AN: Chapter 8 I really wanted to write from Gray's POV (Technically, it's still third-person, but it's focusing on Gray) and so I did. It's a bit short, but it's extra. \('0')/

"And last, but certainly not least, Lyon, who will be supervising all the exercises you will be doing!"

Gray's eyes instinctively turned towards Juvia across the room; her eyes shaking, along with her quaking shoulders.

Her eyes displayed many emotions. Anger. Irritation. Fear. Not one, but an odd combination of the three, her hands forming fists. Gray's eyes narrowed as he observed her. He didn't know who Lyon was, and what connection he had with Juvia, but he knew she didn't want him around.

"So that's everyone!" Mirajane interrupted his thoughts, and he coughed a bit when he noticed how much he was actually leering at Juvia. "Remember who your roommates are and prepare to bunk with them!"

"Ladies dorm is this way!" Lisanna raised her hand and began waving it around as she stood by the exit to the cafeteria. With that cue, the women began to rise from their seats to follow the white-haired woman out, including Juvia, who turned her head quickly to avoid looking in the direction of Lyon.

Despite her best efforts, Gray saw Lyon pursue her, grabbing her arm to prevent her from leaving, the rest of the ladies too far ahead to notice. They began to speak to one another, Juvia clearly irritated as she pulled her arm away, their voices inaudible to Gray.

Gray didn't think too much of it at first. He didn't know Lyon. Maybe he was just saying something normal, and Juvia was just overreacting. That's until he saw her face.

Her eyes were trembling as she held the wrist where Lyon had previously grabbed her, tears just barely exiting her ducts, Lyon still saying something inaudible to her.

With that sight in mind, Gray pushed himself up suddenly from the table, shaking the whole table.

"Hey, Gray?" Natsu said lazily as he lifted his head from the table to face him, only to see an empty space where he had previously stood.

"Ah, whatever." He mumbled before placing his head back on the table.

In a quick flurry, Gray stood in front of Juvia, shielding her from unwanted eyes, namely Lyon. Gray cocked his previously downed head, looking at Lyon with the most menacing of glares.

"Eh, Gray!?" Juvia exclaimed.

"What do you want?" He asked, still facing Lyon. Silence broke out between the three, with the only sounds being Juvia's sniffling, and the background noise of the guys still in the cafeteria, hoping to snag some food before heading for their dorms.

Lyon looked surprised at the sudden appearance of Gray, only to turn his surprised look into a cocky smile. "Well, well, well. I was just telling Juvia about you." Gray's glare tightened. "You shouldn't use Juvia like this. It isn't right. I'm only trying to help." Lyon elaborated. "You have to listen, Juvia." His once cocky tone slid into a tone of anger, and resentment.

Gray didn't say anything, though he wanted too. Everything could be explained if he spoke. But he didn't. He didn't have to explain anything to this stranger. "Juvia, go to your dorm." He said, turning his head slightly towards her, though still facing Lyon.

"Eh?" She asked.

"Don't say anything to Lucy or anyone else there." He said. "I'll take care of this." Juvia sniffled and rubbed her eyes before running out.

Gray's eyes followed her out before returning to their glare. "What's your problem with me?" He questioned. "I don't know you, you don't know me…" Gray's lowered. "So why?"

"Tch." Lyon turned his head away suddenly before returning it to meet Gray's glare. "'Don't know you,' hah. I like to think I know you pretty well. Constantly coming to work with another woman at your side, you think you can do the same to Juvia, right?" Lyon crossed his arms. "Juvia isn't like those other women. She's special. If you knew her like I do, you wouldn't try this."

Gray lowered his gaze. Things could all be explained so easily. It wasn't like that. He never did anything with those women. It's just, people never asked, so he never said anything. "It was never my intention to do anything to Juvia." He said, his head now down.

Lyon looked angry now. "Like hell it wasn't!" He shouted, although no one else but Gray heard due to the bustle of the crowd still in the cafeteria. "If it wasn't for you…!" Lyon cut himself off. "Whatever." He finished. "We'll discuss this later." Lyon turned around, shoving his hands in his pockets before stalking off.

Gray kept his glare on Lyon. If it wasn't for me? Gray thought to himself. This was merely the second time he had met Lyon, and yet he spoke of Gray as if they had spoken once before. Gray scratched his head, and began fumbling back to his table group.

"Oi, Gray!" Natsu waved with one hand, the other occupied with the food the chef had served him. "Where did you go?" He asked, mouth full of food.

"Nowhere you need to know of, you hot-headed…" Gray mumbled the rest of his insult, too tired to even bother. He plopped himself down in the seat, rubbing his eyes with the palms of his hands.

"You hungry?" Jellal asked from his seat in front of Gray. "You should eat." Gray shook his head.

"Nah. I need sleep. I'm just gonna head to the dorms now." Gray pushed himself up once more and headed towards the exit.

"Save me a bed!" Natsu shouted after him, still enjoying his meal.

"Next time, just refer to your map if you're lost!" Mirajane scolded Gray as they arrived at the entrance of the 'Boy's Dormitory.'

"Yeah, yeah." He mumbled. "Thanks, though."

Mirajane smiled, crossing her arms. "There are a few rooms, with two beds each, and the living room is for all the guys. Just choose a room for yourself and your roommate." Gray nodded.

"Got it." He replied, opening up the door and heading inside. The dorm felt awfully quiet and dark, even with the single ceiling light on. The living room consisted of a group couch, an average size TV with a fireplace. Further back was a hallway with multiple doors leading to the individual rooms. Gray lumbered towards the furthest room, opening up the creaky door, and throwing his duffel bag at the nearest bed followed by him, flopping right on the fluffy sheets. At least the beds were comfy.

Gray's head had been aching ever since his confrontation with Lyon. Everything was so confusing, but he promised Juvia he would handle it, and handle it he shall. Once the other guys arrived to the dorm, the place had gotten much louder, and livelier. There was plenty of shouting and arguing about 'which bed he wanted' or how someone's 'taking too long in the bathroom' and if they had to wait any longer they might 'piss their pants.'

Gray clutched his head as he rose from his bed, assuming he fell asleep for a bit upon his arrival. Sick of the pain in his head, he unzipped his bag and pulled out a bottle of painkillers and popped a couple, downing some water from his water bottle soon after.

The door began to creak open, revealing Natsu on the other side.

"Oh hey." He said, patting his stomach. "You should've had some of that food, man. It was great!" He shouted in glee. "Not as good as Lucy's, of course." He mumbled when he thought Gray wasn't listening.

Natsu threw his bag beside the unoccupied bed, sitting himself down on the padded sheets. "Man, I'm exhausted. That train ride was too much!" Natsu continued to complain, but Gray had become an expert at tuning him out while still making him feel heard.

Gray's thoughts were preoccupied with other things. Things he wasn't sure how to fix. All he knew was Lyon had a problem with him, a problem that definitely included Juvia, and Gray was determined to figure out what it was.
