then drifted to Hiei.
"And my, you have really grown Lulu..." His eyes trailed from Hiei towards me, while smiling suggestively.
"B-Brother!" I shouted out, flustered, totally caught off-guard by his sudden actions.
"B-Besides that! How did you find me?" I asked, no demanded of him, faking my voice with a tone of pleading in it, showing my desperation.
This is technically the first phase, and even if I don't expect my brother to fall for such a trick, the 'desperation' part will totally set in.
"It was not really that hard Lelouch..." He then looked me in the eye, threatening to spill a few tears if I were to not accede to his next request, "I simply came to see you and ask why... Why didn't you go back?"
"I... You see.." I then took an exaggerated glance at Hiei, who then acted nervous. I have to say though, her acting is truly top-notch, she is literally embodying the flustered heroine in one of those anime series that the Fog watched back at Iwo Jima. I don't know why there's a collection of several pre-invasion series in the base, but I simply concluded that it must have been a hobby of one of the past caretakers, before he or she fled upon hearing of the invasion.
"Ah... I see." Clovis then nodded, his eyes closing for his thoughts. "Why don't you-"
"No brother, it's not safe, if I were to go back then you of all people should know that Father would most likely pawn me off to some random noble!" I shouted, earning my brother's silence, his face furrowing on thought.
"I..." Clovis then opened his eyes, and looked at me, then to Hiei, and finally back at me. "I understand... Is Nunnally?"
He trailed off, most likely thinking that something unfortunate happened to our sister. I guess Clovis is really as soft-hearted as ever.
"No, she's fine, if you come back some other day I can arrange a meeting between the three of us, she is currently someplace safe." I answered, hoping that this gamble would pay-off. If Clovis accepts and comes back with no intention to bring us back, then I am assured a link to the inside, it will also make it easier to move around the country. If Clovis breaks the deal though, then my clue of Nunnally being in a safe place should already tell him that doing such a thing may forfeit the lives of both Nunnally and me
"I am really glad to hear that." Clovis then responded with a smile, "I guess I'll see you sometime soon then!" He then laughed, "Introduce me to her next time!" He gestured to Hiei, who simply grumbled in response. "I believe my time for tonight is past, else the Pure-bloods might get suspicious and actually home in on this location." Clovis then gestured to his two guards who then left through the door, most likely began to set things up.
"See you as well brother, the next time around; please send a message ahead of time. I also suggest you go with a baggier jacket next time, those robes of yours are showing!" I answered back, earning a short laugh from my brother.
"Strict as always brother! Oh yeah, tell those friends of yours to feel free tinker with the package I got, it's one of the closest clues that I was able to gleam from investigating the murder of your Mother. Just please let my men get back home safe, the package can be as good as delivered now that it's with your girls" He then winked at me as he swiftly left through the door.
I have to admit he really got me at that last one, I wasn't even able to retort.
