"It's been a long rough road and I'm finally here. I move an inch forward, it feels like a year..."

At long last, we have finally arrived at our final destination. This is the, and I stress THE, last chapter of this little adventure of mine. Wow, I still can't believe how this story easily beat the prequel "Brothers' Fight" (both Sonic and Tails' sides) in terms of views. Well, all can say is that I'm glad this little idea of mine turns out to be a success, moderate, but still a sweet success.

I would like to say thank you very, very much to everyone who spared some time to read my stories. Your support means a lot to me. Well, sadly, I will have to take a short break from the whole writing thing to pay attention to my schoolwork, but I'm sure I can get back to it some time in the near future.

Once again, thank you everyone for your time and patience,
As well as your valuable comments and appreciation.
Good luck to all in your various endeavors in life,
Let us rejoice and celebrate the good time that we have
And enjoy this world with our heart-filled delight.

To my most wonderful and amazing of friends,
Until the day we can finally meet each other again. ;)

Until we meet again

Immediately after leaving Blaze and the others alone in his room, Grand Adviser Zagan made his way for the treasury chamber where the set of newly-revived Sol Emeralds were kept. After making sure that no-one was following him, the owl locked the door and slowly approached the glowing mystical gems before him.

After a sharp breath, the ancient owl closed his eyes and entered a meditative trance, which allowed his consciousness to enter the astral plane. Then he opened them once again and looked at the lone being who was sharing the place with him.

"Good morning, young master," the owl said, his voice sincere and respectful.

"Well, what a pleasant surprise, Zagan!" replied the suave and soft voice of the fallen god Arzazel as he slowly turned his back around and cast a look at his newly-arrived guest, "Or would you rather I addressed you by your given name, Wisdom?"

"I am greatly honored that you still remember the humble name of a humble servant," Zagan said again with a hearty chuckle.

"How can I ever forget the pesky brat that used to hang around Sol's…my sister's shoulder the entire time when she was alive?" the fallen angel replied with a huff.

"It's ages since you last referred to the late mistress as your sister, young master."

"First of all, do not, under any circumstances, refer to me as 'young master', I honestly do not deserve such a title, nor do I ever like it. I am much older than you. Secondly, I believe you already know the reason why I suddenly decide to address Sol as such."

"Of course," Zagan said with an amused chuckle, "You and your big sister may have had differences in opinions in the distant past, but you truly loved her nonetheless, and I know for a fact that she too loved you with all her heart. That's why you did not want everybody to know that the two of you were indeed related when you went berserk, just for her sake."

"Annoying brat," Arzazel said in exasperation, "Don't think so highly of me. I simply did not see her as my bloodline after that fateful battle so many millennia ago."

"Whatever you say, 'young master'," said the bird with an amused grin on his face as he slowly caressed his beard. The tone of the owl's voice alone seemed to get on Arzazel's nerves, for the god quickly turned away and avoided eye contact with his counterpart for a brief while.

For the next few minutes, a veil of unnerving silence took reign as the two beings stood still in the astral plane, unmoving, unreadable. At last, Arzazel turned around and met the owl's gaze once again.

"How is her highness doing?" he asked with genuine concern in his voice.

"She is doing much better already," assured Zagan, "her wounds are healing at a steady pace without any lasting complication. Although the injury on her shoulder still causes her minor troubles from time to time, she will fully recover after a few months."

"That is indeed good to hear. So, I see that you have already given her the scroll of the first guardian and let her learn of the creations of the gods."

"Sharp as ever, young ma…" Zagan began, only to get cut off by the fallen angel before him.

"Call me that again and I'll personally kick you out of this astral plane, brat. My powers may be limited within my confine, but not entirely lost," the fallen angel said with a frown, "Refer to me by my name."

"If that is what you wish,…Arzazel."

"Much better indeed. Now then, about the scroll,…"

"I assure you there is no need for you to worry about her highness finding out about your secret relationship with mistress Sol" the bird cut Arzazel off and showed him a torn page taken from the scroll he had given Blaze a while ago.

"If memory serves me right, the penalty for intentional destruction of ancient document is somewhere along the line of decapitation, is it not?" Arzazel said, moving a hand across his neck to emphasize his point.

"Oh, there is no need to worry about either," the owl grinned mischievously, "What her highness doesn't know doesn't kill her."

"Cheeky brat," commented the deity with a small grin of his own.

After that, another period of silence took place. Neither the god nor the bird spoke for a while until Zagan decided to break the veil of silence.

"So, young…Arzazel," he began, "what do you think about her highness?"

The mystic of twilight, having expected that question to pop up at any given time, slowly closed his eyes and gathered his thoughts.

"She is one of a kind, that is for sure" the god said after a while, "A strong spirit gifted with the flames of hope and passion. The looks in her eyes when she gave me her word was decisive, without a single trace of uncertainty or doubt. The promise she made was no doubt great, but I have a feeling that if it's her, she may…can make it a reality."

"Yes, I am glad that you think so highly of her," Zagan stated as he stroked his beard again, his smile getting wider as time passed.

"However, she is not without flaws," Arzazel continued, this time looking at the owl directly in the eye, "Make sure that you keep guiding her on the right path, for if she ever strays from her promise, even half a step, we will surely rise once more, and next time, we won't be so lenient."

At that moment, the other sealed gods appeared behind their leader. They all looked at the lone bird with the same eyes that Arzazel was currently giving him. The angel of twilight was not making a empty threat; he was dead serious. It took a while, but Zagan finally managed to calm down and replied.

"That I promise you. I am certain that the next time you wake up from your slumber, we will welcome you into our humble dwellings as honorary guests."

"Provided you live that long, boy" Arzazel said plainly with a smug smirk, which Zagan instantly returned with a smile of his own. "Now if you'll excuse us, get out of this place. I'm tired, and so are my comrades."

"Still as rude as ever, I see."

Without another word, Zagan was forcibly and quite violently ejected out of the astral plane by the twilight mystic, much to his irritation. Returning to reality once again, the old bird temporarily lost his balance and looked at the Emeralds briefly before heading back to his room.

'I suppose her highness has finished her history lesson by now' he thought.

True to his guess, when he peeked inside his own chamber, he saw Blaze, surrounded by her friends, was looking at the town though the window with a determined look on her face. Her smile was warm, sincere, and the flames of passion were burning brightly in her bright amber eyes.

'I promise, Arzazel,' Zagan thought fondly before closing the door and leaving the occupants alone for the time being, 'I will continue to watch over that child. While she is still young and lacking in experience, she is no doubt the fated leader that will lead this world into a new era of peace and prosperity. That child indeed carries on Sol's legacy, hoohoohoo.'

With that in mind, the old bird turned around and quickly walked away, humming an ancient song to himself that sounded through the corridors of the grand palace.

Time passed, and soon lunch came. It was utter mayhem inside the castle with Sonic and Knuckles constantly fighting over petty grievances, wand Tails trying his very best to separate the two heated rivals before the fight escalated out of hand.

The hedgehog and the echidna were having a friendly bet about who could eat more chilidogs within a certain time limit, and a showdown quickly took place after some provocations from Sonic. The result was a draw, which made the sole contestants dissatisfied and caused them to challenge the referee's, aka Tails, judgment.

Throughout the numerous exchanges of banters, insults and hollow threats, Tails tried desperately to break the two apart to no avail. Shadow and Metal Sonic naturally didn't pay the two 'idiots' any attention and minded their own business, while Espio was meditating in an attempt to block the constant noise out of his system. Unfortunately, he was fighting a losing battle.

'And I thought Vector and Charmy were unbearably loud,' he thought in irritation, but somewhat fondly.

Blaze, however, watched the friendly and casual scene before her eyes with great interest. Nobody, save for Marine, had ever acted so casually in her presence before, so seeing Sonic and Knuckles' constant bickering really put a smile on her face.

The group of friends spent the rest of the day together, laughing, bickering, joking, and even wrestling each other until the sun went down. Many times, Blaze had to take refuge from the flying pillows inside her own house, not that she really minded such a war. Somehow, a pillow fight had ensued, and everyone in the castle immediately took part, resulting in uncontrollable chaos inside the royal palace. All the time, sounds of joyful laughter rang and echoed inside the grand castle.

Before anyone noticed, the party was over, it was finally time for the alien heroes to bid farewell to the Sol Dimension and return to their own world.

Inside the royal garden, the beautiful color of sunset dyed the entire sky in a shade of beautiful crimson. It was mesmerizing, yet sad for the ones gathering inside the place.

"So, I guess this is goodbye for the time being, huh?" Sonic said with a cheerful smile as he looked at the princess.

"Yes, it is such a shame," she replied with slight sadness in her eyes, "I do wish you could stay here a while longer. There are so many things in this world I would love to show you. Marine wished to see you off as well, but unfortunately, she has a job to do."

"Trust me, Blaze, if we could, we would. But you know how we have a lousy madman back home that won't ever give it a rest. If he doesn't get his butt kicked at least twice a day, he may go more loco than hot chocolate coco."

"Yeah," Tails chimed in, "And since you have your work cut out or you already, we'd hate to cause any unnecessary troubles like the incidents at lunch," the fox then shot a glare at both Sonic and Knuckles, both of whom were acting really innocent with their whistling and looking around aimlessly.

"Alright, take care of yourselves then. Let us meet again in the near future," Blaze said happily as she held out her hand, which Sonic took almost immediately.

"Yeah, I can't wait," the hedgehog cheerfully replied with his trademark grin plastered on his face.

After that, Sonic and Shadow, taking out their set of Chaos Emeralds, began to channel the power of the gems and trigger a powerful Chaos Control, which instantly transported everyone save for Blaze back to Earth.

The lone princess now stood alone in the royal garden and watched silently as the light of the mystic Chaos gems shine brightly before finally fading away.

After her friends had left, the cat stoically looked toward the darkened sky and smiled. In her head, the thought of seeing her wonderful allies again in the future continued to make its present known.

"Until we meet again…" Blaze said under her breath as she directed her silent gaze toward the still blue sky above; a genuine smile formed on her face a moment later and she closed her eyes, feeling the cool and relaxing breeze brush against her every feature.

After a while, a beeping noise sounded, prompting the lone feline to snap back to reality and reach into her pocket. She pulled out a small, brown communication device and pressed a button.

"Yes, Marine?" she asked the raccoon on the other side of the line.

"Hiya there, Blaze, did the guys leave yet?"

"They just left," the cat replied.

"Ah bummer! Really should have called sooner."

"Don't worry, Marine. I already told them you sent your regards," Blaze said, earning a happy squeal from the raccoon on the other side. "Anyway, Marine, is there any other reason for this call?"

"Actually, yeah. Just wanna tell ya the reconstruction of Southern Island is proceeding swimmingly. At this rate, me and my boys may even beat the schedule."

"That is indeed good to hear, Marine, please keep up the good work."

"Okie-dokey. Oh, and Blaze..."

"Yes?"

"Ya look really pretty with that smile on yer face. Strewth, try smiling more" the raccoon said cheerfully before cutting off the connection.

The lavender feline then put the communicator away, her smile growing brighter and wider than ever at that comment. She chuckled to herself before looking at the tranquil scenery at dusk before her once more.

"Alright then, let's get started on the reconstruction of the cities and villages. The quicker it is done, the better," Blaze said after awhile and walked toward her chamber, ready to carry out her duties as the ruler of Sol Dimension. She might not know when she would be able to fulfill her promise with Arzazel, but she definitely knew where to start - the task of mending the casualties of war.

The trip for the heroes was an extremely short one, for all of them arrived back on Earth in a blink of an eye.

However, for people that were not used to instantaneous teleportation via Chaos Control, the aftermath was an absolute nightmare. Tails, Knuckles and Espio simultaneously felt very nauseous and dizzy once they appeared, but luckily, none of them threw up their lunch.

Immediately after arriving, the Chaos Emeralds shone brightly before scattering in different directions, having fulfilled their duties already. In addition, Metal Sonic, without a word, instantly took off to who-knows-where at supersonic speed, blowing dust and dirt on everyone's faces as a result. Shadow, at the same time, dashed back to GUN's headquarters to report the situation to the higher-ups.

Espio also made his way back to the Chaotix Detective agency after formally bidding his companions farewell. In an instant, the purple chameleon was out of sight, leaving just Knuckles, Tails and Sonic behind.

"Alright, I think I want a nap now," Sonic said with a huge yawn to emphasize his point.

"Yeah, that makes two of us," Knuckles replied with the same gesture.

"Alright, I'll have the Tornado pick us up in five minutes," Tails said cheerfully as he began to fiddle with his wristwatch communicator, entering some codes into the portable machine.

"Sounds good, I think I want to rest my feet for a while after all that fiasco." Sonic said. However, a sudden dot of pink out of the corner of his eye made the speedy blue blur change his mind almost instantly.

"SONIC!" yelled a high-pitched, girlish voice of the hammer-wielding hedgehog known as Amy Rose, and also known as Walking Doomsday to Sonic, from faraway.

'Uh oh' the trio shared a thought as they turned around to see the incoming dot of pink.

"Uh Tails, I think I'll just go on ahead," said Sonic hastily , fearing for his life as the pink dot got closer and closer, "See you at home, bud. Oh yeah, you did really well back there, little buddy…I'm really proud of you."

Without even waiting for his best friend to answer, the blue blur immediately stepped on it and sped off in a flash, leaving a huge turbulence behind.

A few seconds later, Amy zoomed past Tails and Knuckles without even stopping for a second to greet the newly returned heroes. In her mind right now, catching Sonic was priority one.

"I suppose some things never change, huh?" said Tails sheepishly as he watched Amy give chase along with Knuckles by his side.

"Yeah," agreed the echidna with amusement in his eyes. It always brought the guardian great joy and satisfaction to see his rival Sonic get chased around by his number-one hammer-swinging fangirl. "Anyway, I need to go back to Angel Island to check on the Master Emerald. Sure hope Mighty managed to keep it safe from you-know-who."

"Hey, speak of the devil, isn't that Rouge over there?" Tails said all of the sudden and pointed at a dot in the sky.

It was the unmistakable form of the female bat, and she looked like she was carrying something large and…green. It took a brief moment for realization to kick in, and Knuckles widened his eyes in shock momentarily before narrowing them in absolute fury.

"GIVE ME BACK MY EMERALD, YOU THIEVING BAT!" the enraged guardian yelled at the top of his lungs, forcing Tails to cover his sensitive ears in shock, and immediately took to the sky to give chase. Even after the echidna had disappeared from sight, the stunned fox could still hear some yelling noises, one in particular saying, "Darn it, Mighty, I'm so kicking your shell when I'm done with this".

Tails, after regaining his sense of hearing again, simply shrugged in defeat and snickered softly to himself. "Yeah, some things just never change around here," he said happily.

Five minutes later, the Tornado finally arrived on the scene. The young genius instantly hopped into the cockpit and made a beeline for his home sweet home in the Mystic Ruins.

'Tomorrow is going to be a new and adventure-filled day' the fox thought cheerfully with a smile as he stepped on the accelerator, disappearing into the faraway horizon in a blink of an eye.

And tomorrow would indeed be a brand new day,
Filled with countless new adventures along the way
For the bravest of heroes, whose tales continue to unfold.
No matter what hardships they have to encounter,
Sonic and his friends will never, ever falter.

THE END

A Temporary Farewell
(written by yours truly)

This is my farewell rap for all of y'all chaps
If you can't find direction, here's a simple map
Just go down from here and down slowly and sharp
And I assure you all, you won't get dizzy and barf.

I've still got lots to say, but I don't have all day.
So I really hope and pray y'all enjoyed my brief stay.
Now excuse me, if you may, for there are things I must do
Without which, my scores in school...are thoroughly screwed.

I like to write new stories and I did my best
But it's not gonna help me pass all of my tests
So this is me speaking true, and I hardly ever jest,
sonicfan is signing out, I sadly confess.

But do not fret, for I do intend to stay
So I can pump out more stories on a later date.
So really, no worry there…my wonderful mates
I'll eventually be back
With new food on the plate.
Oh yeah!

I must now stop here, for I've got no more rhyme
But hey now, is that really such a crime!? XD

Like The Doctor said to Rose Tyler in the episode "The Parting of the Ways", and I quote, "Before I go, I just want to tell you, you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And you know what? So was I." ;)

Have a fantastic life, everybody, for you and everyone around you.
