So, I am considering on discontinuing this story because I am not sure I really like how it has turned out so far, but I am going ahead and at least writing this next chapter since I truthfully have nothing better to do at this very moment.

I am hoping that I was able to express the feelings through my writing that Sakura and Sasuke were experiencing the last chapter. I really liked writing it.

Hope you guys like this next chapter.

Chapter Nine: When the Truth Comes Out

Sakura's lips. It took every bit of control for Sasuke not to kiss her in that moment. As negative as that arguement was, he has never felt that way before. Sasuke was trembling, walking away from her, partly from his own anger, and her rejection. He was never good at that kind of thing. A heavy weight felt like it was crushing his chest. To know that she really hated him that much. At a mimimum, if anything, he should at least tell her the whole story of everything.

Sakura walked into Tenten's house soaking wet, face red and wet with tears. It looked like Tenten was out which Sakura was grateful for. Tenten would have been all over her wondering what happened if she had seen her in this state. Stumbling into her room, Sakura looked at her phone sitting on her bed. She hadn't even realized that she had left it here. Turning the screen on, she had two missed calls from Tenten and one from Hinata. Sakura knew that she should call either one of them, but right now she didn't want to. Right now she just wanted to scream into her pillow. Tomorrow. That's right, all she had to do was make it through this arleady horrible day and maybe things would seem better as she returned home. She didn't have much of Summer left before she would have to return to school anyway. She was one more semester away from preparing to apply for medical school.

Half an hour later after lying on her bed, all wet clothes stripped off, Sakura decided that at least she should text Tenten to let her know that she was alright and fib. She would just make an excuse to stay in bed. She wrote that she felt sick after her run and that she had forgotten to take her phone while going on her run. Tenten didn't reply with much, but said she felt bad she was sick on her last day and that her, Neji, and Hinata would come to the house later to have dinner with her and say their goodbyes. Sakura was beginning to feel cold and decided that she would take a shower, then spend the rest of her day with a cup of tea and her medical book until the others came home.

She went into the bathroom, turned on the shower for the water to heat up and looked at herself in her mirror. Her reflection usually never dissapointed her since she was slim and very fit, but her face was different. Her eyes still inflammed, her cheeks still red. There were even slight bags under her eyes. The mirror began to steam up and Sakura slipped into the shower. The hot steam was inviting and the hot water felt soothing on her body. In some ways, it felt like some of her worries were being washed away along with the sweat and dirt from her muddy wet run. She proceeded to do her usual routine to clean herself up.

Hair wrapped in a towel, and dressed in some shorty shorts and a loose soft sweater, Sakura decided to head down into the kitchen and find something to eat. She didn't care what she ate, she just wanted something delicious and satifying to fill her stomach and eat some of the emptiness away. After searching around for a minute or two, Sakura found some chocolate, bananas and ice cream. There would be no mercy. She was going to make the meanest banana split ever. It was quiet in the kitchen and it was beginning to feel really down trodden so Sakura decided to try and liven things up a little by playing some music on her phone.

She proceeded to begin cutting her banana when suddenly the doorbell rang. Sakura frowned. Who on Earth could that be? Putting her knife down she headed for the front door and opened it. There stood Sasuke, no longer wet in a change of clothes, and a stoic expression on his face. Sakura was surprised at first to see him show up here, but all to soon, she remembered her rage towards him. "Sasuke!" she growled.

"What the hell are you-" But before she could finish her sentence, he interrupted her.

"Look," He began, "I know I'm the last person you ever want to see, but I feel that I have a right to correctly address the things you have accused me of." He said calmly. He offered Sakura a letter in which Sakura grabbed without even thinking. All she could do was blink, unsure of what to say because clearly by his demeanor and tone, he was not here to continue their earlier fight. Without further words, Sasuke turned his heel and began to walk away with his hands in his pockets. Sakura stared at his retreating figure for a minute, letter in hand, before she finally snapped back to reality.

She turned and closed the door, now curious as to the contents of the letter. She walked towards the game room where her friends had been hanging out all week and sank into her favorite chair that she liked to read on. She carefully broke the seal on the letter, no doubt the Uchiha seal and opened it so she could satisfy her curiousity of it's contents.

Sakura,

If I may be so bold, I have written this in an attempt to address the faults that you have accused me of this day.

In regards to your feelings, I will not address them again as you have made perfectly clear how you feel about me, so do not think that I have written anything in this letter to convice you otherwise.

That woman you saw me with earlier, as you mentioned, is a long standing business partner of mine. I have no romantic relations nor interest in her that way.

The first accusation laid upon me is my poor treatment of Sai. As I explained a summary of what happened earlier, I will go more in depth of what happened. Sai grew up with me as a young boy on my estate. His father was my father's friend, and the butler of our estate. Sai's mother had died when he was a very young age, and therefore, he never recieved any motherly affection in his childhood. My own mother treated him as her own, and my father as well. He was written in their will to recieve some of their forturne so that he may start a good life on his own when he came of age.

I loved him like a brother. As you know, my real brother Itachi and I were not raised together as young boys.

When the time came of age, and my father passed away, Sai's own father passed away not too long after. I offered to let him stay at the estate as long as he needed to, but instead, Sai decided to leave, and demanded his partion of money that my father left him in his will. I willingly gave him the amount my father had set aside for him.

He left the estate and wasn`t heard from until two weeks later, when he showed up the doorstep of my company drunk and repulsive. I was genuinely concerned for him until in his drunken state, he slurred off about him gambling and losing his fortune, and that I had an obligation as his brother to give him more money. When I refused his request, he began to yell inside my office, throwing things around yelling profanities about my family in front of the entirety of my staff. I probably would have laid him out there if it wasn't for one of my secretaries that had already called security to have him escorted out.

I have never heard from, or talked to Sai since.

As for the matter of your sister, I have already revealed my motives behind my actions earlier and although they might seem like insufficient reasons to you, I did it out of concern and as a service for a friend. In no way was I trying to be malicious towards your sister, and to further effect, you.

Unfortunately, I cannot offer you any better explanation of those actions.

Sasuke.

Sakura folded the letter back neatly, sobbing all over again. How wrong she was about the assumptions she had made about Sasuke through their whole acquantance. Though she was so rude to him earlier absolutely crushing his feelings he admitted to her, she could not help but to feel absolutely stupid and wrong for what she did. He even still took the right steps and had enough bravery to address all of the nasty accusations she had. Sure, her first impression of him was that he was a rude stuck up prick, and given he could act like one, but in that time of her prejudice, she had completely forgotten that he is just human after all and just like the mistakes she had just made, he made mistakes too.

Doing her best, she tried to regain her composure and enjoy the rest of the night. Tenten, Neji, and Hinata came over like they promised and they all had dinner together, with lots of laughter and jokes which made Sakura feel a little better, but deep down her chest still weighed heavily like her heart had been shattered into a thousand pieces. She still refused to admit it, but she knew deep down that she did like Sasuke, and after this whole fiasco went down, she only liked him more, but she rejected him so harshly that her chance to ever really know the Sasuke Uchiha was probably gone forever.

I wanted to italicize the letter but I couldn't get it to work using my tablet.

Anyway, I decided I would just finish this story rather than give up. I may not necessarily like how some of the chapters turned out, but the plot isn't bad. Plus, I guess it would be a dissapointment for those who really do enjoy this story.

Thanks to those that have reviewed and given this story support. I am glad to see that people do like this story, and as always, I always appreciate reviews.
