A/N: So here it is! The final chapter, again: I am soo sorry for making you all wait so long! Usually I finish the story before I begin posting it, but for whatever reason this time I decided to post it as soon as I finish writing it, which- obviously- didn't go too well because sometimes I'll take random breaks from writing! A big THANK YOU to everyone who favorited and reviewed- you guys are the best! :) And now, without further ado: I give you- Chapter 7!
Disclaimer: I do not own young justice.
Chapter 7: Epilogue
The next few weeks past in a blur of happiness and content.
Dick healed from his injury nicely, and spent his recuperating time with Wally and Artemis, who had re-retired from the team.
Kaldur kept them posted on their progress tracking Wasp. They had found her hiding in another hidden temple in Bialya, but she had gotten away. M'Gann was able to get some info from her mind, but not enough to help crack the case.
When Dick was well enough to return to the Team, Artemis and Wally took some one-on-one time to reacquaint. Things didn't go back to the way they were, but they were somehow better because there was a mutual bond of trust and respect.
A few months after incident, there was a knock on their door. Wally was still sound asleep, so Artemis took a break from her report to answer it.
She found M'Gann hugging herself on their doorstep, wearing an unsure expression.
"Hi, Artemis."
"Hi,"Artemis stepped aside for her to enter, "is everything alright?"
M'Gann bit her lip,
"Not really… We found Wasp again in a mission last night."
"Did she get away again?"
"Yes but…. But I learned why she kidnapped Wally."
Artemis leaned against the doorframe and raised her eyebrows.
"Okay… why ?"
M'Gann looked uncomfortable.
"I think I should show you."
Artemis shrugged,
"Fine. My mind's all yours."
M'Gann's eyes shown red for a moment before Artemis could no longer see her; instead everything was dark…
The stairway was dimly lit, and shadows flickered on the stone walls as Sportsmaster shuffled down, each step taking him deeper and deeper into the earth.
Cursing as he tripped over a broken step, he finally emerged in a room the size of a football field, the walls flanked with Bialyan guards.
"You're late."
The voice that spoke out was rich, and rang with annoyance.
Sportsmaster shifted his eyes to the center of the room, where there was a stone stage upon which several people were standing in the shadows.
"My apologizes, Queen Bee. I had some trouble on my way here."
A woman stepped forward, out of the shadows so that the torches on the walls illuminated her face.
She had dark skin and black hair held back by a golden tiara.
Her blue eyes narrowed as she glared at him,
"I am a busy man, Sportsmaster… you requested to meet with me, might I inquire why?"
"Of course… I am here to call in an old favor."
Queen Bee raised her eyebrows and put her hands on her hips, listening.
"My daughter… Artemis," a look of distaste crossed his face, "I'm sure you're familiar with her?"
Queen Bee fluttered her hand,
"Green Arrow's replacement sidekick… of course."
"Well, you see, she has become… involved, with the idiot speedster, Kid Flash."
Queen Bee let out a merciless laugh,
"You can't be serious!"
The little skin visible from behind his mask flushed.
"Unfortunately, I am…. Now, as you can imagine this is most unsettling."
She nodded.
"Clearly…. But what would you like from me?"
Sportsmaster shifted his feet before looking Queen Bee resolutely in the eye.
"I need you to seduce him away from her."
Again, Queen Bee tilted her head back and laughed,
"Sportsmaster I understand why this upsets you, however I do not get involved with personal problems. I strictly-"
"There's nothing personal about it. I couldn't care less who my daughter see's- unless it's someone who damages me rep."
Tilting her head to the side, Queen Bee quietly examined Sportsmaster before opening her mouth to speak,
"I see… now, how, exactly, do you expect me to seduce him when he is well aware of my- ah- abilities?"
"I don't know, and I don't care- just as long as it gets done."
Queen Bee stroked her chin thoughtfully.
"There is no way I can get personally involved in this matter… it would cause too much suspicion. However- Wasp!"
Queen Bee snapped her fingers.
"Sportsmaster, I would like to introduce you to my daughter, Wasp."
She gestured to the young woman who had just stepped out of the shadows.
Like her mother, Wasp had a slim figure with black hair and blazing blue eyes- however, her skin was lighter, more than a cream than Queen Bee's was.
Sportsmaster inclined his head and the girl nodded.
"She possesses my gift as well. I feel it would be more appropriate if she were the one to take on this task."
Sportsmaster nodded and looked at the girl.
"Fine. Let's go."
The darkness of the temple dissolved and Artemis found herself blinking rapidly against the sudden light. M'Gann's was biting her lip timidly.
"Artemis…."
"Of course," Artemis' jaw was clenched, "I should have expected it! Why didn't I see it?"
"Artemis I wasn't going to show you this but Superboy said-"
"No, M'Gann I'm glad you did."
"But you're-"
"Relax, I'm not going to do anything… not yet at least."
She glanced back into the house and smiled softly.
"I'll get back at my father soon enough, but for right now, Wally's back- and that's all I need."
