Hello again; thanks, always, for all of your support; it always motivates me. :) With that, here's "J", picking up where "D" left off.
Reviews are always appreciated but never required; thanks for visiting and enjoy!
J is for Joy, which is what Sora and Donald felt when they found out that Goofy was, in fact, not dead.
In the crystal cave hidden in the cobalt cliffsides outside of Hollow Bastion, Sora, Donald, and the King stopped briefly to rest from the intense fighting that still raged outside of the peaceful cave. It already felt so quiet without Goofy, unnaturally silent—silence that Goofy used to fill with cheerful observations. How were they going to go on without him? They couldn't—but they had to. There was no other alternative.
All was quiet for a moment as they mourned their fallen friend, and then—
"Hey, fellas!"
All three of their heads jerked towards the source of the familiar voice, and there, in the entrance of the save, stood none other than Goofy—a little glazed in the eyes, but jumping up and down and waving and smiling and alive.
Instantly the cave was alit with incredulous joy. "Goofy!" Sora, King Mickey, and Donald all yelled as one, and with a huge, gap-toothed grin the knight approached, rubbing his head where he had gotten hit with the falling boulder.
"Y'know, that really hurt!" he commented, very casually considering he had been believed dead, and soon enough the King was suffocating his subject with an affectionate hug, which Goofy returned, seeming a little bemused at their frantic welcome. "Gawrsh, Your Majesty!" he laughed, "I get bonked on the head all the time!"
Finally, the remainder of Donald and Sora's shock disappeared. Sora sagged with relief, almost falling over as he laughed weakly but happily at Goofy's more-than-welcome antics. Donald, however, now fumed, rolling up his nonexistent sleeves to march up to the third member of their Trinity, rearing back—and smashing his Mage's Staff across Goofy's foot. The dog promptly howled, jumping around.
"That hurt too!"
Donald glowered at him, balling up his fists, before finally hissing out a choked up, "Ohhh—don't you ever do that again!" Which translated roughly 'we were so, so worried about you and I'm overjoyed that you're alive.'
Sora smiled at the happy scene from where he stood at a distance, letting the long-time friends enjoy their reunion. He would join the celebration too, later—but his gaze slipped towards the other exit of the cave, towards the crumbling castle of darkness in the distance. The fight was not nearly over yet, and now, with Goofy back, they had the strength to carry on, and win.
Goofy was, miraculously, alive, and now it was time for the Trinity to fight.
