A.N. So. I'm getting back into business? I'm not sure myself, I hope I am. I never planned on writing something more for Beat, but I knew that if I wanted to move on with writing I needed to write a sequel/continuation for some story. And idea for this one just popped in my head… ^-^ Enjoy and if you can - review, it will make me feel important…
Longing
Luffy was terrified of himself. He usually didn't act like this.
When he would find someone undressing him with eyes he would usually get disgusted or crept out. But not with this guy. When Luffy finally noticed the guy who was sending him quite heated stares (and it took a while for Luffy to notice that because as Nami said 'he was too naïve in that department') he didn't find any of the previously mentioned emotions in himself.
Maybe it was because 'tall and handsome' was staring at him with such longing. As he was looking at something he had no chance of ever having. That actually made Luffy wonder, what that mysterious guy had seen in him to have such expression.
Sure, many people have said that he's cute - too many for Luffy's liking – so he understood why many people liked staring at him. But the expression that stranger wore… It was like Luffy was everything that man every wished for.
Luffy wanted to approach that man and see if there was a reason for such longing. Was it Luffy that he wanted? Or was it something Luffy stood for in that stranger's head?
Luffy didn't know.
But he was damn sure he was going to try and find out, after all, his friends always called him reckless.
So without saying a word to anyone Luffy slipped out of the dance floor and without much thinking walked to the stranger at bar with those nice tattoos on his hands. Before his sudden boost of confidence melted Luffy patted his admirer's shoulder.
The man turned at him and his eyes widened slightly, without much thinking Luffy blurted out the first thing on his tongue. "Will you buy me a drink?"
The tattooed strange stared at Luffy for a moment and Luffy could see the inner battle the stranger was having. His expression hardened a little bit as he asked with this cold tone that made Luffy freeze. "Why should I?"
Luffy felt a little disappointed. So it wasn't him that this stranger was longing for, but Luffy wasn't going to give up just because this stranger was careful. Now that Luffy thought about it – a little, mind you – all types of creeps hanged around clubs, the stranger was only being cautious. "I wanted to join you on your drink, you looked kind of lonely sitting here…"
Luffy felt faint blush enter his cheeks as the stranger smiled a little. A tattooed hand pated the stool next to the stranger's. "Come, I would like some company. I'm Trafalgar Law and you…?"
Relief washed through Luffy's body this stranger – Law – wasn't going to push him away, before he got his answers. "Monkey D Luffy, nice to meet you!"
Next hour, or so, Luffy spent getting to know Law. He kind of got a gust of why Law had such a longing look on his face. He saw Luffy as someone he would never have. Luffy felt obligated to show this guy differently.
Because Law wasn't like those other staring creeps. Those people thought that they deserved him, that Luffy should be happy to receive their attention even if the brown eyed male couldn't care less. But Law seemed different, Law seemed like someone who treated his partner as an equal.
As Law and Luffy parted ways after exchanging phone numbers Luffy wondered what would havehappened if Law wasn't the first guy who would had offered him equality. Would Luffy considered that person as potential partner as he did with Law?
Luffy wasn't sure he wanted to know that answer, Law seemed like a nice guy so far and Luffy was content with that. There was no use wondering about what could have been. There was absolutely no point in that…
