Okay originally I was going to end this story where it was as the main focus was Nico and Hades and the reasons my a step parent may somewhat mistreat a step child is a bit of a trigger issue for me but I keep getting requests for an update to I decided to write Hades' conversation with Persephone. This will be the last or second to last chapter.

Persephone's POV

I sat on a low stone bench in my ruined garden, crying. All my flowers had been destroyed by that insufferable brat. I had poured my heart and soul into it and Hades' half-blood son had destroyed it like the child he was. I saw Hades walking towards me.

"I don't wish to speak to you," I said stiffly.

He sat down next to me, "Then don't speak, listen."

"Listen to you!?" I yelled, "Look around you! Your son did this! You need to get him under control and you need to do it now!"

"Listen to me!" he yelled. "First, if you need any help repairing your garden Nico will give it to you, if he doesn't, tell me. Second, he will also be apologizing to you for his actions today. You should also know that he is grounded for the next six weeks and I spanked him. Now are you satisfied that he's been appropriately punished?"

I stared at my husband, "You spanked him?"

"Yes, I did, now answer my question," he responded

"Yes, I only disagree with the fact that you didn't consult me before deciding since he disrespected both of us," I told him, "but then again he's your son."

He sighed, "Is that what this is about?"

"Is what what this is about?" I asked.

"Is that why you treat Nico the way you do? Because he's my child but not yours?" he asked.

"So what if it is?" I asked him haughtily.

"Then you are being extremely childish and unfair. Nico did not choose the circumstances of his birth and they are not his fault. I cheated on you and I am to blame for that, not the result of my affair," he said his voice going hard and cold.

"What would you have me do then?" I asked.

"Remember who is at fault, take you anger in the situation out on me if you must," he responded.

Hades' POV

I watched Persephone mull over my words hoping I was wrong, that she wasn't taking out her anger at my extra-marital affairs on Nico and it was something completely different.

"Why don't we have any children of our own?" she asked. I stared this was hardly the time to discuss us having our own children. I had hoped Nico and Persephone could begood for each other. A boy who had just lost the closest thing to a mother he could remember and a woman who had no children but desperately wanted one. Apparently that was being too optimistic, that was something no one had accused me of before.

"Do you want to have a child with me?" I asked.

"More than anything I want to be a mother," she responded with passion.

"You didn't answer my question, do you want to be a mother to my child?" I asked.

"I'm not quite sure, husband," she said haughtily. "you've never shown interest in fathering my children. You'd rather take mortal lovers and father their half-bloods."

"Are you going to stop taking your anger at me out on my son?" I asked, lacking the energy yo argue.

"Yes, as a matter of fact I think I'll go talk to your son. She if he needs a mother's comfort after his father's discipline," she said and swept off in the direction of Nico's room.

I stared after her. What had just happened? Persephone wanted to mother my son? Persephone wanted to mother Nico?

What is that phrase the boy uses? Oh I remember, FML.

Well, then again if it means they'll stop fighting…..
