I sat there bored out of my mind. What was taking her so long? I sighed slightly in annoyance.
I thought she was just going to run to her room, grab something and run out.
Maybe she had to use the bathroom? Or maybe she was grooming herself? After all, she is a female and they like to look nice. But, Kitt? She always looks nice! I mean what else is she going to do? Put makeup on? I shuddered at the thought. Makeup would just erase her best quality. I think that is she looks amazing without makeup and she doesn't act fake like most women.
I leaned forward and placed my chin on my hand. I wonder if that's who I think it is.
The door opened and there stood the little girl I was talking about. No makeup, just hair put up in a sloppy ponytail that looked adorable on her. Plus she was wearing a pair of earmuffs.
I looked at her face. She seemed to be at peace. Maybe she made some resolve, and that's what took her so long.
I stood up.
"It seems as though you are ready to go."
"Go?" She asked, confused.
"Yeah, why else would you need those clothes?"
"Don't patronize me."
"Well, just in case you didn't know, we are going to a snow festival of sorts."
"Is that all? No requests from the Queen? No dog following orders?"
I smiled. "Aren't you full of questions?"
"Yet you didn't answer a single one." She deadpanned.
I walked to the door, gestured for her to follow, and walked out.
I sighed loudly as we walked down the long halls that I barely knew how to maneuver through. This was the, what, umpteenth time I had sighed in the past five minutes and I could tell I was driving Sebastian insane.
I opened my mouth to sigh once again to sigh, when Sebastian turned around and slapped his gloved hand over my mouth.
"Please," He paused and took a breath to release some of his frustration. "Refrain from doing that."
"Mk!" My muffled reply came joyfully.
Sebastian's face morphed into one of mild confusion.
I snickered as I put my hands into my pockets. I fondled the little metal chain in it, my hand drifted to the locket piece. I was so lost in my thoughts that I crashed into Sebastian's back when he stopped outside of Ciel's bedroom.
He paused and looked at me in mild amusement from the corner of his eye. I smiled at him. He turned back and opened the door.
In the middle of the room, we revealed, stood a peeved Ciel. Who, may I mention, was only wearing his night shirt. It was exceedingly hard to take his look of irritation seriously, so I hid partially behind Sebastian and snickered silently
I peeked up at Sebastian's face, which was making no effort to hide his amusement. There, proudly on his face was that smirk that I usually hated so much.
After I was kicked out and Sebastian dressed Ciel, we loaded up in the carriage, one with a top obviously key the snow, and we took off.
Sebastian was pretty reckless while driving today. He wasn't driving like a sane man considering the ice and I was ready to scream, already past the panic point.
"Why is he driving like this!?" I squealed at Ciel, who was also disheveled. While I was laying on the seat, clinging to it, Ciel was sitting legs apart, braced for impact, eyes wide, skin looking greenish, hair all messed up and eye patch all twisted and near falling off.
I looked at him and relaxed my muscles a bit. Sebastian can't kill us. Ciel's in here. I pushed myself shakily over to Ciel and grabbed his eye patch gently. I untied it.
"What are you-?" He started.
"Hold still." I interrupted.
He complied grudgingly. I combed my fingers though his feathery hair then tied the eye patch back in its respectful place. I felt suddenly mellow, despite the rocking carriage. My eyelids closed slightly, into a relaxed position as I continued to fix his tousled form. Then, I rested my head on his shoulder.
"Kitt?" He turned his head to look at me.
"Are we there yet?" I sounded sickly.
He smiled mildly and rested his hand on my back.
He then went to work trying to pat my hair down, for it was sticking out in all directions. Eventually, after a couple of accidental hairs ripped out, I leaned away and pulled my ponytail over my shoulder and combed it out with my fingers.
Then the carriage jerked and I fell backwards.
Once we arrived, Sebastian stopped the carriage and walked to the door and helped me out. The carriage was pitch-black and there was no sign of our white haired companion.
I peered in. "Kitt?"
I heard a painful groan come from the inside.
"Sebastian-"
"Yes, Young Master."
He climbed in and, after a couple of silent seconds, I heard a small crash.
"Kitt, it's just me. Quit thrashing." Sebastian grunted. Wow, she must really be putting up a fight.
"All the more reason to." She growled.
Sebastian walked back into the light and allowed me to behold the two. Sebastian was holding Kitt bridal style. Her hands, however, were both placed awkwardly on his face and chest, pushing him away.
He looked at me as he jumped down. It was quite a beautiful sight. Those two looked really good together. Any girl would have squealed in delight at the sight of them. Except Kitt kind of ruined the sweet atmosphere with her struggling and hitting.
I snorted slightly at the two of them. "Kitt, your hair is a mess."
She froze, and I suddenly felt this threatening aura that, surprisingly, didn't come from Sebastian. Kitt slowly turned her head and looked at me as though I was a meal and she hadn't eaten in years.
Uh oh.
Ciel was dead.
That's the only thought that ran through my head. After Sebastian had hit that last bump and I fell backwards, Ciel had done nothing to save me. The only thing that changed was that the curtain to our only source of light closed so we sat in silence for about five minutes and then he got out and looks amazing while I have to be dragged out and look like crap and he tells me this.
I lunged out of Sebastian's grip and towards the little piece of- When I realized Sebastian had wrapped his arm around my waist in order to stop me. I slumped in his arms. It was no use.
"Sebastian?" I asked sweetly.
"Yes?"
"Will you let me go?"
"Will you behave yourself?"
I sighed in defeat. "Yeah."
He released my waist and set to work on my hair. He took off my earmuffs and hair bow. He whipped out a comb and gently removed all of the tangles.
While he was working I was glaring at Ciel the whole time. He sweatdropped and avoided eye contact.
When I felt a release of my hair and a strange sensation against my neck, I reached back and felt the braid he had put into my hair. He plopped on the earmuffs and reached around to the front of me where I caught a glimpse of gold, I reached up after he had fiddled a bit at my neck. I grabbed the gold thing around my neck and looked at the locket that was supposed to be in my pocket.
My eyes widened to the size of saucers. And I spun around to look at him.
He smiled slightly.
But this smile was more… genuine.
I toyed with the locket around my neck as we walked through the rows of shops. Well, not really shops, more like tents. Some had some seriously cool stuff. Others, well let's just say most of this place was made for suckers.
As we walked I spotted something that looked actually of value. A little ark, I paused only for a second to stare at it, but that was enough for the other two to notice my stop. They both turned to look at me.
I looked back at them and smiled widely. "What?"
"Nothing." They both said and turned back around abruptly and started walking again.
I wasn't fooled. "It's something! What is it?"
"I said it's nothing." Ciel didn't turn back around and Sebastian remained silent.
It was definitely something.
As we walked through the useless stalls, I realized there was this giant ice statue in the distance. It wasn't far, just past the stalls. It seemed we were heading that way.
Once we got there I saw the magnificent ice statue. The details were impeccable. And I could actually picture it as a real living, moving person. I glanced at Ciel as I heard him mutter something. "Her Majesty" is what I pinpointed it to be.
So this is what the Queen looks like. I let my eyes take in the details and travel down the length of it. My eyes met an odd color on the ice blue statue, a dark blue. I took a step closer to look, but suddenly a hand met my chest and pushed me back.
The Viscount of Druitt.
I froze at the sight of the man in front of me. My heart rose to my throat. I was about to scream when he bowed.
I paused my fear, dumbstruck. Why-Ohhhh! He doesn't recognize me.
"I apologize my lady but this statue has to stay in tiptop condition. It can't be dirtied." He paused, realizing that he just said that I was dirty. Well, I was going to hit him anyways for that night at the Ball.
I raised my elbow back, made a fist that was rock hard, and brought it down on his bowed head as hard as I could muster. I felt his hair wrap around my hand as I brought it down and pushed myself harder.
He ended up face planting into ice, so hard that it managed to make the ice sound like a drum for a second.
I wrapped my other hand around my right hand. That had hurt, but I was pleased. I turned my nose up at him and walked closer to the statue and looked at the odd discoloring. It was a ring a deep blue ring that seemed very familiar.
"It's a blue Hope Piece ring." I heard Ciel say.
Speaking of Ciel, I turned and looked at him, who was looking at his family ring. I knew it looked familiar.
Just then some fat man and a woman wearing too much makeup walked between me and the statue, picked up the Viscount of Druitt, and didn't forget to send me dirty looks.
"There!" I heard someone yell.
I turned. "Great. More problems." I grumbled.
"That's the blue Hope Piece ring we're looking for!" Scotland Yard was here.
"No sir. This ring and statue will be given to the winner of the Ice sculpting contest. Can't you just see the elegance that has been carved into this hunk of Ice? And the fact that its design was made around the ring that was already in the ice! Only a true admirer could ever deserve this statue's beauty."
I rolled my eyes and couldn't help the smile that formed on my lips.
"Then, we'd like to enter."
I saw majority of the people's eyes widen at my statement.
"Kitt…?" Ciel's voice was warning, but I caught a hint of pride laced within his voice. He knew I could make this challenge sound intimidating, so I vowed to try my best.
"You say this is true beauty? You're missing the concept. Sure, she is the Queen, but that is not the representation of beauty. She is a woman, but that's not simply it. The concept is true beauty tells a story. She is the simple symbol of power, pride, and our rising country. Not beauty. Does one call the seed a beautiful flower? Or do you buy the flower because of the drawing on the box of seeds? The true representation is the beginning, before it has seen and experienced the darkness of the world." Wow, I was really getting into this. My eyes darkened, my tone mellowed from its passionate spurt. "Or else you're just another victim of this corrupted vision of reality."
I thought about that statement as I stared at the cracks in the ice from where the Viscounts face had hit. Was it really that simple? Honestly, what is true beauty? Naivety or wisdom? They both had their advantages but they are both so ugly and problematic.
"But true beauty never lasts long." I mumbled.
I soon realized that everyone had heard me and were staring at me in wonder. I paused, smiled, and continued. "And that's why Ice is the perfect representation!" I tilted my head and smiled so large that it hurt my cheeks. Was it genuine?
Who knows?
Suddenly I was grabbed from the side. I was honestly shocked spitless to see that the Viscount had enough nerve to hug me. How he recovered from my hit so fast? The world may never know.
I recovered quickly and shoved him off of me.
My eyes widened as I looked at his face. There were tears streaming down them. He was crying? For me?
I looked away and spotted Sebastian. Perfect. He was exactly who I wanted to see.
I ran up to the dark shadow and leapt up to his shoulder, which proved a little more difficult than I had imagined. I propped myself up on him by bracing my hands on his shoulder. I lowered my head slightly to his ear and whispered my plan to him.
I added a "Please, for me?" At the end just to add a bit of persuasive Kitt power.
Once I had jumped down from his shoulder, I noticed his raised eyebrow. It was, of course, in amusement. I frowned slightly.
"Will you or not?" I crossed my arms and popped a hip.
"Fine. But not without my own little…" He paused and I shuddered from his smirk. "…touch."
"Do what you like. Just win." I glanced at Ciel worriedly.
He was entranced in his ring.
Or just trying to distract himself.
I smiled softly. "Yeah, you'd better win."
He placed a hand on his heart. "That won't be a problem."
I shuddered at the air of mischief that he gave off.
Well, as long as he won it should be fine right?
Sorry for the Wait people! And there is so much that I wanted to post!
