Team RWBY Plays: Super Smash Bros.
"I'm going to regret this, aren't I?" Weiss asks her fellow teammates, holding her light blue 3DS delicately as she stares at the title screen before her. "Everything we ever play from Nintendo just pisses me off, you know."
"C'mon, Princess! You'll love it!" Yang declared, happily gripping her own black 3DS. "Besides, thanks to Nora's Wii U, we can have eight players at once!"
"Yeah!" Ruby declared. "Team RWBY vs Team JNPR! Let's do this!"
"Did you say free for all?" Nora asked.
"Nora," Ren warned. "Don't do this."
"I swear to God, Nora, if you make this a free for all, I will end you," Blake added.
"Free for all?" She asked again.
"No," said several voices at once.
"So...teams?"
"Yes," Weiss answered.
"Okay."
"Well," Pyrrha whispered to Juane. "That was easier than expec-"
"FREE FOR ALL IT IS!" Nora locked the settings and all eight players were staring at the character select screen.
"No!" seven other voices cried out in fear.
Nora laughed. "I'ma be...Peach!"
Weiss shook her head. "Whatever," she muttered as she selected Lucina. Blake chose Sheik silently, praying for the strength to not murder Nora.
Yang laughed after a moment. "Well, at least its more interesting this way," she stated as she selected Shulk.
"Why Shulk?" Ruby asked as she selected Ganondorf.
"Because...reasons," Yang said as she changed the skin to the Underwear Shulk. "Hello there, Sexy."
Ren chose Zelda, Pyrrha went with Fox, and Jaune was the last to select as he chose Link. "Let's smash!" Nora exclaimed as she selected Temple to be their battlefield. "May the best princess win!"
"Out of the eight of us, only two of us are playing as a princess," Yang pointed out.
"Technically, Sheik is Zelda, so three would be the correct number," Blake added.
Weiss scoffed. "You fools clearly haven't played Fire Emblem: Awakening. Lucina is the daughter of the Exalt, thus making her a princess. And don't worry, Nora, I will win."
"You're actually an heiress," Blake chimed.
"Semantics!"
The game loaded and the countdown began...
3...2...1...GO~!
Within seconds, the screen was a mass jumble of eight player madness. "Where am I!? Ruby cried. "Where the hell am I!?"
"You're Ganondorf!" Yang exclaimed. "You're not that hard to follow!"
"There's too much happening on the screen! I can see where I am!" An explosion from the bottom of the screen signaled a death, and Ruby lost a life. "I walked off the edge? No~! I have one less chance to win!"
"Hey!" Nora exclaimed happily. "I got an assist trophy!"
"Wonderful," Weiss said dryly.
"It's...It's..." using the trophy, her helper arrived. "Nintendog!"
"No!" Cried seven other players.
Meanwhile... A long time ago in galaxy far far away...
"What is it, Ben?" Luke asked.
"It's as though a thousand voices cried out in terror...and were suddenly silenced."
"Wait, what?"
But More Importantly...
During the chaos that was Nintendog, Ruby lost yet another life, at which point they all realized that Nora had betrayed them in yet another way: the stock was set to two. "How is this fair!" Ruby yelled angrily.
Juane was the next to fall. Similar to Ruby's fate, he was beaten once and he killed himself for his second fall. "Damn it," he muttered sadly.
"To the loser's corner!" Nora said, pointing to an actual corner of the room that was taped off with duct tape. A piece of printer paper she had apparently written with a marker in bad handwriting "Failures". Ruby and Juane sat sadly in this little corner of the room with nothing but shame in their hearts.
After a while, it seemed as though the battle wasn't going anywhere. Everyone was down to their last life, but all were far too stubborn to die. That's when it came.
Much like the Star of Bethlehem signaled the birth of Christ, or whatever analogy you could possibly come up with for such a scenario, the Smash Ball appeared in the heavens, heralding a possible end to the never ending conflict of war between these people who seemed to have long since abandoned their friendships for sake of Super Smash Brothers glory.
"Want it!" Yang yelled.
"Need it!" Cried Blake.
"Hold me~!" Nore exclaimed as she leapt onto Ren's lap.
"Nora!" Ren yelled. "Stop! I can't play like this! You're cheating!" BOOM! Ren's Zelda walked off of the map. He sighed heavily. "I hate you."
"No you don't," she replied smugly with a grin.
Ren shook his head. "No, I don't."
The survivors crawled over each other to get the Holy Grail that was the Smash Ball. In the madness, Pyrrha's Fox was thrown into the screen to his death, splatting in a most ungraceful fashion for all to see. Feeling dejected, she joined Ruby and Juane in the Loser's Corner, hugging her knees.
"There there, Pyrrha," Ruby said as she patted the red hair of her head. "You did better than we did."
Pyrrha nodded, sniffling and fighting back tears. "But...but I was so close."
Madness consumed the game and its remaining players. It seemed that the victory would be very difficult to grasp. Until it finally happened. "Mine!" Weiss exclaimed with glee. "You have nowhere to hide!"
"No!" all the other players cried as Weiss used Lucina's Final Smash. Lunging across the screen, the hit every single one of them, knocking them all off the screen.
GAME!
"Bow before the mighty Weiss!" she yelled as she stood over everyone else.
Yang and Blake shrugged. It was a fun battle, and they were very close to victory as well, so they couldn't complain. Nora, however, seemed to not take it well. Tears welled up in her eyes. "B-b-b-but...I was so close."
"You win some, you lose some. It's alright, Nora," Yang said to comfort her.
It didn't work. Nora exploded into a tear filled tantrum as she flailed about on the floor; a sight none had seen before.
Ren sighed. "We'll see you later, guys," he said as he grabbed Nora's arms and dragged her out of the room with Juane and Pyrrha tailing behind. As the door closed and the echoes of Nora's tears could be heard from across the hall, team RWBY looked back and forth amongst themselves.
"I...I don't know how to feel about that," Weiss said at last.
AUTHOR'S NOTE
At long last a new chapter. This used to be so easy to me. When did Team RWBY Plays get so hard to write for? Oh well.
Seriously, though, what do you guys think about the new Super Smash Bros.? I freaking love it! I have it on my 3DS, but I just recently moved in with my sister, who bought a Wii U for her son. For Christmas, I'm buying my nephew a copy of the game. I mean, he likes it and I know he'll play it...but let's be honest, this is more for me to play then him. Eventually he gets bored of games. He hasn't played Mario Kart in weeks, but me and my sister, the adults in this house, still play it.
I find it funny that the Five-Year-Old is more interested in watching youtube videos than he is playing his own games. Kids today, I swear.
I don't promise to be as active on Team RWBY Plays as I once was, but as usual, leave a review or a PM if you have a suggestion. I do still read them, so every little bit helps somewhat. Also, a reminder that I now do video game videos on youtube. Just look for HolyOrdersOtaku and you should find my channel easily enough.
Till next time, friends! :D
