In the Night
A/N: I absolutely adore the concept of Dark Enerjak. I'm actually kinda sad that he lost to Silver :P
You say you know love, but you are just reflecting words you hear.
No iron in your veins to give you any sense of pain or fear.
It's just another lie, it's just another calculation,
And when the power's out, we're just another old sensation.
We run around the rules,
We run around the rules,
We run around the rules,
Round and round, two by two,
We run around the rules.

In the night, it is too quiet. It is always too quiet. For her, it was the starkest reminder that all the life that Mobius had once had had been stripped from it.
Except them.
Their five, and his one man army.
It is too quiet.
In the night, she lies curled on her side listening to the silence, trying (not) to think of her mother, Julie-Su's pink form moving behind her eyelids.
Julie-Su setting the pots back in place.
Julie-Su lining her boots up by the door.
Julie-Su tenderly sweeping the bangs from her face.
Julie-Su gently drawing the thin gray blanket over her shoulders.
If she could see her mother's face, she knows she'd see a soft smile, full of love.
She doesn't open her eyes, because her mother is dead, and there is only one other parent it could be.
Still, for now, she allows the shadow to exist. To move quietly around her room and put things in place, to make her comfortable on her creaking, rusty bed and smooth the day's tensions from her brow.
She lets him smile and sing her to sleep.
Only in the night, is he her father.
She will only ever allow him that.
She can only ever allow him that.
For now, in the night, she will let him play what she knows is his most special, most favourite game.
(She vehemently, fervently, crushes the part of her that knows it is her's, too.)
In the night, she takes this brief respite and lies in wait for the morning.
In the morning, she will remind herself that he is a monster.
In the morning, it will be time for her to fight.
