Okay...uh...look, I don't really have an excuse for such a long break in-between chapters. I think I may have to chalk it up to laziness but to be fair, I do have a LOT going on right now so I guess that makes it hard to write too. Anyways, enough depressing stuff, let's get to the review response.

jalen johnson: Well, it only took a few months but now you can see the conclusion to the duel at last! Huzzah!

Anyways, here we get the conclusion to Yusei VS Sect! At long last, the whole Sect-possessed saga finally comes to an end. Enjoy or whatever. And Review as always or whatever. I mean, do whatever you want I'm just saying. But if you feel like reviewing, you know, maybe drop a review. Okay I'm getting off topic let's just roll the chapter! Also, see if you guy's can spot The Star Wars reference I threw in there! It might be a little tricky but see if you guys can spot it anyway. Answer is at the end of this chapter too. But now, time for your regularly scheduled Card Game on Motorcycles. Enjoy.

Episode 23: Light Sense

Yusei: 700

Sect: 3600

Yusei flew past Sect on the Runway of Sky's Lock, his body and runner glowing brighter than the sun itself. The Fly-Lord looked on in shock, as Yusei broke apart from his double and pulled in behind his creation.

"Creating a turbo stream with a double made of sense!" Sect gasped in horror as he looked on at his opponent.

"This is the true evolution of cross sense!" responded Yusei with a cry. "A power generated by our bond! The junk duelist looked to his trusty dragon and roared, "Stardust! Become a flash of light and soar!"

Sect's eyes widened with fear as the majestic duel dragon let out a fearsome bellow before rising into the night sky and radiating a glow similar to that of a star.

"Stardust is shining white too!" fumed the insect duelist as he raised a hand so to avoid being completely blinded by all the light that was radiating from Yusei and his dragon.

Stardust Spark Dragon: Attack 4000

Yusei flung his arm out as he gunned his engine, his speed enhanced greatly via his use of the turbo stream. "Stardust!" he declared. "Split Beelzeus' darkness! Sect, let this reach your heart!"

Stardust flew forward so fast that the energy around the beast formed into a swirling torpedo, creating a ginormous blast of light as it smashed through Beelzeus and destroyed the corrupted duel dragon.

"DOUBLE CROSS SENSE!" echoed into the night as Stardust's attack seemed to collapse in on itself and released a blast of light that covered the entire runway.

"What ferocious sense!" Jack commented as he was pushed back by the immense power of Yusei's attack. However, his tone was still quite casual, as he refused to fully acknowledge Yusei's abilities even though there was no one around to hear him. He turned his attention to the crumbling forms of Beelzeus and Stardust and noted to himself that despite Yusei's efforts, "the two still have equal attack and will therefore still take each other out."

Yusei and Sect, who were far closer to the attack than Jack was, were both absorbed into the light and were now floating in a strange empty space together. Yusei seemed perfectly fine, whilst Sect was floating on an angle, as if he had been knocked down. His helmet suddenly seemed too big for him, as it was covering his eyes.

Yusei grinned at his friend. "I finally perfected it Sect," he chirped happily. "I trained with you, dueled all sorts of duelists." He paused to remove one of his gloves. "And in the end, your Hell Armored Sense opened up new possibilities for me."

Yusei reached out with his gloveless hand towards Sect's out-stretched hand. "This Double Cross Sense," he stated with delight, "is a true product of our friendship."

Suddenly, the light subsided and Yusei and Sect were transported back to their duel. Sect lingered behind Yusei, his runner now beaten up and damaged from Yusei's attack. His head was down and he said nothing.

Yusei closed his eyes as he slid his duel dragon into the graveyard slot on his disk. 'Thank you Stardust,' he thought. 'It may have been a draw, but you truly triumphed over Beelzeus.'

The Satellite opened his eyes and looked back to his friend. 'That must have saved Sect.' He gasped however, when a large female wearing red beetle armor rose up from the smoke and brandished a large broadsword.

Great Hades Stag Beetle: Attack 2500

Next to this fearsome new monster stood a trap card: Counterstrike Molt.

Counterstrike Molt (Trap Card)

When a monster on your side of the field has been destroyed by battle or card effect, you can special summon one insect-type monster from your hand with a level lower than the destroyed monster to the field in face-up attack or defense mode.

'Sect used his trap to summon out Hades Stag Beetle!' Yusei noted in thought. 'But does that mean...my feelings haven't reached him yet? Is Sect not free?'

Sect, who had his hand covering his face, laughed. "Yusei…" he mused as his helmet began to crack and fall apart. "…You really did it this time didn't you…"

Suddenly, his entire helmet fell away and Sect looked up to Yusei, his eyes back to normal and his face brandishing a cocky grin. "Yusei!"

Yusei cried out in joy, "Sect!" He was on the verge of tears. He'd finally rescued Sect from the darkness that had devoured and corrupted his soul.

A look of disbelief meanwhile was plastered across Jack's face. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. 'Sect Ijuin is himself again? Is this the power of friendship?' he pondered to himself in thought.

"Yusei," Sect stated sadly as he lowered his head in shame. "I've done terrible things. I've gotten stronger sure, but I dragged innocents into this.' His thoughts drifted to Akiza, still tied up within the Watch Tower. "I've committed atrocities that I'll never be able to make up for."

"Sect…" Yusei muttered in reply. Before he could say anything else however, a tremendous roar erupted from the Watchtower and a blast of shadow energy followed.

"The Ultimate God is powering up again!" cried Sect in horror.

"The shadow energy is solidifying," noted Jack from the other end of the runway. "Which means…."

The large shadow energy began to meld together and created a large horrifying creature similar in form to the Despair from the Dark monster, only far larger and more pitch-black in colour.

Yusei scowled at the sight of the large, ominous creature. 'How can we stop something as powerful as this?' he thought to himself in frustration.

"Yusei!" Sect shouted, gaining his friend's attention. "The Skeleton Knight told me something earlier!"

-Earlier-

Sect, still possessed and power-hungry, sat on his thrown in the Watchtower. He was getting used to his power more but his face was still cracked at this point. The Skeleton Knight stood before him, but was turned away to one of the walls.

"Duels become energy that fuels the Ultimate God's resurrection," the Knight explained. "The seal which holds the God down will grow weaker and weaker." He grinned suddenly. "However, the opposite is true as well. Darkness rises, and light to meet it. The stronger the shadows grow, the stronger the light grows." The cursed duelist turned to the wall where the Duel Dragons were inscribed upon it. "It is said that only true duelist can emit Light Sense during a duel. And this sense is the power to seal the Ultimate God. To that end Sect, you must conquer the darkness."

Sect merely laughed in response. "Is this a joke Skeleton Knight? I'm here to get ultimate power, not seal it away."

The Knight glanced at Sect for a moment before turning away. "That's fine…for now. In time, you will understand however."

'Light Sense!' thought Yusei. 'Roman had planned for Sect and I to complete the ritual all along!'

The junk duelist grinned a little as he lowered his head and spoke to Sect. The two were now racing up the steps towards the Watchtower and the shadow beast, which occupied it. The tower itself was starting to crumble and debris flew all around them. "Sect…we turbo duelists have always let our duels convey our emotions." He looked up and stared right at his friend. "If you're a turbo duelist too, then hit me with your emotions with all your might!"

Sect's eyes widened. 'My emotions,' he thought. He recalled his last duel with Yusei, where Yusei declared him his rival.

"I want to beat you!" Sect bellowed and gunned his engine.

"I want to beat you too Sect!" responded Yusei as he himself sped up before clenching his fist triumphantly. "This will be our ultimate duel! Let's hit the Ultimate God with our sense and seal it once and for all!"

"Roger that Yusei!" Sect replied. "I've got more power now and I'll hit you with everything that I've got!"

"Bring it Sect!" challenged Yusei with a grin. "I summon Junk Meister in defense mode! I set one card face down and end my turn!"

A blue mechanical being with red metal wings appeared on the field with a face down accompanying it.

Junk Meister: Defense 2300

Turn 8: Sect

"My turn! I draw!" roared Sect as he pulled Insect-Luring Light from his deck and grinned at it. "My man!" he mused. "You think your defense is solid huh? Go, spell card: Insect-Luring Light! Now I can force one of your monsters into attack mode!"

Yusei gasped as his monster was forced into an offensive position.

Junk Meister: Attack 100

"Great Hades Stag Beetle!" ordered Sect. "Destroy Junk Meister and win me the duel!"

The demonic warrior leapt into the air and aimed its powerful blade at Junk Meister before being interrupted by Yusei. "Not so fast Sect!" he interjected. "Because you're attacking Junk Meister, his effect activates, allowing me to activate one Junk spell or trap card from my deck!"

"Activate a card from your deck!" panicked Sect as a card slotted out from Yusei's deck.

"Go, Junk Cross!" cried Yusei as he snatched up the card and slotted it into his disk. "This allows me to switch the attack and defense of two monsters battling if one of them is a Junk monster! That means Junk Meister's 2300 defense becomes 2300 attack!"

Junk Meister: 100-2300 Attack

"And Hades Stag Beetle's 1900 defense becomes 1900 attack," groaned Sect.

Great Hades Stag Beetle: Attack 2500-1900

"Go! Scrap Sky Slash!" roared Yusei as his monster flew through Hades Stag Beetle, chopping the monster to bits with its metal wings.

Sect: 3600-3200

"But with Hades destroyed, I can activate her effect!" retorted Sect whilst holding up an arm to block the recoil from the latest battle. "I can bring out my ultimate insect: Great Poseidon Beetle!"

There was a beam of light, and emerging from it was a large warrior wearing white armor and a beetle helmet, who also wielded a shining trident.

Great Poseidon Beetle: Attack 2500

Yusei scowled. "Hades' true purpose was to bring Poseidon out!"

"You're also forgetting that my battle phase isn't over yet!" interjected Sect. "And due to Insect-Luring Light, the monster affected by it can't be destroyed in battle!"

"But Poseidon's effect allows it to attack up to three times if its battling monsters in attack mode!" panicked Yusei, recalling Poseidon's effect from their last duel.

"Trident Spiral!" Sect roared as he thrust his arm forward, and his monster charged forward and skewered Junk Meister. Yusei cried out in pain as a shockwave slammed into him.

Yusei: 700-500

"I'm not done yet!" Sect continued. "There are two more strikes left!"

Great Poseidon Beetle leapt forward and slashed twice, creating an x-shaped shockwave, which left Yusei spinning out of control briefly.

Yusei: 500-300-100

Junk Meister: Attack 2300-100

"That's my true power!" declared Sect as Yusei regained control of his runner.

"What a combo," Yusei complimented. "That was some great sense Sect."

There was a roar from above as the shadow creature grew larger and larger and it continued to demolish its surroundings, create a storm of debris.

"The Ultimate God is still destroying Seibal," said Sect worryingly as he dodged some stone flying at him. "We have to seal it fast or else…"

Yusei looked forward, a little unnerved at the situation before him. 'I got no cards in my hand, just 100 life points, only one monster on the field and one face down card. Yet I have to end this duel somehow.'

"We don't have much time left!" Yusei cried out to Sect ahead of him. "We have to end this now! The next turn settles this duel!" He reached to his deck and gripped his next card.

Sect looked back and saw the grin on Yusei's face; a grin that he knew meant Yusei was psyched. 'He's smiling?' Sect thought in surprise. 'Despite the situation we're in, Yusei's still having fun.'

"I'm putting my soul, into this draw!" declared Yusei as he began to draw his card. 'My deck,' he continued in thought. 'We've fought many battles. Fought many great duelists.' His thoughts drifted to Jack, Akiza, Leo and Luna. 'I know you'll respond to my feelings.'

Turn 9: Yusei

Yusei finished his draw and paused for a moment before looking at his card. He grinned and slapped it onto his disk. "I summon the tuner monster Quick-Span Knight!"

A humanoid spanner robot appeared onto the field in a flash of light.

Quick-Span Knight: Attack 1000

'A tuner monster now!' panicked Sect in his mind. 'Don't tell me…'

"Quick-Span Knight level 3!" declared Yusei. "Give the level 4 Junk Meister a tune up!"

Span Knight transformed into three rings whilst Meister transformed into four stars which floated into the rings. Together, this created a blast of brilliant light.

Yusei flung his arm into the air. "Let's rev it up one more time! I synchro summon the Champion of Lighting: Lighting Warrior!"

There was a flash of lightning and the skies roared with thunder as a fierce warrior in shiny white armor with wild yellow hair crashed down into play via a lightning bolt.

Lighting Warrior: Attack 2400

"And when Quick-Span Knight has been used as material for a synchro summon!" added Yusei. "One of your monsters loses 500 attack!"

The spanner tuner reappeared on the field momentarily so its head could detach from its body and fly into Poseidon Beetle, wounding the monster.

Great Poseidon Beetle: Attack 2500-2000

"Still recreating our last duel huh Yusei?" grinned Sect.

Yusei nodded in response and tapped a button on his disk. "I'm far from done Sect! I activate the trap Bond's Reward! Now I can banish all the Synchro monsters in my graveyard, and increase the attack of one Synchro monster on my field by the total levels of those banished monsters times 200!"

"The total levels of Stardust and Gravity Warrior is fourteen!" panicked Sect.

"Draw strength from your fallen allies Lighting Warrior!" commanded Yusei as the spirits of his two fallen monsters merged into Lightning Warrior, charging him up with power.

Lighting Warrior: Attack 2400-5200

"5200…attack…" Sect stated in awe before lowering his head with a smile. "I knew it. I can't beat you. But that's Yusei for you, Satellite's best duelist. My idol." He looked up to Yusei and shouted. "Until I win, I'm never letting you go Yusei! No matter what!"

Yusei grinned back at his friend. "But before that, we have a job to do!" he noted as he and Sect looked towards the dark creature before them.

As the two reached the end of the staircase, they turned in separate directions before quickly turning the other way and charging towards each other, One-Shot Run style.

"Here I come Sect!" shouted Yusei as the two gunned their engines.

"Light Sense is the only way to seal the Ultimate God!" the two duelists roared simultaneously. "Synchronize our thoughts! Amplify them to max! Our Sense! Shining Armored Sense!"

Both of their back wheels began to glow white, and shining angelic wings emerged from the back of their runners. Both Great Poseidon Beetle and Lightning Warrior glowed white as well as they charged towards each other, just as the dark beast above lunged towards Yusei and Sect.

"Vanish into the light Ultimate God!" screamed Yusei and Sect as their two monsters collided, creating an explosion of white. "LIGHT SENSE: CROSS SENSE FINAL!"

The blast created a stream of light, which flew up into the sky and illuminated the night, ending the eclipse, which had engulfed the world just as Yusei and Sect both screeched to a halt on their runners.

Yusei: 100

Sect: 3200-0

Winner: Yusei

Suddenly, the Watchtower began to crumble and fall apart. The Ultimate God, still trapped within, gave a final pitiful growl as its eyes went black and it crumbled to pieces. Akiza, who was also within the tower, was suddenly freed as the wall she was trapped in crumbled along with the wires that were restraining her.

Yusei noticed Akiza falling to the ground and cried out in horror as the tower seemed ready to completely collapse and bury the duel priestess.

"Akiza!" he cried before he heard a familiar cocky voice urge him to move aside.

"Out of the way Yusei Fudo!" snarled Jack as he shot past Yusei on his Phoenix Whirlwind and entered the crumbling building. Yusei was completely shocked. Jack had been watching the duel from the other end of the runway the entire time. Yet the King has somehow managed to make his way down to the tower in a few seconds flat. Yusei was certain this was impossible, but like a magician, Jack had somehow managed this seemingly impossible feat anyway. And before Yusei knew it, Jack had made it out alive with Akiza in his arms.

"Thanks Jack," the Satellite said to the King as he helped Akiza to stand.

Jack puffed out his chest in response. "Who gave you permission to thank me?" he responded bluntly, but Yusei could hear the slight sarcasm in his voice. Jack's tough guy persona was not as strong as he believed.

Yusei looked around at the ruins of the tower before him. 'The Ultimate God vanished in the light,' he noted in his mind. 'The struggle is finally over.'

"Yusei," chimed in Sect, as if he knew what the junk duelist was thinking. "It's done."

Yusei grinned and turned to Sect whilst removing his glove and holding his hand out. "Sect, that was an awesome duel. Now why don't we head home, where we belong."

Sect, who was teary-eyed now, nodded and shook his friend's hand. And before they knew it, all four duelists were standing in the ruins triumphantly. The Ultimate God had been defeated. Jack was standing with his back to everyone of course, but he couldn't hide the smile on his face completely. Akiza seemed to be recovering well and Yusei and Sect were looking into the clouds, whilst the light reflected off of the goggles that Sect was now once again wearing on his head.

All was well.

To Be Continued: Next Time – The Final Face-Off

Everything seems to be well! The day seems to be saved when a new challenge emerges to snatch the sweet victory away from our heroes. Yusei must duel one more time, and face the deck of God itself if he wants to save the world. The final battle has come! But who will walk away from the ruins?

Yeah, you didn't really think it was over did you! Well it isn't. We've got like, quite a few chapters left still actually. Plus a few I'm adding for the sake of it. Also, did anyone catch the Star Wars reference? It was when Skeleton Knight says "Darkness rises, and light to meet it." Which is a line from one of the Last Jedi TV spots. I threw it in their because I just couldn't resist. Anyways, hope you enjoyed this chapter. Hopefully it was worth the wait (if not then...I dunno...sorry?).
