Chapter seven

Truths come to light

So I got many good reviews so I was very happy about that but I also got some reviews regarding the characters behaviors being, well, out of character in the previous chapter seven. So being the awesome person I am ;p I thought about what you all said and came to the same conclusion you all did, Draco became way to trusting way way WAY to fast. So this is the new chapter seven, I hope you like it.

Ps. the last chapter seven will be converted into a different chapter since I liked it and Yes even the bad scene at the table :p

The next couple days were tense to say the least neither Draco nor Melody spoke without being spoken to and Draco would leave the room whenever Potter came in. Hermione was almost certain that if Draco would start talking then so would Melody, it seemed she was in the copycat faze. But never the less whenever the frizzy haired girl would try and converse with the Melody, the younger would look over at Draco and keep quite. Frankly this was getting on her nerves and so she made a point at dinner the third night of this ignoring thing to sit right next to Draco and talk tell her throat was sore.

"I read all the books Harry gave me and it seemed this demon is one of the most powerful known to wizards and muggles alike."

"Aaand the ritual required to summon him is very complex with a lot of blood and animal intestines involved."

"OK CUT THE CRAP MALFOY! IF YOU WANT ARE HELP YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO TALK TO US!" collecting herself best she could she inclined her head so her mouth was right up against Malfoy's ear so only he could hear her, "and if you don't knock it off I'm going to hex you every time I see you. Melody is copying your mannerisms and if you haven't noticed she has drawn in on herself. She hasn't talked to me and I she hasn't talked to you either has she?"

Smiling in triumph when Malfoy looked at her with a scandalized look before peering over at the small girl curled on her chair, her food untouched except for the potatoes she had mutilated with her fork.

With one last look at the smug Gryffindor Draco looked up to see a pair of green eyes staring back and he knew she was right, know-it-all Gryffindors. With an inward grimace he turned and spoke, "Melody I need you to wait in the room, I don't think you'll want to stay and listen to this conversation," with a small shack of her head the small girl got up off her chair and left. Turning back to everyone else Draco continued, "I haven't found much either only that my previous guesses where right; that they need the body of a powerful wizard and they need a child sacrifice."

For the next hour or so the three talked of what they'd found out. Surprisingly Ron Weasley was the one that found the most useful information out of all of them, not only shocking everyone but also himself.

When Hermione pocked at him insistently Weasley finally relented, "well I remember this children's book that I found in Mom's old stuff, you know the stuff she had before she met dad and was disowned by her pureblooded parents, and well anyway I remember having nightmares after reading it and mom forbidding me to ever read it again. It had something to do with a man who wanted a girl that refused all of his advances so he summoned this really nasty demon from hell to go and kill ever other suitor she had so she had no choice but to marry him. I thought maybe it could help since most "children's" books pureblooded families let their kids read had some truth to them. I went to the library and what do you know that same book was there in-between these two giant tombs about Arithmancy or something. Wait right here and I'll go get it." Scooting out his chair Ron quickly ran to his room to grab the thin paper book off his bad side table. In no time he was back in his chair with three eyes on him as he opened the book to the page that talked about the ritual itself. "It says here you need a muggle girl between five and seven born to the Virgo sign. It doesn't say why this is but it does say the wizard that is to be the demon's "cage" needs to have the same birth month and sign as the child sacrifice or be a Gemini since the totem for this sign means the twin. I'm not sure why only the Gemini will suffice if they can't find another Virgo with enough power but that's what it says." Looking at Draco the red head seemed in a daze before he spoke, "there is no way you can be a Virgo so I'm guessing You're a Gemini, am I right?" When Draco nodded once Ron returned to staring at the book. "the reason this book gave me nightmares wasn't really because of the ritual and demon but what the two sacrificed have to go through. The child has to slowly bleed out as the summoning is taking place and before the demon can take over the body of the wizard it must consume the child just as her heart gives its last beat. It's quite gruesome if you ask me and to a six year old it's the worst thing to hear especially when it doesn't specify gender like we previously thought. I mean it does say a girl is a more desirable candidate but a feminine boy will do to."

His heart pounding in his ears and his stomach about to bottom out Draco did the only thing he could think of to lighten the mood if not for them for himself before he passed out. "When have you ever been feminine Weasley?"

Taking the jest for what it was Ron just smiled slightly before Hermione spoke up, "actually he was quite a feminine boy when he was smaller. His mom showed me and Harry his baby pictures and I thought a few of them were of a girl." Turning red from embarrassment Ron nudged a snickering Harry as he nodded confirmation.

"Well when this whole mess is over with I will be asking about those pictures, and don't think anyone will come between me and getting to them." Smirking at the tomato faced red head Draco got up declaring since, for once, Weasley was able to beat him at fact gathering or at least information that could or couldn't be true he would do the dishes. BUT only this once.

After sitting in his room with Melody safely tucked in his bed Draco waited for her to fall asleep before slipping out to do the dishes he said he'd do.

Waving his wand he charmed the dishes on the table to move to the sink where the facet was already turned on and was filling the basin with bubble hot water. Muttering to himself about house hold charms and how they were a pain in the arse to use he didn't hear Harry come in and only noticed when the taller boy sat next to him and started drying the newly cleaned plates.

"Are you going to tell me why you've been avoiding me or should I just guess?" when no answer was forth coming he kept going, "is it because I'm just so gorgeous that you're afraid you might jump me in front of everybody?" when that only earned him a glare Harry smiled slightly before asking seriously, "it's because of the kiss isn't it?" looking over at the blonde who was steadfastly looking away he hunched in his chair and waited hoping maybe the smaller male would decide answering was better than the tense silence they now sat in.

Scrunching his shoulders together Draco mumbled something under his breath and when Harry ask him what he had said he spoke just loud enough for the other to hear, "yes it was bloody kiss. Why would you do that? I mean if you want to gain my trust that is not the way to go." Murmuring out the last part Draco finished the last dish before looking down at his wand as if it was the most interesting thing on the planet.

Sighing Harry wrapped one of his hands around a slender wrist and pulled it over onto his lap before speaking, "I'm not sure why I did it ok, it just ever since we found you you've been a puzzle I couldn't figure out and I like that. Usually the people around me just go along with everything I say and not think twice if I get mad at them. You though, well you've never just followed me like a lost or love sick puppy and the only other two that do that is Mione and Ron." Now looking at the blondes head he wove his tan fingers with pale ones, " don't get me wrong after the first year or so others started acting more normal around me but you three are the only ones that have never not acted normal around me and I will forever be grateful." Squeezing Draco's fingers he smiled slightly and continued, "You acted like a prat all the time but when I see you with Melody and now with Hermione I can't help but like you more and more. You treat Hermione like an equal and Melody like a younger sister, that's the side I want to know more about, will you let me get to know that Draco?"

Looking up at the earnest face Draco couldn't help smile, "well I guess it wouldn't hurt to get to know you either and I guess that includes Weasley to, but I don't want you rubbing you Gryffindor stupidity on me or Melody because I'm almost positive if she had magic she would be put in RavenClaw."

Harry's lips stretched into a rather handsome smile as he leaned over and kissed Draco's cheek softly. Pulling back he then stood up and made his way out of the kitchen, that alarmingly wide smile still plastered on his face.

Not long after he left Draco was startled out of his daze when a small hand touched his cheek. Looking up he say Melody looking at him with a hopeful look in her eyes, "does this mean we can talk to them again?"

Tamping down the guilt for making her go mute Draco leaned over to pick her up as he stood, "You never had to stop but yes this means we can talk ourselves blue to them." Holding the small girl as she laid her head on his shoulder he passed the sitting room where Harry was playing a game of chess with Ron, obviously losing miserably at that, Hermione sat in an armchair not far from them. Look up she smiled at him and he smiled back before going to his room where he laid the sleeping girl on one side of his bed and climbed in the other and promptly feel asleep.

SOOOOOOO how do you like the new Chapter seven? I was sitting in the bath and it just came to me and I was like "I got to get out and type this before I forget" so you better be happy with it because I gave up my nice hot bath to write it.

The birth signs I put in here are the Gemini which is "the twin" and Virgo which is "the virgin" just so you know. And no they are not really compatible but hey in this story they are so :p if you have any other questions regarding this chapter just review and I'll get back to you.
