Well I guess this isn't really a chapter, more like an after ever after. I cried typing this. I had some free time and power typed through it. Thank you all so much for sticking through the entire story and reading. I know I'm not a great writer but everyone that reviewed really encouraged me to keep this going.
Dusty pictures of two smiling men lined the fire place, some having two woman joining the men, two older men in a few, a twin with his arm wrapped around the other in another. Right in the middle there was one big family photo of a day that the two lovers had taken in front of their new home with their new adopted children. Old memories scattered throughout the large log cabin that had been built with years of hard work and persistence.
A wrinkled hand reached and gently took the center picture off of the mantle. The thumb gently wiped away some of the dust and a quiet chuckle came from the owner. A small blonde was smiling with tears dripping down his face because he had been so happy to bring the children home. He was holding two children, a small boy and girl, while a larger platinum haired man smiled holding his arms around his new family. In the background the blonde haired boy's brother was playing with a dog, two women, also with platinum hair, were standing on the porch, one crying because she was very emotional and the other standing close by with a small smile, and another pair of men, looking to be in their sixties, were resting under a large oak tree in the yard. After awhile the picture was placed back where it had been and the man stood up right as a big grandfather clock rang throughout the home.
He walked quietly to his room he once shared with the man he had loved so much. He slowly laid down in his side of the bed and looked over at the empty place. His lover had died of old age a year before and now he could feel it was time to go to him. He rolled and looked at the small alarm clock on the bedside table and gently he grabbed the picture that was sitting beside it. It was a picture of a long time ago when they had went to their children's high school graduation, it had been thirty years almost.
His thumb softly went over the blonde's face in the picture.
"Matvey...I love you so much...It has been a beautiful life with you...I won't be long...I'll see you tonight." Ivan slowly pulled the picture from the frame and held it over his heart in hopes he could take it with him.
Ivan closed his eyes and a few moments later his breathing slowed then a few minutes after midnight his breathing stopped all together.
The wedding had been beautiful. Family had gathered from all over to come see the pair wed.
Years later Ivan had started building a log cabin home like Matthew had dreamed of his entire life.
It had taken ten years for the home to be finished and when it was done Matthew and Ivan had stayed there for two years before Matthew asked Ivan for a family.
They had adopted one child from Russia and another from the same orphanage Matthew and Alfred had came from. Matthew had cried all the way home holding the babies as close as he could.
They had watched their children grow up and go through school, leave home, and make families of their own.
Francis and Arthur had passed away in the same month, days apart. Some say Francis had died of a broken heart and followed Arthur after he passed away from cancer.
Matthew had taken care of the graves since Alfred had moved away to a different state.
Alfred had his own family and passed away at the age of 67 from a heart attack. Ivan's sisters had moved back to Russia and made a living there until they both died of natural causes. Matthew had been right by Ivan's side to get him through that hard time.
Three years after that at the age of 99 Matthew passed away of old age. Ivan had woken up one morning and Matthew just never woke up again. Ivan had cried for the loss but he was also happy that he had given Matthew a full happy life and that he had gotten to be with him since they were in their mid-twenties.
They had so many good memories together that he knew he would see Matthew again and not regret a single thing about the life he left behind. Memories could make people laugh, cry, or frown. Some were better than others but to Ivan and Matthew old memories truly were the best.
Sorry it wasn't super long or anything but like I said before, its and after ever after. I hope you all enjoyed. I may actually be writing another long story but about FrUk instead if I ever get the time.
