Magnus had managed to get Cleo to their room without any sudden breakdowns and outbursts of anger, however the second the door closed he knew that it would be a long night. Turning around a vase went whipping past his face and crashing into the wall right next to him.

"How could you! When were you planning on telling me that I was going to have to bear you a child?"

Magnus walked over to her as fast as he could and put his arm around her waist and turned her so that her back was to him. Putting his hand over her mouth to stop any protests she may have he leaned down and whispered in her ear.

"You will keep your voice down, it would not do well for either of us to have the guards go back to my father and tell him that you are unhappy with this arrangement. Now I will let you go if you can promise not to start yelling and throwing objects again. Are we understood?"

Magnus had no idea what type of response he was going to get from her, but a curt nod told him she would try to behave. He slowly loosened his arm that was around his waist and felt the warmth leave his stomach only for it to move up his face. The sound of the slap was almost delayed as it echoed throughout the room.

"How dare you tell him that I would have a child with you, and how dare you tell me to shut my mouth" Cleo said in an angry whisper.

"You're right, I had no right to tell him that without consulting you first, but you played the part perfectly." Magnus put his hand on the small of her back and led her to the bed a gave a soft push on her shoulders so that she would sit. She looked up at him with an incredulous look on her face.

"Played the part. Did you not hear what he said if I'm not pregnant in the next 3 months than he will take me, by force. Do you understand what that means for me? Do you even care?"

"Cleo..." Magnus moved to put his hand on her shoulder only for her to slap it away.

"Of course you don't, you don't lose anything by me being taken." Cleo crossed her arms across her chest and sat there looking like a spoiled brat that hadn't gotten their way. Of course Magnus knew it was more that that.

"You honestly believe me to be heartless enough not to care that my father would force himself on you. I am no monster, and you will never express your assumption that I am. If you would do as I told you and keep your mouth shut I would tell you my plan that doesn't include you being raped." Magnus hadn't meant to blow up at the girl, but even the thought of him being evil enough to let his father take her away made his insides clench in disgust.

He looked down at her and could feel his anger subsiding. His small outburst had tired him out especially with everything that had been going on that night. He practically threw himself down on the bed and put his arm over his eyes as he laid back next to Cleo letting out an exasperated sigh.

"I'm sorry that I said that about you"

Magnus slowly moved his arm from his eyes to peek out at the absolutely insane Princess before him.

"Did you not hours ago claim that I had too many personalities, perhaps you should self-diagnose."

Magnus heard a harsh chuckle come from the side of him.

"Well aren't you so clever as to use my own words against me."

"Absolutely. If a man can not identify wise words, his life will surely have no meaning" Magnus had to admit if only to himself that he was enjoying the banter that he and Cleo shared.

"That's quite deep. Where did you find that."

"Someone used to say it to me." Magnus didn't want to bring up his father again afraid that it would cause an unladylike outburst from the the princess.

"Well that man sounds quite wise." Cleo gathered her skirts and pushed herself off of the bed and started walking to the wardrobe.

"He is not."

"It is too bad that you think as such."

"I am going to bathe and then dress for bed. You may have the bed I will be staying up and finishing some research I have been doing." Magnus didn't want to make her more uncomfortable especially with the events of this morning. Magnus followed after her and reached around her head into the wardrobe and pulled out his night clothes.

"What are you researching." Cleo said as she turned so she could look him in the eye. He could tell that she didn't mean to be so close to him, but the blush on her cheeks showed him that she was also too embarrassed to move. The heat coming off of her body did wonders for his tense muscles.

"I am researching the Kindred." Magnus slowly backed away and made his way to one of the many chairs that was scattered across the room. "My father would talk about it, but when I was in the mountains looking after the construction of the road I kept hearing about it. I thought that it would be beneficial to find out what it is." Magnus had remembered being told about it by Aaron the idiot lap dog that my father kept around.

"The Kindred." said Cleo in a quiet whisper. She remembered much about the Kindred. She remembered that it held some ultimate power and that Magnus' father was looking for it. "What have you learned about this Kindred?"

Cleo began to pace the room. She didn't like the idea that Magnus and his father knew what the Kindred was. She and that prince were supposed to be the only ones looking for the Kindred. She had to find out what it was that Gaius wanted to use the Kindred for specifically

"Nothing much except a load of folklore and fantasy. But from what my father has told me he wants it and that can only mean that it is very powerful I never took my father for the type of man to follow such nonsense, but if it is important to him it is important to me ."

"You really think that he would find interest in this fictitious object? I did not think that your father was the type." Cleo said as she tried to calm herself by sitting in on of the chairs next to Magnus.

"I know for a fact that he wants to find it. He says that it and Lucia are the key to him gaining ultimate power."

"It sounds as if this is a hard object to find. If this is part of your plan I fear that I will be taken far before this object is found." At this moment she honestly hoped that it was never found.

"You are correct, it would be hard to find, I did not think that my father would deal out such a threat to you. But I do believe that we can use this to our benefit. If I tell my father that I have found anything regarding the Kindred he will be too focused on finding it to try and take you."

"Your entire plan so fair hinges on you possibly finding something about the Kindred and your father possibly being distracted by it. I know that you must have something better than this?"

Though Cleo didn't like the idea of Gaius finding the Kindred, she hated the thought of her being taken even more. She didn't know how but she had to find a way to find the Kindred before Gaius and stay with Magnus.

"I'm sorry to say that I don't this very moment, but it will have to do. Rest, we will talk more about this in the morning. Today has been quite exhausting, its starting to show on your face." Magnus rose from the chair a made to grab his night clothes.

"The way to end this night is not with insults about the way that I look." Cleo said lightly kicking his leg while crossing her arms over her chest. Magnus couldn't help but to compare her to a temperamental child who hadn't gotten their way.

"I am truly sorry, you are simply to easy to harass." Magnus chuckled as she rose from the chair and made her way to the adjoining bathroom.

"Yes well we shall see how fun it is to harass me after you find yourself with a new head of hair."Cleo said ominously as she formed her fingers into the sharp of a pair of eerie looking scissors, while walking into the bathroom.

"Well then I certainly won't be sleeping tonight" Magnus shouted at the door which had already been closed. Magnus couldn't help but chuckle at their banter. He truly did need to find a way to make sure that his father never got her.
