A/N: Took me long enough didn't it. My "therapy" story is helping me get back into the game (called Trapped, it's a Disney fic and if you haven't read it, check it out if you'd like.) and now, at long last, here's the newest chapter to The Best Friend Contract :) I'll stop talking and let you read and I hope you like it. SO! Without further adieu **Drum roll** On with the story! :)

Disclaimer: You already know.

"So what do you think?"

"Uh..."

"Oh no. You don't like it." Austin's face fell as his hands slumped down the piano, sighing dramatically. The two were hanging out in Ally's music store (or her dad's music store, but she basically ran it) when Austin had excitedly told Ally how he'd finally written a song.

"No! No no it was fine it's just-,"

"It sucked."

"No, I'm sure people will love your song. Who doesn't like pancakes and taco trucks?"

Austin groaned, laying his head on Ally's shoulder.

"How can I make it better?" he asked, letting his fingers lazily dance over the piano keys.

"Well...," Ally looked over her shoulder. The store wasn't very busy today so she could consider this her break. "Here," she said, setting herself up to play.

She hit a few cords, going slow and thinking to herself.

"What do you love?"

"Pancakes," Austin replied. Ally smiled, shaking her head.

"Let's try something else."

"You, then," he said with a nonchalant shrug. Ally peaked over and noticed his awkward stance, picking at his fingernails as his face flushed.

"Me?"

"Yeah, I love you; you've been with me since we were little!"

That gave wiggle room to laugh and Ally nodded.

"Alright, let's see." She continued to play and she could feel Austin looking over her shoulder.

"Hmm..." Austin looked around and stood up. Ally peaked over her shoulder to see him pull down an acoustic guitar and before she could remind him about the rule of playing the instruments on display, he began strumming it.

"I like it," Ally said with a smile. Austin nodded absentmindedly, still picking out notes and smiled when it turned out the way he wanted.

The two stayed that way, with Ally quickly scribbling down notes and possible lyrics, and Austin contributing his own ideas.

By dinner time, they had the music part settled and half the lyrics.

Ally stretched, yawning and leaning back and her spine gave out with a satisfying pop.

"Jesus Christ," Austin yawned, "I'm starving."

"Yeah, we ran over lunch time," Ally pointed out, checking her phone. There were two messages from her dad. Ally gave him a quick I'm fine, gonna go eat in a bit, love you!

"Melody Diner?" Austin suggested.

"As long as you pay and I get the chicken pot pie." Ally smirked, standing up. Austin bowed, offering his hand.

"Milady," he said, making Ally giggle, rolling her eyes and taking his hand. She laced her fingers with his and they walk out into the crispy air.

"Frozen yogurt!"

"No way! Ice cream is a bazillion times better!" Austin countered.

"Frozen yogurt is just as tasty and it's healthier!" Ally sipped her lemonade. They chose a booth over in Melody Diner, awaiting the arrival of their feast.

"Do you know how many flavors of ice cream there are?!"

"There are tons of frozen yogurt flavors!"

"There's even a garlic flavored ice cream! Garlic!"

"Gross!"

Austin laughed just as a plate of fries and a jumbo burger was set in front of him.

"Aw yes!" he exclaimed, snatching a fry and tossing it at Ally, who caught it between her hands.

"Nice."

"Your pot pie is coming soon, sorry for the delay," a voice informed her.

"It's all ri-," Ally's smiled faltered for a second as Cassidy gave her an awkward smile

"Hi...,"

"Uh...,"

Austin pressed his lips together and cleared his throat.

"Hey, Cass," he said, trying to sound friendly. Cassidy returned the smile shyly and turned back to Ally.

"I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry, Ally." Cassidy tucked a stray hair behind her ear, embarrassment clearly written on her face. Ally gave her a smile and shook her head.

"There's no need,"

"No, no there is," Cass said and started to say more before a gruff voice cut through.

"Cassidy! Back to work!"

"Coming! Have a nice dinner you two." Cassidy ran back to the counter and Austin gave a surprised huff.

"Well."

"Yeah."

"Guess we don't have to worry about her." Austin smiled. Ally felt her heart give a small squeeze before relaxing as she popped the French fry in her mouth. All that drama is over.

Thank god.

"What I didn't know was what happened next." Ally gave a small growl, shoving her face in a pillow. Trish gave her a look.

"And that is?"

"I got a letter from New York."

Ally was curled up on the bed against Austin who held her from around the waist when her phone buzzed. He was staying over that night, her mom too. Ally lifted her head groggily, groaning at the lit screen. She carefully peeled Austin off of her, who in response gave a small groan of his own.

"Shhhh..." Ally lulled as she reach over and snatched her phone from her desk. It was Dez.

Ally! Check your mail box!

Ally looked at her alarm clock and gave another groan, flipping back down next to Austin who blindly returned his arms around her waist, pulling her closer. Ally smiled and kissed his nose before typing back.

Why, Dez, why?! It's three forty, we're trying to sleep!

It took no more than five seconds for him to reply.

Woman, don't question me! There's something you'll really wanna see!

Couldn't this wait till sunrise?

Nooooooooo! Nooooow!

Ally sighed, sitting back up and taking Austin's arms off. She crawled off the bed, slipped on her shoes and grabbed a sweater before jogging down the stairs and put the door. She walked over to the mail box outside her house and looked inside. A single package sat lonely in the old tin box with a sticky note that read: You are welcome! -Dez

With a shake of her head, Ally walked back inside. She went straight to the study and switched on the light, blinking back as the sudden brightness hit her. It took a bit for her eyes to adjust and once they did, she opened the package and pulled out the letter that came with many pamphlets and other colorful papers.

The letter was from the New York Music Academy. Ally gasped and quickly ripped the envelope open.

Congratulations Allison Marie Dawson! You have been invited to attend New York's elite private music academy. We accept your application and await your audition to place you in our school. The due date is May 25th. Good luck and best wishes!

~NYMA

It took everything in Ally's power not to scream. She gave a tiny squeal and jumped up and down, hugging the letter to her chest and pulled out her phone, dialing a number. Dez picked up on the first ring.

"You're welcome."

"Dez! How'd you know?!"

"I covered my friend's mail shift today and saw it. I was waiting for your call all day but clearly you don't check your mail everyday!"

"Ah! Thank you thank you thank you! I gotta go tell Austin!" Ally squealed again and jumped up and down.

"Wait, what?! No! Horrible idea!" Dez shouted.

"Why?! I tell him everything!"

"Ally, do you realize how bummed out Austin will be?"

"What do you-,"

"You got accepted to a school in New York, Ally."

"So?"

"Austin's going to take that as sign that you're leaving, which you are."

"Dez, he knows I can't stay here forever."

"Does he?" Ally paused.

"Yeah! Yeah... I'm so sure of it."

Dez sighed from the other end, and she could almost see the disapproving shake of his head.

"Alright, it's your choice, Ally," he said. Ally hesitantly hung up after bidding Dez goodnight and raced upstairs.

He wouldn't be disappointed... Would he?

"Austin! Austin!" She whispered frantically. Her boyfriend gave her a meek moan, curling up further on the bed. "Austin!" Ally whined again, shaking him.

"Ally! Trying to snooze...," He mumbled, "Couldn't it wait till sunrise?"

"I got accepted into my dream school!" Ally squealed. Austin shot up at that, eyes half shut and trying so hard to focus.

"What?"

Ally gave another excited squeal and threw her arms around Austin's neck. He returned her hug and squeezed

"That's... That's great, Al's," Austin sighed. Ally frowned, backing up.

"Why aren't you excited?" she questioned. Austin shook his head, hugging her and pulling her down back into bed.

"Nothing. I'm just real tired," he hummed, pulling the covers over both of them. "I'm so proud of you Ally cat." He kissed a trail from her temple down to her nose. "So so proud of you." He gave her a light peck on her lips, squeezing her.

"Austin-,"

"Congratulations, Ally." He looked down at her and Ally wished she could see his expression. Her hands came up and cupped his face. He turned and kissed her right palm, resting his forehead on hers.

"Kiss me...," Ally whispered. The chuckle rumbled and she could feel the mischievous smirk on his face.

"Oh?"

"Now?"

"So demanding." Austin slid his arms from around her shoulders to her waist, pulling her in.

She could feel her heart in her throat as he brought his lips to hers. His kiss was desperate, soft, and warm. Ally sighed, pressing her lips onto his and letting her hands slip into his hair. He let out a soft moan and stopped to lay as many butterfly kisses as he could all over her face.

"I love you...," he whispered. Ally tried to ignore the sadness leaking out of his tone and kissed him again.

"I love you more."

"I love you most," Austin said in his best Mother Gothel impression. Ally giggled, curling into Austin, hugging him. She kept count of his heart beat for the next five minutes before drifting off to sleep.

A/N: It's a shortie but I have more to come! I promise.

Now as you guys know, I've had this story on hold and discontinued Angel's Don't Fly (and that just depends, cause if I get the inspiration to write it again I will because now that I look at it, it was so close to being done. So... more to come of that,I'll let you guys know what I decide) but I'm keeping Angels don't fly up and considering republishing Dangerous Attraction to fix it up cause its riddled with grammatical errors and I'm still learning so I'll probably fix that, sorry to those who are grammar experts and cringing as they read my writing, but if you guys give me some constructive criticism, I'll fix those right up and I appreciate any help. My new story has helped me so much for this and I'm recovering from my very long writers block. I plan to continue while I'm on summer vacation :)

SO! anyway, I really hope you've enjoyed this latest chapter, It feels real good to write for Austin and Ally again, this couple still remains in my heart.

Please Follow Favorite and Review and I'll post again real soon! ^^

Hasta la vista my amazing readers! :)
