Brett saw his mother breaking the glass. He shook his head and thought how naive his mother was. How naive they all had been. Only Kal knew it from the beginning, that´s why he was so jealous…

"I still don´t know why they are hiding from her?" Vanessa asked directly, standing behind Brett and watching the scene.

On the other side of the dance floor Winston took Dianne by her hand and guided her to the corridor.

"Winston! Why did no one tell me?"

"You knew it the whole time, didn´t you? You just don´t want to realize that Jason and Neri are growing up." Winston put his hand on her shoulder.

"But why? Why they didn´t tell me?" Dianne asked with a hurt voice.

"Just give them some time. They will tell you. You know, Neri and Jason they love you so much that they are afraid of your reaction. I mean it is kinda weird that the both are in love, because Neri is like a daughter for you."

"But…"

"Be happy for them. They just started to explore their feelings for each other. And when they think the moment is right they will tell you. By the way I know a really good quote: There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment."

Diane smiled. "Everything that matters is that they are happy." He gave Dianne a wink.

Back at the party…

Suddenly someone tapped Jason on the shoulder and he awaked from his dream realizing that he is kissing Neri in front of the crowd.

"Mum saw you. She was really shocked and she broke her glass. Winston guided her to the corridor." Brett sniffed.

"Mother is angry?" Neri´s face got pale and she had tears in her eyes.

"No. She is just surprised. Jace you should take Neri outside for a swim. She is pale like a ghost." Vanessa added scared.

Neri, Jason and Vanessa took the elevator to the Pontoon.

"I will take a swim. I will feel better."

"But it´s too dark outside and the waves are too big." Jason protested.

"Neri is a good swimmer… You just worry too much" Vanessa said.

As they reached the Pontoon. Jason gave Neri a kiss on the forehead and told her to be careful. She nodded and jumped into the water still wearing Vanessa´s dress. Vanessa and Jason sat down on a bench to wait for Neri.

"So why is it so hard to tell your mother? You are making a big deal about nothing." Vanessa broke the silence.

"I don´t know. We are just afraid because of her reaction."

"Hmm… So what are you going to do?"

"Tell her tomorrow." Jason smiled. "So what is it about you and Mic. You never told why you broke up?"

"Jace I don´t know. He never told me. It just happened from one day to another. He never gave me an explanation."

"You know it´ so weird that after you broke up her never called or texted me back."

Suddenly the doors from the elevator opened and a guy stepped outside to lit a cigarette.

"Hey sorry, but smoking is not allowed here." Vanessa shouted. The guy with a cigarette approached Vanessa and Jason and they could recognize Mic.

"Oh what is this? Two lovebirds on a bench." Mic said jealousy.

"Mic?" Jason mumbled.

"You told me that you will be my friend. But you betrayed me. Why? How could you do that?" Mic shouted aggressively.

"Are you drunk?" Vanessa stood up to reach Mic.

"Don´t touch me ever. You betrayed me too."

"What are you talking about?"

"Don´t pretend to be innocent. You are in love with him. And he is just using you, because he knows that he could have every girl he wants!"

"What´s wrong with you?" Jason stood up to allay Mic.

"What´s wrong with you Jason? How could you get this awful person?"

"I don´t understand?" Jason furrowed his eye brows.

"From one day the nicest guy on ORCA to the most arrogant."

Neri climbed up the ladder. She screamed happily: "Mic…" ran towards him and hugged him. For a moment Neri could allay Mic.

"Is it possible? Neri. You look great."

"Thank you. I missed you. I heard someone screaming? What happened?" She went to Jason to grab his hand.

"Just tell her the truth Jason! Today Neri, tomorrow Vanessa."

"I don´t know what are you talking about?"

"Okay then I will tell you. Neri! Vanessa and Jason betrayed me."

Neri looked puzzled.

"I will tell you. Vanessa felt in love with Jason when she came to ORCA, that´s why she hated you Neri so much. She knew that Jason lay an eye on Neri. After she realized that Jason will never be in love with her, but just with you Neri. She tried to flirt with me and I was so stupid to fall in love with her. I was just a consolation. After we left ORCA we stayed in contact with Jason. He promised me to be a good friend, we have talked through the phone a lot and we wanted to visit each other. I saw that Vanessa was always writing with Jason. When I confronted her, she denied."

Neri shook her head: "No. It is wrong Jace, isn´t it?"

"Hey. Enough. I don´t know what you are talking about. We wrote a couple of mails. Why not, I mean Vanessa was one of our best friends when she left ORCA. And you knew it? Why so jealous then?"

"Why didn´t you show me the Mails then?"

"Didn´t you have talked about it Vanessa? Why?"

Vanessa kept silent for a while. The group was waiting for an answer.

"It was about your mother Mic. She told me that I am not good enough for you. She always criticized me…!" Vanessa swallowed before she went on. "After a while I really had the impression that I am bad for you. When someone is digging the whole time… Everything what you have done she told me that´s my fault. That you are studying marine biology, that you always have a cold, that you gained some weight …" Vanessa had tears in her eyes. "Mic don´t tell me that you broke up with me because of a couple of mails…!"

Mic couldn´t believe what he heard. Was it his stupid jealousy which did him let threw away his relationship and how could he be so blind.

"Ok. Let´s clear it up. Why you never talked to me about it?"

"You never listened… I was trying…"

Jason pulled Neri´s hand. He gave her a sign to let them alone.

"I think we should go… It is the matter between you two guys!" Jason said. Vanessa and Mic just nodded.

At the elevator Neri said:" We should go to island."

Jason added: " Yeah, but we should go fast. It will start raining soon. I just have to grab some stuff."

As Jason and Neri came back to the Pontoon, they saw Vanessa and Mic hugging each other. Neri squeezed Jason´s hand. Neri jumped into the water and Jason wanted to prepare his boat. Mic went to Jason to apologize for his bad behavior.

"Jace, I am so sorry…"

Jason turned around and waved his hand: "Don´t worry Mic. It is all fine. I was still happy to see you."

Mic: "I am just here for the night and have get back tomorrow to mainland. I thought we could catch up at the party, but you are going to Neri´s island."

"We will catch up soon. We are going to visit you and some old ORCA friends in Brissie in two weeks."

"Yeah. Vanessa told me. Ok then see you soon! You should hurry, it is going to rain." They shake hands before Jason made his way to the island.

They reached the island at the same time. It was raining heavily, but Neri still had a smile on her face. She took a deep breath and took Jason by his hand. They went to the wooden house to get dry and Jason started a fire. His body was shivering and he got goose bumps, because his clothes were all wet.

"Are you not cold?" Jason ´s teeth shook.

"No. I am never cold. You should dry your clothes, because you will get ill." Neri said worried.

He pulled of his shirt to put it near the fire. Neri gave him a towel to dry his hair and skin. Neri laughed as she was looking at Jason.

"What's wrong?" He asked baffled.

"Nothing just happy, that you are here. I am not gonna spend the night alone here on island." She waited before she went on and her face changed sudden to a sad face. "When you always went for holiday to mainland with Brett and mother I often felt very lonely."

Jason took her hands and looked confused: "You just pretended that it doesn´t matter that you were alone...!" He seemed to be angry, because Neri was lying to him. But he put on a smile and cuddled her face. „Doesn´t matter anymore. I will never go without you somewhere and I could spend the nights more often on the island or you just come over to ORCA." Neri just nodded for an answer.

They sat down at the fire and Jason put his arm around Neri. They were talking about the upcoming vacations and how awkward it would be for them as a couple on the family holiday. Neri was a bit nervous, but Jason calmed her down.

"I never asked you officially. But anyway... hmm... I mean it´s obvious isn´t it? So… You want to be my girlfriend?"

Neri was staring at Jason for some seconds' while Jason got nervous. She laughed: „Is the question necessary? Sure I want to be your girlfriend. "

"That was just for the record!" Jason laughed while scratching his head.

They were chitchatting for a quiet long time before they went to sleep. It was the first time that they shared a bed together.
