They go to Derek's house and are immediately greeted by his mother. "Derek told me everything. Get inside," she says. Spencer sits on the couch and Hotch next to him. Derek paces the living room. "I don't know that I can do this," he tells them. "You can, Spencer. You need to."
Derek's mother comes back in with a frown. "Spencer, no matter what you've done with that boy or allowed him to do, this isn't your fault. Do you hear me?" Spencer nods, but it's only to appease her. He doesn't believe a word she's said. The police arrive and ask to speak with Spencer. "Ma'am, you may stay if he would like," they say.
"Spencer, do you want me to stay?" She asks softly. He would. He's terrified. But he doesn't want anyone that doesn't have to know hear the details. "No thank you, Mrs. Morgan," he says softly. She ruffles his hair and walks into the kitchen where his friends have relocated. "Now Spencer, son, can you tell us what happened?"
Spencer takes a deep breath. "I did something bad," he tells them. They encourage him to continue. "He offered to pay me if I would let him kiss me and I accepted, but I couldn't do it so I told him it was over. He got really upset and... And he was in my house. He tied my mom up and he forced me onto my bed. He said if I didn't let him... Let him do things that he would kill her," he says. It feels like he's going to pass out.
The officer that isn't writing his statement down is rubbing his back. "You have to be specific Spencer. I'm sorry. What did he make you do?" Spencer bites his lip. "He wanted to have... He," he can't finish. He's hyperventilating. They give him a minute to calm down. "He wanted to have sex with me," Spencer says softly. "I said no. He said he would cut my mom's throat if I didn't. He'd already hurt her."
The officer continues to write. "Did he rape you?" Spencer nods. His eyes are full of tears. "I'd never... He was the first," he tells them morosely. "Okay Spencer. We're going to file these charges against him and if he says he didn't do it you'll have to appear in court. Can you do that?' the officer asks. Spencer shrugs his shoulders. "Am I going to be in trouble?" Spencer asks.
The officer frowns. "It will be brought up Spencer. If anything, it won't be a lot of trouble." Spencer holds his head in his hands and cries.. "I don't want to be in trouble. Can I... Can I just take it back? I don't want to file charges," he cries. The office that had been writing kneels down in front of him. "If you don't press charges he's not going to stop," he tells Spencer.
Spencer hiccups and sniffles. "I don't want to be in trouble," Spencer says. "We'll work on that. We promise. Can you go through with this?" They ask. Spencer nods and wipes his face.
"Alright Spencer. We'll be in touch. Keep being brave," the office says. Spencer wraps his arms around him self and tries to stop crying. Mrs. Morgan, Derek and Hotch all reenter the living room. Hotch wraps his arms around him once again. "So brave Spencer," he says. Spencer clings to him.
Mrs. Morgan has told Spencer that he could stay the night with her. "Bring your mom over and she can stay here too." Spencer thanks her but declines. Hotch drives him home in Derek's car. "Do you want me to sneak over tonight? I would feel safer if I did..." Aaron admits. Spencer looks up at him. "Won't you get caught?" Hotch shakes his head. "That's not how my family works."
Spencer kisses his boyfriend and enters his house with the plan of seeing Hotch at midnight. His mother is sitting at the table going through her lecture papers. "Spencer, come sit down. I have to give a presentation tomorrow and I want you to look it over." Spencer sits across from his mom. He reads through her paper, though he's already read it numerous times.
"It looks good, mom," he tells her weakly. "You look like you've aged a hundred years," she tells him. "Is there anything you want to tell me?" Spencer shakes his head. There are tears in his eyes once again. "Is it a girl?" She asks. Spencer shakes his head. "Is it a boy?" He continues. Spencer shakes his head again. "Christ Spencer, tell me it's not a horse," she jokes. Spencer breaks into a smile and chuckles. "It's nothing mom. I'm going to go finish my homework," he tells her before dropping a kiss on her cheek and walking to his room.
Hotch comes a little after midnight. He taps on Spencer's window and waits patiently for Spencer to let him in. He bundles Spencer into his arms and kisses him. "Are you ready for bed?" He asks. Spencer nods. He hadn't been able to sleep. He gets on the bed first and Hotch after. He pulls Spencer close and makes sure he's all tucked in. Spencer is asleep before he can even say goodnight.
He wakes throughout the night and reaffirms that everything is okay. He's in bed. Hotch is here. Hotch is holding him. His mom is asleep. He was honest. He is okay. He settles back down in his lover's arms and closes his eyes. "Spence, you're safe. I'm right here," Hotch whispers to him everytime. "I know," Spencer says.
