Episode Four:

Dead Man Dating

It's evening time and we see the front door of the Hastings Manor, Spencer is walking towards the door with Toby by her side. "Thanks for dinner, it's nice hanging out, even though we're just friends," she says walking towards the door. "It was really nice," he says, "I love hanging out with you," he adds when they stop by the door. "Happy birthday," he tells her and puts his hand in his jacket pocket and pulls out a box. "But my birthday isn't until next week," she reaches for the box and he pulls it away. "Consider this a preview," she grabs the box from him and opens it up. She pulls out… "A key?" she questions the gift. "To the Calistoga Spa. We leave Friday night after work. Don't worry. I got us adjoining rooms." She looks at him, a little confused and happy at the same time. "Adjoining rooms?" she asks him. "Well, I wouldn't want to assume something I'm not supposed to be assuming. Although, it has been over a month since we... decided to take it slow, but no pressure. I just want to be with you, away, together. Think about it," he tells her. She holds onto the key, "Ok," she says as he leans over and kisses her. "Let me know soon, good night," he says and walks towards his car at the end of the side walk. "Happy birthday to me," Spencer says, opening the door and walking inside.

It's Thursday night and Emily doesn't get off until 1am. She's working the bar and Hanna is sitting on a stool by the barely empty bar area of the restaurant. It's a little past midnight and there's barely anyone at the bar except Hanna and some guy on the other end. Emily hands him a beer and then walks by her sister. "So, you have two options, you can either get a job and go in with us on these concert tickets for Spencer's birthday or you can get your own gift," Emily tells her, looking at her sister. "I'm working on it," Hanna tells her. Emily has only known her for a few years, but she feels like she's known Hanna her whole life. "What do you mean you're working on it?" she asks her sister, trying to pry a little. Hanna gives her a look. "I have a job interview," she begins to say, "Unless you guys are hiring?" she asks her. "We're looking for someone in the kitchen," Emily tells her. "I'm good," Hanna informs her. "I'll stick to this interview tomorrow morning," she lets her know. "Have you been using your powers?" Emily asks her to want to know because she hasn't really figured hers out. "What do you mean? I have premonitions, they come when they want," she begins to tell her. "I haven't tried to force one," she continues. "What about you?" Hanna asks out of curiosity. Emily thinks about it. "I mean, I don't hear voices all the time. I never really tried to figure it out," she tells her. "What am I thinking?" Hanna ask her, Emily can't hear anything. "I've got nothing," she informs her. "Touch me," Hanna tells her. Emily reaches out with her right hand and touches her sister's left arm. "Still nothing," she tells her. "Maybe it doesn't work on us, I mean, Aria didn't freeze us at that dinner," Emily tries to tell her when a waitress a few years older than Emily walks by the counter. "Hey, Em, can I get a sweet tea with a lot of ice?" she asks her. "Ok," Emily walks by the cups grabs one and back to the counter where the ice machine is and puts a lot of ice into the cup. She then walks to the sweet tea dispenser and fills up the cup. "Lemon?" she asks. "Yeah," the girl says. Emily then adds a slice of lemon on the rim of the cup. She hands the cup to her and hears something. 'Emily's sister's pretty hot, I wonder if she's single, or gay?' in her head. "What was that?" Emily asks. "I didn't say anything," she says and walks off with the drink. Emily's walks back by Hanna and leans on the counter with her arms, she hears something else. 'That blonde at the end is smoking, should I go talk to her? I don't know, she might not be interested,' she hears something else. Emily then looks at the guy on the other end, he's leaning a little on the counter while drinking his beer. "It works by touch, I heard Brooke think about you and the guy on the end over there as well," she tells Hanna. "So, by touching something they are touching?" Hanna tries to confirm what her sister is telling her. "Yeah, so I wonder if it works when I touch someone as well," she wonders as well. "They both were thinking about me?" she asks. "Yes, the both of them are attracted to you," she confirms it to her. Hanna gets off the stool and walks over to the guy first. "Hi, my name is Hanna," she tells him and starts flirting with him.

The next morning Mark Chan's mother's place. Mark and his mother are standing outside and he's holding a balloon. His mother is trying to get a picture of him on his birthday. "Give me a break, mom," he tells her. He's a good looking, man of Asian descent, his friends would describe him like an Asian James Franco. "There are a lot of hungry spirits out there, Mark," she tells him. "You're like the Chinese Shirley MacLaine, you know that?" he asks her. "Better safe than sorry," Mrs. Chan tells him. "I'll risk it," he tells her, acting in a hurry. "You should have more respect for ghosts, Mark. IF your grandmother were here…" she gets interrupted by her son. "She'd warn me about all the evil spirits walking the streets of Chinatown. I know. I know," he says as she takes an amulet off a hook next to the door and tries to hand it to her son. "You should take this for protection," she tells him. He takes it and hangs it back from where she got it from. "Maybe the ghosts need protection from me," he kisses her on the cheek, "I'll be ok, mom. I'm 25 now. I can take care of myself, ok," he hands her the balloon. "I got to go," he says. "Happy Birthday, Mark," Mrs. Chan tells her son. "Thanks," he says and walks off.

We then see Chinatown. Mark is walking down the crowded street when a girl he knows passes by him. "Hi, Mark," she tells him. "Hey, how are you?" he says being polite back. When Mark walks down an alley a gang surrounds him. "Is this the guy?" someone asks. "That's him," Tony says to him. "Is today your birthday?" he then asks Mark. "Who are you? What do you want?" Mark says confused and scared a little. "You. Make a wish," Tony says pulling out his gun and points it at Mark and shoots. He falls on the ground and his spirit floats out of his body and stands on the side of it. Tony kneels beside Mark's body and places a ring on his finger. Another guy pours kerosene all over his body and Tony lights a match. "What are you doing? Hey, wait. No!" Mark's body is engulfed in flames.

The next morning Aria is in the kitchen of the Manor. She's putting invitations inside of envelopes as Hanna walks in. "Good morning," she says to Aria and notices the invitations. "Going old school, I see. You might want to put those away, Spencer's on her way down," she tells her sister. "Hanna, you were supposed to send these invitations out last week, the party is Friday," Aria reminds her sister. "We're right on schedule. Emily got the restaurant reserved, the menu is selected, the cake has been ordered," Hanna tells her as Aria hides them in the nearest drawer in the kitchen. Aria gets upset and looks at her sister. "That's because Emily and I have done those things. At least tell me your working on your share of the present, unless you're going to stick with your traditional gift," Aria walks towards the refrigerator and opens it, to grab a bottled water. "What's my traditional gift?" Hanna asks. "A card, three days late," Aria says walking to the table and sitting down and Hanna leans her back against the island. "Well, I decided to break that tradition, I'm going in this time, I got a job interview today," Hanna says just as Spencer walks in. "Morning," she says announcing her presence. "Where's Emily?" she asks them. Aria looks at her, after taking a sip of water. "School. She's got a test to take," Aria informs her. "Good morning. So, how was your date with Toby?" Hanna asks. Spencer walks to the coffee machine and making herself some coffee ignoring her sisters' question. "C'mon, Han, it wasn't a date," Aria says in almost a mocking tone. She loves messing with her sister. "It was great, until he asked me to spend my birthday at a spa with him," Spencer tells them as she walks to sit down. "Oh, I hate when they do that," Hanna says in a sarcastic tone. Aria wants to know when, to make sure it didn't mess with her surprise party for Spencer. "For this weekend? You didn't say yes, did you?" she ask her sister. "Well, I wanted to, badly. I want to spend time with him, maybe even make this official again. I just have to think about it," Spencer informs her sister of her decision. Hanna looks at her sister, and is ready to convince her to go, she walks to the table and sits down. "A weekend of rest, rubdowns, and room service. What's to think about?" Aria kicks Hanna under the table, which makes her remember the party. "I mean, uh, you could be right. Going away with a guy is like…" she begins to say. "It's like bringing them home to meet the parents. It changes everything. So, you need to be sure if you're ready for this commitment," Aria tells her. "Plus, you need a week to prepare for a weekend away. I mean, there's lingerie shopping, waxing, manicure, pedicure. I mean, it's basically a full-time job and you've already got one. So, you'll never be ready, not even if you started packing this second," Hanna let's her know, trying to convince her not to go. "Bottom line, unless you're ready to move in with him, you shouldn't go," she finishes off her argument. "You guys aren't trying to plan another surprise party for me, are you?" Spencer asks thinking she's figuring them out. "No, never," Aria says. "No, we've given up on trying to surprise you, Spence," Hanna says as Spencer stands up to leave for work. She started earlier this week and has been enjoying her new job. "Well, that's good because you both know how much I hate surprises," Spencer says leaving the room. "Damn it, Hanna. If you had sent Toby his invitation we wouldn't be in this mess," Aria tells her after she hears the door shut behind her sister. "Ok, what are you talking about? You heard Spencer, she doesn't want a party. So, you should be glad that I flaked, besides, you know as well as I do, she's going to go away with Toby. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a present to pay for. Which means I have a job interview," Hanna says standing up and leaving through the back door leaving Aria alone in the kitchen.

We see Hanna at the Radley Hotel. Hanna and Ashley, the hotel manager is there. Ashley Marin, a beautiful woman with bright red hair and blue eyes is talking to Hanna by the bar. "You know why our hotel does psychic readings at the bar, it's kind of a trademark," she says looking at Hanna. "Well, that's why I'm here. I saw your ad on Indeed. I am a natural born psychic," she tells her. "Yeah, right. What's your act? Tea leaves, tarot cards, crystal balls, what?" Ashley comes off as a nonbeliever. "No, I can see the future. I mean, I can't always see it, I never actually know when it's going to work. Usually when I touch someone or I'm in the same general area as them. It's kind of hard to explain," Ashley's getting bored with Hanna. "Next!", she calls out. "No," Hanna stops her from walking off. "Wait, Ashley, hold it. I see it. You're having dinner with a blonde man, he's hot, all over you. Then some other guy shows up. You look surprised. Ooh, he looks pissed. Your husband?" she asks her. Ashley then believes her. "When can you start?" she says making Hanna happy.

Spencer started work at Kingston Auction house a week ago and has really enjoyed the job. She likes the people and working in a fast pace. We see her sitting in her office talking to Aria on the phone. "So, have you made up your mind about Calistoga?" Aria asks her. "I don't know. I keep thinking it's a bad idea but then I think well what's the big deal? It's not like we haven't already slept together," she tells her sister. "I think you should go… on Saturday," she tries to convince her. "On Saturday, why? Aria, you promised no surprise party," she says getting upset with her sister. Aria then thinks of a good excuse. "It's not what you think. It's Hanna. She bought you a present," she tries to convince her of the lie. "Hanna doesn't give presents, she gives cards three days late," Spencer argues. "Not this year. Surprise. And she really wants to give it to you on Friday. So, could you please just ask Toby about leaving on Saturday instead?" We then see Aria at the manor You have no idea how much Hanna has put herself through. She is walking to the printer in the hallway and grabbing the stuff she printed. "You have no idea how much Hanna has put herself through. She even…" Aria cuts herself off when she looks at the first paper on top of her stuff. It's the ad from Indeed that says, 'Psychics Wanted'. "She even got a job and everything," she adds. "Ok, I'll ask, if I decide to go. So what kind of job did Hanna get?" she asks out of curiosity. "Don't know. Got to go. Ciao," Aria says rushing to get off the phone with her.

Emily Fields was at school most of the day, but she was meeting up with her brother for lunch. She keeps blowing him off and she really wants to see him. As she's sitting at a local diner she's playing on her phone while waiting. When Caleb Rivers, Emily's foster brother walks in she stands up to give him a hug. "It's good to see you," she says. "It feels like ages," he adds, looking at the sister he hasn't seen in weeks. "It's like looking at a ghost. You keep blowing me off, for what reason may I ask?" he asks her. She looks at him, knowing she can't give a full reason why, she touches the table when she sees him leaning in. 'It better not be something stupid either,' she hears him think. "I've just been busy. Hanna moved back in," she tells him. "Things have just been busy," she adds. A waitress walks up to the table and takes their drink orders. "So why didn't you bring Piper? I would have loved to see her," she tells him. "She was busy. Maybe next time," he tells her. "Tell me, when am I going to meet this family of yours?" he asks. "It's been, what, two years since you found them?" he asks her. "Still haven't met these sisters," he adds. She looks at him, she's been afraid to combine both families. Especially now that she's a witch, she doesn't know if it'll be safe or not. "Well, we're throwing a surprise party for Spencer this weekend, you should come," she tells him. "I want you to meet them there," she informs him of her new plan. "Sounds like a good plan," he tells her. "I'll text you the details," she tells him.

We then see Hanna standing by a little table near the bar area of the Radley Restaurant that's located in the hotel. She's dressed in a pink costume, similar to the 'I Dream of Jeannie'. She's holding a woman's hands, trying to get a vision so she can earn her tips. "So, do you see anything yet?" the woman asks her. Hanna is concentrating. "I see you sitting with a man at a single table somewhere. You're getting along pretty well, he's into you," she then sees something else. "It's a single's mixer," she says, "here at the restaurant." The woman gets mad, she thinks Hanna is playing her. "I don't see any signs of one, why I would do that?" she asks. "I don't know, maybe your lonely," she tells her. "You're a fraud, that's what you are. I've never been so insulted in my life. I want my $20 back," the woman says reaching in the jar of money Hanna has in front of her, but Hanna grabs it off the table. "No way. I saw you, you know I saw you," she begins to say as the woman decides to walk away. "Hey, if you want me to lie next time just say so," she tells her. Aria walks up to Hanna. "Hanna!" she says and notices her sister. "Aria! I am so busted, aren't I?" she tells her. "Are you out of your mind, again?" Aria questions her sister about what's going on. "No, I'm The Amazing Hanna," she informs her. "This is not funny. Our powers are supposed to be a secret, not a marketable job skill," Aria tells her. "Relax. They didn't hire me because they think I'm a witch, they hired me because they think I'm a psychic," Hanna tells her. "Hair splitting. You know you can't use your powers for personal gain, not without consequences," Aria says. "No, but it's for Spencer, not for me, it's to help pay for the concert tickets, it's completely selfless. Besides, this is the last place anyone would expect to find a real psychic, believe me," she begins to try to convince her sister. Mark Chan walks up to Hanna and Aria. "Which one of you is the psychic?" Aria is upset. "She is," she tells him. "Oh, I am." Hanna says at almost the same time. "You can see me? Both of you?" he asks them. "Of course, we can see you, now back off," Aria says with a little attitude. "Oh, thank God. I've tried communicating with every psychic in the city. You were my last chance," he says as Ashley walks up to Hanna. "Hanna, what are you doing? You've got customers waiting," she says pointing out two people waiting nearby. "Ok, listen to me, you're the only ones that can help me," Mark tells them. "Excuse us, we are trying to have an argument here," Aria tells Mark. Ashley looks at Aria, "Who are you?" she asks her. "Uh, she's just leaving. Bye. Go now," Hanna says almost literally trying to push Aria out of the restaurant herself. Aria walks out, and Mark follows her. "Wait, I need your help," he tells her. "Yeah, talk to the psychic," Aria walks outside. "Please, I'm begging you, I was murdered last night, I can prove it," he tells her as he follows her outside. "Stop harassing me, dude," she tells him as she stops on the side walk. "Please, I'm desperate, you have to help me," he begs. "Leave me alone or I'll call the police," Aria says as a woman walks by. "Can you believe this guy?" she asks her, the woman looks at her strangely as she passes by. "All you have to do is come with me to Chinatown and see for yourself," she's beginning to get upset with him. "Alright, that's it. Look, either back off or… look out!" she says as someone on a bike ride straight through him. "Now do you believe me?" he asks her. "Oh My God. I can see you but no one else can?" she asks him. "I'm dead, I'm a ghost," he tells her.

Spencer is walking into Quake, the restaurant that Emily works at. She's looking for Toby, she sees him sitting at a table with a beautiful woman, with a dark complexion. She walks over to them. "Hi," she says getting their attention. "Spencer," he says noticing her. "Um, I tried to call the station after I tried your cell, they said that you would probably be here," she looks at the woman. "Hi," she tells her. She looks back at her. "Hi," she tells her back. "Oh, Spencer, this is, um…" he begins to tell her but Yvonne interrupts. "Yvonne. Yvonne Cavanaugh. Nice to meet you," she says to Spencer. Making her pissed off at Toby. "Cavanaugh. She wouldn't be some long lost relative, would she?" she asks with an attitude. "No, actually, I'm his wife," she says with a know it all attitude towards Spencer. She storms off Toby stands up and follows her, trying to stop her. "Ex-wife. Spencer, wait, I can explain," he tries to tell her. "Don't bother," she tells him. "It's not what you think…" Toby says. Spencer notices a food trolley as she walks ahead of it, she uses her power and moves it in front of Toby. He trips over it and lands on the floor.

We are in Chinatown with Aria and Mark, they are walking down an alley. She gave into helping him after realizing he was dead and no one else could see him. "Thanks for helping me," he tells her. "When you wouldn't leave my doorstep, you didn't leave me much of a choice. Maybe this isn't such a good idea," she begins to say. "Please, I don't have much time. Somebody has to find my body before it's too late," he says. "Too late for what?" she asks him. "It's a Chinese myth. At least I always thought it was a myth. It's called Thowhoi, when the gates of hell open. We're almost there," he tells her trying to lead her to where his body is. "The gates of hell? I don't understand," she says. "If the gatekeeper, Yama, catches my soul before my body's properly buried, he'll take me to hell forever," he tells her about the story he's heard so much about in his life. "But you said you were murdered. How can…?" she begins to ask, but he interrupts her. "Yama doesn't care about good or evil. He just wants souls. I should've listened to my mother," he says and stops walking. Aria sees Mark's burnt body. She gasps and covers her eyes. "Is that you?" she asks. Yama appears in the distance. He's on a horse which is galloping straight towards them. "Yama!" Mark exclaims. "Yama? Run." She tells him. "It's too late. You better go. Run!" Aria freaks out and freezes Yama and Mark wants to know why. "What happened?" he asks her. "I'm a good witch, remember?" She says. "But how?" he asks. "I don't know. I panic, I put up both my hands and bad things tend to freeze. "For how long?" he wants to know. "Not very, let's go," she says as they run down the alley and Yama unfreezes. Yama's eyes glow bright green.

Back at the Manor, Hanna's standing outside the bathroom door talking to Spencer. "Spencer, you can't do this, Aria's going to be crushed," she says just as Aria walks in. "I'm going to be crushed?" Aria asks as Spencer comes out of the bathroom wearing only a towel. Emily walks into the hall, trying to see what's going on with her sisters. "The surprise party is off," Spencer informs her sister that she knows of the party. "What party?" Aria asks. "She's onto us. The restaurant called the house while we were out," she tells them. "Oh. Is that why you were so upset earlier?" Emily ask, remembering that Spencer seemed upset when she came home. "Let's just say it hasn't been a great day," she tells her sisters. "Does it have anything to do with why Toby's been calling all night?" Hanna asks as Mark walks into the hall. "Aria, where'd you say today's paper was?" he asks her. "Hey, I'm practically naked here," she tells him. Mark looks away. "Oops, sorry," he says. "What's the drunk from the hotel doing here?" Hanna asks her. "My name's Mark and I'm not a drunk," he informs her. "He's a ghost," Aria confirms this. "Excuse me, a what?" Emily asks, freaking out a little. "A ghost. He was murdered, and he obviously needs our help. Why else would we be able to see him?" Hanna covers Spencer with her jacket. "Well, he can see us, that's for sure," she says trying to be helpful. "Hey!" "Of all the days to be a dead man," Mark mumbles to himself. "Are you sure this guy really a ghost?" Hanna asks. Aria looks around her and grabs a pen from a nearby table and throws it at Mark is passes right through him. "Positive," she says making her point.

A little while later, Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily are in the kitchen. Hanna and Spencer are still a little skeptical about helping Mark and Emily is trying to get used to the fact that she can now she ghost as well. "So how do we know that the guy doesn't really belong in hell?" Hanna asks. "Because we can see him. He's one of the innocents we have to protect," Aria tells them. "Protect from what? He's dead," Spencer says trying to make a point. "All we have to do is get Mark's family to give him a proper burial and then he can move on to whatever it is he moves onto," she lets them know what he told her about earlier. "Ok, so call the police and let them know where the body is," Emily says making a point. "I already did. I just want to give them a little time to notify Mark's mom before I go talk to her," Aria lets them know of her plan. "Talk to her? And tell her what? That you're a witch in touch with the ghost of her dead son?" Emily says tries to throw a wrench in her plan. "No, I'm just going to try and get her to have a funeral as soon as possible before Yama gets Mark's spirit," she says as Hanna's cell phone goes off and she answers it. "Hello? Oh, hi, I can't really talk right now. It's important? Ok, I'll be at the hotel in a little while. Bye," she hangs up her phone and looks at her sister's. "That was my new boss calling. I got to run," she then leaves the house. Spencer looks at Aria. "Um, ok, so, so when you called the police you didn't talk to Toby, did you?" she asks her sister. "No, it was anonymous. Why, did you decide to not go away with him?" Aria asks. "Actually, I decided to go until I went to tell him and found him having dinner with his ex-wife," the girls freak out that this revelation. "His what?" Emily asks. "Yeah, I mean, you would think he would've remembered to reveal that little fact before we started hooking up," she tells them. "Well, what did he say? Why didn't he tell you?" Emily asks trying to know more. "I don't know, I didn't really hang around long enough to ask," she says as Mark pokes his head through the door. "How's it going in there?" The girls jump from him scaring them. "Sorry," he apologizes. "Don't these guys knock?" Spencer asks.

Hanna walks into the Radley and straight up to Ashley who is waiting on her. She needs Hanna to impress this one person who is staying at the hotel. "Look, the guy staying in the grand suite. He could be a sultan, I'm not sure, anyway, that's why I called. Make this bozo's night, read his future, tell him something good and he'll extend his stay, guaranteed," Ashley says trying to get Hanna to do something good. "Look, like I said, I don't always know when it's going to work," she tells her as they walk to a table. "I have the most confidence in you, Hanna, I don't know how you do it. Keep it up and you'll always have work here," she tells her. A man sitting at a table finishes his drink and walks off without his wallet. Hanna sees it and calls out to him. "Uh, excuse me, sir, you forgot you're…" She picks up the wallet and has a premonition. In the premonition, the man walks out of a building and down some stairs. He walks onto the road and drops his suitcase. He bends down to pick it up and a car heads straight for him and the car hits him. The premonition ends. Ashley looks at her, "Are you ok, what's the matter?" she asks. "Nothing, I, uh, nothing," Hanna tells her.

Back at the manor, in the living room. Mark is trying to turn on the TV, but his finger passes straight through the buttons. Aria walks in carrying some blankets. "It's still new to me. I keep forgetting I'm…Are those for me?" he asks noticing the blankets. "Yeah, uh, stupid question… do ghosts sleep?" she asks. "I don't even get cold anymore," he tells her. "Sorry," she apologizes for herself. "It's ok, It's the thought that counts. I guess it's finally sinking in, what's really happened, what I've lost. Sucking down a bucket of oysters at the wharf, playing basketball with my friends, coming home and hearing my mother's voice on the machine nagging me because I haven't married a nice Chinese girl," he says getting a little emotional. "Your mom means a lot to you, huh?" He walks to couch and sits down. "She's a great friend…was," he begins to say. "It was just me and her after my father died. Taught me everything I know. Especially how to cook. My mom was a great cook," Aria walks towards him, putting the blankets down. "My grams taught me and Hanna how to cook, I love food" she begins to tell him. "Ever make a Peking duck?" he asks, she looks at him. "I love Peking duck, but I don't know how to make it, you?" she asks. "Piece of cake. Mom told me I could've been a great chef if I hasn't sold out to the Molecular Biology program at UPenn," he tells her. "So, you can make a Peking duck and clone DNA?" she asks. "The duck's harder," he tells her making them both laughs. "What do you think about art?" she asks him, wanting to know his opinion on it. "I love it, I really love starry night from van Gogh, one of my favorites," he tells her. "What about you?" he asks her. "It's one of mine as well," she begins to say, "do you follow Alyssa Monks? Her work is amazing," she asks him. "I love her work, she has some gorgeous pieces," he tells her. "I can talk about art all night long," she tells him. "Yeah? Well, I can talk about it forever," They both laugh again.

The next morning Hanna realized that she need to warn the guy she had the vision of, so she found out what room he was in and was waiting for him in the hallway, impatiently. Mr. Corey, the man who left his wallet behind walks around the corner. She looks at him. "Oh, Mr. Corey, thank goodness. Uh, I need to talk to you," she tells him, trying to get his attention. "Do you? Me? Hey, you're that psychic, right?" he asks her. "Yeah, right, look…" she says not knowing how to tell him about what she saw. "Is that how you know my name?" he asks her. "No, uh, yes… Did you get the note I left you?" she asks him. "The note warning me not to go outside? That was you? Do you get enjoyment out of trying to scare people or is that how you drum up business?" he asks her, getting annoyed by her. "What? You don't understand, I…" she doesn't know what to say. "It's not what you think. Look, here, when I picked up your wallet…" before she can tell him anything else he jumps in. "You stole my wallet?" he asks her, she remembers that she left it with the note in the lost and found. "I didn't steal your wallet, I turned into lost and found, which you must have gotten because you said you read my note," she says trying to make her point. "I just need you to listen to me," she says following him towards the elevator. "I don't know what you want but stay away from me, you understand," he says as he walks into the elevator. "But you're going to die! Uh, that didn't come out right. Look, I can't tell you how I know this, but I swear if you go outside, you're going to get run over by a green… wait, you don't have your briefcase. That's good, that's really good. It doesn't happen without your briefcase," she says holding the doors open and telling him. "Leave me alone, or I'm going to call hotel security," he says again, trying to get to understand what he's telling her.

Kingston's Auction house. Spencer walks into her office and notices a bunch of flowers sitting on her desk. She walks over and smells them. Toby is standing in the corner of the room. He closes the door and Spencer looks up. "Hi," he tells her. "You of all people should know that bribery is a crime," she tells him and turns around. "Apologizing isn't, is it?" he begins to say. "Spencer, I'm sorry I didn't tell you I was married before, I should have. I was going to," he wants to tell her everything now. "Really? When? Before or after the doors of our adjoining rooms swung open this weekend?" She says. "Ok, I deserved that," he agrees with her a little. "I don't understand how you couldn't find the time to tell me. The nights we've spent together, the dinners. I was ready to start this again. Unless you really were trying to hide it from me," she looks at him. "Come on, Spencer, you know me better than that," he tries to get her to listen to him. "Do I?" she asks him. "Spencer, it was an innocent dinner, that's all. I've got an ex-wife and I don't hate her, is that so horrible?" he is trying to make her understand. "No, no, it's not. But not being honest, not telling me up front is," she lets him know how she feels. "Which I've already apologized for. Why are you trying to turn this into something it's not? What's really bugging you, Spencer? Looks like I'm not the only one trying to hide a secret," he tells her and leaves the room.

We then see Aria and Mark outside of his mother's house, they are standing on the porch and Aria rings the doorbell. She looks at Mark unsure about if his plan will really work. "Are you sure this is going to work?" she asks him, he looks at her. "If you speak her language she'll trust you," he says just as his mother, Mrs. Chan opens the door and walks outside. "Can I help you?" she asks Aria. "Hello," Mark says in Chinese. Aria looks at Mrs. Chan and repeats what he says in Chinese. "My name's Aria," he says and again she repeats what he says in Chinese to his mother. "I need to talk to you," he says, she repeats looking back from him to her. Mrs. Chan looks at Aria. "You speak Chinese?" she asks in Chinese making Aria look back at him. "Berlitz, it's about Mark," he says, and Aria repeats it back in Chinese. "You know where he is?" she asks in Chinese. "She asked if you know where I am," he tells her in English. Aria looks at Mrs. Chan. "You- you don't?" she asks. "No, and I'm worried sick. I haven't heard from him since his birthday," she tells Aria worried about her son. "The police haven't notified her yet?" Mark asks Aria. "How's that possible… I mean, that he hasn't called yet?" Aria asks her. "I don't know, it's not like him. When did you last see him?" she asks her, wanting to know why this girl is standing on her porch. "Um, well…" she wants to tell her but doesn't want to hurt her feelings. "Aria, you have to tell her. You have to tell her where my body is, so she can bury me," he reminds her, but she can't do this to his mother. "I can't... err, I can't remember the last time actually but if I see him or hear from him I-I'll let you know," Aria says. "Thank you, thank you," Mrs. Chan says as Aria walks down the steps and Mrs. Chan goes back inside. "You can't walk away, Aria, you have to tell her. Mom, no," he says running towards the house and runs smack straight into the door. "What happened?" Aria asks when she sees what happened. "She's got the house protected against ghosts. All the Chinese fairytales she told me growing up were true. And I'm going to burn in hell," Mark says scared for his life, or more in depth, his afterlife. He needs Aria and her sister's help, so he can move on.

Back at the house, Spencer is in the kitchen cleaning, Hanna walks into the kitchen. She notices Spencer cleaning and she knows when Spencer is cleaning, it means that she's having trouble with Toby. "Man trouble?" she asks her sister. "I don't want to talk about it. By the way, where were you last night?" she asks her sister. Hanna grabs a sponge and starts cleaning off the stovetop. "Something wrong?" Spencer stops and looks at her. "I don't want to talk to about it," she says. "Ok, you never clean and you'll talk about anything. What's up?" Spencer asks her wanting to know why her sister is upset. "Where's Emily?" Hanna ask trying to change the subject. "She's upstairs working on a paper," Hanna stops cleaning and looks at her sister. "It's nothing, ok," Hanna says and tries to start scrubbing the counter, Spencer stops her. "Hanna," she says and gets her to talk. She puts down the sponge and looks at her sister. "Ok, I had a premonition, a really bad one too. I saw a guy getting run over by a pink Cadillac," she tells her what she saw. "A pink Cadillac?" Spencer asks. "I know it sounds ridiculous but it's true, I saw it and I don't know what to do about it," she asks her sister for advice. "Did you warn him?" Spencer looks at her, wanting to know if she's tried helping him yet. "I tried, he thought I was out of my mind, thought I was stalking him or something. I mean, how do you tell a complete stranger that you know they're going to die?" she asks. "Where is he now?" Spencer wants to help her sister. "The Radley Hotel," Hanna answers. "What were you doing there?" Spencer asks wanting to know more. "I knew you were going to ask that. I wanted to get you a great birthday present to make up for all those cards, so I got a job at the hotel as their lounge psychic. Go ahead, yell at me," she tells her sister, who isn't getting upset but more concerned for her sister. "Hanna, you have to save him, you can't let him out of your sight," she lets her know about how she feels. "Don't worry, I waited until he went to sleep and then I broke a key off in his door to lock him in. The hotel has old fashion locks, it was easy. He's safe until morning," she informs her, and watches Spencer continue cleaning. "Hey, wait, that's it? You're not going to get mad at me?" she thought wrong about Spencer tonight. "You were trying to do something good. And now you're going get to do something wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better birthday present than that," Spencer says and goes in for a hug. When they break apart, Emily walks into the kitchen. "What's with the love fest?" she asks them, Hanna grabs her into the hug. "Hey…" Emily squeals as Aria and Mark walk in from the front door and head to the living room. "Hey, guys, you have to see this," Aria begins to say. "They found my body," he tells them. Aria turns on the TV and the girls walk in and watch the news. An older male reporter is telling the story. "Although police report that the body was burned beyond recognition…" he says through the tv. "It's finally over," Mark says. "Personal affects found at the scene, preliminarily identify him as Tony Wong, head of the Chinatown triad," the reporter finishes off, while a picture of Tony Wong pops on the screen. "That can't be, that's the guy who killed me," he tells them. Hanna then has a vision of Tony loading bullets into a gun. "Wait, I see him. Wong, he's still alive," she tells them what she sees. "Of course, he's still alive, that's me they found," he tells the girls. "Can you see where he is now?" Emily asks her sister. "I see a sign. Uh, quick, give me a pen," the girls look around for one when their sister asks for it. Aria grabs one from a nearby table and hands it to Hanna, who starts drawing something on the palm of her hand. "I don't understand why Wong would want to kill me. I never did anything to him," Mark says. Spencer noticed a few similarities between them. "Yeah, but you look a lot like him. Maybe he used you to fake his own death," Spencer tells him. Hanna holds up her palm where she has drawn two Chinese symbols. "What does this mean?" she has Mark, he looks it over. "Warhai Imports. It's a warehouse over in Chinatown," he tells her.

Aria and Mark are in Chinatown. They walk into a warehouse, looking for Tony. Aria is holding a newspaper. Mark's a little worried. "I don't know about this, Aria, I think it's too dangerous," he tells her. "It's your only chance," she begins to tell him. "Aria listen to me. You don't want to go up there. Those men pulled the trigger on me without even thinking. They'll kill you," he tells her. "I can freeze things, remember?" she questions him. "But there's thugs in there," he says as they walk up some stairs. "Keep talking," she says trying to psych herself up a little. "With guns," he adds. "Even better," she says when they walk up to the door where Tony and his men are standing. "Wait, wait, wait," Mark says stopping her for a second noticing the same amulet his mother has on her door. "They've got an amulet on the door, can't go in," he tells her, and she unhooks it and drops it on the floor. "Never mind. Scared?" He says, checking her emotions. "Terrified. Trust me, that's a good thing," she says as they barge into the room and she freezes Tony and his thugs. "Ok, phew. We have to hurry," she says as Aria walks up to Tony and places the newspaper with the headline about him being dead into his hands. She then pulls out her cell phone and backs up to take a picture of him holding it. "Say cheese," she takes the picture and they unfreeze. "Run!" Mark says. They run outside and Tony and his gang follow. Mark and Aria jump into the car and drive off. Tony writes down the car's license plate number.

Outside the police station, Aria walks out of the station and over to Mark, who is standing beside her car. She looks at him and tells him what she did. "Ok, all set. I snuck the photograph into Toby's office mail," she tells him. "My after life's in the hands of a cop named Toby," Mark says. "He's an inspector and he's very good, Mark. After he sees Wong is alive, he'll know exactly what to do," she informs him of the plan to help him. "Bust Wong maybe, but that doesn't help me. They won't have any way of identifying the body as mine," he has some concerns. "I put your name in with the picture. Toby will get dental records or something and match it up. All we have to do is keep Yama away from you until then," she lets him know. "I don't know what to say," he begins to have a good feeling about this plan. "Don't say anything. I made you a promise, didn't I?" Aria tells him and looks at him. "Do I have to open the door for you?" she asks when Toby sees Aria and walks towards her. "As much as I like you, I have no intention of joining you," she adds. "Talking to yourself, huh?" Aria turns around and looks at Toby, she quickly thinks of what to say. "Toby, hi. Yeah, um, it's an old habit, I do it all the time," Aria tells him, he looks at her. "My mom used to call it interesting conversations with an interesting person," he says. "Yeah, interesting," she says looking at Mark. "Very," he says but Toby can't hear or see him. "Not that it's not a pleasure but what are you doing here?" he asks her. She looks at him. "Oh, nothing, you know, just passing by," she tells him. "Spencer tell you what's going on?" he asks her, she looks at him. "No. Well, yeah, I mean, sort of. Kind of screwed up, huh?" she asks him. "Oh, that Toby," Mark says realizing who he is after last night's conversation between the sisters. "Yeah…I mean, yeah, um, hmm, just give her some space, let her work it through," she says. "Yeah, ok," Toby says hugging her, she hugs him back. Even though Spencer and Toby dated, she's known him all her life and she loves him a lot. "Thanks. Take care," he adds. "You too," she says letting him go and he walks away. Aria turns to Mark. "What?" she asks him, noticing his smile. "You're a really sweet person, you know that? No, I mean that. I want to take you somewhere. Something I want to do for you," he tells her.

Back at the Hotel, Hanna is waiting by the elevators. Mr. Corey walks out of one. She rushes by his side as he's walking. "Oh, Mr. Corey," she tries to get his attention. "Stay away," he tells her. She doesn't give up. She's determined to help him, even if he doesn't want it. "Please you have to believe me," she tries begging him a little to listen to her. "You locked me in my room, didn't you?" he ask her. "Just for your protection," she begins to tell him. "What do you want? Money? Is that what this is? A shake down?" he says. She follows him, trying to convince him to listen to her. "No, I am trying to save your life for God's sake, listen to me," she tells him. "You're crazy," he says walking towards the door. "If you walk out that door, you're a dead man," she yells to him. "Call security," he tells the doorman as he exits the hotel and down the stairs just like in Hanna's premonition. "Watch out!" she screams as she chases after him. He drops his briefcase and a car head straight for him. "Mr. Corey!" Hanna says running on the road to push him out of the way. The car beeps his horn and drives past them. Hanna stands up dusting herself off. "That'll be $20. Tip not included," she tells him.

Aria and Mark walk inside of Mark's apartment. It's a nice and cozy one bedroom, looking like a basic clean man cave. It's covered with beautiful artwork as well. "This is your place? It's beautiful," she tells him as she looks at the pictures on his walls. "Thanks," he tells her. Aria picks up a book. It's one she's heard of. "Camus. I'm impressed," she tells him. "I wish I had a chance to finish it. Of course, I can say that about almost everything, I guess," he says as Aria opens it up and starts reading an excerpt from the book. "I love this world is a dead world, and always there comes an hour where on is weary of prisons and all one craves for is a warm face, the warmth and wonder of a loving heart." She quotes the book and looks at him. "I like that part," he says. "Me, too."

"Listen, if your cop friend comes through, maybe I'll get a chance to ask Camus himself how it turns out. I want you to reach for something," he says pointing to a small box sitting on top of a bookshelf. Aria reaches up and takes it off the shelf. "Open it," she listens to him and takes the top off the box. They sit down on the couch and Aria opens the box. She pulls out some letters written in Chinese. "What are they?" she asks. "My grandfather is a famous Chinese poet. My dad translated them when I was born. They've been stories told in my family for decades. They're yours," he tells her, she looks at him. "But they belong in your family," Aria doesn't want to take something so meaningful but looks through them. They're wonderful words, telling good stories about China and other beautiful things. "I want you to have them. For everything you've done for me. I just ask one favor, read them at your sisters surprise birthday party," he says but Aria tells him. "Spencer doesn't want a party," she informs him of her choice. "Birthdays are important. I know, I walked out of my last one and it never occurred to me that I wouldn't get another. She may not know it, but she needs to celebrate her birthday, we all do. Don't take it for granted," he says regretting his last moments on earth. He should've taken more time and listened to his mother.

We're at the Manor in Spencer's bedroom. She's browsing through the channels on the TV as Hanna walks in. "Spencer, what are you doing?" Hanna ask her sister, watching her. "Just browsing through the channels," Spencer tells her. "You don't browse, you never browse," she says. "Well, I do now. Are you ok? You look…" Spencer says looking at her sister, distracting herself away from the TV. "Awful? I know. I feel fine," Hanna tells her, completing her sentence. "Did you warn that guy?" she asks her sister, wanting to know if she was able to help. "I did better than that. I saved that guy. And it was great. I knew doing it would be good for him, but I had no idea what a rush it would be for me. I felt so good and not just about myself, but about everything. That even in my own little way I could make a difference. Can you believe it's me saying this?" Hanna asks her. "What more can I say? It's been a week full of surprises," she tells her sister. "Yeah, speaking of surprises. What are you going to do about Toby?" Hanna asks wondering about her sister and her relationship with her old boyfriend. "I don't know. Toby kept something from me, but the truth is I keep something from him every day. And it's not like I'll ever be able to tell him about our secret, so what's the point?" she asks her. Hanna looks at her sister, trying to help figure out the right words to say. "We're the Charmed Ones, Spencer, not the Doomed Ones. We have lives just like everyone else. Call him, go see him, do something. Give to get, that's the secret of life, not our powers," Hanna says making a good point.

Downstairs in the Manor Aria and Mark walk into the foyer. "You ok?" she asks him. "I was just thinking, walking under the stars, what's under the stars, what's really up there, what's waiting for me," he says feeling a little nervous. "I don't know. Maybe you can give me a hint when you get there," she looks at him, with a smile. "I don't want this night to ever end. I'm not ready to say goodbye, Aria," she holds her hand near his face. "Close your eyes. Pretend you can feel my hand on your skin, that my touch gives you comfort," she tells him. He's a little reluctant at first. "No…" he begins to say. She looks at him with love in her eyes. "Just close your eyes," she says. They move their lips together as close as they can so it's like they're kissing without touching. They pull apart. "Where were you my whole life?" he asks her with love in his voice. When suddenly the front door flies open and two of Tony's men run in. They grab Aria and carry her outside. "No! Aria! Somebody help!" Mark screams in the house. Spencer, Hanna and Emily run down the stairs. "What's wrong, what happened?" Emily asks him. "They took her. Wong's men took Aria," he tells them. "Do you know where they took her?" He shakes his head, Hanna heads towards the house phone. "I'm calling 911," she adds. Spencer looks at her. "No, do it from the car, let's go. We've got to find her," Spencer says. "Even if it takes all night," Mark says as they all run outside to Spencer's car.

At the warehouse, Tony, his gang and Aria are there. Aria is tied up in a chair. Tony is loading bullets into his gun. He walks around in front of Aria while talking to her. "The first time I saw you I thought you were a ghost," he says. "These ropes are really tight, if you just untie my hands," she says and then looks at him. "Why did you kill Mark?" she asks wanting to know what happened. "I needed his identity," he says grabbing her hair. "Who else knows I'm alive? I had plans. I had a boat ready to take me to Hong Kong. I had a whole new life and you screwed it up," he tells her, getting mad.

At the police station cops are walking around doing different police duties. Toby sits down as his desk just as someone puts an envelope on his desk. "Thanks," he says and then opens the envelope and pulls out the photo that Aria took of Tony Wong.

Back the warehouse. Spencer, Emily, and Hanna run in. Mark runs down the stairs, he's trying to warn them of what he saw. "Quick, they have her upstairs," he says and one of the thugs comes out of the room with a gun. "Look out!" Mark yells to warn them. Spencer uses her power and the guy lands into a pile of boxes next to the steps. In the room with Tony, we see him looking at his men. "I'll take her. You shoot anyone that comes through that door," he tells them as he unties Aria's hands. Her sisters walk in the room. Spencer uses her power on the men, pushing them to side of the room to knock them out. Tony shoots at them and Aria freezes Tony and the bullet in mid-air. "Thanks sis," Spencer says as Emily runs over to finish untying Aria. "How long does this last again?" Mark asks, trying to rush them a little. "Not very," she says as Tony unfreezes and the bullet hits a statue. "Who are you people?" he asks as Spencer uses her power and Tony falls down the stairs. Tony then runs outside as the police and Toby pull up. "Police! Freeze!" he says as he aims his gun at Tony. Tony fires his gun and Toby shoots him. Spencer, Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Mark walk out onto the balcony to see what's going on. "I've never seen anybody killed before," Aria says. "Noel," Spencer says. "Javna," Hanna says. "The triplets," Emily says. "I meant human," she says. "Come on, let's get out here before Toby sees us," Spencer says. Tony's spirit floats out of his body. Spencer, Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Mark run down, and alley and Tony follows him. They stop. "Wong," Mark says getting his attention. HE looks at him, pissed off. "But you're dead," he says. "Yeah, so are you," Mark says just as Yama appears on his horse and holding a spear. Aria looks at Mark. "Mark, I think you should get out of here," she says but he just grabs Tony. "Make a wish, you bastard," he says pushing Tony into Yama's spear. The spear sucks him up. Yama moves closer to Mark. Aria stands in front of him. "No, you can't take him. He's a good man, he doesn't belong with you," she says. Yama hesitates and then disappears.

The girls are standing at the cemetery, watching Mark's funeral. He's there watching his mother. The minister starts the service. "We are here to celebrate the joy of Mark's life and the redemption of his spiritual journey," he begins. Mark walks by his mother and begins to talk to her. "All those stories, all those legends you taught me, you saved my soul, mom. You were right," he finishes telling his mother and then walks over to Spencer, Aria, Emily & Hanna. "Take it from me, Spencer, don't miss your birthday. Not any of them, they're precious," he tells her. "I won't," she tells him. Mark walks in front of Aria and looks at her. "I wish…" he begins to say. "I know, me too," she says, and he holds his hand close to her face. "I'm going to miss you, Aria," he says as they notice a man appearing in the distance. "Who's that man?" Hanna asks. "My dad," Mark says turning around and smiling. "I guess this really is goodbye," Mark walks over to his dad and they disappear together. Aria's crying. "Leave it to me to me to fall for a dead guy," she tells them. "Hey, it's an improvement. At least he wasn't a warlock," Hanna tells her. "Yeah," she agrees.

The girls are standing in front of the manor. Spencer realizes something and begins to tell her sister's something. "You know what? I've changed my mind. Maybe I should have a party after all," she tells them. Emily looks at her. "Are you serious?" she asks her sister. "Yeah, why not? I mean, Mark is right," she says as they walk into the house. "Well, Spencer, I'm glad you said that because…" she says as they walk into the living room and there stands a room full of people. "Surprise!" Everyone says when they walk in. "Did I getcha? I gotcha," Aria says excited she surprised her sister. "Yeah, you got me," Spencer says. "We did it," Emily tells her. "And an actual present too. It's paid for," she says handing Spencer a box. "I hope you like it, we all went it for it" Hanna tells her as she opens it up and notices a few concert tickets for a show she wanted to see in New York. "Thanks, you guys, I'm speechless," she tells them. They all hug. Spencer sees Toby standing across the room. They smile at each other and she knows what she needs to do.

With two drinks in her hand Spencer walks over to Toby and hands him one. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow, it seems like it's going to be fun," she tells him. "I'm glad you said yes, for a second I thought…" he begins to say. "I'm sorry for not telling you," he says. "I'm sorry," she says. He takes her drink and places it on a table near them. "I've been dying to do this since you walked in," he says pulling her closer to him and kissing her, she kisses him back. "I'm glad you did that," she tells him.

Emily walks up to Caleb when he walks into the house, she sees him holding a gift box. "You didn't have to get anything," she tells him. "I would have felt weird coming empty handed," he tells her. "It's a candle," he adds. "Cool," she takes the box and places it with the other gifts on a nearby table. Emily walks towards Aria and Spencer, she looks around for Hanna. "You guys seen Hanna?" she ask them. "Last I saw of her she was heading upstairs with Bryan from the other night," Aria tells her sisters. "Well, Spencer, Aria. I like for you to meet Caleb, my brother," she tells them. "You…You're the brother? We've heard so much about you," Spencer says. "It's nice to finally meet you," he shakes their hands. "There's a gift, I felt weird if I didn't have one," he informs her. "Well, thank you," she says. "Welcome to the family, Caleb," Aria says and goes in for a hug. "I mean, technically, you are family," Spencer looks at him, when they realize that. "I'll introduce you to Hanna next time," Emily says as they enjoy their time together.
