Another couple of years passed and on the eve of my fifth birthday I was told that I would be going home finally.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was finally going home! I hadn't seen my family nor where I lived yet, being cooped up in the same room for the first five years of my life. I was so happy that I took off in a full sprint around my room, my hands up and happy laughter coming from my mouth. I squealed and spun in a circle, throwing my head back and giving out a loud scream. I jumped all around feeling excited. I hopped from foot to foot, giving off happy laughs. I kicked my feet out and jumped around again.
"Easy Pony." I heard my favorite caretaker laugh. His name was Rei and he was always happy. When I was upset, he knew how to calm me down. He also called me Pony because my name apparently meant "water-horse".
"Ohayo Rei-san!" I squeaked, beaming happily. I sat on the floor, sitting with my feet touching and the tips of my hair touching the ground.
"Good Morning Pony. You ready for today?" he asked with a raised brow.
"Yes! Today's the day I get to go home!" I chirped, wiggling in place once more at the prospect of finally getting to go home. Home!
"Is that so? Awe, I'm going to miss my little Pony. I remember when you were a baby." He cooed cheekily ruffling my long hair.
I snorted and shook my head before playfully glaring up at him. "I'll be missing you too Rei-san. But you can come and visit! I think daddy might allow it." I yipped giving another smile.
He nodded his head before pulling me to my feet. "Well let's get you cleaned and dressed for your meeting." And then he pulled me to the restroom where he ran my bath (adding bubbles) and then went to get my clothes for the day as I undressed and sank into the warm bubbled-filled water. He came back and set my outfit on the sink before picking up my shampoo. He massaged it into my head and I gave a strange noise. It sounded like a rumble mixed with a squeak, it was so strange that I froze and Rei-san started laughing.
"Sounds like Pony is making pony noises." He stated.
"You're so weird Rei-san." I giggled before he rinsed my head off. And then he unplugged the drain and the water began rushing away.
He grabbed a towel and handed it to me before turning away as I climbed out and covered myself in it. I shook my head and told him I was finished. Then he left so I could get dressed.
When I finished putting on my clothes – blue hospital attire - I walked out and he came to my aide and combed my hair before it dried. That was something I liked. My hair dried abnormally fast, even at the length it was.
"Alright. You ready?" he asked about an hour later.
I gave an excited nod, feeling butterflies form in the pit of my stomach. I danced barefoot – I hated wearing shoes – as we walked from the room and down the hall. I observed everything curiously, even though I had seen it once or twice before when the doctor's had me come to their office for testing. But that was all really. I skipped alongside Rei-san as we came closer to the front entrance. I saw people look at me some with confused faces, others with resentment. It was something new. I had seen a few people look at me like that when I grew up, but not enough to where it affected me. I ignored them as best I could but they were still there. Still staring.
Rei-san put his arm around my shoulders as we went outside. I saw three men standing in front of me. I recognized two of them near instantly. They had visited me as a baby and young toddler. But the third – the youngest of them – I didn't recognize.
"Mizuma?" the oldest, my father, said. I gave a nod and Rei-san's arm fell from my shoulder as I took off at a dead sprint and tackled my father, my tiny body slamming into his thick frame. He stumbled a few steps before picking me up.
"Papa. Papa! I missed you! And I can finally meet you!" I squeaked happily. He was laughing as he placed kiss after kiss on my head. When he set me down I was still bouncing on the balls of my feet. I looked at the two other boys who were standing next to him. I recognized the one dressed in red and I smiled up at him, he was taller than my father by a couple of inches.
"You must be my brother right? I remember you from when I was a baby," I looked to the other one, he was shorter than my father and the youngest apart from me, "And you must be my other brother. Am I right?" I asked, putting my hands behind my back.
He nodded, "My name is Han. Yes I'm your older brother." He ruffled my hair. I flinched, snorting softly my nose scrunching up.
"And I'm Senshi. You're second older brother." The younger, Senshi, stated smiling brightly.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you all!" I turned to Rei-san and went to give him a hug. He squeezed me and spun me around before setting me on my feet. "I'll miss you Rei-san. You can come over anytime you want, okay?" I told him.
He gave a nod and kissed the top of my head before turning me and pushing me towards my family. "I'll miss you, Pony." He gave a laugh before he turned and went back inside.
I grabbed onto my Papa's large palm and we walked down the road. As we walked, I observed my home for the first time in five years. We lived between mountains. Everything was gray and rocky. It didn't look fancy, but it smelled nice and I immediately found it to be home. I noticed we walked down cobblestone pathways, with bridges going across small streams and canals. I took note of the people who walked around. They were all dressed in similar shades of color. They either wore shades of red, gray, brown or black. It was strange that we all dressed so similar, but I didn't mind. I did, however, feel out of place in my blue hospital attire I had grown so accustomed to. People turned and gave us looks. I saw them staring at me, the youngest and only daughter of my father. But when I met their eyes they gave smiles and waves. I gave shy smiles back feeling overwhelmed at seeing them all.
My biggest brother on the other hand, hid a look of disgust from beneath his large hat. I reached my unoccupied hand to his and grabbed onto his index and middle finger and squeezed softly. He looked down at me and I gave him a smile a small rumble forming in my throat – that normally happened when I was overly happy or feeling a need to comfort. I saw his eyes crinkle and I knew he was smiling.
Papa said we would go and get something to eat at one of the diners in the village and while we were there he would tell me what life was like. When we reached the diner, my father got a table enough for the four of us. The waitress took us to our table and my father and Senshi sat on one side and I scooted in next to Han.
We ordered our drinks; I got an Almond Milk since it was about the only thing I drank while in the hospital. My father got sake and my two brothers' ordered tea. "Can I ask some questions now?" I squeaked, sitting on my knees to reach the top of the table, my small stature needing the extra boost.
"Go right on ahead." My father nodded.
"Well, the first question. Where's my mother?" I tilted my head, a few strands of my weird hair falling over my shoulder.
"Your mother? Hmm… well she died giving you life. But don't worry, she said she would rather die herself than have her baby die when she lived." He added on quickly.
"Oh… I killed my mother? Oh…" I whispered softly, chewing on my lip furiously until it bled. I licked it clean and it healed itself. Han rubbed my head softly and I nickered subconsciously.
"No baby. She knew what was going to happen and she said no matter what she was having you because she knew you were going to grow up… special. She told me that she loved you and this was what she wanted." Papa assured me.
I nodded in understanding.
Our waitress came with our drinks and then took our orders. I wanted something that had fish in it. So I ordered fish ramen. The waitress giggled when I asked to order it and told me that I was lucky because a fresh supply of fish had just been delivered earlier the same morning. I was overly happy and papa laughed at my antics.
But, I noticed big brother Han wasn't happy. He was looking outside the window of the shop, ignoring the people in the restaurant. The waitress paid him no mind; she didn't even talk to him as Papa took his order. I didn't understand, but I wouldn't ask because it seemed like he didn't want to talk about it. So instead, I scooted closer to him and grabbed his hand with my tiny one. He flinched lightly before it tightened. I squeezed back and leaned my head on his arm, my bare feet up on the seat beside me.
Papa watched us and smiled, "we've all missed you, Mizuma." Senshi nodded in agreement, running a hand through his crimson red hair, the spikes becoming even messier. I giggled, and decided to observe my brother.
He had short, crimson red hair – as I stated – and his eyes were bright amber. He looked different than my daddy and brother Han. He was the only one that had red hair. Big brother Han – I didn't know what color hair he had, since he was always covered up. Daddy had black hair that was graying. But they all had eyes the color of amber, Han's being more of a light brown than bright amber. I took a look at myself and saw that I was the misfit. I had white hair, with light blonde tips. And my eyes were a bright aqua-green.
The waitress came back with our dinner by then and she set the individual dishes down. I felt my mouth water when I scented the smell of freshly cooked fish on my tongue. I hadn't eaten fish in a long while, because Rei-san had said it would make me sick.
"Arigatou." I mumbled softly to the waitress. She said your welcome in return before she turned and left.
"Itadakimasu." I whispered before I broke my chopsticks apart and dug in. I chewed and swallowed, allowing a rumble to pass my lips in content.
"Is it good, Mizuma?" Han asked softly. He had removed his mask so he could eat and I stared up at him. I reached up and traced the scar that went down the side of his lip. He watched as I did.
"Yes aniki. What happened?" I asked gently. He picked my hand up and moved it back to my lap.
"It was a training accident. Nothing else." He stated somewhat roughly, placing a hand on my head and rubbing it. I looked away and put another piece of fish into my mouth.
"Oh." I said after I had swallowed. I didn't push the subject anymore.
After dinner, we all walked home. I had gotten tired along the way so I was being held by Han – I had stated I was fine, but he didn't want my feet to get more dirty than they already were. He had me hitched to his back as we walked down the bare paths. It was late, and the sun had gone past the mountains so it was cold and dark.
"Thank you for dinner Papa." I mumbled softly.
"It was nothing baby girl. We're all just glad you're home." He told me, looking up from where I was seated on Han's back. I had forgotten that Han was taller than Papa by a few inches.
"I'm glad too." I yawned again, digging my nose into Han's white cloths. I could feel his breathing as I did so.
My nose twitched and I rumbled softly. I felt Han maneuver me so I was seated more comfortably. His arms locked underneath my bottom so I could sit comfortably. "I'm tired." I whispered.
"We're almost home. We just have to turn the corner and we're there." Senshi stated, reaching up to pat my head. I couldn't help but rub my head into his hand as he did. He laughed at that.
"Here we are." Papa stated. I looked past my brother's hat and saw the house. Or mansion, so to speak. Our house was huge. It was wide and had a large gate in the front.
"Woah."
"Big, huh!" Senshi exclaimed tossing his hands in the air.
"Uh huh." I stated nodding my head unable to remove my eyes from the house. It was really pretty, even in the dark. I could tell it was a stone gray color and it had sliding paper doors. We walked up the grovel path and I saw that there was short grass and bushes along the area of the front yard. When Papa unlocked the front door, he picked something up. He turned and I saw he was holding an orange, dark blue striped kitten in his hands. The kitten was awfully big. I tilted my head as he brought it over. The kitten mewled softly.
"It's so cute." I gasped. Han still held me. It seemed like he didn't want to let me go.
"His name is Taiga. He's for you. Him and his sister Ki. They were born a month ago." He explained quietly.
"He's awfully big for being a month old." I observed, reaching a hand out and rubbing the orange kitten's ears. They were soft. He mewled and a purr escaped his throat. I giggled.
"Well, when you meet their mother Kyokan. You'll understand why they're so big at their age." He smirked. He walked inside and we followed. Senshi took his shoes off and Han did the same, holding me up by one arm.
"I can walk now." I said softly, my arms draped over his shoulders.
"Hn." He grunted softly, squatting so I could slide off. I rolled my shoulders and I felt something rub against my legs. I squealed and jumped onto Han's arm, latching myself to him. He chuckled deeply and then reached down and picked up another cat. This one was a blue-near black kitten with bright orange eyes. When papa turned the light on I saw that it had really light orange stripes going down its back.
"This is Ki, I'm guessing?" I rubbed between the kitten's ears. The kitten, I think it was female, purred. She too was large like Taiga.
"She likes you, much like Taiga." He set me down and handed the kitten to me. I had to hold her in both arms because she was so big.
I walked down the hallway and nearly ran into Senshi. "Woah, careful there. I see you have Ki. Here let me have her. It's time for her to go back to Kyokan. I just laid Taiga there. Goodnight imoto. Love you." He took her from me and then walked away. I raised a brow after mumbling a goodnight and a love you back, as Han came up behind me.
"He's a bit scatter-brained. Here, I'll take you to your room." He put a hand on my shoulder and he led me further down the hall.
He slid open a door and I saw that there was a room. My new room. It was painted a light gray, with darker gray on the bottom. Like rocks. I walked forward and looked at the large bed against the far wall, by the large window. I went over and sat at the edge. It was soft. Much softer than the hospital one I had grown used to.
It would be hard to sleep.
"We had it ready a few years ago. We assumed you'd be out by the time you were 3, but that wasn't the case. So we got a bigger bed because we thought you'd be bigger. But you're still pretty small." Han stated. I saw he had taken his hat off and he had the same kind of hair like papa. Except his was short and spiked backwards and a jet black color.
"Oh. I am small, huh? I didn't grow much." I shrugged my shoulders.
Han backed up towards the door. "You're clothes should fit, if not we'll go buy more tomorrow. I think father wants to say goodnight. It is nice to see you again." He nodded before turning to leave.
I got up and ran at him, wrapping my small arms around his thighs – as I was that tall compared to him. He froze before grabbing me by my waist and hoisting me up. I hugged him around the neck and he planted a kiss on the side of my head.
"I love you aniki." I rubbed my head along his neck before he set me down.
"And I you." He patted my head before he walked down the hall.
I went back and opened my closet. It was a walk-in. I went in a picked out a dull gray night gown. Most of my clothes were either red, black or some form of gray. Even white. I missed wearing blue. But nonetheless I slipped out of my blue, hospital attire and slid into the gray nightgown. It came down to my knees so it fit.
I walked back out and saw my Papa sitting on my bed. I climbed in next to him and he smiled at me. He handed me my stuffed animal Rei-san had given me as a fourth birthday present. It was a small, fluffy white horse.
"I'm so glad you're here now. You're mother would love you." He kissed my head. I yawned and gave him a smile back.
"I think I'd love momma just the same."
"Yes you would. Now it's getting late and you have to get to bed." He chuckled.
"Okay." I sighed. I was used to going to bed when told because that's how it had been at the hospital. 9 o'clock was my bedtime each night. I climbed under the covers and marveled at how warm and soft everything was.
"Sleep well my precious." Papa kissed my head and then ran his hand over my head, pushing my bangs from my face before he turned the light out and left, leaving my sliding door slightly open.
I smiled softly and curled deeper into the soft bed. I tossed and turned for a bit before sleep came up on me. I looked out at the night sky, seeing the moon shining brightly above. I guess living between mountains really helped.
"Goodnight momma." I whispered softly before I curled my hands around my stuffed animal and yawned again.
I closed my eyes and let myself sink into a wonderful slumber.

I updated finally !
Some of you might wonder why Han is being so brotherly towards her and the reason is.
He feels guilty. He feels this way because he was the one who agreed to have the Kokuo transferred into his younger sister so he feels like he needs to be extra protective because he doesn't want her hurt.
So yeah.
Big brother Han :3
I hope you guys liked. I won't make her a Mary Sue, I promise.
Also, Ki and Taiga. My own creations :3 If I have a cat I said I'll name it Taiga and the other Ki xD for reasons.
Question: What kind of cat do you think Taiga and Ki's mom is? OH and do you know where I named them from? -chuckles-
