AN: Sorry for the late update but I just wanted to get this right and I had exams in college. Here it is the final chapter.

Epilogue

3 months after Bonnie's transformation, the family was living in peace. A peace treaty was formed between the humans, vampires, witches and werewolves. There were obviously some debates about the causes and terms with the peace treaty as they knew the different species would never get along completely. Klaus had been developing a relationship with his father and it was heading in the right direction so Caroline didn't have to use her method of them talking. Klaus and most of the family had been assessing Tim from afar as he continued to always be around Davina. Klaus knew what their relationship was but he still wasn't happy about it and he made Tim know everyday what he thought and never missed an opportunity to threaten him. Bonnie however was learning how to control the gift that the ancestors gave her, along with her new vampire senses. They were all confused at what she was at first but it soon came into light and she was the only one of her kind. Part unnatural and part natural. She had called her family like her mother made her promise to but she never told them about what she was or what happened. They all assumed that she was still witch and was living her life happily. However, only one part was completely true.

They were throwing a ball, similar to the one in Mystic Falls, but lot less extravagant. The attire would still be formal but they didn't want extravagant ball gowns like the last one. Bonnie was nervous about this ball as she invited her family and was going to tell them about her new abilities. All the men were wearing tuxes and the girls were wearing long slim dresses. Caroline was wearing blood red, Rebekah was wearing dark green, Bonnie was wearing dark blue, Davina was wearing midnight purple, Amelia was wearing silver/grey, Sage was wearing burgundy, Astrid was wearing a light pink and finally, Cami was wearing white. Marcel had finally taken Davina's advice and asked Cami about becoming a vampire. Davina's words about losing her were getting to him and were stuck in his mind every second of everyday. Cami had noticed his distance and was concerned and when she asked, he told her the truth of her mortality. Surprisingly, Cami understood and her own fears were controlling her and she had decided that she did want to become immortal. Marcel was happy with her answer and promised he would take her everywhere and he would never leave her. She was not a vampire yet; she wanted to wait till her birthday which was only 2 months away.

As people began to arrive for the ball, many people looked familiar. Some were from the factions of New Orleans as the ball was a celebration of peace but they had also invited many allies that were at the ball in Mystic Falls. Davina was excited as this was her first ball as she couldn't go in the past as it would have attracted attention if anyone discovered who and what she was. They are all there to greet people, except Bonnie and Kol who waited upstairs for everyone to arrive.

As the waiters were out and the champagne was being served by the waiters, Caroline was laughing as Klaus was whispering something into her ear but then she saw someone step through the door and she quickly walked towards them. The second she was in front of them, she said "Lizzie, it's great to see you".

Liz smiled at her and hugged her as Caroline wrapped her arms around her. She said "it's nice to see you too".

Caroline pulled away and felt Klaus beside her as he wrapped his left arm around her waist. He said "Liz, it's nice to see you again".

"You too, Klaus. I trust you have been protecting her?" she glanced to Caroline.

Klaus smirked as Caroline rolled her eyes and said "I'm not a child and I am standing right here".

Liz laughed and Klaus looked to the man standing next to her who they had yet to acknowledged and said "Anthony, its good to see you again".

Anthony nodded and said "pleasure to be here".

Caroline remembered Anthony from the ball in Mystic Falls and could see that on that night, he and Liz were getting close as they talked for most of the night. She was intrigued by what had become of the pair but as she glanced between them, Liz was trying to avoid eye contact and when she did catch her, Liz blushed slightly and Caroline thought it looked like a teenager had been caught with her boyfriend by her parents. Caroline smiled and reached out for Liz's hand and when she touched it, she said "let's leave them to talk. I want to introduce you to the kids".

"What's kids?" Liz immediately asked intrigued.

Caroline giggled and kissed Klaus' cheek and said "be good, I'll be back soon".

"I'm always good" he says with the smirk that always means he is up to something and Caroline gave him a knowing look.

As they walked across the courtyard where the ball was being held, Liz asked again about the kids and Caroline said "Marcel is my son and we adopted him in 1820".

"Why didn't you tell me?" they stopped walking as Caroline looked to Liz.

She said "we thought he had died when Mikael attacked the city. We tried to save him but we couldn't. We believed him to be lost but then when we came here, he was still living and looking after the city that we built in our family name".

Liz smiled but then she frowned and said "kids as in plural".

Caroline bit her bottom lip slightly and said "we also have a daughter called Davina who is genetically ours. Before we became vampires, I was pregnant with her but I thought I had lost her when I changed. Turns out Esther took her and made her hate us".

"How?" Liz asked innocently as she didn't know the effect it had on Caroline to think about what happened.

Caroline gave her, her best smile and said "I will explain later but you have to meet them" she took her hand again and began to pull her towards Marcel and Davina who were with James and Cami and were talking to a witch from out of town.

As they approached them, Davina and Marcel smiled at their mother and she said "hey, mom".

"Hi, sweetie".

The witch smiled and said "Caroline".

Caroline laughed slightly and said "Danielle, its good to see you".

They both hugged and then as they pulled away, Danielle said "I couldn't very well miss this".

Caroline hummed and said "especially how you missed the last one".

Danielle gave her a cheeky grin and said "you think I would miss this. Seems like I already have missed a lot since I can sense six new hybrids in the room and this one is special right here" she gestured to Davina who smiled. "Besides, grandkids, gotta love them but they can be a nightmare".

"Grandkids?" Cami said "you don't look a day over 30".

"Thank you".

Caroline rolled her eyes and said "never believe what you see, Cami. Danielle is a witch and one that has been taking herbs to slow down the process of ageing for as long as I've known her". She looked back to Danielle and said "you're in your mid 80's now, right?"

Danielle gave her a pointed look and said "yes but let's keep my age to ourselves, shall we?"

Caroline nodded as usual as Danielle was always very secretive about her age as she wanted to be as young as possible but still loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Danielle then saw someone who she knew and excused herself, leaving Caroline and the others alone.

Caroline then said "I would like you guys to meet Elizabeth Forbes. Lizzie, these are my children Davina and Marcel" she gestured to them "and their partners, James and Cami".

"It's nice to meet you" Liz said with a smile.

"Wait" Marcel said shocked "this is the Elizabeth that was looking after you for the past few years?" Caroline nodded. Marcel smiled and said "it's a pleasure to meet you".

"Thank you" Davina said "for looking after our mother when she needed it".

Liz smiled at the manners before she looked to Caroline and said "are you sure they're Klaus' kids, they're too polite?"

They all laughed and Caroline nodded and said "there's a hint of the devil in their eyes" Marcel and Davina laughed "that's all Nik".

They were suddenly interrupted when Rebekah stood next to Caroline and said "we have an emergency".

"What?" Caroline asked panicked.

"Bonnie is refusing to leave her room".

Caroline runs a hand through her hair before she looks at Liz and asked "do you know where Bonnie's parents are?"

"They were at the hotel when we left, they were nearly ready so they should be here soon" Liz said.

"Okay" Caroline said quickly "if they come, make sure they stay and try to make them happy". Liz nodded but she was confused in why she would have to do that but they left quickly before she could ask.

When Rebekah and Caroline got to Bonnie and Kol's room, Stefan and Kol were stood outside as they were trying to get Bonnie to open the door but they girls quickly shooed them away. Caroline knocked on and said "Bon, open up, it's just Bekah and I".

After a few moments of silence, the door unlocked and they opened it as Bonnie returned to sit on the bed. They sat on either side of her, after Rebekah closed the door. Bonnie's midnight purple dress was perfect as was her hair that was up high but a few strands of curls were let down to release and the diamond heart necklace that lay on her chest that Kol got her after the transition. However, both women could see the unshed tears in her eyes and Caroline asked "are you going to tell us what's wrong?"

Bonnie hesitated then said "what if they hate me for what I've become? What if they don't accept it and never want to see me again?"

"Do you regret changing?" Rebekah asked.

Bonnie immediately shook her head and said "no, never. I love Kol and I already decided that I want to spend eternity with him...it's just I'm afraid".

"Never let anyone control your fear" Caroline said firmly "no matter what happens tonight, you have a family, Bonnie. We love you".

Bonnie smiled at that but then Rebekah said "besides, if they get pissed we can just compel them to accept you". Bonnie and Caroline both shot her a look and Rebekah said "it was a joke, you know haha. It's supposed to be funny".

Caroline and Bonnie both laughed at Rebekah's annoyed look and Bonnie said "thanks, Bekah".

She grinned slightly and then said "so are we going downstairs or staying up here moping all night?" Caroline and Bonnie now stood in front of Bonnie, holding out their hands and she smiled as she took them and the three girls walked out of the bedroom.

When they got to the balcony of the courtyard, they saw the family were stood there and were looking over the courtyard as if Klaus was going to give as speech as he was stood in the centre. They joined Klaus, Kol and Stefan by their sides and the men wrapped their arms around their waists. All seven hybrids, five original vampires, six vampires, a tribrid, a human and Bonnie were now looking at the people below them. For the first time, Bonnie saw her parents, Lucy and Jamie smiling at her as they each had a champagne glass.

Klaus said as the room was silent "we are here today not just to celebrate the return of family" he glanced at either side of him to see his whole family "but to celebrate peace. A time of peace is finally upon us. The destroyer is dead along with the original witch who has tried to destroy all of us; with them gone we are free. The treaty has been signed and New Orleans is a safe heaven for all. Within the boarders of this great city, we are now at peace and we will continue to be. I want you all to raise your glasses to peace".

"To peace" Everyone said then drank some champagne. A photographer then stepped forward and snapped a picture of the family as they smiled

They all walk down the stairs to talk to their guests as they already began to talk but Bonnie hesitated and Kol took her hand and squeezed it. As they walked down the stairs, Bonnie noticed that some members of the family were giving her comforting smiles. She walked towards her family who were smiling and they both stood less than a foot away when Rudy said "Bonnie".

Bonnie smiled and said "hey, dad".

He stepped forward and hugged her but as he pulled away, he noticed the nervous look on her face and asked "are you okay?"

Bonnie looked between her father, mother, brother and cousin but then looked at Kol and said "sure you don't wanna leave?" He responded by wrapping an arm around her waist tightly, which made her smile.

Lucy and Abby could sense something was off and Lucy touched Bonnie's arm and gasped. She stepped back and said "you're..."

Abby looked between them before she too touched Bonnie and gasped. She said "you're a vampire".

"What?" Rudy and Jamie gasped.

Abby looked at Kol and said "you did this". She glared at him and as she raised her hand, he flew back into the wall.

Everyone in the courtyard was silent as the music stopped and they all watched Kol hold his head as both Lucy and Abby gave him an aneurism. People whisherpered about why Kol wasn't fighting back but those whispers were soon answered by those who said that they were Bennett witches. Lucy sneered "you turned my cousin into a bloodsucker".

Kol couldn't say anything but Klaus said "if you're going to spill blood, can you do it outside? We just finished renovating".

"Nik" and "Dad" were both said at the same time as Caroline and Davina scolded him as he just smirked.

"I knew it was a mistake letting you near her" Abby sneered as she and Lucy walked closer to Kol and his pain increased.

Bonnie whooshed in front of him and looked at her mother and cousin and said "it wasn't his fault; I chose to be this way. Stop hurting him". Abby clenched her fist so the aneurism was at full power and Bonnie's eyes flashed silver for a moment as she shouted "STOP IT". A ring of fire then went around Bonnie and Kol and everyone took a step back.

The pain for Kol stopped immediately and he said "looks like you got another trick".

"Are you okay?" Bonnie asked worriedly as she helped him up.

He nodded and said "nothing that a little bourbon can't fix".

She rolled her eyes but then looked back to her family and Jamie said "I thought vampires can't have witch powers".

"They can't" Bonnie said "but if you guys let me explain then this wouldn't have been necessary. I'm a hybrid. Half vampire, half witch".

"That's impossible" Lucy said and other witches in the room began to whisper and stepped closer.

Bonnie shook her head and said "the ancestors. They knew I was going to become a vampire and they gave me a gift. They didn't just let me keep my powers; I'm stronger than I ever was". Bonnie's eyes flashed silver and the fire around them quickly disappeared without a spell. She said "please understand" as she took a few steps closer to her mother and was now stood in front of her.

Abby hesitated but she quickly reached for Bonnie and pulled her into a tight hug. Bonnie smiled as her mother said "you're still my daughter and I love you". She then pulled away and kissed her forehead but then looked at Kol and said "you however, promised that you would protect her".

"I stopped him" Bonnie jumped in "he tried but I wouldn't let him".

"And now your immortal" she glared at Kol "give me your word that you'll protect her this time".

"I give you my word" Kol said then smirked "as long as she doesn't stop me" he gestured to Bonnie. Davina then walked towards him and he asked "got a spell to help me head?"

She smiled and handed over a glass of bourbon and said "there's your medicine, uncle Kol".

He smiled as he took the glass and said "I knew there was a reason you're my favourite niece".

"I'm your only niece" she said while rolling her eyes and he drank his bourbon and sighed.

Two hours later, what happened had been forgotten but many witches had questions for Bonnie and she was happy to answer them as she was unknown. All the family were happy but then Tim wanted to speak to Klaus alone which was suspicious but he managed it without rousing suspicion in Davina.

As Klaus and Tim walked into the library, Klaus asked "what is this about?"

Tim moved nervously under his watchful eye and said "I want to ask you for Davina's hand in marriage".

Klaus grip on his glass tightened and he sneered "what makes you think you're worthy?"

"I've protected her for nearly 700 years, I have been tortured, nearly died for her and more than anything I love her more than my own life. I would do anything for her and that's why I am asking you...I know how much you and her mother mean to her and I know she would want me to ask you".

Klaus couldn't deny that Tim wasn't worthy as he had shown him in the last few months just the extent he would go to for her and the stories that he had asked James for, just backed it up. He wouldn't even let anyone be with his daughter if he didn't think he was worthy and that was why Tim was still around. However, marriage just made it seem like Tim was trying to take her away as that is what it was like in his day.

Tim said "I wanted to marry her long ago but I didn't want to start off our life together on the run. Now that we are at peace, I want us to start our new life together with our family".

Klaus took a step forward that could be considering threatening and said "our family?"

"You may not consider me as family but Davina does. She cares about everyone so in turn I will protect everyone in this family till my dying breath. All that I want is to marry her".

Klaus considered his answer and walked past him and he saw that Tim sighed when he put his hand on the door. Klaus looked over his shoulder and said "you have my permission". Tim smiled even though Klaus then said "but know this, if you ever hurt her, there is not a place you can hide. I will find you and make you wish that you were never born and I will kill everyone you know". Klaus then left without waiting for Tim's reply as it wasn't a threat, it was a promise.

6 months later it was the wedding day. Davina had said yes and it was no surprise when Tim was greeted with threats from everyone in the family. Especially her Grandfather, great uncle and her cousins as their wolf instincts to protect their family kicked in and they said it was their duty to make it hell for Tim so they knew if he was the right one or not. Markus said that they should have it like they would a thousand years ago and Klaus agreed but they were both quickly shot down, when Davina discovered it would involve Klaus and Tim sword fighting. It wasn't the fact that she didn't have faith in Tim, it was just the odds were against him. Her father was after all the original hybrid.

They were all at the church and Davina was in a room waiting, looking into a mirror and would leave when it began. Her hair was in curls that was up at the front but then went down at the back. She wore at white dress that had flower lace straps on her shoulders and as it went down onto the bodies, the lace continued to make flowers over it. The flower patter stopped at the waist and it was pure white after that and puffed out slightly but did have a flower every so often. On the waist however, was a diamond belt that was embedded into the dress. Davina even wore a small tiara as Rebekah had said that every princess should wear one, especially on her wedding.

Bonnie, Amelia, Cami, Sage and Liz were in the room with her and were smiling at how she looked but then Rebekah and Caroline walked in. They were making sure that the wedding was perfect and Davina thought that her mothers head was going to explode but Caroline just said that she wanted everything to be perfect. Caroline gasped when she saw her daughter and said "you look beautiful".

Tears were beginning to form in her eyes and Davina pulled her mother in and said "don't cry".

"My daughter is getting married, I'm aloud this" Caroline said firmly and the others in the room laughed.

She eventually calmed down and Davina said "is everything okay?"

"Yep" Caroline said popping the P "everything is on schedule".

"And Tim?" Davina asked nervously.

They all gave her an intrigued look and Amelia said "are you nervously?"

Davina looked down for a few moments and said "what if he leaves me? This family can get a little..."

"Crazy?" Liz said.

"Hectic?" Bonnie said.

"Murderous?" Sage said and they all glared at her "what?"

"Complicated" Davina said "what happens if in a hundred years he doesn't want to be with me?" she began to panic.

Caroline said "calm down, he loves you". There was then a knock on the door and Caroline left her for a moment to answer it. She opened it and smiled as she saw Klaus and walked out of the room to talk to him.

He said "nearly ready?"

"Give us a few minuets" she said glancing back to the door.

"What's wrong?" he asked confused.

She took a deep breath and she said "Davina's having cold feet. She thinks that he will leave her eventually".

He sighed and said "she knows that we'll kill him if he does anything".

She smiled sadly and said "maybe that's the problem. Even if he hurts her, she'll still love him".

Klaus thought for a moment as he glanced to the door and said "go in, make sure she is ready in 5 minuets".

"Why?" she gave him a pointed look that meant she knew he was up to no good.

"I just need to have one last word with Tim" he walked away as she said his name but he knew she would try to stop him.

When he got to the alter, Tim was standing at the end talking to James and as Klaus approached, he smiled. That smile soon disappeared as Klaus took him by the neck and pinned him to one of the church pillars and everyone was shocked. Stefan, Kol, Elijah, Marcel, Finn, Anthony, Markus, Edvard, Oscar, Colby and Brandt were also in the room as Davina wanted it to just be family, with Anthony as he was with Liz and Father Kieran as he would be performing the ceremony and was family to Davina. They all jumped from their seats but Klaus had his hand wrapped tightly around Tim's neck.

Kol said jokingly "I thought we couldn't hurt him anymore".

Klaus ignored him and said "you will treat her like the princess she is. If I ever see a tear in her eye because of you, I will find you and I won't kill you, I will make eternity a living hell for you. She will smile everyday and you will do anything to keep it there. Are we understood?"

Tim nodded through the grip and Klaus dropped him and he said as he stood "I already told you, I would do anything for her. You threatening me is never going to change the love I have for her".

"Good" Klaus then turned and was greeted by not just the men, but all of the girls but Davina and Caroline.

Rebekah said "she's ready". Klaus immediately walked down the aisle and made his way to Davina's room.

Caroline and Davina were just stood looking at each other and Caroline said "my baby's getting married".

Davina smiled as she took her mothers fingertips into her hands and said "I'm still your baby, it doesn't matter that I'm getting married".

Caroline nodded as she wiped her tears away and said "I know. You can never get out of that title".

They both laughed and Davina pulled her in and said "never want to, momma". Caroline tightened her grip on her and Davina said "however, if you squeeze me to death, then we may have a problem".

Caroline pulled away with a smile on her face and said "sorry".

"Were you nervous on your wedding day?" Davina asked.

Caroline nodded and said "no where near as worse as your father though" Davina gave her an intrigued look "as you know, your father wasn't treated that well as a child. Back then, the bride and groom weren't aloud to see each other for a few days and he feared that I would change my mind. He thought that I wouldn't show up on the wedding day and that it would have all been a joke. People then only married to increase their power, wealth or land. It was very unheard of to marry for love and that was another thing that made us nervous".

Davina held her hand tightly as she nodded as she understood that it was different to be in a marriage back then but her parents would always be the exception. She then said "I wanna give you something" Caroline looked at her curiously "close your eyes and open your mind".

Caroline did as she said and after a few moments, she was greeted by a memory from Davina. There was an open field which was covered in blue bells and a small blonde haired, blue green eyed child, who was no older than 5, was running through it. She had a smile on her face as she was running and when she got into the centre, she began to twirl before she fell to the floor in giggles and their was a small rabbit next to her. She picked it up and the memory stopped as she kissed the rabbit and giggled once again.

They both pulled out of the memory and it brought tears to Caroline's eyes as she knew who it was and Davina said "one of my happy memories as a child. I thought you might-" she was cut off by another bone crushing hug.

"Thank you" Caroline said which made Davina giggle at how precious just that one memory gave to her mother.

"I love you, momma".

"I love you too, baby" she pulled away slightly and kissed her forehead.

The door to the room then opened and they were greeted with a smiling Klaus who froze when he saw them. They both smiled at each other before Caroline left one final kiss to Davina's forehead and walked over to Klaus and said "don't be long". She kissed him and then looked at Davina and said "I'll be waiting near the alter". She then left.

Davina gave her father a tearful smile and no words were needed as they walked towards each other and wrapped their arms around each other. He closed his eyes and sighed as he took her in and she said "is everything ready?"

They both pulled away and he wiped away a stray tear that was on her cheek and he said "yes...time for you to get married".

She laced her fingers through his and said "I wanna show you something". She did the same that she did with her mother and showed him the same memory. She could see the smile that graced his lips but then he lost it and she noticed the look in his eyes. Guilt and regret. She tightened her grip on his hand and said "it wasn't your fault. I'm here now, that's all that matters".

"I should have protected you" Klaus said firmly and turned away from her.

She took a deep breath as she walked around him and said "momma told me what you did. She said that when she was pregnant, you would hold her close and have a hand on her stomach when you were in bed because you were afraid that it was a dream and if you woke up that it wouldn't be true. You would tell me stories and talk to me and you would kiss her stomach which always made momma smile and laugh. Unlike the rest of the men, you wanted a baby girl but if you didn't have one then you would love it all the same". Klaus finally looked at her and he could see tears in her eyes "I'm still your little girl".

He raised his hand and wiped the tear that fell and he said "I won't let anyone harm you again" she smiled and he pulled her in to embrace her and he kissed her hairline.

She said "I love you, daddy".

He sighed and said "I love you too, sweetheart".

When they finally left the room, they walked towards the alter but before they got into view, she froze and he said "if you want to leave, you can".

She smiled as she knew he was paranoid about her getting married and not being his little girl anymore and no matter how many times she told him that it wasn't true, he still didn't believe it. She said "I love him".

"Then shall we?" he offered her his arm.

She took his arm and they came into view at the aisle doors and everyone stood and smiled. She tightened her grip on him and said quietly "daddy" he looked to her "don't let me fall".

"Never" he said determined which she smiled at and they began to walk down the aisle.

A few hours later and all of the couples were dancing. The reception was at home in the courtyard and Rebekah and Caroline had decorated it without telling Davina of the plans. They made of forest theme with thin white trees being in the courtyard that have lights attached to them and the table was made out of wood. They managed to make it look like the stars and the full moon was out which Davina adored and couldn't thank them enough.

All the couples were dancing and Klaus held Caroline tightly which always made her laugh. His hands were around her waist as hers were around his neck. They both glanced to Davina, who was dancing with Tim and then looked back at each other and she said "do you remember our wedding day?"

He hummed and gave her a dimpled smile as he said "the day that I married the most beautiful woman in the world". He kissed her and they both smiled into it but they soon pulled away as he rested his forehead on hers "how could I ever forget". They both shared in the memory of that day.

*Flashback*

Neither Klaus nor Caroline had seen each other in six days as it was tradition. She was being shown how to be a good wife and was being told of everything that was expected of her. They may have been restricted to their distance but they used Rebekah to speak to each other through letters. She wasn't happy at first but she could see that her brother and sister were driving themselves crazy as they were use to seeing each other every day. Klaus and her father had fought and Klaus had managed to beat him which meant that he was strong enough to protect his daughter. He had handed over the payments, as did Caroline's father, which only meant that the wedding was really happening.

As the wedding day came, they were both nervous and excited but the second they saw each other, all of the nerves vanished. They both walked towards each other for the first time in a week and they smiled. Klaus was wearing brown pants with a white shirt and had a sword at his waist, while Caroline was wearing a simple white dress and she was wearing a flower crown. Klaus was followed by his brothers who would stand by his side and Caroline was followed by her mother and Rebekah. They stood in front of each other and the village leader, Ake, began and said "we are gathered here at this time, to mark the witness of these two whom are to be husband and wife, in the witness of not only those here but to the Gods. Let all know that the payments have been paid". Ake looked at Klaus and said "Niklaus, if you truly desire to marry this women, I asked thee to give the blade that symbolises thy strength".

Klaus took the sword out from his waist and handed it to her and as he held the tip of the blade, he said "I swear to protect you and be always at your service". The blade was a symbol of protection and love and Caroline would have to carry it, until she could pass it onto their son. Caroline smiled as he let go of the blade.

Ake then looked at Caroline and said "Caroline, if you desire to marry this man, I asked thee to hand over the sword of protection".

Caroline looked behind her and her father handed over the sword with their family crest. This symbolised her family's protection over her, which would now be transferred to Klaus. As she held the sword in front of Klaus, she smiled and said "my family's protection is now yours". They swopped swords as they held them up and people around them began to smile even more and some laughed at the love struck features that grazed both of their faces.

Ake then said "now the rings". The two wedding rings were then placed at the top of the swords to symbolise the sacredness of the marriage. He said "Niklaus, do you swear to the Gods that you want to marry this woman?"

"I swear it as the Gods as my witnesses" people cheered.

Ake smiled and looked at Caroline "Caroline do you swear to the Gods that you want to marry this man?"

"I swear it as the Gods as my witnesses" again people cheered.

Their blades then crossed with each others and they both took the rings that were on top and placed them on the others ring finger. Caroline placing his ring on first and then Klaus putting hers on but his hand lingered when he touched her and it stayed there for a moment which made her smile. When his hand moved, Ake said "I do now pronounce you in front of these witnesses and the Gods that you are husband and wife". Everyone cheered and Klaus and Caroline brought the swords down and he brought her forward and kissed her like never before. A week without seeing each other showed and when they pulled away, they both smiled and rested their foreheads against each others.

A few hours later and a great fire were set in the centre of the village and people danced around it as they ate and drank. Klaus and Caroline managed to sneak off and even if people noticed, they would understand as many couples did it when it was their wedding. They got to their hut that Klaus, his brothers and Stefan had made when the marriage was announced as it was tradition. As the reached the door, he took her into his arms, bridal style, and she opened the door and he stepped across the entrance.

Klaus shut the door with his foot and then kissed her. They both fought for control as each one wanted control over the kiss but neither one wanted to give up. Her arms were wrapped tightly around his neck and she was pulling him down further and his arms were tightly holding her. He carried her to their bed and placed her gently down.

*Flashback*

Caroline pulled them both out of the vision to see Klaus smirking and she rolled her eyes at what he was thinking of but it soon disappeared when she quickly kissed him. His hand around her waist tightened and pulled her as close as possible and she gave him a teasing smile as she pulled away. He said "not wanting to remember the past?"

She gave him a pointed look and said "not at our daughters wedding". She then smiled and said "I love you, Nik".

He brought up one of his hands and caressed the side of her face and she leaned into the touch as he said "and I love you, my love".

THE END.
