Loki looked about the room for means of escape. Before snarling when he discovered there was none except the window, and unfortunately Loki hadn't been blessed with the ability of flight.
Lily found herself feeling almost sad that Loki was going to be caught. He seemed like he was just a troubled soul with a brilliant mind and a superiority complex. She could hear the Avenger's collective footsteps approaching fast to ambush their foe.
Should she-? Lily hastily made probably the most idiotic decision she had ever made in her life.
"Loki." Was the only warning the god received before Lily, with the strength that could only be achieved in moments where adrenaline was involved, was flung gracelessly onto her lean back to be flown out of the window. It took a lot of concentration on Lily's part to maintain the bend in dimension to keep them from falling to their deaths.
She could hear shouts of disbelief from the room they had fled in her decent.
Loki somehow found himself feeling extremely uncomfortable. This woman, who appeared to be no different from any other human female, was a complete anomaly. She was 'telekinetic', as she had called it. She possessed some odd form of magic that did not require any instrument to control or enhance. Not only that but after he had attempted her murder, she helped him escape.
Gently their feet touched the ground. Lily wondered how fast she would be able to run with Loki. Would she be capable of bending reality to keep Loki up with her? Well, there was only one way to find out in this situation.
Hearing the thrum of machinery, Lily looked up to see Ironman shoot out from the balcony above and into the sky to find them.
"Lily. You-"
"No time for your fucking words of thanks, let's get outta here." She hushed the deity, who looked at her in silent shock. Lily took hold of his large hand which was surprisingly cool to the touch, before she burst into a speed she could easily sustain while dragging the remarkably agile Prince Loki beside her.
Lily sped back to where she had left her Ducati. Praying to every God she could think about that her precious motorcycle hadn't been crushed in the battle. Watching the skyscrapers pass her along with manoeuvring through debris, she eventually came near the edge of the city, where she had left her bike. They came to an abrupt halt by the bike, which much to Lily's relief hadn't even a scratch on it.
"You are rather intriguing for a human." Loki said casually, brushing off his regal attire.
"And you are actually pretty fast, and here I thought your brother was the brawn and you were the brains." Lily joked, through trying to regulate her breathing. Her hand dipped into her pocket to pull out her key.
"My brother has nothing but muscle." He growled. Lily ignored his insults and slotted the key into the ignition, tugging her helmet on and then opening the seat compartment to get another helmet for her – well, what was Loki now? Was he her companion? Her enemy?
Why the fuck did she even rescue him?
"Get your head out your brother's ass. Now," Lily held out the helmet to him," would you prefer to wear that garish thing on your head or some proper protection?" She pointed to Loki's horned helm that somehow was still upon his head.
Loki shot her a pointed look before examining the motorcycle helmet which was coincidentally in his favourite colour.
"Well?" She growled, hating the thought of someone finding her helping a criminal escape.
With a sigh, Loki took the helmet. He took off his helm and threw it among the rubble before pulling his replacement onto his raven head.
"Right, get on."
Lily swung her leg over the bike, leaning forward to take hold of the handles. She looked at Loki expectantly, while he looked on with an icy glare. His arms folded defiantly.
Loki hated how demanding this woman was. Had she no respect for authority. It was Loki's right to demand from her not the opposite. Lily quickly caught on to his train of thought.
She let out an irritated breath, before politely asking him to get on the bike.
"Much better, girl," He snapped, sliding in to sit behind the blonde telekinetic.
It would have been quicker for Lily to run home, but she wouldn't dare to leave her pride and joy. It had taken her years to save for the bike, and despite the obvious drawback of being caught by the Avengers she would never put another before her baby.
"Don't scratch the paintwork," Lily muttered threateningly as she used her powerful thighs to kick the bike off the stand and start the engine. "You might want to hold onto something."
Lily swung the bike around and shot off, grinning as she felt Loki's grip tighten on her shoulders. It was strange, how the roles had somehow been reversed and she was the one being held as they sped away on a motorbike into the sunset.
The blonde kicked it up a notch, wanting to get away from the city as quickly as possible.
The cars were beginning to queue going into the city. She supposed that meant that the Avenger's victory was broadcast live. Which meant that she should have a reprieve before the search for them began again.
She had to get Loki somewhere safe and unfortunately that meant putting Nan in danger. Then again, she'd probably like the male company. Not that that was any excuse.
The motorway leaving the city was dead, what with New Yorkers that had fled now making their way back into the city. So Lily had an easy ride, loving the roar of her engine as she tore across the asphalt with Loki holding on tightly to her leather clad form.
Suddenly she wondered what Loki would look like in ripped jeans and leather. Oh, Loki would look pretty fucking smoking, she surmised.
Lily grinned like a Cheshire cat as she came to the conclusion that Loki wouldn't be able to walk about in his Asgardian garbs, so he would have to wear some form of disguise.
And why not take advantage of the obvious man candy that would be making his shacking up with her. But fuck, Loki would make one hot biker.
Focus, Lily. Focus.
The blonde shook her head in an attempt to rid herself of those delectable images and began focusing on the task at hand – getting Loki away from the city.
In a situation such as this, Loki had to just let things happen as they came. Albeit reluctantly. Being emasculated in such a way was humiliating, if his brother had seen him like this he would have laughed all the way to Ragnarök.
How much he longed to have this human woman to beg him for mercy, in more ways than one. He was the god here, and yet she held the cards. He was clinging to her, while she drove some loud, curvaceous machine. The curves reminded Loki of a woman, smooth and rounded, plus the thunder of the bike as she sped up and the wind rushing past was all rather… thrilling.
Loki frowned. He liked this strange vehicle?
The raven haired god of mischief looked on as they finally pulled into a residential estate with well-kept lawns and white picket fences.
Lily zoomed up the pathway, setting the bike on its stand and then swinging off the seat. She tugged off her helmet, and shook out her tousled cropped hair.
Loki only needed to step off the motorcycle with his long legs to stand outside the two story house. It had a terrace with a rocking chair that overlooked the garden and neighbourhood, Loki couldn't imagine Lily sitting there observing people.
"Well, don't just stand there." Lily sighed, her helmet tucked under her arm. She turned away from the Norse God to walk up to the front door, fumbling with keys as she went.
Her Nan was not going to be happy about her bringing a man home.
Turning the lock, she pushed open the door. A waft of cooking meat hit her as she stepped inside, confidently followed by Loki.
"Lily, is that you?" Called the wilting voice of Margaret from the kitchen, she hadn't stopped cooking the whole time her granddaughter been gone.
"Yeah. Nan, it's me!" She replied, throwing her keys on the side table and setting her helmet by the door. Loki did the same with his borrowed one.
"Well, me," began the elderly lady. "You haven't even been gone a day! What happened?" Lily could hear the clutter of pans and prepared herself for the berating tone of the motherly figure.
The silver haired woman came around from the kitchen, wringing her hands on a cloth. Stopping short, when she noticed two sets of feet by the door. Margaret glanced up to the intruder and then to her granddaughter.
"Lily, you didn't say we had company." Lily could tell that an argument loomed near.
"Well, this is Loki. He's just come over to Boston from…" Lily trailed off, not all that knowledgeable about Norse Gods and mythology.
"Scandinavia," Loki finished, stepping forward and bowing at the waist before taking hold of her grandmother's wrinkled hand and placing a chaste kiss upon the back.
It appeared that Margaret was easily led by tall, handsome men. She giggled like a school girl, holding her cheek with her free hand to hide her heated cheeks.
Lily was thoroughly embarrassed by her Nan's reaction to the charming gesture.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," finished the silver tongued prince, straightening and releasing her hand that he pressed to his lips.
The silver haired woman burst into giggles again.
"Oh, aren't you a handsome young man." She sang, "Will you be staying long?"
Loki's handsome mouth broke into a dazzling smile, "As long as you will have me."
Lily could barely watch the sickly sweet affair, turning to walk up the stairs to escape to her bedroom.
"Just where do you think you're going, madam?" called Nan, gratingly. Lily stopped mid step, craning her head to glare at the fugitive she was secretly harbouring.
He smirked. His appeal was obviously enough to draw attention away from his medieval get-up.
"If you'd be so kind as to excuse us, we have much to discuss." Loki said softly. Boy, he was smart. His technique was flawless. Loki knew exactly what to say and how to say it to manipulate people into doing his bidding.
"Of course - dinner will be ready soon, we've got steak. You do eat steak in Scandinavia, don't you?" Margaret squeaked.
"I'm sure anything you cook will be delicious." Loki was a true ass licker. Margaret smiled, before striding back into the kitchen to prepare more of her dishes for her new guest and favourite person.
Loki could feel Lily's glare burn into the back of his head and he turned to lock with that glare.
"Must you be so adorable?" He teased her glare pathetic and not at all intimidating.
"Fuck off. Get your head out my Nan's ass and get up here." She whispered harshly, not wanting her grandmother to start ranting again.
"Tsk. Tsk. No manners, girl. You should learn to respect your betters," warned Loki with an authoritative edge.
"Coming from the man who was rescued by said girl."
Loki couldn't argue with that. It was either be captured and executed or hide away with this beautiful specimen.
Of course, if he had the choice he would pick the latter.
