Arya stood patiently, awaiting the arrival of her new sparring partner, someone that Eragon's letter told her was the best warrior he had ever seen. Arya wished she could have gone with Eragon to the far ends of the earth, entire continents other than Alagaësia, where dragons still lived and thrived, completely unaware that on a far distant country an evil king had nearly wiped out all of their kin. Eragon's latest letter said he was currently in a place known as Faerún, where he had discovered an entirely new race of beings, the dreaded dark elves, one of whom was not evil and would be coming to Arya's home in Du Weldenvarden to help her train. With a suden explosion, a tall dark form in the shape of an elf in a hood appeared on the ground in front of her. Eragon must have used the transportation spell to send him here. The elf stood up and removed his hood, revealing to Arya's utter astonishment that his skin was coal black. The sight of a black elf was so startling to Arya that she completely forgot her carefully worded greeting to the first new race seen in Alagaësia since the Urgals had arrived centuries ago. When Arya didn't speak, the dark elf cleared his throat and said, "Drizzt Do'Urden at your service, my lady elf." At hearing her guest speak, Arya remembered her own courtesies: "I am most honored to have you grace us with your presence, noble dark elf. You may want to know that you are the first dark elf ever in this land, so-" Arya broke off as the dak elf snorted and said: "You'd better hope that I'm also the last dark elf to visit you here, brcause I am the ONLY living drk elf who will not try to kill you simply for being an elf. My people hate elves on principle. I left my nation and their evil ways decades ago, but I am certainly no noble to e greeted as such, especially not by a queen. Now, let us cross our blades and see which of us will endup being the teacher here."

Arya was taken aback at the abruptnes the dark elf -Drizzt had shown, but she was ready. "Very well then."

They circled each other warily, Arya holding her dragonrider sword in a two handed grip while Drizzt held his scimitars at the ready. Arya decided to make the first move, and ran toward him at a speed only an elf could manage. Far from the lightning fast parry she had been expecting, her opponent merely skipped to the side and let her blast past him. She spun around at came at him again with a downward cleave so fast even she could barely see it herself. Her opponent surprised her again by darting backwards nimbly once more. Arya growled and launched a slashing attack at him in a zigzagging motion of her wrists, so fast that her sword was nothing more than a green blur of motion as it rocketed up and down, getting closer and closer to the dak elf, who, instead of dodging again actually chuckled and said, "Finally you start attacking!" He whipped his scimitars up and brought them both in front of him, then launched his own spin. The two curved blades shot round and around, blocking every slash Arya directed his way, easily, and without even trying to counterattack. After a few minutes of this, Arya snarled at him and said "Stop this playing, now!" "Gladly," The cocky drow said, and hopped a step back, spun both scimitars to a halt parallel to the ground, an open stance inviting attack. Arya took the opening, and thrust. Drizzt lazily knocked her sword right out of her hand with his left scimitar and thrust with his right, halting his attack with the tip of his blade just touching the base of Arya's throat. "Dead." He said, and sheathed his weapons.
