Chapter 20: The Secret

Previously:

"Nobody touches him." Anna commands.

"HE KILLED FLORA!" Helia screams.

"HE is under our protection and has done exactly what we have told him. Nobody touches him."

All of our blood froze. Why was she defending the person that killed Flora, why did she not care that the sweet girl is dead. What is going on?

Timmy's POV:

What is going on? Anna is protecting the guy that killed Flora. Killed him right in front of her and she didn't move an inch to save her, she doesn't even feel sad. She stands in front of Jake protecting him from us. What is going on?

Silence, filled the room. Everybody just stared at her dumbfounded, Helia was crying, along with the girls. The tears ran down their face but they were all in shock to do anything else.

A loud shriek broke the silence.

"WHAT?" Evelyn screamed loudly.

Anna grinned.

"Tch Tch, you thought Jake was on your side didn't you. Watch little girl." Anna said coldly.

She bent down to Flora and put her hand on her.

"Break" She whispered.

Like how the shield shattered, Flora shattered into dust. At least the Flora that had pool of blood running down her throat and was chained, disappeared. In her place a peacefully sleeping Flora was there. No bruise no wounds, just peacefully sleeping and alive.

"You know what Jake specializes in don't you sweetheart. Illusions." Alex stated with a smug grin.

"What? No. Jake would not do it, he would torture her, he would never put us under an illusion." Saji started.

"You would think that but, he has been working for us, this whole time. Why do you think none of the Winx and Specialists are dead? That they are all living and breathing with minimal amount of injuries." Anna laughed.

"What is going on?" Bloom asks absolutely stunned.

"Jake is an undercover spy for us. A double agent if you could say." Alex laughed.

"But… Flora… He… What?" Helia stuttered out.

"Flora is fine, and alive. Given what Evelyn said as right, it wasn't Jake that tortured her. It was another Slayer called Jeremy, but we used mind magic and Illusions on everyone who saw Jeremy do it, to make it seem like Jake did. He was the one that broke Flora out of prison and made it seem like we did it." Anna started. "It's true that Jake approached them to join them as a spy, but Flora got kidnapped soon after. We killed two birds with one stone by saving both Flora and getting a place for Jake within the Slayers."

"NOO." Evelyn shrieked. "You killed his father."

"No we didn't. His father is not dead." Anna stated.

"WHAT?" Saji yelled out.

"He is my brother." A sweet melodic voice stated.

We all looked up to see Flora. She was awake, and perfectly fine. Her eyes widened to see Helia's state and she started to freak out. Helia ran up to her and hugged her. She hugged him back and it was so sweet, I felt like we were invading their sense of privacy.

"Jake is Flora's older brother. His mother died and his father moved away, fell in love with Flora's mother and had three more sisters. Rose, Flora, and Miele. We took care of him and they did not know about Jake but he went looking for them, and found them. They grew very close to each other." Alex explained. "We had to act like what we had to, to keep his secret. We couldn't make it known that we were protecting him, and Flora was too damaged to tell her about what was going on, so we didn't say anything."

"What? Just….. We are really confused." Musa tried to say something else but she didn't say anything.

"Follow us." Anna walks off with Jake in tow.

Alex waits for all of us to follow holding Evelyn and Saji in each of his hands. So we did, we followed her. We withdrew our weapons and the girls were back in normal clothes.

We got onto the ship while Alex threw Evelyn and Saji at the back like trash. Helia still hadn't let go of Flora and she didn't want to let go of him either by the looks of it.

"I'll explain from the start." Anna started. "We have already told Flora everything that is going on and that has happened during her training. So she knows.

"Long ago Jake's mother died during an attack by slayers and that drove his dad to depression, He moved to Linphea where he met Flora's mother and they fell in live. He left Jake with us to train and grow but when he had three more daughters he didn't want them involved in our world. It's dangerous.

"Jake went looking for his sister's, and we were kids, so we helped. We found them and we got close, but we knew not to tell them the truth. So we didn't. They got close and they had lots of fun, but we made them give a blood promise to make sure no one else knew about us. This was why Flora couldn't tell you.

"When she turned thirteen, Jake signed up to be a spy because, a spy was who killed his mother. He went over to them to tell them he wanted to betray us and they gave him an assignment, to kill his best friend.

"He was going to take another spy to torture, someone who is used to it and could escape by themselves but they kidnapped Flora. When we came to know about it, we tried our best to save her, that's when my mother came up with the idea of Jake saving her and using his illusions to make it seem like he tortured her and we did the saving. Everything worked out except for the fact that Flora was well close to being destroyed.

"We blocked most of her memories and healed her, but she thought it was Jake behind the entire thing because of his magic and we couldn't change her mind. He didn't want us to. She was safe back home, like their father wanted.

"When the slayers came after you in Magix, Jake told us, he made sure they didn't attack and kill you guys there itself. He was the reason you had so much time for training.

"Man I need to breathe. Alex explain." Anna finished off while she went and sat on one of the seats with Jake.

"Well as she said, it was thanks to him that you had this time to train, so we trained you exactly according to their weaknesses so you would beat them easily, and it was Jake that got us their weaknesses.

"We didn't want to keep it a secret from Flora so we told her everything, his plans, our plans, and she agreed to keep quite till it was done."

"I was so happy to know he was not the one who tortured me, but as the one who saved me. I am ecstatic to know that he is my brother." Flora gushed and buried her head in Helia's chest. "And I'm so happy you guys can know about this now. I'm so sorry I couldn't tell you guys any of this before."

All the girls walked up to her and gave her a hug. Even though Helia never let go of her.

"We understand Flora." Bloom started.

"We are just so happy you are okay now." Layla continued.

"I know I was pissed off, but even I would have done the same." Stella said.

"At least now we can talk about it together." Musa spoke up.

"And you don't have to hide it anymore." Tecna told her giving her a hug.

It was so nice to see them together again, to understand what happened, to understand why it happened.

"As I was saying." Alex cleared his throat and continued. "once we finished your training and brought you here, the fact that Flora got kidnapped was not something we anticipated. But Jake had us covered. He kept Flora safe and used his mind illusions to make it seem like the other slayers where torturing her."

Sky looked at Jake and I knew he didn't fully trust him, but still it seemed like that man had done a lot for us, people he didn't know.

"Thanks man." Sky whispered shaking his hand.

Jake just smiled at him.

"NO NO NO." Evelyn shrieked. "Jake is one of us, Jake is a Slayer, he is my husband. He would never work with you."

"Why did you marry this psycho?" Riven asks crude as ever.

The girls hadn't left Flora's side but I could see Musa glaring at him, she would have hit him across the head if she stood next to him.

I couldn't help but smile, everything was finally getting back to normal.

"He married her to keep up appearances. Again our idea, he went with it. He did everything as we told him too." Alex replied in his place.

"Wow that is dedication." Brandon whispered.

"Why would he go to such lengths?" Nabu asks. "I mean I get spies, I've met a few before, but I have never seen one who was a spy for more than 2 years, you have been there for what 8 years?"

"I did it for my family." He says looking at Flora with love in his eyes.

The cold hard look he had before was completely gone.

"And I do it for love." He whispered looking down to his shoulder.

Anna had peacefully gone to sleep with her head resting on his shoulder. Another private moment it felt like I was intruding. He looked at her with kindness and love in his eyes. He tenderly held her hand in his.

"WHAT?" Evelyn shrieked again.

"Another reason why Jake stayed for so long is because we needed information. Since Anna was becoming the king of kings, they would attack her, and there will be a lot of slayers trying to take over. Jake went in to get the information to stop such attacks, to protect her position as the queen." Alex whispered.

I suddenly felt a new found respect for Jake. He might have been our enemy but hearing his story, and what all he did, and why he did it. It was hard not to like the guy. I could see the look of respect on everyone else's face as well.

"We would love to stay with you and talk, but we need to head back home and you need to take care of your schools." Alex continued. "We will drop you of at Magix and head out."

We rode on the ship for a few more minutes, the guys talking to Jake, even I went and joined the conversation, and so did Helia. The girls sat down with Flora and she was finally opening up. They laughed and joked around all wounds and fights forgotten.

Jake actually turns out to be a sweet and gentle guy, and once we started talking to him, I could see the similarities between him and Flora. They looked nothing alike but their personalities were similar. Given he was able to handle being a spy and she never would have.

"We are near Magix, you guys can get down and walk, we don't really want to come any closer." Alex explains and opens the doors.

I could see the woods beyond the doors and smell the scent of the leaves. I really wanted to leave and see my teachers and build our school back, but we had finally started to get along with each other normally. There was no tension, no secrets. It was great. Helia and Flora stood near the door and giggled while Alex walked up to each of us to say goodbye.

Tecna came over to me and we interlaced our fingers.

"I'm so glad everything worked out." She whispers.

"Me too." I smile back.

Alex walks up to us.

"I know Anna would have wanted to be awake to say good bye to you, but she is finally resting." Alex smiled at both of us. "The two of you are really smart and we are so happy we taught you what we did. Don't ever stop your analysis and questioning, and let what you have learned help you." He finishes off and walks over to Layla and Nabu.

About fifteen minutes later he has said goodbye to everyone, even threatened Helia a little if Flora ever cries but promised to meet him again. The suitcases were already waiting outside the door for us. Anna had not moved and inch and Jake hadn't either.

Flora dragged Helia over to them and they spoke to Jake for some time. Nobody but Riven eavesdropped trying to give them their privacy. Helia smiled and looked absolutely happy after a very long time. They spoke and smiled and all in all everything seemed normal.

Like we just didn't have a dangerous fight that almost killed us all.

We all stepped out of the ship, all of us holding onto each other, smiling, and having said our goodbyes. The navy blue ship flew up without having closed the door and we could see Anna standing at the doorway.

"Bye you smartasses. It was fun hanging out with you guys. I'll come back again to meet you guys." Anna yells out while the ship flew off.

"We are back home." Bloom said with absolute joy in her voice.

We all turned and headed towards Magix, ready to start again. Ready to build our schools, ready to get back to our lives again. Happiness was bubbling up inside me and I did nothing to stop it. My smile grew widely on my face.
